Mother's Day shopping and dining events around South Florida


May is the month for Mom to feel pampered.

Several South Flroida malls are celebrating mom and everything she does during throughout the month of May. Here’s a listing of events and shopping specials for moms this month:

Coral Square Mall and the Town Center at Boca Raton will host Mom’s Nite Out on Thursday, May 10, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event will feature style shows and demonstrations, retailer discounts and giveaways, raffle items, entertainment, food and samples from participating retailers.

At Coral Square Mall, moms will sample beauty and apparel products from retailes like Francesca’s Collections, Macy’s, JC Penney, Build-A-Bear Camilla Day Spa and In Style by Angelo as well as relaxing mini-massages.

At the Town Center at Boca Raton, Acro-yoga, Tai Chi, belly dancing and a master yoga class taught by Leslie Glickman is offered to all moms at the event.

“We believe that moms deserve ‘A Nite Off,’ so Simon malls are hosting a free event where they can enjoy their favorite destination in a new way,” said Lisa Bennett, Assistant Vice President of Business Development at Simon Property Group in a press release.

Shoppers have a chance to win a little black dress from Cynthia Rowley’s runway and a $500 gift card by visiting Simon guest services.

Visit Florida is offering an exclusive vacation from package to one lucky mom and three of her friends. The trip is to Bellasera Hotel in Naples. The grand prize also includes airfare and a $100 gift card to Zizi Restaurant, a Tuscan-inspired eatery specializing in fusion cuisine.

The giveaways are happening at both Coral Square Mall and the Town Center at Boca Raton.

From May 1-10 at the Gardens Mall in Palm Beach Gardens, shoppers who spend $350 or more can exchange their retailer receipts at the information desk for a bouquet delivery from Flower Kingdom.

Local delivery is included only in select zip codes (33401, 33403-33418, 33460-33463, 33467, 33458, 33480) and is not guaranteed by May 13.

Retailers inside CityPlace at West Palm Beach will be offering shopping deals on items for Mother's Day. Anthropologie is celebrating moms by offering 30 percent off all charms and charm bracelets. The Anushka Spa, Salon & Cosmedical Centre has a Mother's Day deal running: for $270, mom can get a facial, massage, manicure, pedicure, make-up and gift card - a $334 value.

At Bath & Body Works, shoppers will get a VIP tote bag with seven featured products inside (valued at more than $100) for $20 when you spend $40.

Macy's Mother's Day sale runs from Wednesday, May 2 to Sunday, May 13. Shoppers get 20 percent off select regular, sale and clearance apparel for men, women and children, an extra 15 percent off luggage, jewelry, watches, shoes, handbags, intimates and more.

The Pottery Barn at CityPlace is hosting a summer decorating class on Mother’s Day from 10-12 p.m.

At Victoria's Secret, shoppers get their choice of robe or perfume when they spend $75 or more in the store.

The Whole Foods Market on Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale will host a Mother's Day brunch on Saturday, May 12, from noon to 2 p.m. The event costs $15 per person and registration is required. Menu includes sparkling wine,parmigiano reggiano baked eggs with Swiss chard; red potato and asparagus salad; raspberry walnut salad with Mt. tam cheese. Call Whole Foods Market at (954) 565-5655 or visit the customer service counter inside the store to register.

IKEA in Sunrise is offering free breakfast for mom from 9 to 11 a.m. on May 13. She'll get free eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and a cup of coffee.
