Since we do so much nowadays on computers, and they are such a big investment, it's important to take good care of them. Keeping your computer clean will extend the life of your investment.

I used to catch the kids trying to wipe the screen with a paper towel or tissue. Make sure your children know to only use special screen cleaning wipes, which you can pick up at an office supply store.

Now I am convinced that I am a sports illiterate. I thought Jimmy Johnson was a football coach. And here comes another Jimmie Johnson in NASCAR. Who says a Home and Garden Editor can't learn new tricks?

Anyhow, here's the news: Lowe's is offering customers 10 percent off Kobalt tools, tool storage and truck boxes. The offer begins today and runs through Nov. 19 in all Lowe's in the U.S. and Canada. It applies on all in-stock Kobalt tools. The discount will be taken at the register.

I also learned about the connection. Kobalt Tools has been sponsor of the Kobalt Tools 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway for the past two seasons. Johnson also drove the No. 48 Kobalt Tools Impala SS in eight races this year. Here he is with his latest trophy in an Associated Press photo.
