TravelSmith microfiber shirt on sale for $39

travel%20shirt.jpgI just returned from the Caribbean where it was -- get this -- hotter than South Florida! This TravelSmith microfiber shirt, on sale for $39 from $54, might have been a good addition to my suitcase.

Microfiber resists wrinkles and drip-dries overnight, according to TravelSmith, which specializes in travel clothes for women and men. For a beach vacation, where one is always changing from swimsuit to dry clothes, that sounds ideal.

In the Caribbean, everything happens on "island time," including drying clothes, it seemed.

The travel shirt comes in several colors and a sleeveless style. For more information, go to TravelSmith.

South Florida locations offer free HIV testing

June 27 is "National HIV Testing Day," and several South Florida locations are offering free or low-cost testing this week and next.

Broward and Miami-Dade counties have the highest rate of new HIV and AIDS infections in the nation, with Palm Beach County close behind, according to federal statistics from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. Florida is among the top ranking states in the nation with the most HIV/AIDS cases.

40 percent off Banana Republic Friday

Get 40 percent off women's full-priced items online at Banana Republic on Friday.

If you miss the sale, you can still get 30 percent over the weekend.lace%20tank.jpg

Banana Republic has several colorful tops and ruffled dresses just right for summer. I liked this top for $34, though it doesn't qualify for the discount because it's on sale. With the 40 percent discount, though, you can shop new items like this dress, regularly $130. banana%20republic%20dress.jpg
