Get bridal jewelry at a discount

glam%20necklace.gif

Shop-o-matic fan Lisa points us to Glam For Less, an online bridal jewelry store that she used to help plan her November wedding.

"I found some great deals on jewelry sets for me and my bridesmaids," says Lisa, of Miami.

"The site helped me save money on my bridal jewelry and tiara. I purchased the Vine Headband, Studded Rhinestone Collar Jewelry Set (for myself) and Crystal Rosette Pear Drop Jewelry Sets (for my 5 bridesmaids). And my bridesmaids and I were very happy with the quality of all the products we ordered."

Thanks Lisa!

Wedding dresses for free!

wedding%20dress.jpg

Free bridal gowns are available for up to 25 women who are serving in the military or are fiancées of men serving overseas. Bridal Couture of Boca Raton is donating the wedding gowns, worth from $800 to $1,000, in a range of sizes.

In order to qualify for a free wedding dress, the brides must be engaged, be on active duty, or have a fiancée on active duty. A copy of deployment papers, orders, an ID, or any other documentation indicating active duty is required for the free gown.

Brides who are enlisted or are fiancés of men serving “are having a hard enough time as it is,” said Nicole Hochman, store owner, in her announcement. “A wedding dress should be the least of their worries.”

Bridal Couture is located at 8212 Glades Road in Boca Raton. Visit Boca Bridals or call 561-470-1140 for more information. -- Marcia "Bargain Hunter" Pounds

REMINDER - Friday's the big day - Filene's Bridal gown Sale - Aventura

We wrote about the 'Running of the Brides' last week, but in case you missed our post, it's worth a reminder. The infamous wedding dress sale starts at 8am Friday morning at the new Filenes at 17651 Biscayne Blvd, Aventura Florida.

Brides will come from all over the state, and probably NY, NJ, even the island of Jamaica, in hopes to find the dress of their dreams at a fraction of the price. There will be 1400 gowns, sizes 2-26, from designers and famous name bridal houses. They will be priced at $249, $499, and $699. At retail these dresses would cost between $900 and $10,000.

The doors open at 8am, expect a rush to the racks, so bring a friend, and grab what you can. You can trade later. Chaos reigns, followed by shrieks of excitement, and finally tears and applause as each bride finds THE ONE.

Best wishes to you.
