What time do you eat Thanksgiving dinner?

ThanksgivingFeast.jpg
I'm a Midwesterner, which means I like to eat at noon, or 1 at the latest. My logic: That way you eat twice.

My wife and her sister seem to gravitate toward, oh, midnight. Well, actually 4 p.m., maybe 5 p.m.

We've been married 14 years, and I've lost the 1 p.m. eating argument every single year.

Simple question today: What time is Thanksgiving dinner at your house? Maybe if you all say 1 p.m.....

Ha..We eat at 2:00 and that has caused turmoil with in-laws for five years!

Sorry, Nick, but we also eat Thanksgiving dinner at 4 or 5 pm. 1 pm sounds like when we used to eat Sunday dinner when I was a kid.

Haha! I never knew why but now I feel I guess normal, but my family eats Thanksgiving dinner so early! We eat around 1 in the afternoon. But I guess that leaves room for a nap after a big turkey dinner. Then when you wake up its time to eat more and this time it includes yummy desserts!!!!

Are you kidding me?
Its Thanksgiving "dinner"!
We eat @ 6 or 7 pm. Of course we eat appetizers, sample some of the food throughout the day. And there is never an arguement about the time.

We usually eat around 2:00. Earlier dinners accommodate relatives who have to travel a longer distance, so they can head back home in the evening at a decent time.

It also leaves time for a bike ride or a run after dinner to work off the extra calories!

Hey, good point on the appetizer thing. Some years I've filled up on chips, maybe a beer or two and the vegetable platter, then we go eat.

So, I'll frame it this way: Those of you who say you eat at 6 or so are really eating at 2 or 3, probably, just not eating the turkey.

Hey Nick,
We always eat Thanksgiving dinner sometime between 1 p.m and 3 p.m. That way, you can still have a turkey sandwich later. :-) ... And you have time after dinner for a nice, long walk to take off some of the calories.
Or play Frisbee. Or touch football. Or toss a baseball. Or shoot some hoops ... the point is to do something fun with your family other than eat and watch football.
