Target opening at 9 p.m. on Thanksgiving for Black Friday

Target continues the retail trend of pushing Black Friday into Thanksgiving Day.

For the first time, the Minneapolis-based retailer will open its doors at 9 p.m. on Nov. 22, according to a release.

The retailer plans to offer 9 p.m. doorbuster deals on hot electronics and toys and also will offer additional deals starting at 4 a .m. It also will offer special deals online only at Target.com on Thanksgiving Day for REDcard holders.

“We heard from our guests that they look forward to kicking off their holiday shopping with deal-hunting on Thanksgiving night. Opening at 9 p.m. gives Target’s Black Friday guests a more convenient way to create an after-dinner shopping event that the entire family can enjoy,” said Kathee Tesija, executive vice president, Merchandising, Target, said in a release.

“Guests can shop with confidence throughout the entire holiday weekend knowing that Target offers incredible value on items for decorating, entertaining and gift giving.”

Some of the 9 p.m. deals: Apex 32” LCD TV for $147, Nikon L310 digital camera for $99.99, Nook Simple Touch e-reader for $49, Beats Headphones for $179.99, Sony PS3 console with two games and a controller for $199.99 and board games for $7.ole, two games and a wireless controller)

Bonus 4 a.m. to noon Friday doorbusters deals: Spend $50 or more on apparel, accessories or home products will earn a $10 Target GiftCard to use toward a future purchase. Also at 4 a.m., Target will release four additional doorbuster deals:
·Samsung 50” 1080p LED HDTV for $699, Canon A3400 Camera Bundle for $89.99, Fisher-Price Doodlepro Classic for $10 and Leapfrog Explorer Software for $15.

Target.com-only Thanksgiving Day deals online for REDcard holders: KitchenAid Classic Plus Stand Mixer for $199, Sony Portable Dock or $39.99, Lego Pirates of the Caribbean, The Black Pearl for $74.99, Barbie Furniture Set, for $35.00

Target holiday hours:
Nov. 22-23: 9 p.m. (Thursday) to 10 or 11 p.m. (Friday)
Dec. 24: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Dec. 26: 7 a.m. to 10 or 11 p.m.
