Walgreens Coupon $5 off $25. Hurry, only good Tuesday

Sorry for the late posting, I had a few days off!!! Black Friday wore me out. I hope you all had fun, it was a busy time for blogging! So many sales! I'd love to hear about your good deals. Did anyone find something they couldn't live without?

Here's a Walgreens coupon good for $5 off $25. And Ben & Jerry's ice cream is 'buy one get one' this week. Bad for the diet, of course, but I only cheat when ice cream is on sale!!

These $5 coupons are great when you need the expensive stuff, like diapers. Sometimes I print a few, so I can stock up. Last night I got a few Revlon beauty tools for stocking stuffers, they are 'buy one get one' this week also...and I used manufacturers coupons for $2 off each, that I saved from a Sunday Sun-Sentinel insert. I got some $10 items for $3 each. You can't beat that!!

Use JC Penney coupon for small gift purchase

pajamas.jpg

On my shopping list this weekend are some warm jammies. Not only has it been a little chilly lately for this reborn Floridian, I occasionally head north during the holidays where I know I'm going to be freezing my fanny off.

No Victoria's Secret here. Something solid like J.C. Penney. My mother bought me a pair of pajamas a few years ago from JC Penney or Sears -- two department stores reliable for relative gift giving because items can be returned in other cities.

These PJ's look cute, for $24.99 to $28.99. I may look at these and possibly use JC Penney's $10 off coupon this weekend for items $25 and over.

I want to be warm, but since I fully intend to return to better weather, I don't want to pay a lot for it! -- Marcia "Bargain Hunter" Pounds

Free Dr Pepper for everyone in America on November 23rd

Music%20Guns%20N%20Roses.jpg

Dr Pepper, the soft-drink maker, said in March that it would give a free soda to everyone in America if the Guns n' Roses Chinese Democracy album came out in 2008. Chinese Democracy, delayed since recording began in 1994, will go on sale Sunday.

Tony Jacobs, Dr Pepper's VP of marketing, said "But now that it's here, all we can say is: The Dr Pepper's on us."

Starting Sunday, 11/23, at 12:01 a.m., coupons for a free 20-ounce soda will be available for 24 hours on Dr Pepper's website. They'll expire on Feb. 28.

VisitDrPepper.com Nov. 23.

To double check this information, I did a Google search and this article came up on MSNBC, MTV, Reuters, Billboard, Yahoo, and countless other websites and news agencies. Pretty good publicity stunt, Axl Rose.

What do you want to bet that the Dr Pepper website crashes?

Coupon for 20% off one jewelry item at Neimans Last Call

We reported not too long ago about a 'research trip' that two of our shopping bloggers, Marcia and I, made to the Dolphin Mall. There was so much to see that we only mentioned a few of the highlights. Have any of you gone there yet? Like it better than Sawgrass?

One of the 'unmentionables' was a gorgeous $1700 David Yurman pearl and silver necklace at Last Call that I have been dreaming about ever since that excursion.

Now, if I had a mind to go back for the necklace, this 20% off one jewelry item coupon would be worth a lot, wouldn't it? Unfortunately, my dreams would turn to nightmares if this working girl spent that kind of money on a necklace, even with the discount...but maybe you have your eye on one that you can't resist. If so, this coupon is for you....good starting on Wednesday, 11/19 until the 23rd.

Stretch your grocery dollar

With everyone trying to pinch pennies these days, don't forget the grocery store where we tend to buy with our stomachs.

I've found a new site for local grocery coupons, Mygrocerydeal.com. Put in your zip code and you can find deals get coupons for your favorite grocery haunts including Publix, Winn-Dixie, Walgreen's etc.

Checking for groceries near Delray Beach I found roast beef on sale for $3.49 a pounds and golden delicious apples for 99 cents a pound. More questionable were the marshamellow peeps on sale at Walgreens: Have they been around for last Easter or are they just early?

Every bit of savings helps these days, though, so worth doing your homework before heading to grocery shop. -- Marcia "Bargain Hunter" Pounds

Black Friday Blackout on Specials, Discounts

lowes.jpg

Earlier this week we told you about http://bfads.net/, a great site that tips you early about Black Friday specials.

Apparently, every year some retailers don't want you to know what their offers are too early. Boo to them.

They keep their lawyers busy with Cease and Desist orders. As of this morning, five have weighed in with their blackouts -- Walmart, Sears, Big Lots, Macy's and Ace Hardware.

Check Lowes.com for the sneak peak of the Lowe's Black Friday ad listing that was leaked by Lowe's. Some of the best buys include a Black & Decker 24-volt, 4-piece Cordless Combo Kit that was $159 for $59.97 and 14-gallon Shop-Vac Wet/Dry Vac that was $89.97 for $29. They also have decor such as the 3-piece 29-inch Bronze Casual Table with two buffet lamps that was $88 for $49. Remember, specials won't be available until Nov. 28. But you can start planning.

Thanks, Lowe's, for being a good sport!

Get $50 Visa gift card for Barbie dolls

barbie1.jpeg

It doesn't matter how old we are, we still love Barbie. What is it with that beautiful babe?

Well, maybe not all of us love "Caribou Barbie," but this is a shopping blog and I will try to keep Sarah Palin and her $150,000 wardrobe out of this for now. Sorry. Just couldn't resist the barb at the human Barbie.

Anyhow, your kids may be begging you to add to their collection, like this Mariposa Rayla, shown here, that is based on the Mariposa DVD. If you spend $100 on some Barbie merchandise, you can get the $50 gift to spend on anything you want -- shopping, gas or even groceries.

Just save the reciept and the original UPC code and mail them with the coupon. The offer expires Dec., 31, 2008. For the coupon and info, see barbiebucks.com.
Tempting, isn't it?

Happy birthday IKEA! Coupon w/ purchase this weekend

I still remember the brouhaha over the opening of IKEA like it was yesterday. How can it have been a year already?

This weekend, 10/17-19, IKEA Sunrise, FL, is offering a $10 gift card when you spend $50, if you bring the coupon from Thursday's Sun-Sentinel, page 18A. 10/16/08. There's also a coupon for a free meal. I heard the Swedish meatballs are great!

IKEA is located at 151 NW 136th Avenue in Sunrise. (595 West Exit 1) If you haven't been there, be prepared for a treat, but I'm sure it'll be crowded. Sometimes the traffic backed up into the parking lot looks just like the traffic entering a Dolphins game!

Neiman Marcus Last Call coupon

I went absolutely wild at Macy's Columbus Day sale this weekend! My daughter's birthday is this week...rather than her requested gift certificate, we decided to hit the sale racks. My favorite 'Additional 50%' signs were out! How can you not?!

Usually picked over, the casual clothes selection was great in the Junior Dept. $20 Ts were $7.48. I kid you not, we bought one in every color and two in her favorite color. Got three pairs of leggings marked down from $24 to $9. Jeans shorts from $36 to $6. Two darling sundresses $59 to $22. The register receipt was almost 2 feet long, and we only spent $202.

Did anyone else hit Macy's this weekend? We ran out of time (and money) ...couldn't get to Last Call's sale. Now, the Columbus Day sales are over, but Last Call has a new coupon offer:

If you missed the Columbus Day sale, use this coupon for savings until October 22:

Coupon for CVS Extra Care card holders

cvslogonew.gif

I apologize if you saw my CVS coupon offer Friday morning. Apparently, the link was to my personal coupon, and not a generic one. I contacted CVS for a generic replacement, so I could post that one instead, but CVS doesn't have a generic coupon offer at the time.

Joanne at CVS corporate offices said, "The best way to spread the word about a deal or a coupon is to encourage your readers to register their own email addresses as part of their ExtraCare membership. That way, they will get their own unique deals. Here is the link for people to sign up or add their e-mail to their account."

CVS Extra Care

I know we are all reluctant to share our email addresses, the spam can be soooo annoying, but the CVS Extra Care program is a money saver. I know, I know....who can keep track of all the 'dad-blasted' little membership cards??? A royal pain, but well worth it, if you are into saving $$$.

For example, this week Cover Girl foundation is $5.49. I bought the foundation, got $5.49 back in Extra Bucks. And I used the manufacturer's coupon from Sunday's paper, for $1 off, so I actually made $1 profit on the item. Now, that's my kind of shopping!

Go to your closet. Do you have clothing that you haven't worn in a year? Give away all those things that don't fit or no longer ring your chimes and feel really good about it. Not only can you help someone else, you can also help your wardrobe.

Stein Mart is sponsoring a "Give & Receive" program with The Salvation Army Oct. 2-4. All you have to do is bring a "gently used" item to any Stein Mart and get a 20 percent coupon to use on any one item you buy at the store. The limit is four coupons per person. And tax receipts are available.

Sounds like a great deal I'm going to clean out my closet right now. How about you? Go to www.steinmart.com to find a store near you.

Don't wait until you need something to buy it

refund.JPG

It’s been a few weeks since I discovered Coupon Mom. I've taken a few weeks to learn my way around. I encourage you to try it!!

Watch Coupon Mom video

For example: I saved some coupons from a Kelloggs promotion a few weeks ago, $1 off two items. This week Kellogg cereals are buy-one-get-one-free (BOGO) at a few stores.

If I were really good at this, I would have found the cheapest store for Kelloggs cereal that had a BOGO offer and used my coupons there. I worked late and had to go to the 24 hour CVS, where the regular prices were in the $4+ range.

I bought one box at $4.29 and got one free, and used the coupon for $1 off two boxes. The final price for two boxes of cereal was $3.29, or $1.65 each.

If you clipped the $10 rebate form from the same Kelloggs promotion, you could get a $10 rebate for buying 10 of the Kelloggs items. There are some good deals out there if you have the time and the patience to stick with it.

AND, if you used the 'Extra Care' CVS weekend $3 off coupon, (who can keep track of all these little papers?) then $42.90 worth of cereal came to a whopping $3.50. $3.50 for 10 boxes of cereal!!! I'm sold!!! Who can resist such a savings?

Send your expired coupons to the military

Did you know that our military can use manufacturers coupons for 6 months after their expiration date?

Want to share your coupons with our military families? Only send coupons that are current or a month or two beyond the expiration date. Don’t forget the time for transit and distribution.

If possible, try to sort coupons into smaller envelopes in the same categories you would use. At the very least, sort them into FOOD and NON FOOD if possible.

They have to be addressed to a specific individual, Coupons sent to generic addresses will not get delivered. Ask at your post office about flat rate APO packaging to save on postage. Here are two addresses that were provided on couponmom.com:

Base 1:
Thomas Leugers
USAG-UD CMR 419 Box 1467
APO AE 09102

Base 2:
Volunteer/Outreach Coordinator
ACS-10th ASG
Unit 35115
APO AP 96376-5115

If you have a loved one in the military who could use manufacturers coupons, please send me the address. I'll be glad to post it.

Coupon mania

Everybody’s clipping coupons these days. Why not? With the cost of groceries, every little bit helps.

The Sunday paper is, of course, the mother-lode of coupons. I found a $3 coupon for a L’Oreal cleansers and moisturizers, $1 off Pledge cleaning wipes and $2 off Revlon cosmetics – all products I already use.

That’s the trick. You don’t want to buy items just because you have a coupon.

The Internet is another source of coupons. Coupons is the main source. You can type in your zip code and fi nd coupons in your area. For our Delray Beach office address, I found these coupons: I found $1 off Perdue chicken breast strips, $1 coupon for Tylenol and $1 off Boston contact lens solution – darn! I just bought that!

You can also google a name brand and see if there’s a coupon available. All of this takes preparation for a shopping trip. But if done routinely, it could start to pay off.

Did you find a good coupon recently? Tell me where or post the link here. -- Marcia "Bargain Hunter" Pounds

ShopStyle's new Website

daybed.jpg

Those who think they know what we want on the Web keep talking about a "sense of community." Translation? We want to be able to connect with others of like interests and share ideas and problems.

Shopstyleliving.com calls itself "the first social shopping site devoted to home decorating." I love the idea. It's a great place to shop, discover new brands and share ideas with family and friends.

One of my fave features is you can set price alerts. The site will send you an email when your selected items goes on sale. How cool is that? The site brings together all the current deals, promotion codes and free shipping offers in one place.

You can also assemble a Stylebook of your fave looks for a room, occasion or trend that you can share with others. You can upload your own blog or blog with others.

XOXO -- Shopper Girl

P.S. Here's a great daybed cover from Pottery Barn that was $79 and is now on sale for $54.99. Not your thing? There's plenty more. Check it out and let me know what you think.

On-line shopping using couponcabin.com

Even if you’re not a “coupon person,” the five-year-old web site, couponcabin.com, is worth perusing before shopping online.

There are typically more than 950 on-line merchants and 3,000 coupons every day. So why not get at $5 off a $50 purchase at Target? Why not save $20 off of three-months of Weight Watchers on-line? Why not save up to 40 percent on gift certificates from restaurant.com?

coupon.jpg

A couple of things to keep in mind:

- Those restaurant coupons often have restrictions. You might need to order two entrees or eat during certain hours.

- If you start shopping at Coupon Cabin, you’ll be redirected to the participating merchant site. Most of the sites will automatically give you the deduction, but you’ll sometimes be asked for a coupon code which appears in blue type on Coupon Cabin.

While the coupons are mostly for on-line shopping, there are a handful of printable coupons that you can take to a brick and mortar store. Best thing about couponcabin.com is that you don’t have to register or give your e-mail address.

The site attracts about 1.6 million unique visitors every month.
