Pollo Tropical to open in India

Pollo Tropical will open its first restaurant outside of the Western Hemisphere early next year in India.
The Miami-based casual chain has inked a deal to bring 10 stores to northern India through a franchise agreement. This will be the brand’s 11th international franchised market outside of the Latin America and Caribbean regions.
Paramount Cuisines Pvt. Ltd. In Delhi plans to open the restaurants starting next year. The India-based restaurants will sell the usual marinated grilled chicken dishes the brand is known for.
“It became apparent very quickly that this was a great fit,” said Marc Mushkin, Senior Vice President of International Development for Pollo Tropical in a news release. “The brand already has years of experience with Indian preferences in its Trinidad franchise, where South Asian immigrants comprise more than 30 percent of the population.”
Pollo Tropical plans to offer other franchise opportunities in India as well, according to a press release. The brand operates 90 restaurant locations in Florida and Georgia and 30 international franchise in Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, Ecuador, Honduras, Panama, Trinidad, Venezuela, and Costa Rica.
