Mom on the Go: The Best Goodie-Bag Gifts?

I have the Crayola-colored streamers, the Curious George plates and the menu.

But I'm stumped as to what to give 13 kids as party favors. I'm looking for something 2 year olds would get a kick out of that won't break my bank.

I'm toying with stuffing the bags with bubbles, Play-Doh and a Goldfish-shaped snack box. goldfish%20crackers.bmp

But should I scrape it all for a board book about Curious George? I'm desperate for some gift ideas.

The gift (or gifts) should be suitable for a 2 year old that still stuffs small objects in the mouth.

I did curious george themed party several years back. I included the link, see if there is something you may be interested in.

I loved the idea of making banana splits! Though that would be messy for goodie bags.

Thirteen two-year olds at birthday party, jacked up on sugar and worn-out from lack of nap? Are you insane? These kids won't remember the party a week after it happens...This is totally absurd! Two year olds DO NOT need birthday parties for their "friends"!

At that age it's not what they get it's how they get it. I think a cute idea would be to buy little trinkets at the dollar store wrap them up as presents and but them in a treasure box and before they leave letting them pick their gift from the box.
My three year old comes home with junk from his school that if it was at the store he wouldn't care less about it; but since he picked it from the treasure box it's the highlight of the week.
So, don't stress. Let your two year old choose between the couple of little things you mentioned or the board book. It will make it special to him that he got to choose.

Carol: I consider this party much like a play date. My daughter will be thrilled to hang out with her friends. (And she should be rested since her nap time is before the party starts).

You do bring up a good point that the party (and gifts) may be quickly forgotten. That's one reason why I think Commenter Gifts suggestion of creating a treasure chest of inexpensive goodies is brilliant.

For the goody bag, instead of gold fish, why not put a banana, animal crackers, and some stickers with the picture of a monkey on them. At 2 years of age, bubbles are fun also. Little ones have a great time chasing the bubbles that mom or dad blow for them. Bananas are abiut 40 cents a pound at Sams,or BJ's and animal crackers aren't terribly expensive. You can find great stickers at the dollar stores, a party store, or even at BJ's by the greeting cards.I hope the party is a success.
