Coupons in Advance: Over $850 in coupons for Sunday November 8th

Be on the look out for over $850 in coupons in Sunday's Sun Sentinel. It's that time of year again....the holiday promotions have started!

The Walgreens insert has a $5 off $25 coupon in it, so that'll cover the cost of 4 papers right there. Walgreens doesn't track those coupon uses, so if you get 4 papers, you can use all four $5 coupons, good until November 14th. The Walgreens sale next week: Zephyrhills water $3.49; BOGO Club, CheezIt crackers, Keebler cookies; BOGO Scotch tape; Progresso soup 4/$5, and more, this $5 coupon is 'the bomb'!!

Remember, Donna counts all the coupons in the paper to come up with the $850, I only list what's in the grocery inserts. Click here to see what's in your Smart Source and Red Plum inserts.

Last minute Publix deals - Cheez its, Breyers, Glass Plus

I've been known to do my last minute coupon run at 10:30 in Publix on Wednesday nights...knowing the new sale will start on Thursdays. It's Wednesday, so if you haven't done a Publix run this week, there are a few deals you should take advantage of.

Breyers ice cream is BOGO with (2) .75 coupons from the 10/18 Red Plum, makes the $5.13 ice cream cost only $1.82. Glass Plus, also BOGO with coupons from 8/23 Smart Source becomes .75. And of course, the Cheez-it deal, with the $1.50 off 2 from the 10/4 Red Plum, makes the $4.10 crackers cost $1.30.

Time to stock up!!!

Printable coupon for 20% off at Coach Factory Stores

The Coach folks are sharing another coupon with us. We love those coupons!!

The last time I had one of these I got my daughter a 'birthday purse.' I don't usually spend so much, but you may remember, her beloved Coach purse was stolen at the beach a few months ago. I bought a similar $450 Coach purse at the outlet price, and on sale, so with the additional 20% coupon savings the purse was $160. Split with Grandma, it was painful, but I could swing it. And the look on her face was priceless, worth every penny!!

Sun Sentinel News in Education Handbag Sale Event - November 7th

handbag.jpgDon't miss the Sun Sentinel NIE handbag sale this Saturday, November 7th, where over 1,000 handbags will be sold to benefit charity. The event will benefit News in Education and Women in Distress.

The busy gals in NIE (News in Education) have been collecting new and used handbags for months. We've seen a parade of beautiful bags going up and down the aisles at the Deerfield offices.

The event will be held at Westfield Broward, formerly known as the Broward Mall, at Broward Blvd and University Drive. Look for them in the Center Court from 10am to 3pm, but get there early because the good ones will go fast. Now's your chance to get that brand name bag at a fraction of its retail price. The prices are going to be great.

Coupons in Advance: Over $750 in coupon savings in Sunday's Sun Sentinel 11/01/09

Sunday's going to be a big day for 'couponers.' There are three inserts: Smart Source, Red Plum and the P&GbrandSAVER. There's also a Publix Fall Savings insert...good coupons inside but they expire soon, 11/6. We've got to find those stackable scenarios now!! (Stacking coupons means using a Publix AND a manufacturer's coupon on the same item for added savings.)

For our regular visitors, you know to label your inserts with the date, and file them away to wait for a good sale. New coupon shoppers will be anxious to use them, but then you will be sorry next week when the item is BOGO (buy-one-get-one-free) and you can use two coupons.

For instance, lets say your favorite cereal is $4 a box. If you use a $1 off coupon now, you get the cereal for $3. But if you wait until the cereal is BOGO, and use two $1 coupons, then you get two boxes for $1 each. This is why we recommend getting at least two papers, well, two sets of coupons.

FREE, better yet, make money buying Quaker Oats

Oatmeal-Quick-Thumbnail_sflb.jpgWe try to save you money on groceries, but how about making money? Better yet! This is one of those complicated Walgreens deals, so pay attention!

Quaker 1-Minute Oats, 18 oz are Buy One, Get One Free this week with the coupon in the Walgreens weekly ad, found at the entrance to the store. Plus, if you spend $10 on Quaker products, you'll get a $5 Register Rewards.

Here's how you do it: Have them ring 4 cartons of Quaker 1 Minute Oats at $3.19 each, make sure the initial total is over $10, no coupons at first. Then hand them the Walgreens BOGO in-ad coupon, which should take off the price of two oatmeals. Then use 2 $1.25/2 coupons from the 8/30 RedPlum insert from your file of Sunday inserts. You spend $3.88 plus tax out of pocket, and get your $5 Register Rewards to spend at Walgreens next trip.

Sometimes there's a problem at Walgreens if you use more coupons than items, so I always get an 'insurance' item that doesn't take coupons, such as milk, or another sale item. This week, 12-pk sodas are 4 for $10, so it's a good time to stock up if you drink Coca-Cola products, A&W, Canadra Dry etc.

Coupons in Advance: Over $225 in coupons for Sunday October 25th

coupons1.JPGHave a look at this list to decide how many Sunday papers you're going to get this week. Get creative getting extra papers. some of you find them in recyclers, some get them from relatives or neighbors, some at the dollar store. How do you get extra coupons?

I did so well last week...I think we all did. I stockpiled Marie Callender's Al-Dente Meals to take to work for lunch, BOGO with $1 off 2 coupons, and got 4 free 'Snuggles.' The money I saved on these two items alone would have paid for 8 papers. Now the rest is gravy!!

We learned a valuable lesson this week, don't clip familiar names and toss your leftover coupons, then you'll be disappointed when an item is free and you threw the coupons away. Strategic shoppers shouldn't be brand loyal. You can clip the ones you know you'll use, but file the rest away by date, just in case.

Sunday, there's a coupon for $1 off Sara Lee (cheesecake) bites. Sounds like a good idea for those of us that just want a small taste of something sweet. Has anybody tried them? Are they worth the calories? Also $1 off Kiwi shoeshine products. Have you checked your supply, might need refreshing?

Lots more...click here to see the list. Keep in mind these coupon inserts vary from paper to paper. This list is specific to the Sun Sentinel.

Printable coupon for cheap Starbucks Frappucino

starbucks_frappuccino-123x300.jpgEvery afternoon when the 'sleepies' get me after sitting at the computer all day, I take what's left of my morning coffee, pour it over ice and add a little bottled Starbucks Frappucino. The Frappucino is too sweet straight, but diluted with black coffee it's the pick-me-up I need to finish the day.

I already told you I bought loads of it at a Walgreens sale with the $1 coupon from the paper, expired now. Then I restocked when Kmart did double coupons. I was just about to get panicky as I'm running out, I'm addicted, and I CAN'T pay retail!!!! Coupons in Advance: Preview over $180 in coupons in Sunday's 10/18 Sun Sentinel

I like the $1 off a Revlon tools coupon, use two when there's a buy-one-get-one-free sale. $5 off $25 printable coupon for Walgreens: Good Tuesday & Wednesday

Thanks Sandy for giving me the heads up on the $5 off $25 coupon at Walgreens. I love these because you can print as many as you want and use them all, one at a time, of course. No one's counting! Click here for coupon.

Warning, this coupons says in the fine print 'must be at $25 after all Walgreens and manufacturer's coupons.' I've never had anyone enforce that, have you? Normally, your total must be at $25 when you give them this coupon, so hand it to the cashier first, then use any manufacturer's coupons after the $5 coupon. Also, Walgreens computers will not take more coupons than you have items, so if you have lots of coupons, you'll need to buy a filler item...this is when I get something that rarely has coupon offers, like milk.

Coupons in Advance: Over $250 in coupons in Sunday's 9/20 Sun Sentinel

coupons1.JPGFriday...the day you all get to see the coupons that will be in Sunday's Sun Sentinel. There's one Smart Source and one Red Plum this week, with over $250 in coupons.

Although the coupon inserts look similar from paper to paper, there are variations. If you see a list on an Internet shopping site, it may not be exactly like ours. This list is specific to the South Florida Sun Sentinel, all zones.

If you are learning to shop with coupons (we just had this discussion) it's a good idea to date the insert and save it intact. Did you know the inserts are dated in teensy letters on the fold? If you only clip your favorite brand's coupons, you might be disappointed when you hear something is free or a moneymaker. (Like free Kleenex when you only clip Puffs coupons.)

Check the list...click here....it'll help you decide how many papers you need to get on Sunday. The magic number for a serious stockpiler is 8 papers, but get at least two so you can take advantage of BOGO sales.

Learning to shop with coupons? Get some tips from Shop-O-Matic

all.jpgWe get emails periodically from readers asking how they can learn to save big $$ with coupons. It's quite a science, but if you are shopping for a family, it is worth a few hours a week of your time. You'd be surprised how much you can trim off your household expenses.

I have a co-worker who said, "There might have been 5 coupon books in Sunday's paper, but there really weren't many good ones." My reply, "That's because you are brand loyal. You only look for coupons on your favorite brands, and throw the rest away."

A strategic shopper is not brand loyal. They will stockpile a good nonperishable sale item and then have enough to use for months, or even years, for pennies.

Reader, Irishgirl, left a comment on Coupon Chaos about All detergent being BOGO at Publix this week. She bought 6 at $2.97, only paid for 3 because it was buy-one-get-one-free, she used 6 $1 off coupons, got 6 bottles of laundry detergent for less than the regular price of one.

Frequent visitor and 'super saver', Andrea, tipped us off to a BOGO on Electrasol dishwasher detergent that was a moneymaker at Publix. BOGO at $4, she used 2 of the $2.50 off coupons, and made $1 on every two boxes. She bought enough that she has not had to buy dishwasher detergent all year. And thanks to her tip, I still have a few boxes left in my pantry as well. BTW, you don't actually 'make' money on a coupon, stores don't give you cash back, but the 'made' $1 comes off your total bill.

Another reader, Broward Mom, shared with us her good experience buying coupons on eBay so she could take advantage of a moneymaker on razors at Target.

Now that's strategic shopping! What are you stockpiling this week? --Super Saver Kathy

If you need to replenish your stash from no coupons over Labor Day weekend, you will be thrilled to hear there are five, yes, you heard me, FIVE coupon inserts in Sunday's paper. (9/13/09)

There are over $400 in coupons, and there are some good ones, check out the list. I recommend getting at least two papers, to take advantage of the buy-one-get-one deals out there. Did you know you can use two coupons with a BOGO at most stores?

Just to tease you, there's a $5 off any size bag Science diet dry dog or cat food, $1 off Lysol wipes, $1 off Hershey's Kisses, $2 off 2 Crystal Light drink mixes. There are some Publix coupons, $2 off Huggies, $1 off Scrubbing Bubbles, etc, which can be combined with manufacturers coupons. We'll be sharing ideas on how best to combine these coupons with store sales on this blog as well.

Click here for the complete list of coupons in advance. This should help you do the math, figure out how many papers you need to beg, borrow or steal...or find in the recycler...or get at the dollar store. Tell us how you get extra coupons.

Printable coupon: $5 off Enfamil Premium baby formula

1216EnfamilPremium_Large.pngIf you have babies, then you know how expensive formula and diapers are. A $5 coupon is worth shouting from the rooftops. (And you new Mommies will be thrilled to hear there's going to be a $2 Huggies coupon in Sunday's Sun Sentinel.)

Click here to print the Enfamil coupon. You should be able to print two, use your back button. Then forward this post to your friends and ask them to print you a few as well.

You'll get really lucky if they have a $5 off $25 promotion at Walgreens before this coupon expires so you can combine the two coupons. Just remember, with Walgreens, you'll have to buy a filler, because you can't use more coupons than the number of items you are buying. This is when I usually buy something that rarely has coupons, like milk.

Winn-Dixie has been generous with the $10 off $50 coupons as well. CVS often mails out the $4 off $20 coupons. If you are learning strategic shopping, an important thing to remember is to combine coupons when you can.

Coupons in advance: Happy Labor Day weekend

As is usually the case on a holiday weekend, there will be no grocery inserts in the paper on Sunday. There are, however some generous non-grocery coupons included.

Last night, I ate my last stockpiled can of Progresso soup from that incredible campaign they had last year, with the $1.10 coupon. Remember that one? It set my mind to wandering, remembering some of the great deals we've had since I've been blogging.

Do any of you remember the $5 Huggies coupon that was current at the same time Walgreens had a Register Reward offer on Huggies? Or the Garnier Fructis hair products that were free with the coupon? My daughter still has every Garnier product known to man, and then some.

Free Starbucks Frappuccino and ice cream with coupons

starbucks_frappuccino-123x300.jpgDo you still have your Smart Source from 6/21 with the coupons for $1 off Starbucks drinks, and $2 off Starbucks ice cream? Those coupons are expiring on 9/13, so this is a good time to use them.

At the double coupon Kmart event tonight, I bought the large single bottles of Starbucks Frappuccino on sale for $1.99, so with the $1 coupon doubled, it is free. Only two days left to do this deal, so hurry, double coupon event ends Saturday. (Rumor has it it's the last one.)

My cashier was soooo sweet and helpful, I gave her my $2 off Starbucks ice cream coupons. We've had way too many good deals on ice cream lately...Blue Bell, Starbucks...yummy, but the jeans are getting tight.

I'm listening to an audio of 'Eat Pray Love' on my drive to Deerfield every morning. I read the book last year and loved it, so now I'm listening. It's read by the author, Elizabeth Gilbert, and she's a great storyteller.

I skimmed through the India chapters when I read the book, too dysfunctional for me. I have enough dysfunction in my life already. But somehow I'm enjoying the audio more, as a captive audience.

Save $5 at Walgreens with this coupon

Okay, dear readers, here it is again. One of our favorite coupons! Save $5 off a $25 purchase at Walgreens with this printable coupon. It's only good today and tomorrow, so hop right to it. (August 5th and 6th.)

I like to print a few, just in case I find some great stuff in the clearance area. You can use one $5 off coupon, put the stuff in the car, and go right back in the store with another...unlike CVS, where the computer keeps track. So, which of this week's deals will you use it on?

Did you know each Walgreens has an area for clearance items? A few weeks ago I found some battery operated candles on clearance, I stocked up for my backyard boat parade party. The same ambience, without the worry (the toddlers love to play with candles.)

Coupon Chaos: Share your best savings tips to win free coupons

coupons1.JPGWelcome to Coupon Chaos, where you can leave your best savings tips and be entered to win free coupons.

KCK has taken on a new hobby, finding deals and posting for us.Thanks KCK, you are the winner this week, hands down. Email your address. I was behind in my prize mailings. Trish, I sent yours yesterday.

Lots of great school supply deals going on. Last week the Walgreens Sharpie deal was too good to pass up, buy one get two free. I bought some for my co-workers, we were all sharing one black marker. Now I'm looking for a steal on highlighters.

It's hard to keep up, with all the ad brochures chock full of deals: Office Depot, Office Max, Staples, Walgreens, Walmart, CVS, Target, Kmart...the list goes on. We need your help to sort this out. Where are you finding deals this week?

P.S. The 30% off Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic coupon was one of SunSentinel.com's most popular items last week...we love to see Shop-O-Matic's name on the 'hit' list. Sorry some of you had trouble opening it, I emailed it to the folks who reported in. And...the most important thing, did anyone buy something good enough to report to us?

Good ECB deals on Electrasol and Pampers at CVS

Don't say we didn't warn you....if you saved a few Electrasol $2.50 coupons from the Smart Source on 7/12, there's a good deal at CVS this week. If you buy $20 worth then you get $10 'extra bucks' back.

So the scenario is....buy 5 Electrasols, they are 2/$9, five will be $22.50. Use 5 $2.50 coupons, so that subracts $12.50, making your total $10, then get the $10 Extra Care Bucks back, making the Electrasols free. (Well, you put out the $10, but you get $10 Extra Bucks to spend at CVS.)

There's also an extra bucks reward on Pampers or Easy Ups. Buy 2 on sale 2/$20, get $5 ECB back. Use the coupons in the 8/2 P&G Saver...the Pampers are $6.50, the Easy Ups $6.

If you are registered online in the Extra Care Program then you may have gotten a $4 off $20 coupon. That made this deal even sweeter for me.

Coupons in Advance: Preview over $525 in coupons in Sunday's Sun Sentinel

Sunday's coupon stash is exceptional!! If you have a big family, I recommend you beg borrow or steal (no, don't steal, it's just an expression) at least 4 sets of coupon inserts!!! Buy 4 papers, or share with neighbors and friends, check the recyclers in coffee shops, however you get extras, this is the week to do it!

There will be over $525 in coupons in Sunday's Sun Sentinel. (Your friends will love you if you forward this post to them.) The five inserts include: 2 Smart Sources, a Red Plum/Unilever, a P&G Saver and a Fuel for School from Kellogg's and Keebler. In there you'll find a deal for a $10 rebate check from Kelloggs and a $70 coupon code from Dell when you send 10 proofs of purchase and store receipt (purchased in single transaction.)

I know this list will set some of our brains in motion. Where are the BOGOs? Where are the sales? What coupons can we match with these sales and BOGOs? It's best not to use coupons with an item at a straight retail price, leverage them to the max with strategic shopping.

Be sure to share your savings tips in our Tuesday Coupon Chaos blog. All over the blog for that matter. Don't be shy, ask questions, share tips. We love hearing from you. Click here for a full looonnggg list.

Foot Locker and Office Depot offer back-to-school discounts

Nike%20Team%20shoe.jpg

Office Depot and Foot Locker are teaming up to provide discounts on school supplies, footwear and apparel. Here's a kid's size Nike Hustle for $41.99.

With this team effort, parents can buy their kids new sneakers for school and get a $10 coupon off school supplies of $30 or more at Office Depot. Offer is good through Sept. 5.

It works the other way, too:

Shoppers that make a back-to-school purchase from Office Depot will receive a 20 percent off coupon to use at any participating Foot Locker, Lady Foot Locker or Kids Foot Locker retail locations. That might be the better deal, considering the cost of kids' shoes these days.

The offer also is valid for online purchases at www.footlocker.com, www.ladyfootlocker.com, www.kidsfootlocker.com. -- Marcia "Bargain Hunter" Pounds

Friends & Family Coupon: 30% off Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy

Four days of savings! July 30th to August 2nd, get 30% off at Old Navy, Banana Republic and Gap, including Banana Republic and Gap outlet stores, with this coupon. If that doesn't work, try this one.

When my daughter was in high school she worked at Banana Republic, and twice a year her family could shop on Friends & Family Day. She laughs at me because I still have, and still wear, a sweater I got in those days. And I still like it!

In this economy, all of us get to be Friends & Family! Let's see, what day of the week is the 30th? Thursday...hmmmm...I have to work on Thursday...but I'll be there Friday for sure. Maybe I'll find another 'infinity sweater.'

I used to be brand loyal to Tide, but now that I'm couponing, I buy the good deals. It makes me wonder, why was I brand loyal to Tide? Was it the smell, the bright colored bottle? Was it because my Mom used it...like mother like daughter? My niece tells me she will only use 'All,' that her clothes are too expensive to buy another detergent, no matter what the cost. Where did she get that idea?

Free computer tune-up at Staples plus $5 coupon

Staples is offering a free computer tune-up, a $29.99 value, until 9/19.

My home computer was running really slow...the frozen hourglass had become a semi-permanent fixture, causing me to reboot so much I couldn't finish anything. I took it to CompUSA, bought some more memory, and asked them what they offered in the way of diagnosing the problem. The answer was $130 for an evaluation and clean-up.

Needless to say, I took it to Staples. Free vs. $130? A no-brainer. Rob, the computer tech there, had learned more about computers in his 17 years than I will ever hope to know. They ran a program that took about 2 1/2 hours, don't ask me what they did, but let's just call it the 'hourglass terminator.' YAYYYY...it worked!!

My day off turned out to be the 'day of the computer.' I stopped at the Dollar Tree and bought velcro cord wraps ($8.99 at Staples, $1 at Dollar Tree) and spent a few hours under my desk organizing the spaghetti bowl of wires and cords. I bought a large handsome square basket at T J Maxx, and put all the neatly wrapped cords in there. I won't say it looks nice under the computer desk, but it sure looks better.

BTW- Look for a $5 off $30 Staples coupon in the ad in your Sunday paper.

Coupons in Advance: Over $325 in coupons in Sunday's Sun Sentinel - July 26th

You will be quite pleased with the Sunday coupon inserts this week. It'll more than make up for last week's weak coupon showing. Two inserts: Smart Source and Red Plum are chock full of deals for the savvy shopper.

There are lots of generous $1 off coupons included, as you will see. Lots of readers have asked questions about learning to save big with coupons. Saving with coupons is an ongoing learning process. My best tip is to save your coupons for sales, especially BOGOs (buy-one-get-one-free sales.) For example: a $4 box of cereal is $3 using one $1 off coupon, but if you wait for a BOGO, you get two boxes for $4, and can use (2) $1 off coupons, two cereals then cost just $1 each.

Other more experienced couponers are happy to share their savings tips in our Tuesday Coupon Chaos blog. All over the blog for that matter. Don't be shy, ask questions, share tips. We love hearing from you.

$9 off Huggies Diapers and Baby Wipes and Costco

Diapers are so darned expensive! I keep my Costco membership just because they have the cheapest diapers in town. Unless of course there's a store sale I can match with coupons, but it seems when they are a good price the sizes get picked over pretty quickly.

We still have a couple years to go. Have you found a cheaper way to buy diapers?
