Teacher Appreciation Day events at Office Depot, Staples, Big Lots on Saturday


Staples, Office Depot and Big Lots are having Teacher Appreciation events on Saturday, Aug. 13. Teachers will save even more with Florida's tax holiday, which runs through Sunday, Aug. 14.

Staples' event is from 9 a.m. to noon. All Central and South Florida Staples stores in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Orange counties are participating. The first 100 teachers to visit the office supply stores will received free a reusable lunch bag filled with pens, eraser caps, note tabs, a one-subject notebook, glue sticks and sticky notes. They will receive a coupon sheet with great savings on Crayola, Spectrum and Eureka products. They'll save even more with Florida tax holiday, which starts Friday and runs through Sunday. (Here's a coupon for 300 free instant lables, too; it expires on Aug. 24.)

Office Depot's events is from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and features breakfast, a 20 percent instant discount up to $20 and a free tote filled with products. You have to be a Star Teacehr Member, which is free to join.

Big Lots is offering 10 percent off to teachers with an I.D.
