Magic Kingdom not so magical for this mom

I'm just back from a trip to Disney World's Magic Kingdom.

Someone please remind me why it's worth $150 for a parent and child to ride four or five rides disney.jpg
and spend the rest of the time fighting over what souvenirs to purchase.

One of my sisters spent a fortune flying here from Oklahoma to take her three-year-old to Disney World. But he didn't feel well and screamed his head off most of the time. He even threw himself on the ground and kicked his legs while flailing his arms. That's something I thought was made up by TV actors.

He wanted to buy a plastic sword, and then he wanted to buy a gun instead. And then it was something else. He wanted to be carried, he didn't want his cousins to share the stroller with him. Etcetera etcetera.

He's really cute, so I found the whole thing amusing. But I felt sorry for my sis who spent all that money.

You can't really count on kids to actually enjoy the place. That's the problem.

Honestly, that kid just sounds like an annoying little spoiled brat.

Man, I'd send that brat to the local park and let him play on the swings. Finish it up with a McDonalds Happy Meal!

I hear ya. But even I supported her decision to buy him what he was screaming for, just to prevent the Great Disney Experience from being ruined.

The only time I had fun at Disney we went with friends that were going via the "Make a Wish" foundation. We got to cut in front of all the lines.
I felt kind of sheepish doing it but got over it.
What makes the memory better is the little girl that was sick is now a thriving teen.

We just were in Disney this weekend with our 3 year old. He loves it so much there and he's so good. It's probably his 6th visit so he's used to the place. We never buy souvenirs so he doesn't even ask for them. Maybe he's the exception but we had a great time and are going back again in January.

Maybe I'm the exception but I believe a 3-year-old is too young for Disney World. We waited till our kids were closer to 5 and had a great time!

I agree, 3 is too young for the expense of that place. As for the behavior, that goes back to the parents, else, the kid was just over-tired.

Turns out the poor thing had an ear infection. I think the place is way overpriced. My sister's a great parent, by the way!
