Mother's Day dining deals, freebies and treats


Happy Mother’s Day!

We’ve rounded up dining deals and fun things to do with the lady in your life, from free visits at South Florida attractions to free entrees at restaurants.

We have a few ways to save on last-minute gifts and cards, too, so you can let Mom know you appreciate her without breaking the bank.


IKEA: Mom gets a free breakfast at stores in Sunrise before 11 a.m. She gets scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon and a cup of coffee.

Champps: This gift keeps on giving: Moms who dine at participating locations get a gift card loaded with $10 off a $25 purchase and it reloads on the first of every month for a year

Pei Wei: Moms signed up for alerts got a coupon e-mailed for a free dinner select entree through Sunday.

Free entree: Quarterdeck Seafood Bar and Neighborhood Grill is offering a Facebook coupon for a free meal when you buy three entrees and four drinks good at participating locations . There are locations in Fort Lauderdale, Davie, Plantation and Jupiter. The offer, one per customer, expires Wednesday.

Olive Garden: Get a free appetizer or dessert valued at $9 at Oliver Garden with purchase of two adult dinner entrees with a coupon that expires May 27.

Duffy’s Sports Grills are giving mother a free $5 gift card to be used on a future visit. Treat her to a surf & turf meal for $14.95 at all 24 SoFla locations.

Denny's: You and mom get a free Skillet Cookie ala Mode when you send her a Mother's Day wish through its Facebook fan page. If you don't have Facebook, click here.

Ruby Tuesday's:: Dine at Ruby Tuesday and Mom get a voucher for a free "Simply Fresh" cookbook valued at $15, while supplies last.

Hooters: Moms get 10 free wings at Hooters on Sunday at particiating locations. Dine-in only.

TCBY: Moms get a free cup of frozen yogurt on Mother's Day at participating locations. No purchase necessary

Fleming's Prime Steakhouse: Take her to Mother's Day brunch and she'll get a free $25 gift card good on a future visit. There are locations in Coral Gables and Orlando. Reservations are recommended.


Free admission to Butterfly World: Moms get in free entrance at the Coconut Creek attraction through Sunday, a $24.95 value for Ladies who identify themselves as a mom at the ticket booth. No coupon necessary. For everyone else, use a coupon for $4 off admission on Page 38 of Showtime, published in Friday's Sun Sentinel.

Flamingo Gardens in Davie Moms get free entrance with regular paid adult or kid admissions on Sunday ($18 ages 12 and up, $10 for kids 4-11, under 3 free). Extra treat: Plant-loving mothers can wander among hundreds of African violets and gesneriads during the Violet Patch of South Florida’s annual show and sale on Saturday and Sunday. Info at

Free admission to Cornell Museum of Art Old School Square in Delray Beach: Moms get in free from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday ($10 general, $6 seniors, $2 ages 4-12). Events include a fun afternoon featuring pirate myths and legends told through paintings of Don Maitz, the artist who created the buccaneer on bottles of Captain Morgan Spiced Rum.


$10 off AMEX Cards & BOGO Hallmark Cards: Publix is offering coupons for buy-one-get-one-free Hallmark cards and gift wrap and $10 off $100 AMEX Gift Cards with $25 grocery purchase; expires May 16.

$20 in freebies from Bath & Body Works: Send a free e-card with a coupon for a free $6 travel-sized product. Use another coupon to get a free $14 Fragrance Mist with any $10 purchase. VIP totes with $100 in products arrive in stores Friday, too.

Free movie rental and e-card: Mom gets a free movie rental on Sunday when you send a cute e-card from Redbox via Facebook. Sign up for text alerts and you'll get two free codes yourself.

Half-off deal: Get $10 off a $20 purchase with a coupon at the Body Shop through Sunday.

Free candle: Buy two, get one Yankee Candle large jar candles with a coupon good at select retailers through May 13.
