i loved Gilmore girls and Im really upset to find out that the final season has come. please try to see what you can do about bringing them back. they are the best i love all of them.

I feel like Canceling my Superstation Subscription! I don't like the new stuff they have come up with,its dull,boring. I could get lost in that program and forget my life for an hour every Tuesday night. I want Stars Hollow Back, now, darn it!!!!

This is a grave day in television. This is a truely awesome, real, and beautiful show. There are not many shows that have the ability to touch so many in a positive manner. You owe the fans to finish this series in a way that does justice to a series of this calaber. If there are problems amongst the cast pay them more to move on and finish this or wait for the issues to blow over. There is an awesome outcry from the fans at this point. This should show you, the PEOPLE behind the curtain That there needs to be a review in the thinking that ended this series. If you have to postpone ,postpone it but do not end it like this! Gilmore Girls should live to see another day!

Ugh I had no idea the show was canceled until just now. I'm not much of a TV watcher, but I love this show. Ruined my morning! I need more.

Bring Gilmore Girls back!! That was the worst ending ever!! Logan and Rory would not just break up like that and that kiss between Luke and Lorelai was pathetic! AND what about Sookie?! She's still pregnant!!!!! Too many open ends and I'm totally heart broken! Bring 'em back and end it right!!!

I watched each and every season. I still can't believe it's over. The writers on the show will be missed. I wish WB would consider another season. Rory and Loreai quick remarks will be missed. As a devote viewer, I do have to say the ending was disappointing. I expected a lot more from Rory & Logan.

It's sad that the last episode wasn't the best. It could have been so much better. Someone might want to re-think ending Gilmore girls. There are a lot of angry, sad, disappointed fans out there. Me included! The fans, the writers, and the cast all deserve an ending they can be proud of!!!

i cant beleive its over, i wish it hasn't, i didnt even watch the last ep. i was too sad, its just not enought i think one more season would sadisfy everyones need for the Gilmore's. i love them so so so much they are like a part of my family, and my life everything i can't get a hold of in my own life i look at them and it all seems to be soo similar! i just really dont want it to end!!!! i think we should boycott till they do another season! This really sucks! I can't believe it is over and it seems like short notice. I read the interview with Graham in TV guide and she said that they showed tribute to everyone in the cast. What about Rory's Dad. Shouldn't he have been at the big party or at least a mention of why he couldn't make it. The only other thing that I am disappointed in is that Rory should've said yes to Logan with the understanding that it would be a long engagement. She could still have taken the job and that would justify the long engagement. They had been through so much as a couple and survived viewers would be able to believe that they would make it through this. I don't think he would have a problem with her being a working wife. He knows how she is and to just be a socialite wouldn't satisfy her. I think that that storyline would be totally believeable instead of just bluntly ending in the way they did. Because we all know how much she will be missing him. I think they belonged together.
I am just really disappointed that the show ended!

This ending sucked!!! Just like all season we got no info. They just give us like a little bit and then end and when they came back it was still nothing. And the last 3 or so episodes were great and I was so shocked they were ending. They was no ending wow a kiss nothing more and what about Rory's dad he wasn't even in the ending or Paris it sucked and I agree with everyone especially if they also take off One Tree Hill I will not watch CW anymore... I have watched this show with my mom every Tuesday until I don't remember when and we watch One Tree Hill. Please Please rethink ending this show

I would like to say that Gilmore Girls is the best family show ever made. And i'm really upset and quite annoyed that it has come to an end. although the ending was positive.. can we atleast see 1 more season and see luke and lor get married?! come on. For fans that have stuck around for all 7 years, like me, we would have really appreciated seeing them get married rather than kiss.

this show should not have gotten cancelled. There are plenty of ways to make the show more eye catching and creative for the viewers, rather then end it.

I love Gilmore Girls and i am gonna miss it. as a teen it gave me a sense of realism. this show showed me that, even if you make a mistake(getting pregnant at 16, for example) happens to everyone. you can still have a good life. i'm really gonna miss the characters, because they seemed so real to me. Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel did such a great job bringing reality to thier characters. My and my mom have become closer after watching this show. thank you for keeping it this long, but it be nice if you could keep it goin. thank you CW and Warners. for such a great show, and i am gonna miss it a lot.

Gilmore Girls is my favorite show. I love watching with my three daughters. My girls love it the know all the words to the open song and the sing it everytime. I would really hate to see them go of air for good.

I cannot believe that they are taking Gilmore Girls off the air do to contract reasons. This is a show that I enjoy watching every week that takes my mind off of everyday things. To relax with the gilmores. What really makes me sick is that they keep the crappy shows on and keep taking away all the great ones. Its only a matter of time that it will come back to haunt them when the ratings start to take a noise dive. It is time to change the channel. Gilmore Girls is great tv. Why dont they take off the reality shows, those are what needs to go top model, pussycat dolls etc. CW has lost one loyal watcher and I am sure many more to follow. They are making a very bad decision.

Last season i was kind of bored, but its REALLY interesting now and i want to what happens with Luke and Loreli, and Logan and Rory.

I was EXTREMELY shocked to hear that Gilmore Girls is ending forever! I need Gilmore Girls to survive!! Why would anyone want to stop it when it just started to get intense!? What is going to happen? Are Luke and Lorelai going to get back together? What about Chris? How will Rory live her future life without Logan? What about lane and her twins? If there are so many questions, how can you answer them all in one episode? DONT TAKE THIS SHOW OFF! YOU ARE ENDING IT TOO SOON!!!!!!!

I have been watching Gilmore Girls since day one. When I was prego with my daughter and on bed rest that is what I watched. Now since my was born every time she hears the theme song she comes running to watch it with me. Please dont cancel the show. I abusolutley love it and cant picture Tuesday nights with out it... I know that is a bit extreme but it is the truth!!! If there is anyway for you not to cancel it please dont!! I am intreged to see what happen with the Girls...

I can not believe the show is ending. If there is one show I was all the time it would be this show. There is still so much to be said with this series... What happens after she finishes school? What happens with Lorili and Luke?? This show can't end. Its my get away.

I was so hurt to hear about Gilmore Girls ending. The show has been such a great comfort and friend that I will miss it. The sudden news of the ending of the show won’t allow long-time fans to mourn its departure. The quick ending will not do justice to the show and allow fans to finally see Luke and Lorelai together (married, with children, helping raise April), Luke and April’s relationship, Rory’s future goal, etc. It would be great if we had another season (even a mini season) to tie up the loose ends and say our farewells. I guess that’s it for me watching CW, Gilmore Girls was the only show I watched on that station and now their taking away a great show. How sad!

This is truely insain!!! There is no way that GG can be wrapped up in one final show! So many people will be very upset. I can not believe this. They need to get rid of all the other junk on TV and leave GG alone. They need one more season at least to give thier fans a proper farewell!!!

I just can't believe it's ending. I have been watching Gilmore Girls since it started. My husband calls me an avid fan of Gilmore Girls. I look forward every Tuesday knowing I will be watching my show. I even have all seasons except the last on DVD. I never missed an episode & I'm just really sad it's ending. I want to know if Logan will try to propose again. I want to know what will happen to Luke & Lorelai. I think if "Friends" can do 10 years, I think Gilmore Girls deserve 10 years. My mom, My sister, and I watch Gilmore Girls every Tuesday. We were VERY disappointed when we heard that it was being canceled. I started crying because Gilmore Girls is like "my show". I need it! The series finale is going to be all rushed now because of the whole Luke and Lorelai situation! It's going to be like ZOOM, ZOOM, ZOOM to get everything wrapped up. This sucks! I am sad to hear that the Gilmore Girls are over. There is too much that is still open and questions that need to be answered. please let us find out what is to happen with everyone. I am a mother of four boys this is my get away place. The only time i can have my T.V. time. I am so sad abuot what is happening. All we ask is for you to give us a closer just like a brake up we need this. We use this time to get away from are world and are every day life to get away and get locked into the story life of the Gilmore Girls.

I am in shock and awe that Gilmore Girls would be canceled. I understand if it is because the cast wants to retire, but they could give more of a heads up. Gilmore Girl fans need acceptance and closure time. I know that sounds a bit crazy, but Gilmore Girls is my get away, it is where i go to relax, laugh, and be captivated by the people and small town feeling of Stars hollow. PLEASE don't end it!!!

There are NO words to convey how devastated I am about this being the final season for the Gilmore Girls. I LOVE the show and the characters. I can't tell you how much I have looked forward to watching each episode. It was such a pleasure to watch and it was a weekly treat for me, even when I wasn't very happy that Lorelai and Christopher got married. It got my adrenaline going for sure, but it was all in fun and enjoyable entertainment. I am truly, truly going to miss this show.

What a great job everyone has done on the show, the producers, the writers, the directors, anyone who was involved with the production, and especially the actors who made the show so believable, humorous and heart-wrenching at times. Thanks everyone for seven wonderful seasons. You will be missed more than you can imagine!!

OMG, I'm so sad to see the Gilmore Girl show go!!:( It was my favorite show ever, out of all the T.V. shows and the only thing good about Tuesdays! What the crap? No season 8. I am totally not going to watch the CW if they keep cancelling all of my shows. 1st it was 7th Heaven, then Gilmore Girls. I just heard that there is no season 8 :( Two episodes is not going to conclude the Luke/Lorelai thing Rory'career and from last weeks scences it looks like Logan is going to propose.How are they going to end the show with that being a possibility and the Luke/Lorelai thing that may be a wedding what have em get married on the same day.What about Emily and Richard? I can't believe what has happened to the funny interesting show that gilmore girls used to be! I have to say these new writers have seriously let us fans down. Luke and Lorelai were a dream come true. Chris and Lorelai are a nightmare. I'm not so sure about Rory and Logan but Logan is turning out to be a pretty good guy for Rory. But even though this show seems to have taken a turn for the worst, I still have hope and I'm praying that there will be another season. Hopefully one that will remind us of the old episodes when things weren't so so opera suckyish.

I love this show. I started wachting on ABC family at first i didnt like it but then I wacthed a couple of eposides and now you have me hooked. I think gg should go one more season this year with the new writers ppl were disapointed i n hte begin b/c it didnt have the same charm but now the writters are getting a hold of it and i give them credit that was a hard thing to be able to do. We really just need to know the ending of luke chris lor sutation and i really like logan for rory so yeahh thats my imput . It a witty show with heart and charcther one to be remembered!

I love every Gilmore girl season. I really couldn't say that this season in particular was bad. I didn't like the Lorelai/ Christopher thing this season, but that didn't make me not want to watch the show. I still have hope for Lorelai/ Luke. As for Rory/ Logan relationship. I'll admit that I wasn't a Logan fan in the beginning, but now i'm getting to like him with Rory. I hope that they stay together. If this season does end i hope that they end it in a good note. I hope that atleast Lorelai gets her perfect wedding.

The only reason why I am still watching GG is that Lore and Chris are together. He's wonderful and he understands her and they are great and fun together. There's nothing wrong with Luke, but he's just not for her.

My wife, daughter (16) and I have watched this show (and rewatch on DVD) the last few years - and thought season 6 was "a bummer"; now that we have seen the 7, we think it is great. It seems all too obvious that Amy SP was the voice of Lorelai and Rory. They now sound as if they have been taken over by body snatchers.

I'm over this show in a big way, for me, it all started going down a slippery slope with the whole Logan Cheeseburger thing. Anybody with an ounce of self respect wouldn't tolerate his crap, and I'm real surprised Lorelai didn't have a huge conversation about the type of narcissitic jerk he is, but then again, Lorelai's kinda running in reverse herself taking up with her ex again. Personally, I'd like to see this thing put out of it's misery.

I don't think Luke or Lorelai will ever be able to forgive or forget what they did to each other. The first break-up was hard enough to get over but I don't think it can happen again. It wouldn't be possible in real-life and that is what they are imitating...as best as possible. It would be really cool, but way too fake. We don't want the show ruined that way. I am very disappointed it happened this way. I hope Chris goes away and I hope Lorelai finds a new man. One to make her happy. She deserves it. I just hope the show is not ruined and that they can salvage it enough for an 8th season. I think the biggest thing missing, is Luke's diner. It was the hub, the central point in the show. Lorelai went there all the time, even before she started dating Luke. Without that central area, all the parts seem disconnected instead of together. I hope that changes.

Here is my take on the whole season 7. Amy SP always gave “clues” as to what was “in the cards”, whether we got them or not. David Rosenthal seems to follow in these footsteps. He makes Luke say to Lorelai that she should go back to being Lorelai Gilmore and him as the guy who pours her coffee. Since it looks like the Season or a great part of it will be about Lorelai and Christopher and that there is even a hint of them getting married in November, the Luke and Lorelai relationship is a lost cause; the writers could not repair the rift in what is left of the episodes without making it look contrived. So Lorelai is going to have her “whole package” with Christopher and Rory. It won’t work out and in the final episode she will come back to the diner, all pitiful, and Luke will pour her coffee. And since I am prepared to bet anything that this is the last season, the last scene will be in the diner with Rory and the rest will be left to our imagination forever. Sad? Absolutely. I hope I am wrong but I am preparing for the worse.

well the new season is depressing me. The fairytale of LL got destroyed and its too heartbreaking for me to watch. they need to be together. otherwise its not working. I dunno why chris had to show up again. LC were over long before. 5.13 proved that there was nothing left to explore. she chose luke. so why repeating it over and over again? did you guys run out of ideas or something? so so sad that my fav show had to go this way. The only reason I always watched GG was because of luke and lorelai. and now thats gone. thank you.

L/L not a couple. It had to be folks. Lor has to go find out again why Luke has her heart. Christopher is the perfect, life-sucking enigma to accomplish that. Luke needs to lighten up. It is April that will accomplish that. I hope there are story lines built around this dynamic. From my POV, Luke's dark Day was the single most important story line produced. I brought out layers of Luke that we have never seen. It showed Lorelai how deep his angst runs. It shows how she and only she can improve his outlook on it all. I hope the writers have the courage to take this topic on one more time this season. I hated that they didn't explore it in season #6.

Does anyone else find that group of faky-let's-talk-about-gilmore-girls Aeres group (or whatever they're called) that interjects itself during commercials to be as obnoxious as I do? Please make them GO AWAY! I want to watch Gilmore Girls, in peace and quiet, with the standard normal commercials required - NOT a stupid group of so-called-friends I don't give a rip about talk about Gilmore Girls!! I remember when this show was witty and funny and fresh. Instead of keeping something that was working, they had to turn it into a crappy soap-operaish drama, and they changed the characters beyond recognition in the process.

I stuck with season 6 hoping things would take a turn for the better. I'm not wasting my time on such low-quality writing anymore.

The Chris and Lorelai storyline is nauseating for me. The VCR will serve it's purpose of fastforwarding through THAT stuff. Hopefully when Chris is gone I can watch Gilmore girls again in its real time.

Although Scott Patterson gave an awesome performance as Luke on the season premier, the rest of the show wasn't worth my time.

DR's attempt to sell a "mature"/grownup Christopher has few if any buyers. The "I really enjoyed last night" line was disgusting.

The whole L/C relationship is disgusting. When Chris is gone, I'll return to watch.

In the meantime, tell SP that this fan will miss seeing Luke. The best part of the show was Luke and the diner. Now that Lorelai's seeking her teenage years with Christopher again, I'm not wasting any time watching.

I hope that GG regains consciousness and again gives us a show worthy of our time. Until then, adios!

I know that this show has changed alot in 7 years, but everyone should remember that although the show is called 'Gilmore Girls', the first two characters in the very first ep were Lorelai and Luke. Setting up a standard that never changed, until now. If we the fans are turning this into Lorelai and Luke instead of Gilmore Girls, it's only because the writers have spent 6 years leading us there. Throughout all of Lorelai's relationships, Luke was a presence. Even when they were fighting, Lorelai turned to Luke when everything fell apart with Chris. To now try to convince the fans that Lorelai would jump into bed with Chris immediately after 'breaking up with Luke' is insulting. CHRISTOPHER HAS NEVER BEEN THERE FOR LORELAI. All of the people rooting for C/L, name me one time that Chris has been there for her when she really needed a friend (not random sex!). I am deeply disappointed in the direction that my favorite show is heading. I am a fairly recent fan that was hooked by the Luke/Lorelai relationship and am just sick about the current state. I am very sorry to say that I will not watch one more episode until/unless L/L are back on track.

I liked the episode. It was like one of the old Gg episodes I fell in love with. But I couldn't enjoy it this much 'cause this LL rift is just pathetic. If Lorelai would love Luke as much as she told Sookie she does then she could have fought for him. But she let him go not the other way around. It's okay for me to keep them apart for a while but I heard about a CL realtionship. Have you lost your minds? Been here done that. God who do you want to kid? Watch it alone! When Chris shows up then I'm out. I can't do this to myself. This is cruel. A show should entertain not cause sickness. Why are you doing this to all your loyal fans? Why do you want us to suffer. What did we do to deserve that?

The premiere was good. Not fabulous, but good. Still, I'll be watching Friday Night Lights from now on. At least until the characters (mainly Lorelai's) start acting like themselves again. I keep hearing that Lorelai has a lot of personal growing to do, but I'm not seeing any evidence of that happening. And for an entire year now she's been a stick in the mud - first over Rory and then over Luke. Where did her spine go???
Until she finds it again, leaves Chris in the dust, and at least makes friends with Luke again, I'll just stick with watching the first five seasons in reruns. At this point it doesn't even matter if she doesn't marry Luke....but the show isn't the same without their friendship.
As for the premiere - the best part about it was the Lorelai/Rory interaction. We definitely need more of that again!!

This is the first GG episode I couldn't bring myself to watch. It is abundantly clear to devoted fans of the show that ASP set out on a mission to strip away the show and characters she spent 5.5 years building before her departure. It was childish, and I am disappointed that the new showrunner and the CW would allow the continuation of these toxic storylines. I read spoilers and will not be watching future episodes until the Lorelai/Chris/Luke debacle is over. Luke and Lorelai as a happy couple is the only way you'll get me back.

I loved the first episode. SP rocked. Rory was fun to watch. So DR did a great job. but honestly. If Lorelai and Chris arent over by hiatus nobody will come back. You have to thank the LL shipper that this show is still alive. And you'll lose them now with that LC crap. cause after LL happened in season 5 you cant tell anyone that she'll try something serious with someone else. I dont know whats going on in your heads and to be honest I really dont wanna know when such a crappy SL is the result. You're ruining this wonderful show. And those disappointed fans wont watch that. The LL fans feel betrayed. more than that. stop this crappy LC thing. you'll lose ratings. really no joke. even the normal audience will be pissed.

Love Lorelai and Christopher together. Luke won't even shave for Lorelai, much less change any other part of his life. Good riddance!

Honestly, I have loved this show from day 1, but Amy Sherman Palladino obviously intentionally tried to ruin this show when she left and if her successor Dave Rosenthal thinks fans want to see Lorelai with Christopher he isn't a fan, he's just a scapecoat. Lauren Graham is the only reason I keep coming back.

i haven't taken a poll, or done scientific research, or ran an internet survey--but i'm going to make a guess and say you haven't either-- over who lorelai should be with.

but here's just an assumption i'm going to make based on my having watched since the first episode and having read what other people are saying--

it's not supposed to be christopher.

a lorelai/christopher courtship? an actual relationship? christopher sleeping in the house luke built for his fiancee? an alleged marriage in november? bad ideas, people. at this rate you should just marry lorelai and chris under the hoopah luke built during a season that seems decades away from now. it'll be salt to the wound, but what difference does it make now?

I was just so depressed by this episode and this entire storyline (Lorelai and Luke). I remember when watching Gilmore Girls was one of my favorite moments of any given week and now it just makes me sad. This whole thing with Christopher is a giant leap backward for her character and a slap in the face to loyal viewers. If it goes on too much longer I just think I'll have to give up and stop watching.

Well, i liked the season premiere. We got great Lorelai/Rory scenes, Paris scenes, and scenes with the townies. I liked the writing and overall enjoyed the episode.

But, the L/L/C triangle is crap. Chris treated Lorelai like garbage for 21 YEARS!!!!!! Now we're supposed to think of him as the go-to guy now that he has money, give me a brake.

And everyone who says that Lorelai waited long enough for Luke, i think you better take a look back at the show. Luke waited 8 YEARS for her, then another 9 MONTHS when she wanted to postpone the wedding for Rory. Lorelai was waiting for 4 MONTHS when she gave Luke the ultimatum.

Lorelai is so selfish. Luke needed time to get to know his daughter, and all Lorelai could think about was HER. What a brat!!! Plus, she had no right to demand that he marry her, she didn't say anything for months. Then, she sleeps with Chris minutes after she and Luke fight, WTF?????

The idea that Lorelai is going back to Chris after everything he has done is unbelievable. He is not reliable, all he cares about his gettin some from Lorelai (which he proved with the 'booty call' and saying he had a 'great time last night' what an a**hole) and never cares about anyone else's feelings around him.

I agree that L/L need a break, but why put Lorelai with Chris? Why not have her single for once in her life? The lack of E/R and happy L/L interaction was apparent. The constants on the show were always the Gilmores, the town, the Lorelai/Rory relationship, and the L/L friendship. What's going to happen now that L/L aren't talking? This show has gone downhill, ASP jumped and killed the shark last year, but now DR is burying it along with seasons 1-5 of GG. We deserve better storylines after sitting through the crap that was Season 6, but now it seems that Season 7 will be just as awful and predictable.

I just can't watch the Christopher/Lorelai thing. I'm not whatching. It's just so wrong. So depressing, so disgusting. Destroy the past and the future of the show, IMO. Destroy the magic. Destroy the noble feelings. We don't deserve this. We, the fans, just don't deserve this.

I thought the season premiere was a good transition, but you are going to lose a lot of fans if you think we want to see Chris and Lorelai marry.

This is not the light and sparkly show it was in seasons 1-5; even with all the family angst,I looked forward to its humor and great characters.
Lorelai's selfish behavior has become tedious and, for me, not credible.
In the premiere, I thought the only really great part was Scott Patterson's acting. Just terrific. Luke remains a great character. I feel bad for the new writers who had to develop story lines from last season's mess, but please don't offer more of the melodrama that suffuses this show right now. Perhaps I'm not the kind of viewer you hope to attract to this show.

Bravo to DR I acually enjoyed the episode, I even laughed a bit unlike last season. I LOVE Paris she always makes my day, kudos to Liza shes so underrated. Scott oh-my-Lord if he said that speech to me I would just have my way with him on the porch. Amazing acting on his part I cried and cried I love how DR has made Luke more 3-dimensional and looking forward to the rest of the season. ( Except for the Dopey & Lorewhore scenes)

For the first time in going on 7 seasons, I was unable to watch the premiere of Gilmore Girls. I tried, I really did, but the thought of going back to where we left off at the end of Season 6 made me vaguely ill. This show used to be such a joy to watch - now, I can't bring myself to turn it on. Thanks, Amy!

i give this episode an okay. but u guys are all to picky. its one ep. u ppl are to easi to critize. everithing happens for a reason. i am srry that you ppl dont have a heart. if the "losers" want to stop watching all b/c the premiere wasnt up 2 everi1's statndards then fine. but i am gunna stick around. and that friday night lights thing sounds dumb. i have all the seasons and there all grreat. i have no reason to stop watching. i am gunna stick around for the whole thing. if this is its last season the fine but i will always watch the shows from dvd's and find a new show thats just ike this one. okay? so ever1 stop killing LG for her acting. get over it!! its not the end of the world.

The premiere was pretty good considering the hole that was dug last year. My problem with the current storyline is that Christopher, (the guy who was barely there for Rory), is turning into such a hero. If he is going to be redeemed in the audiences eyes, which at this point for the majority of fans is unlikely, (for six years we've been shown all the reasons to not like him), his history is going to have to be brought up and he's going to have to acknowledge the presence of his absence. I feel like for the past 6 years it has been swept under the rug and he's never been called out. He can't keep getting a free pass. The message that this show is sending about absent fathers is startling and disheartening. When does Rory start to wonder why exactly her dad only comes around when Lorelai is in need? The parallels between Luke and Chris as fathers is not all that subtle, and yet, it seems as if it is being completely ignored by the writers. Chris is no closer to being redeemed now than he was in Season 1. All this and still, from the promos it appears Lorelai and Christopher are going to give it, yet another, go. Great. How original, (and believable-where-oh-where did the real Lorelai go?). Wasn't this all settled at the end of Season 2? Nonetheless, if the hope this year is to redeem Christopher's character, lines like "booty-call" and "I had a great time last night" after Lorelai's obvious devastation, is not the way to do it. Instead of cute and funny, they just came off as cold and uncaring. And not so much as a frustrated sigh from Lorelai? Really? I'm sorry, I'm just having a hard time taking these characters I've known for six years and molding them to fit these storylines. It just seems so forced. Everyone did a great job changing and growing over the last few seasons, excluding last year, and now, they are reverting back to their previous selves. It's mind boggling. Christopher is not grown up, and is still as selfish as ever. He does have money now. (Which is a whole different can of worms that could be opened about what the audience is getting from this...) I'm just hoping that this stuff is going to be addressed at some point. Soon. Because seriously, YOU ARE LOSING US. When the audience wants bad things to happen to the heroine of the story, you've lost them. And this is exactly the case. I'm not just talking about in this fandom. I'm talking about every person I've talked to about the show-from co-workers to friends-they all say not very nice things about Lorelai. From wanting to see her sad and alone, to calling her names that I won't repeat in this family-friendly forum. Of course the hero/heroine is allowed to have faults, bad times, downfalls, (etc), but what is pushing the audience away is taking these characters who have seemingly overcome these faults, (a process that made them endearing to us in the first place), and turning them into the people that you had to learn to love in the beginning. It's negating any connection that we feel with them and frankly, just isn't good storytelling.

The ONLY highlight was Scott Pattersons performance. Hopefully he´ll get an Emmy nom.

Scott Patterson’s performance in TLM deserves an EMMY! He rocked, Lauren Graham not so much but she has turned in consistently excellent performances for years so I will let last week’s slide.

This story line is so contrived and boring and far below the standards that ASP set in seasons 1 -5 that I can not believe you are continuing with it. I get that ASP was drained of creativity last season (and angry at the network and possibly insane) but DSR is relatively new to GG (second season) so what’s his excuse?

I hope the ratings tank and the CW puts pressure on Warner Bros and the writers to bring L/L back together soon. I won’t watch until then but I will check the spoilers for a while to see what is happening.

This is so stupid. The writers had this opportunity for such a wonderful story showing these two dysfunctional and emotionally wounded individuals learning to trust and work together. The writers threw that possibility away for a trite and boring soap opera story and had to destroy the main characters to do. I can’t understand how the writers thought that bringing back Christopher (for the 3rd or 4th time) was anything but redundant. Where’s the creativity in that?

I wish that they would change the name of the show to something like the Days of Our Gilmores so not to disrespect the first 5 seasons. As far as I am concern this show is not Gilmore Girls and the main character of this show may be named Lorelai but she is not the Lorelai I loved, she is a poor imposter and not interesting at all.

I really loved the premiere. It felt more like the old Gilmore Girls than it did last year.

The only issue is that David Rosenthal is taking two characters that need eachother and love eachother and ruining them. No matter how much the first ep felt like G.G., once Luke and Lorelai stop talking, and Lorelai goes off and pretends to be in love with Christopher and marries him, its no longer the Gilmore Girls I knew and loved.

DR has a lot of work ahead of him if he plans to keep any L/L or even just Lorelai or Luke fans involved. If Lorelai's truly in love with Chris, and Luke really doesn't care about being with her anymore, than that's not Luke and Lorelai, and they'd be even more out of character than they were last year.

I'm sticking with the show, cause I can't give it up, but he needs to make sure we're not doubting Lorelai and Luke's true feelings... and they need to start working out their issues soon, and not right before the finally. But not having L/L talking between ep. 2 and 7 is crazy. They're such a big part of the show, and to just not have that huge aspect of the show is such a crazy risk, that probably won't work out in Rosenthal's favor.

On a different note, I loved Rory in the premiere. She was more like the old Rory I used to watch for in seasons one through four. Sure, she was more grown up, but she wasn't the boring Rory she was through season 6. So, I'm so glad that David Rosenthal is managing to get me interested in Rory's story lines again. And that's something major in my book.

Where is the real Lorelai, cause this one has the self esteem of a gnat. A relationship with someone who has been nothing more than an interloper in her and her daughter's life? Does it really seem like a good idea, you know leaving someone who has been there for you for ten years, as opposed to someone who has never been there for you? Do people in real relationships really run the first time things don't go your way?
What exactly is the point of this to show us that Lorelai is emotionally damaged? Christopher has inherited a lot of money, so that makes you a new person? Money can buy you a new suit, but it cannot buy you a new personality. How sad is it that this is what this show has come too.

The season is already a disappointment.
We feel STABBED IN THE BACK.
And I feel robbed of this season thinking of 6.01 when Luke and Lorelai were ready to get married.
Now she weds Chris.
What is that? Did all turn stupid?

Go season 8.

Honestly, it was the episode that would not die. It just drug on forever and I know it's DR's 2nd episode and we need to give him time but it was way too different. The only saving grace was Hottie Scotty Patterson. Hopefully he gets an emmy nom from that performance. Lauren rocked her scenes as usual and I even found myself liking Alexis' acting again. I'm going to stick around for a few more episodes just to see how this plays out but if the Tale of the Two Dopeys (Chris and Lore) happens, I'm out.

Are you all (CW or WB or whoever) stupid? You allowed ASP to blow up this show and now you're allowing DR to bury it. What used to be a lighthearted, heartwarming and funny show is now one big dark hole of depression and has been for close to a year now. Can you let me know when Luke and Lorelai's storyline becomes something other than sordid? I guess I should have said "if" instead of "when" because it looks as if Lorelai and Christopher are the end game. Right now, Friday Night Lights is my new show on Tuesday nights.

I thought the ep as a whole was decent. I agree with those that think that SP was the best thing about this ep. I think DR is trying too hard to prove that he "gets" the history of the show, though, by throwing in mentions of old eps (Bop-it, for example). If he really does "get it", then he should know that the "Lorelai uses Chris because Luke let her down" storyline is old and tired. We got it before, In Season 2. Lorelai went off on Luke because he wouldn't send Jess away, and wouldn't prove his obligation to her and Rory. Remember who she called the minute Luke walked away? Yep. If Luke had given in to her unreasonable demand, she wouldn't even have bothered to call Chris to let him know about Rory.
This rehash is old and tired. Except now, we're supposed to conveniently forget that Chris has been a lousy father to Rory all these years. Please, his only concern has ever been about being with Lorelai. Sorry, not buying the supposedly "mature" Chris. He's still a pathetic loser. Now, Lorelai has just sunk to his level.

I find Lorelai's rebounding to Christopher every time her world falls apart almost pathological. What is her compulsion? I think DR is taking a good chance in exploring this dark side of Lorelai. Yeah, we all know Chris is no good for her, but why can't she see it?

The ending broke my heart as well. Good acting Scott Patterson!!

Will look forward to more Gilmores this season.

I had to wait several days to watch the show as I had heard too much about it before I watched. It was ok, but not enough to keep me around for the season. I've watched GG from episode 1 season 1 and has been in my top all-time top fav shows, but recent storylines are so disappointing and unoriginal. GG took a wrong turn last season and I see no u-turns in sight at the moment. If things change in Stars Hollow let me know and I may come back.

I didnt like the episode. The break-up scenes were really good but seeing Luke and Lorelai apart breaks my heart. Its not only this,its the reason why they broke up: Christopher. Bringing up the old guy to destroy a relationship is too old and in Luke and Lorelais case,its definitley the end of the magical relationship and friendship.

Overall, I liked the premiere. The writing was good and though a little different from previous seasons, it was still good. Rory/Lorelai scenes were kind of dragged out - that rocket ship thing was interesting at first but took up way, way, way too much time in the episode, as did Rory's explanation of the diner crash. Otherwise it was good, and acted well, but it breaks my heart to see Luke and Lorelai split up - having them apart for most of the season would just ruin the show, just as the Rory/Lorelai rift last season. Makes me sad for my used-to-be favorite show.

I'd like to give Mr Rosenthal a suggestion: next time a car crashes into something, please, let there be Chris casually wandering around right in front of the car... pretty please?

She hasn't grown at all during the last seasons...and she says she loves Luke but isn't willing to give him a second chance? My heart broke when he begged her to reconsider. She seemed way to cold throughout the episode.

The first episode of season 7 was very sad, but also funny and very spectacular! (Kirks "i´m ok!" was the best part of the show!)
I totally understand the difficult characters and their behaviors, but i think that Rory should have noticed how terrified Lorelai was, when she heard from the car crash!
That was not characteristic of Rory!

I´m looking forward for the new episodes and i maybe can handle things with Lorelai and Chris as long as we now that Luke and Lore will definitly will find together in the end!

I liked it. A lot. Maybe, some of the dialogue was a little slower, but I welcome that change - especially if there is more put into the storylines and things seem to flow more naturally Which they did in my opinion during this episode. Rory was cute. I felt Lorelai and Luke's pain. Chris...eh...go away. I'm sorry, but someone needs to tell Matt C to stop overacting while having scenes on the phone. They made me cringe. But Rory and Logan are still cute.

More Emily, Richard, and townies! Less Lorelai/Chris/Luke romantic triangle bullsh*t!Hardly anyone buys it. It's just lame that the writers couldn't come up with something better to keep Luke and Lorelai apart until the verrrry end. If we have to wait that long - at least use your imaginations writers! Chris? It's been done. Done. He's like a burnt steak to this show. Booooring. And we all know in the end that Lorelai is going to kick him to the curb. So why do it? i wanted to watch it, but after seeing first few minutes I just wanted tofast forward it. there was only Luke worth watching in this episode, and right now it's the only thing that MAYBE make me wanna watch more, but right now I have to say they just screwed up this show.

All in all, I thought the episode was good. I loved that the humor in it. To me it was back... if that makes sense. I felt like it was really lacking last season especially in the second half of the season due to all the drama. The acting was great in the opener. Scott did an amazing job with his scenes and blew me away in the last scene.
It felt like there was a little something lacking in the episode, but I can’t put my finger on it. It did kind of feel like in some scenes the lines were forced though. Maybe that’s what it was.

The one and only thing I am not happy with is the decision to what it looks like will be a Chris and Lorelai relationship. I am sick and tired of seeing them 'try'. Its old news and should have never been brought back up. It is something I have no interest in and it will ultimately decide on whether or not I will continue watching the show anymore. And I really would hate that because I rarely ever quit watching a show that I have watched from the beginning. Plus the character of Christopher disgusts me – even more so after the premier.
If Luke and Lorelai needed to take a long break, which now I see that they did, it could have happened with out going in the direction that it seems they are going in. But nope. Instead, the dead horse has to be brought back out for another beating.

If I continue to watch, I will be watching for Luke because he is my favorite character. I will also watch for Rory and Lorelai moments because I have really missed those.

I loved it. I'm in for this new season. I'm tired of Lorelai putting up with Luke's stuff and I long for a little romance. Cannot wait for C&L and some happy scenes. Hope Luke deals with Anna soon. April is his daughter not his whole life. Hope he learns this season.

The episode was well written, no doubt about that, but the minute Lorelai and Chris gets serious with each other is the minute a lot of people I know will stop watching. We've been waiting for Luke and Lorelai forever and to be trampled all over like that is more than a lot of us can take. I get that DR was left with a mess and he has to deal and that most likely involves something between the two, but this is just a friendly reminder that if the show starts leaning towards where I *think* it's gonna lean, then a lot of fed up fans will turn to fanfiction rather than the show. That's my five cents, hope the characters will start make more sense soon.

I have to say that David R. did a got job concerning the funny dialogues between Lorelai&Rory or Sookie and Michel. They were really great! You don`t realise that there`s someone new writing the show!
But......what`s happening with Luke and Lorelai has to end immediatly!!! 90& of the fans are for LUKE and LORELAI and not for chris and lore!!!! Do thhe writers know that?!

I loved the episode, especially the focus on Lorelai and Rory. Nice to see Lorelai being herself again; Luke isn't worth being depressed or anxious or beat-up the way she has been for the past few months. Hope she enjoys plenty of laughs with Christopher.

well, I didn't notice the absence of the Paladinos. But the last season was just so crappy that I think it's maybe good they're gone.
I think DR did a good job, although I think the best in the episode was Scott Patterson's acting. he was mazing.
The whole storyline broke my heart though and no matter how good the writing will be I will watch the next episode and then I am done until this whole C/L mess is gone.
It's unlogical, completely OOC and not fun to watch.
I could have dealed with it, if Lorelai would have cried for Luke, would have taken her time and maybe Chris would have been there for her (and not sleeping with her, cause that's not what a friend is doing in that situation) and she would have fallen in love with him (not realistic, because Luke is so it for her, but better than this crap now). Then C+l okay. But like this? I hate it!
And i found Rory'S reaction to the cr in the diner more than strange. She was not worried for him or worried if Luke could rebuild it. She was acting like one of these snobbish rich kids she hangs out with, who are just doing anthing for fun, no matter who has the damage.

I didn´t liked the scenes with chris! lore should be together with luke not with chris!
but anyway! the episode was okay! the scenes with lore and rory were really funny and the rory logan were so cute! but, in my opinion, it is typical for gg that they talk so fast, they talked this time a little bit too fast!

I loved the season premiere of Gilmore Girls, especially Scott Patterson was amazing. You couldn't tell that this wasn't a Palladino episode. It was funny, the scenes with Rory and Lorelai were totally sweet and the end was simply heartbreaking.

But seriously, why are they doing this thing with Lorelai and Christopher and ruining the show for the viewers?

Hey...here in Germany we have seen the season episode as well.
It's horrible.
We waited 5 Seasons to see Luke and Lorelai together...and now...perfect!!!
Here in Germany the 6. Season (which is on screen right now) flopped, because a lot of viewers now the spoilers and they won't see it anymore.
The only thing we want is Luke and Lorelai back togehter!!! JJ 4-ever!!!

Luke/SP was the best thing in the show. The banter between the girls seemed off, forced. And the storyline, oy - it's just so wrong.

Scene from next episode shows Lorelai & Luke. I'll tape and watch anything with Luke in it (painful though it might be) I'll ff through ANY Lorelai/Chris scenes (which means most of the first half of the season)

I hate that the writers have taken this to the dark side with Lorelai becoming trampish. I hated Chris' line "I really enjoyed last night" Dude buy a clue. She just broke up with Luke and you had sex with her? Disgusting. Lorelai, pathetic, weak and ugly.

Luke? Sad. Performance by Scott was the best thing on the first episode.

Lorelai - cold-hearted, callous and simply unsympathic. Don't like her, in fact, I hate her and I don't care if she drops off the face of the earth.

She deserves deadbeat Chris at this point.

Even though I love Luke, I don't want to see a spin off of Luke's Diner without Lorelai.

This season will be dreary without L/L interaction in the Diner.

What were the writers thinking? I don't plan to watch this show faithfully any more. Heck, Lorelai cannot be faithful, why should I be?

Seeing as i read spoilers and am an avid reader of Ausiello,
i know whats happening with spoilers.. and so that just ruined the episode, and bascially the season and the series for me. i loved the first five.. too bad it all went down hill

I thought Scott P did a terrific job and my heart hurt so much for Luke.I can't stand Christopher and I am very disappointed he will be around so much.He is a deadbeat and I want Luke and Lorelai back together asap.

I will admit it was well written and well acted (mostly) but I hated watching it. It left me with a knot in my stomach and feeling bad. I don't watch GG to feel bad and that's the way I felt most of last season. I watch GG for fun and it's not fun anymore. (I am happy that I didn't watch it live but watched House instead.) Next week I will watch Friday Night Lights or NCIS. Maybe I will tape GG for later viewing or maybe not. If I do, it is only to watch SP's LUKE. I don't like Lorelai any more and I haven't cared about Rory for several seasons.

Overall, I gotta say it was pretty good. Besides E&R it had everything that I like in GG (except for the Chris-factor. YUCK!) It was a pretty normal epi. DR did handled the chaos that was handed to him pretty well considering the mess that was served to him on a silver platter via the Palladino's.
And SP's preformance at the end? Holy moley! I felt my heart re-break again for him. Here is is pouring out his hear to the woman he loves while she just stands there with NO EMOTION on her face, only to find out that she slept with her ex minutes after they fought. I feel a smackdown about to occur on GG.

Honestly, I thought that the episode was very well done. The writing was spot-on, it was funny, etc. What I don't like are the storylines. I have absolutely no interest in watching Lorelai try again with Christopher, who lost all respect in my book when he told his daughter that his relationship with Lorelai was more important than his relationship with Rory (5.09). I honestly can't see how Lorelai would choose him over Luke, who yes was an idiot for the second part of last season but is definitely more worthy of Lorelai. I honestly think that this "love triangle" is stupid, convoluted and will turn away viewers.

the writing style was fine, really couldn't tell a difference. the decision to follow the plotline that was clearly a big old 'F-u' to the WB was a bad one. It just hurts to watch characters destroyed like this. This 'journey' was unnecessary, we've already spent the last 6 years getting there, this last 'twist' is just plain mean.

I have to say the episode overall was well written except for the Captain thing. Luke got married to Nicole on a cruise ship.

Also Luke's upcoming friend...Lorelai saw Luke swimming in the lake one morning..so that storyline lacks continuity. So please have your writers watch previous shows before making huge blunders like these.

ok i have to say i really loved this episode... it was much more better then i had expected this... it was so funny and entertaining. babette was just... she was just babette and i loved it. and kirk was more then just funny. he was just lovely... the way he crashes in the diner was amazing... and his "i'm ok" was awsome... i was laying down by laughing.
but the end of this episode was just sad. i had cried soooo much. i was lieing in my bad and i just cried. this was the only thing i could do at this moment. i soooo love the whole relationship between lorelai and luke, like the most of us do. but to see lorelai and chris together it just break my heart. this whole relationship between Lorelai and chris is... it is just wrong. this ist not what we want to see. this is not what we want to except. i always loved the gilmore girls sooooo much. but with this new way they seemed to want to go i can't agree with. and especially i don't want to see this. this are no longer the gilmore girls i know and the gilmore girls i loved. i really have no point to see it any longer. it just break my heart to see lorelai and chris together. i hate to see lorelai walked through the streets of stars hollow heartbroken because of luke. i mean how often chris wants to get in the whole story?? it's nearly the 1000 times he wants to get in her life. he had his chances and he really didn't took them... so let him go and never bring him back. this would be the best for all of us. i mean david sudcliff is a great actor... i really love him as an actor... but really not as chris...
and also this is not the lorelai we know and we love. she is sooo much diffrent then before. she gets into a relationship she don't want to be. she is sleeping with a guy she seems to be discusted for. that what it was lookes like whem she gets out of HIS and especially THE WRONG bed. i think she tried to get rid of her felling. she is tried to hide these feelings behind this just wrong relationship.
sometimes i think that lorelai is losing her herself. she's not OUR Lorelai. not the one we know ans we love.

so my opinion to the whole season premier... good, really good. better then excepted. but especially the wohle story about lorelai and chris... this story i really hate. more then ever before. this is like a sticking point. this could be the one and only point to say goodbye to the soooo much loved gilmore girls....

i'm crazy i know.. but we all are. and we all don't like the new way of the gilmore girls...

I sorta like the episode. Though I miss more happy scenes. Hopefully they will come later on.
I loved the Racquetball scene. That was classic Gilmore Girls to me. I am not a fan of Christopher at all so any scene that includes him I chose to fast forward. He just bugs me right to the core. I would much rather see Lorelai single for a while than with the guy who never was there for her or Rory. So he has money.. Lorelai was never about money.

Overall it was an ok episode but not great. There wasnt enough quick witted banter and comedy but I suppose since they are now going for the Emmy in drama the show is bound to change. I am just sorry to see it. I loved the quirkyness, thats what made me watch in the first place. AND PLEASE KEEP UP WITH MORE RORY AND LORELAI SCENES!! And either get rid of Logan or bring him back to the US. Matt seemed to overplay his scenes and it totally made me cringe.

i totally loved the first episode. the writing was amazing. i didnt miss amy. rosie did a great job. but I still hate that there is a rift between LL. I cried. and right now I hate lorelai. and I'm not alone. I couldnt stand luke with his broken heart. I'm totally on his side. and i so hated chris. he didnt care that lorelai was miserable. he just wanted to get into her pants again. and I'm glad she was disgusted. I liked it that she did it on purpose and not because she was weak. I think it was good that way. but still its too much. LL need time apart but i dont get why chris has to be in the picture. this guy is just wrong. and i wont watch until LL are back together. I just cant watch that LC crap. its too much. I invested 6 years in LL and now with that chris thing its too much for me. the LL fairytale got distroyed. and i cant watch lorelai being so stupid.
scott was amazing in that episode. I wasnt able to watch the last scene again. it was too heartbreaking. I cant stand luke being sad. please guys dont take this LC thing too far. its enough to have LL apart.

I was upset that it seems everything between rory and logan is great and that rory is going to visit logan. I was hoping that rory would end up being very upset and doing something stupid with a guy from the university of new haven.

the people that have left comment about how they think that l&l should get back together i think you are CRAZY at first when they got together i must admit i was happy but after the way he treated her im glad they are over. and i am extremely glad the rory and logan are still togeher and i hope that they get married=)!!! I love the show! I hate to miss it. I love that it is on during the day and after noon and night once a week! I try to watch all three just so i dont miss anything! It about the only show i watch.

I dont really know who Loralie should date its between the pros and cons. If she stays with Luke than shes waisting something special but if she doesnt then Luke would be really hurt. If she goes with Chris he will just take advantage of her like he did in the past. Now I know all you Gilmore Girl Fans agree with me on this one.

When Lor and Luke broke up the first time...i didn't watch it until they were back together. it was too depressing. i will do the same now. i'm just going to watch the previews for the following week until i notice that they are back together. i'm not even going to bother watching until they are back together :(

She only went to Christopher because Luke kept pushing her away.She didn't intend to go there and sleep with him, it just happened.She human and makes mistakes.I think eventually Luke Will forgive her. If Luke and Lorelai don't end up together, then the whole show will be a disappointment. Let them have their time but they HAVE to end up together or else the first 5 seasons building up their romance will have been a waste.

The first episode was okay. the dialog between Lor and Rory are very good. The crash was funny. I really enjoyed the new episode and look for word to next week's episode it was fun to watch.

The saddest thing for me is when luke is suddenly realizy that he's losing Lorelai. And had made al those plans. That's for me a sign the will end up together. Because the really love eachother, but the need time to realize things. So for me NOW Loreali an Christopher. He also had his changes.

Tuesdays at 8 M-F at 5 has been a part of my schedule.I've fallen in love with Luke and dream to someday meet Scott Peterson. Since the last episode I am dreading the next episode, what I was hoping would not happen seems to be just that. If only by Luke being available now, what would make this a perfect world would be if Scott Peterson asked me out.

I don't know why people are so immature to go and say that Lorelai was acting spoiled that's it she was just ACTING. I think that Lorelai should be single and just friends with Luke because if she goes with Christopher its just like any other show and I feel it should stay different which is what drew me in at the very beginning. At the end of this season maybe have Luke and Lorelai make up to an extent but don't ruin the show for the different viewers.

Lorelei! She acted like a spoiled brat giving Luke the ultimatum (knowing him as well as she does, did she really expect him to react any differently?) She
needs to stop getting involved with any man until she knows what & who she really is...besides a brat. Can't wait to hear the reaction from the Gilmores....

I liked the episode overall. I thought the scene with Sookie talking when she didn't realise Lorelai had a problem was a little slow, and I wanted to hear more Gilmore-Girlsly music throughout the episode, but overall I liked it. I am rooting for Luke and Lorelai in the end, though. I think the ratings were lower because Lorelai sleeping with Christopher is not as big a draw as Lorelai asking Luke to marry her.

I think that the town scenes were just like they were, Babette was Babette, Lorelai was Lorelai, only Rory seemed a little different than the way the Palladinos used to write for her - but she actually sounded like an adult, so it wasn't a bad change.

I hate the way this show has now gone. Do the writers actually think we all can handle this much back and forth with L/L? Come on!
