Mom on the Go: Celebrating Dr. Seuss
One fish, two fish, happy birthday wise fish! ![]()
Dr. Seuss would have been 105 years old today. Parents and libraries across the world are marking the day with readings and parties for the man behind some of the most-beloved children's books.
In our house, One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish is a favorite. As a graduation gift for high-schoolers I love giving the book Oh, The Places You'll Go.
Today at 3 p.m., Greenacres will have a special reading of Dr. Seuss books for children ages 7 and older. The kids will also be able to create Seuss-inspired crafts.

My wife just told me that Leo loves Green Eggs and Ham. So, required reading for all in leadership and all three-and-a-half-week olds!

We're a bilingual family and when my kids were young, I got quite a chuckle listening to my mother read Hop on Pop in her accented English to my daughter. Then I noticed that my three year old was quizzically looking at her Abuela, who had always read and spoken to her in Spanish. Her eyes, wide as saucers, seemed to be saying, "When did you learn to read English, Abuela?"
