Publix adding more craft beers

Publix grocery stores in South Florida are making room on their shelves for more craft beer.
As the company expands and remodels stores across the country, more cooler space is being added for new offerings like Cigar City, Lagunitas, Stone, Great Divide and Chimay. The Lakeland-based grocer already sells a variety of imported and domestic beer, and some stores have sections dedicated to craft and seasonal brews.
Plans for a larger selection are already in the works as stores transition into new spaces.
"As we develop new store prototypes and remodel our existing stores, we dedicate a larger section to beer. When we have more space available, it gives us the ability to carry a broader selection, which means new brands and more varieties of beer," said Kimberly Reynolds, Publix spokeswoman. "We have seen our 'discovery beer' customers looking for the latest and greatest craft and import beers."
Shoppers should check their local Publix for new offerings.
