It's funny that so many ppl who posted are becoming anti-GG simply bc Luke & Lorelai hit a bump. The bump was worked in beautifully, made perfect sense, and come on, we all KNOW Luke and Lorelai are getting back together,

This show has maintained its wit and charm over the years, and has been a constant comfort for many of its viewers.

I hope that Edward Hermann remains on the show. It just wouldn't be the same without the lovable Richard.

We have given up on GG. We quit watching it two weeks ago when TV Guide reported that Lorelai would marry Christopher. Beside being a dull, spoiled, trust-fund-baby of a character, Christopher is also the worst actor on the show!! . . TV Guide said that "Luke would continue in Lorelai's life in a profound way" after the wedding. My guess is that they will make Lorelai pregnant with Luke's baby.
Oh well, mark GG as one more show that lost sight of it's wit and charm and fun.
To save this show, Lorelai belongs with Luke NOW!!! Ex-GG viewers.

I am so bitterly disappointed in Loreli. Bad enough she slept with Chris, now we have to see their boring relationship every week. Loreli was once a strong independant role model. Now she is a needy wimp. Get Loreli and Luke back together real quick or your ratings will be dropping alot more. We watch to be entertained not to be disgusted.

So I guess I wasn't the only one who was underwhelmed by the Lor-Chris "relationship". There isn't even a place to post comments re: the new ep. The overall tone of the ep was definitely blah, other than Sookie ripping into Lorelai for becoming "the girl that sits by the phone". Yay Sookie! I also like seeing Daddy-Luke, nicely contrasting with the guy who keeps shipping his daughter off to her grandmother so he can plan over-the-top dates. It would appear that Chris still hasn't learned that neglecting your daughter is a bad thing.

Tonight's episode was terrible, Lorelai, is acting like she is 16 yrs old. And Luke is trying to put on a good face. I hope the writers realize how many fans are fed up with the trash TV they are promoting. And the end inviting Chris into the house Luke paid the remodel on is really sick. Lorelai is turning out to be nothing but a loose woman (to put it nicely). Come on and give us back the L/L relationship before you use all your fans. I'm sure your ratings are dropping very quickly. Get it together. With the way the world is today, give us the fiction to help us enjoy something in life.

What is going on with the gilmore girls?? What happened to Loralies witty clever humor...and what is up with luke and loralie?? Everyone knows Chris does not belong with her. I'd rather have Loralie and Luke together...and this be their last season...than even stand to watch any more of the gilmore girls with chris and loralies relationship!! aaah!!

i didnt care for the episode. first off, seasons 1-4 the majority of the pop culture references were obscure and older, now they're newer and more up-to-date. but don't get me wrong, i love some of them. the show just feels like its losing its spark. i HATED lorelai for sleeping with christopher. lorelai and luke belong together. period. i don't know... just something was missing. i love gilmore girls, and it'll always have a special place in my heart, but please, come on people! bring us back the old gilmore girls. and please resolve the lorelai & luke situation and bring them back together. i can't stand chris. and by the way, i love emily & richard. =]

These don't sound like happy customers. What did happen to The Gilmore girls? And this isn't a Rosenthal grievance. This show started to go downhill long before he took the reigns. It's been on a steady decline downwards that seems to be doing nothing but picking up steam. At what point do you stop and ask yourself where you are going wrong? Or, geez, consider what your audience would like to see. (I'm not even talking about LL here!) When did this show become plot driven, (like every other show on TV), and not character driven, (like the TV show that we all loved so much once upon a time)? Each week, watching is becoming more and more of a challenge for me. I feel like you are daring me to quit watching. Do you want me to give it up? Do you really care about my social life that much? And why do I feel like all of our complaints are falling on deaf ears? Technology is an amazing thing. Use it. Communicate with your audience a la Shonda Rhimes or Rob Thomas or other showrunners who seem to give a damn. Times are changing. Evole or die. It's all about natural selection and you're obviously losing touch with your audience.

I have a feeling that Emily and Richard will have a change of heart this season. I'm excited to have Emily back because she is hilarious. Richard always adds a intelligent side to the plot.

Bitterly diappointed. So very very very tired of the whining by the Gilmore Women. The MUST-HAVE-A-MAN mentality! What happened to the ballzy Lorelai??? The kick-butt gal?? I love the romance but NOT the neediness!!!

Once upon a time I used to watch this show called Gilmore Girls. It was funny happy and witty. The girls were strong and they make mistakes and THEY LEARN FROM THEM. Now I am sad because the show is no longer. I haven't totally grieved, when I hear (take note b/c I won't be watching), that Lorelai have married Christopher then I will have a proper wake and burial. Until then I grieve and find happiness in Grey's Anatomy anyone?

where was the plotline? you gave us a scene and we expected to continue with it and then nothing.

I thought this was the most boring episode of Gilmore Girls is a very long time. What happened to my favourite show? Yes I know it is now drama and not dramedy but at least give me something else than my girl Paris to laugh about. Oh.. sorry and Michel. Use the characters to their fullest instead of making an episode full of half hearted scenes that doesnt work. There was so much potential....

And.. for the love of god give me some Luke and Lorelai scenes in one way or another. Dont have a tv couple with that kind of chemistry go to waste.

I really dont understand this story with Chris. They make this beautiful story of Luke and Lorelai through out 4 years. get them together and then ruin it. I would rather they have not been together then. Now this great story is ruined because no matter if they get them together in the last episode, I will not find it believable.

Get Chris of my screen!! And thank you for the fast forward button which will be my best friend from now on.

As for Rory and Logan. Either bring Logan back or break them up because their story so far is killing me. Total snooze

OH WHEN WILL THIS NIGHTMARE END???? Get that deadbeat off my screen. I can't believe Lorelai is that desperate that she would call him. Nice message there, a woman can't be without a man for more than two weeks. And it's obvious where this is headed....Lorelai will use Chris (aw poor guy. NOT) and will realize she still loves Luke. I hope Emily talks some sense into her quick so the rest of us don't have to watch it for too long.

Ok, I guess I am the only one that enjoyed the last show. I think that Lorelai has ALWAYS loved Chris, and she will always go back to him. Luke was an afterthought when Chris blew her off.
Yes Chris was a jerk, but then again so can Luke be. I think she should get together with Chris they have better chemistry. When Lorelai kisses Luke its like there are no sparks. Seriously has no one noticed this? It's like they are brother & sister! I love the fact that Lorelai is growing up, if you ask me they are planning to end it soon, how else do you explain all the wrap-ups, realizing why she is the way she is, and choosing the father of her daughter, etc.
It's still my favorite show, I will stay tuned.
I also love the whole town stories, but not liking all the Lane & Zack time. Very boring. I love Emily & Richard & Michel too.
Luke has become very boring too.

The message I'm getting from the first three episodes is that we're supposed to forget the first five years of this show ever happened. It takes real talent to turn a smart, vibrant, independent woman into a character that is no longer worth watching, but you've managed to pull it off. Note to the writers: go watch GG in season 1 and then compare it to the show that you are creating now. That is why your audience is down by 1.6 million, why critics are upset and why fans are angry.

I liked most of the episode, but again, not the way that they are handling the Luke/Lorelai situation. Its stupid, stupid, stupid for her to be trying to fool herself. She doesn't love Chris, she said it herself in Partings. I understand that L/L both have so growing up to do and changes to make, but does it have to involve tainting 6 years of LL's history by making us believe that she wants to be with Chris and that she loves him? its just not needed.

I did love the FND and cotillion stuff in this ep, it was so funny. And Michel's IOU was way too funny. And Paul Anka lives!! thank god that dog came back. And Lane and Zach were just great. The scene when they were eating was perfect.

I think you should rename GG.. Dallas II would fit better at the moment! What happened to my favourit series?

Well, it was a little boring, there was only one Luke scene, and dopey made me want to puke. And the whole "Maybe I like what I like because my parents don't like it" thing was soooo stupid and useless. They probably only put it in because they needed to have some reason to have her give Dopey a second chance. I didn't hate the episode, but it certainly wasn't my favorite.

I honestly have to say that was the most boring and horrible episode of GG I have ever seen.Even 6.21 wasn't that crappy.
Let's leave the fact that I hate Luke and Lorelai apart aside and move to the other things:
There were like a thousand (well okay 9, I counted them) different sls in there, sometimes with only one scene. The most scenes just stood alone without another scene to solve anything:
- The Lorelai/parents fight: No missed phone calls afterwards, no other bickering about it... nothing
- The whole Emily school thing: She adviced that little girl only for one evening and then this strange tea party came. It was strange that Lorelai wasn't mocking this thing even more
-Rory going into the Diner: At first she laughed when the car crashed into the Diner (I hated that scene... Rory was such a rich spoiled brat in it) and then she walkes into it and talks to Luke, mentiones his cap, he says "things change" and that's it? No further talk?
- Babette and the "new" thing: She never got the solution what was wrong... they could have discussed it at a town meeting or something, but just leaving this sl line (basically the town and the breakup)hanging was irritating me
- Rory and Chris: Dinner... where the heck was that dinner? Did she say anything to him that she knows about his night with Lorelai? Did she blame him? Be angry? Avoid the topic?
- Michel and the Cotillion girls: One scene at that ball thing and that's it? One could have made so much funn scenes out of it.. but no, one scene and the end
- Lane and the pregnancy: I usually like Lane but she was annoying me to no end in this episode because she was repeating herself over and over again
- Rory and Logan: Rory is sending Logan sexmessages? Are you serious? In general she blushes when there is something dirty and now she is sending him sex messages?
- Lorelai and Chris: This poor guy (not ironic).. he loves her and she uses him, because she has the crazy idea that she suddenly loves what her parents love... there goes my favorite character in a series... Lorelai Gilmore: The total destruction...so sad.. I don't wanna watch this anymore if she stays that way
- Last but not least: paris and her sl: The only thing that made me laugh and brought me out of my boredom and anger for a second
I felt like they put three episodes into one and cut out all scene which were not 100% necessary and because otherwise this whole thing would have been too long.

And then the teaser came: "A new love".. suddenly I felt like I was going to throw up. She does NOT love him. She is fooling herself.. or do the writers really want to marry her off to Chris.
i am not against that because it is Chris, but because Lorelai loved Luke for years, she still does and this whole thing is just so wrong.
I honestly don't think I am going to watch next week. I wanted to see the first, I wanted to see the second episode. They were sad, but good. But the third one was just horrible.

this show was once about real life and about finding happyness. and lorelai was happy. did you ever see the proposal? it was perfect and now we get THAT!?

and in soap operas the best character always gets destroyed by losing the brain and running after a long dumped love. right!

Okay, I like Richard and Emily, okay? They're a HUGE dynamic on the show. They're Gilmores! I never believed that Emily was truly evil, she does did what she had to do for what she thought was right for her daughter. And even more, Emily doesn't seem too fond of Chris (score!) now, so that gives her more points in my world.

Thank You! They were finally in an episode. I watch the show for them.I love everyone on the show, but without them the show would not be near as good. I am the biggest Richard and Emily fan ever.

I was so excited for the return of Emily and Richard, and I ended up disappointed. That seems to be the way it goes with this show, nowadays. What was up with raging Emily? I don't think she even yells at her maids the way she yelled at Sookie. Her mean streak is usually very controlled, not flying off the handle. And I'm sorry, Christopher is pathetic. At least Luke couldn't read Lorelai's sad-face because she hid it from him, but Christopher is staring into a full-on sad-face and telling her he wants them to be together? Enjoy the rebound, Chris. They're both pathetic at this point.

PLEASE !!!! The presence of the elder Gilmore's is what keeps a 59-year old interested in the show. Not that I don't appreciate the crazy characters of Stars Hallow, I do. Episodes like the Friday Night fights are excellent TV, without the older Gilmore's that would not have happened. MK

GO AWAY, EVIL WOMAN! Emily has done more damage to a relationship than Monica Lewinsky! I think that Lorelai should marry Luke to tick her off! Richard I can live with... Emily should be sent to a convent asap!

We need Richard and Emily for the show to have that special zing! They are both great actors and bring a whole new level of dysfunction to the series. Bring it on!

The show just isn't the same wiout Emily. We need her sarcastic snobish superior attitude to keep the show lively and keep us hanging on for her next unforgetable line.

Richard & Emily were in Europe on vacation, not missing. Really like them on the show but no one except the "girls" are in every episode. Let's face it, if Emily was on the attack in every show she wouldn't be so effective. Use them like they have been used...very effectively. Lorelei/Luke is a dramatic turn only.

I love that Emily and Lorelai are togehter again. Emily always seems to mess things up for Lorelai, which is one of the things that makes the show awesome!!

I like to see Emily and Richard sometimes. I don`t like to see them take up most of the show, though. I would like to see Luke with Loreli in every episode. They have an interesting chemistry.

I'm glad Emily will be back. I like the bickering it reminds me that no relationship between mother and daughter is perfect, reguardless of class.

i love the fact that loreli's relationship with her mother isnt perfect because no girls relationship with her mother is. it makes you relate to the show more than you already do. For luke he has to just stop ignoring his own problem and face it. I hate the fact that he belives that he was so right and lorieli was wronge, because of that i dont really want lorieli to be with luke right now i actually prefer chris for her right now.

It's not the Gilmore Girls without the third Gilmore girl, Emily. This series isn't just about two generations of Gilmore girls, but three.

I agree - you need that tension to keep the story going and interesting. I also hope that Lorelai will grow up a bit and stop being the rebellious teenage-Lorelai and grow in her relationship with Richard and Emily.

i LOVE THE BICKERING BETWEEN LORELI AND HER PARENTS. THIS IS HALF OF WHAT MAKES THE SHOW GREAT. lUKE HAS TO STOP BEING SUCH AN IDIOT AND REALIZE THAT, THEY WOULDN'T BE IN THIS SITUATION IF HE WOULD BE ABLE TO ADMIT HE WAS WRONG IN NOT INVITING LORELI INTO HIS LIFE WITH HIS DAUGHTER. DON'T GET ME WRONG I LOVE LUKE TO DEATH AND HE IS WONDERFUL IN THE SHOW.

I am beyond excited for Emily and Richard to return. It doesn't feel like classic Gilmore Girls without them. I have a feeling that they'll be happy Luke's out of the picture. Emily's lately seemed to prefer Chris... ugh.
