What's your cat's favorite toy?
Since my blogging colleague, Angie Brennan, is taking a few days off I figured the timing couldn't be more perfect to weigh in on her search for the perfect dog toy.
GET A CAT!
That photo to the left? That's Toby with a pair of socks. Every morning, he sits on the bed while I get dressed. Every morning I pull out a pair of socks for Tobes. One pair will keep him happy for a good five minutes. My cats love pen caps and bottle caps, shoe horns and empty boxes.
Aren't cats easy?
What do your cats like to play with?

All my cats, without exception, have loved those little stuffed animals that are covered with fabric and look like butterflies, dogs, mice, etc. and are filled with a cruchy substance. They are made by Fat Cat, Inc. and are called the "Crackler Series." You can find them at Petsmart. The cats have all loved them, especially the one that looks like a butterfly. Also, the Turbo Scratcher, which is a large plastic disk, about two-three feet across, with a scratching material in the center and around the outside, there is a trough with a ball in it....they can see the ball and bat it thru the trough but can't get it out. They love to play with these two things.

Definitely lots of boxes around my house. I spray paint the outside of them black, which makes them more aesthically pleasing than advertising.
Another favorite is the rings from milk jugs and orange juice jugs.
...and finally, I use my husband's old socks, fill them with catnip and tire them with a knot. One of my cats takes the sock in his mouth and drags it along under his legs, while making very strange noises. I do have a picture of him doing this and have never figured out what this behavior means. He does it daily though.
