What could she have been thinking?

The police reports so far are mind-blowing: A mother may have purposely set the fire that killed her 11-month-old daughter. She and her 2-year-old escaped.

Could this just all be a terrible mistake? Did she intend to burn down the home, but not injure her children??

What do you think?

I don't know how someone could store gasoline in a condo that contains burning candles. I don't understand how a mother could leave a burning condo with her eleven month old baby inside.
GUILTY

Have her see a doctor.

This is a rough one as there is evidence on both sides of the issue, with none of it being conclusive. I tend to believe she is guilty but there is not enough evidence to make me sure in my own mind that she is. She has another very young child that she saved, and the baby was at that age where most people think they are adorable. I think it would be very hard for a baby that age to spur the mother to a rage that led to murder. The presence of gasoline IS suspicious, as was the fact that she went to the laundry room to charge her cell phone. She appeared to be close to her neighbor, as that is where she went when she needed help. Why didn't she leave the phone at the neighbors to fully charge, then come back without leaving her infant children alone. Also, as anyone with a cell phone knows - if you really want to recharge the phone you cannot do it briefly (and if you think "briefly" is enough - then the phone really didn't need to be charged). So there is all this evidence that would lead to a hunch that she was guilty, but certainly not enough evidence to establish her guilt "beyond a reasonable doubt" which is the standard in a criminal proceeding.

The state is overreaching here and responding heartlessly to a tragedy. She will be exonerated.

I am sometimes ashamed of one or another of our governments; this is one of those times.

Why would a mother want to kill her own child, no matter how hard times are.The judicial system is just using this as cover up .She will be freed, the truth will come to light.

For someone to purposefully light their child on fire they would have to be crazy. Do you know what it is like to burn alive or to even to imagine someone burning alive? I know this young lady, when she was younger she used to teach Sunday school (the little ones). Shosheena is not crazy. I do not understand a system that that would take a tragic accident and turn it into a crime.
