Jessica Simpson makes shoes for little girls
Baby needed a new pair of shoes, so I headed to Stride Rite at Broward Mall.
And before I could enter the store, I had a WTF moment. There was three shelves of shoes by Jessica Simpson, for girls.
GIRLS.

And, yes, I'm talking about that tart Jessica Simpson who has taken being blond, busty and a bumbling idiot to the bank.
What kind of message is this sending to our girls. Have you gotten these shoes as a gift from the clueless aunt? Or did you, gasp, buy them yourself for your little darling in a moment of weakness??
Let's talk!

Shut up already. Nasty gossip mongers are becoming boring and so predictable.

Those shoes look like other kids shoes that I have seen around. Seem to me that this is just a case of a jealous nasty gossip monger.

R u kidding? This is NOT that bad. And, these shoes are made for girls about 8 yrs and up. Give me a break. Did I buy some Jessica shoes for my daughter, "yes", however, I did buy her the AWESOME silvery black ballet-like flats. Although, I would've bought the heels, if it were the right occassion and my 10 yr old wanted them. BTW, that is hardly a "heel".

I don't think it's appropriate. I believe little girls should stay little, when they have the time they have their entire lives to be big girls on wearing heels, makeup and certain clothing.

little girls should be little girls not little sex synbols or little fashionistas. They should be wearing sneakers so they can play and excercise and be active insead of heels where they will be sticking their fingers down their throat to fit the stereotype fashion image.

This is the little girls mother's who miss the sex chase trying to imprint their
desires on their daughters.
Don't deny it ladies face up
to it.

Ananymous: Actually the main issue I have with the shoes is who is shilling them. I don't think Jessica Simpson should be the one marketing to our little girls.
Thanks for your comment!

KD & Jennifer : Thanks for your sensible responses. Girls should be able to pal around, and play dress-up but these shoes go by Jessica Simpson go too far.

Billy Bob : That's one thought. Thanks for sharing.

The "pervs" are gonna LOVE them!

This is nothing new. Stores like Old Navy, Gap Kids, and Limited Too have been selling tiny mini skirts, belly shirts, and string bikinis for 6-10 year olds for at least a decade. You said your problem is who is selling the shoes. Does it make a difference if it's a publicly traded company "shilling" these clothes for a "baby 'ho" instead of the blonde celebri-tard you mentioned?
No, it shouldn't matter. There are all sorts of inappropriate clothing, toys, and books aimed at our children by seemingly upright and "family friendly" corporations. The difference is the decision the parents make in clothing their children.
It just seems funny to be suddenly shocked and appalled when this sort of thing has been going on for a long time. I suppose kudos goes to J.S. for finally bringing your attention to it?

I have the solution. Dont like them? Think they're innapropriate? Don't buy them. Problem solved. Bashing hating and name calling isnt going to get them off the shelves. Take comfort in the fact that you are raising your girls and not someone else, but dont criticize others.

Love them & think it's great that Jessica is selling these shoes for kids. She is a great role model & will be a fantastic mother.

personally I wouldn't buy that for my girl until she was at least 13 years old but to each their own.

What a waste of blog space, Joy. You are obviously jealous of Jessica and her many, many successes. Get over it... I see similar little girl shoes everywhere out there. You need to stop trying to taint Jessica's endeavors. HATER!

Who are you to judge anybody with your "WTF moment" quote? What a mouth you have!

Uh oh, Joy. Looks like you got the Jessica Simpson fan club after you!
So wait, what's the big deal here? Is it Jessica Simpson as a role model? Or are the shoes not age-appropriate? Or are you just hating on Jessica? :)

I would not put my child in that large of a heeled shoe but the Jessica Simpson girls line of shoes has many choices and many, very, very cute!

Roxanne : You're right, there are many shoes in the line that aren't offensive. In the store window, the ones I saw were to sexy.
