Supernatural: Best Episode Yet?

We're nominating this as the best episode of the season – possibly the best of the series thus far. Great snark, great brother moments, scary monsters and demons, and all that payoff from the weeks and weeks of grief and angst. We're trying to find things to quibble about, and we're just not coming up with anything.

First off, how adorable was Sam when he got pouty that he wasn't in the FBI database? He so wants to be a bad-ass like his big brother, and no one is giving him any credit. We saw why when he made that nervous hop into the protective circle when the invisible Hellhound came a-callin'. Don't get us wrong, Dean probably would have done the same thing – and we would have been gibbering in terror – but Dean would have somehow made it look intentional.

And speaking of Dean – oh, the pain! He's finally had confirmation of what he's long suspected, and it's not pretty. That's why it almost hurts to see him lashing out at the people who had made a deal with the demon – you know he just wants to be shaking his father by the shoulders when he's yelling at Darrow and Evan.

We were struck that this is one of the first episodes where we've seen people actually willing to face the consequences that inevitably come from dealing with dark forces. Darrow didn't want to be saved – didn't think he deserved to be saved – because he'd not only willingly made a deal with the devil, but had exposed others to its evil. It's about time someone acknowledged that they'd made a stupid mistake.

The ending, where Sam told Dean that they were John's legacy, got us all misty-eyed. You got that right, Sam, and don't you forget it, Dean. John did a lot of stupid things, but at least he brought you into the world. Don't let that go to waste.

Finally – Oh, the previews for upcoming episodes! We're all aflutter. The boys kick some serious butt, Sam meets more demon-touched children, and we finally -- finally! -- learn what John told Dean. We like turkey as much as the next person, but we're willing to skip straight over Thanksgiving to get to the next episode. We can't wait! What'd you think?

i just wish i was doing them ..

This show is the best ever.
I wish i was them doing that job.

when will supernatural(season 3)be back in Australia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love u jared and jensen 4 ever and ever. U guys will never die 4 me b/c u need 2 know that this was the best show ever

The show is awesome, I can't wait to see the new episodes.

This episoide was a hit!!
But what if Dean really did sacrifice his soul to bring John back.I've followed this show since the first episoide, if Dean would have made the deal and he would die in 10 years that would kill the show!!!! This show is ranked #2 in my show list, against One Tree Hill,Gilmore Girls,Smallville and Vernoica Mars. If this show was ever canceled I would be really mad, beacause I would miss seeing Jared and Jenson every week!

Supernatural is the best. show. ever. And I've only ever said that about The X-Files.

All I have to say is... WOW.

Oh I forgot to say that I'm really glad they didn't show the hellhound. That just made it so much more creepy. SHowing the monster's would have been a mistake because you know the graphics would not have been able to do it justice.

Loooved it loved it loved it! Great episode! It did everything - scared you, humoured you and tugged at the heart strings. I think I yelled at poor Dean a few times for even thinking of making the deal. Sam jumping into the circle was really funny too.

Oh I can NOT WAIT for the coming episodes.. the teaser for the coming weeks was awesome which means it is leaving everyone hanging on the edge of their seat.

and this week is a rerun.. nooooooOOOO!! That sucks, especially since I am in Canada and our Thanksgiving was long ago.

Dudes I just re-watched this episode on my DVR and it's even better the second time around. And I think I love Sam and Dean even more now. How is that possible?

Forget about giving Dean a long-term girlfriend. Just let him snog with the evil girl of the week every episode. Trust me it'll never get old! LOL!

I cannot even form the words to express how much I love this episode and the show in general. Crossroads was even better on a second viewing.

This show is by far my favorite and far surpasses some of the heavy hitters on TV that I frequently watch (All CSI's, Shark, Criminal Minds, Prison Break, Without A Trace, Jericho etc.) The only other CW shows that I watch are One Tree Hill and occasionally Smackdown (I have lost interest in GG and VM). And I would drop them in a second to keep Supernatural on the air for years to come. This show is the whole package: Action, drama, comedy, thrills, angst, horror, and hot boys (especially Dean/Jensen)what more could a viewer ask for?

Love this show! Love the interaction between the brothers and the whole demon hunting quest. Hope its here for many seasons to come!

I am absolutely in love with this show. Supernatural has it all: great stories, great characters, great dialogue and really awesome actors. Jensen especially rocks the angst and the snark like no one else on TV right now, not even that dude from House.

This episode might be my all-time favorite. I loved the moody feel, the great blues music, the brother banter at the beginning and then Dean's heartbreak at the end. I also enjoyed the reappearance of horndog Dean and the flirty Demon. Those two were sizzling.

Really, really awesome episode.

I love the show but Jared is just soo FUG!!!

I loved this episode. it made me one happy girl to see the previews too! I enjoyed the brother banter and the serious overtones of the whole show. Great emotional parts too. An all around wonderful episode!

I loved this episode. it made me one happy girl to see the previews too! I enjoyed the brother banter and the serious overtones of the whole show. Great emotional parts too. An all around wonderful episode!

dean speaking latin...don't even get me started on how much of a turn on that was, i love the way jensen portrays his character and i love that scene where jp jumps into the circle, priceless moment! love this show! ps does jensen have a girlfriend? anybody know?

Okay, so this episode? Amazing. The “Soon” segment? Totally and evilly tantalizing (but in a good way) especially since it’s going on hiatus for a week (I've heard maybe even two weeks but I'm not sure how reliable the sources are).

So, as usual, JA was dead on with his character and JP was as wonderful as always. JP’s improved so much since his Gilmore Girls days. I’m a die-hard GG fan, and I really despised his character on that show. At first I didn’t really want to watch Supernatural because of him (soo incredibly glad that I was proven wrong…he’s an amazing actor and Supernatural is the best show on tv right now, including GG). But I digress.

There was sooo much to love about this episode. Sam being hurt he wasn't in the FBI database, the myspace reference, the Cribs reference (Dean watches MTV?!), the other snark, Dean speaking Latin, Dean being torn to pieces (emotionally, of course) by that demon chick, and Sam worrying about his big brother. So cute.

Another part that had me laughing so hard I was crying…Sam's little hop into the magic circle. His face clearly said, "Oh, crap!" and was absolutely priceless! Loved that scene!

One question though: How was the demon randomly exorcised at the end? Or did I just miss something?

Overall, wonderful episode. 10 stars. Can’t wait until new episode!!

PS:
And I love that the Dean seems to have their very own collection of fangirl demons and reapers. Hee! Sing it sisters: Dean's suffering is a thing of beauty.
Amen to that! =)

I think Crossroads is the best episode of this season. Jensen's performance as Dean continues to blow me away. The scene with the lady demon was perfectly done. I was so afraid Dean was going to make that deal I started yelling at the screen. :) . I can't think of any main character who has this ability to keep you in suspense about what he is capable of doing. Jensen somehow manages to both be so expressive that you can see every emotion go across his face and yet hold something back so that the character still has depths you know haven't been uncovered. He makes Dean Winchester the most fascinating character on TV today.

Jared also was top knotch is this one. His scenes with Dean, especially the one in the end, were so beautiful done. The pain in Sam's face as he realized Dean did consider making a deal with demon broke my heart. Jared's performance of Sam has never been better.

The writing on Supernatural is wonderful, but it takes the talent of these two performers to breathe life into the Winchester brothers.

BTW I wish the demon hadn't left that brunette. There was a lot of chemistry there and I wouldn't have minded seeing her torture Dean again somewhere down the road.

Supernatural is the best show out there. Should be number one.

Oh, and the "Soon" teasers just about killed me. I can't wait!!!!!!!!

THIS was a seriously good hour of television. Not the best episode of Supernatural to me. (Devil's Trap, IMToD are, for me the best so far) but certainly in the top 5.

JA's performance was really strong, and Sam pointing out that he and Dean ARE John's legacy was spot on!

And John would have kicked Dean's ass for him, if he had taken the demon up on the deal!!!

I don't know about anyone else, but I am so looking forward to the return of John and J.D. Morgan. Those episodes are going to be awesome.

"A beautiful, angsty ep with stellar performances from JP and JA. Yes, Dean gets confirmation about his father's deal...please let there be some resolution to that at some point in time *without* Dean having to go to hell to do it."

I personally would LOVE it if they could find some way to have Dean march into hell. Seriously, I have been wanting to see that ever since Dean said it to Meg in Devil's Trap. He said it so forcefully and determined that you just believed he would do exactly that if he could. And I, for one, would love to see Supernatural's version of hell. lol.

I love supernatural. It's even better than Buffy, and Angel together.
The part that get's me though is I want to know what dean's father said to him before he died. It looks like they might tell us in the next episode but now I have to wit till after thanksgiving. Arg!

I love where they get there story lines from mythology and deamonology ect. They also have there great twists in each episode almost like trying to figure out a murder mystery. Plus dean and Sam are hot especially with there wisecracks and attitudes.

My favorite episode is the one where they played the practical jokes on each other. Although I miss Meg. She was pretty cool to.

Every single thing about this episode was awesome! All the actors for the demon and demonbait were good too, even! Special effects rocked, sets and locations rocked, script rocked, mytharc rocked, Jared rocked, Jensen way massive beyond rocked (how does he keep getting better and better??? Every time I think he's as awesome an actor as he can possibly be, he turns around and blows me out of the water!) Sera Gamble is made of awesome, and Kripke is a magnificent bastard for everything, especially that "Soon" bit (Yay, "Hair of the Dog"!) that once again makes me want to metaphorically turn Kripke upside down and shake him til the answers fall out! Excellent episode!!! Well done!!! The t-day hiatus is going to be hell, don't even want to think about the winter hiatus!!!

Intense...that has got to be the first word that comes to my mind when thinking about this episode; another fabulous episode - props to the writers and the actors for a superb job. Once again, this episode, was a great balance (IMO) of humor and drama. I love watching Dean tease Sam at the beginning about being jealous...oh poor Sam. Wonder if Sam let Dean know what myspace really is? I will say, that for me at least, these episodes are also getting creepier. In Season 1, I can't say that there was really a moment when I was creeped out...but the last two episodes had me shivering. I was especially freaked when those people's faces changed and got all distorted. *shivers* As for the angst...oh poor Dean, the look on his face and the sound of his voice when he was asking if that demon could bring his dad back was heartbreaking. The look on his face when the demon told him to forget Evan and think of his dad - I'm going to quote Valariy Scott's Tears of the Force (A SW AU Fanfiction): "Doing the right thing does nothing to absolve one of guilt or heartache." - that's exactly how I think Dean was feeling, he knew saving Evan's life was the right thing to do, but he was so torn. Excellent facial acting by JA. The look on Sam's face after asking Dean if he considered making a deal was also heartbreaking (good job by JP)...Sam must be so worried about Dean. First he finds out that Dean feels guilty about being alive and now he sees just how far Dean might be willing to go to get their dad back.

On a side note, Dean's voice when he was reading Latin was just sooooooo sexy.

I loved the episode. JA is hot as always and JP also. Keep up the good work I love were the storyline is going. Defenitly can't wait for the next episode. ;0)

Thank you Mr. Kripke. Another awesome episode. Man I wish this show was on everyday, I just love it so much.

Jensen's Dean is such an amazingly complex character. Probably one of the best written and acted that I've ever seen.

And I thought the scenes with the demon with sizzling. Nice chemistry there. Dean definitely prefers the brunettes doesn't he? First Tessa the reaper and now the hot demon girl...both show up as sultry brunettes to get his attention. LOL! I'd love to see either one come back to flirt and torment him some more.

I agree so far this was the best episode of the season. I enjoyed every aspect of it :)

The MySpace comment was funny poor Dean.

Sammy wanting to be a big bad ass, like his brother. And the pout when he wasn't listed in the database.

Dean speaking Latin- Oh god how hot was that. (sorry fangirl moment)

Sam jumping into the circle :)

Sam worried about his big brother, wondering if he would have made the deal.

Dean and the Demon chick very hot. ;)

The Black Dog was creepy because we never saw it. I actually jumped a few times.

Great Episode, Great Snark, Great Angst and Humor.

It is now tied with Faith as being my favorite Episode.

A beautiful, angsty ep with stellar performances from JP and JA. Yes, Dean gets confirmation about his father's deal...please let there be some resolution to that at some point in time *without* Dean having to go to hell to do it. And the "Soon" preview. Kripke is EVIL...but in a good way! The wait is going to be horrible...but worth it from the looks of the preview.

I absolutely loved this episode. Of course, I love the episodes most of the time. This went more into what the characters were/are going through. I have got to tell you that I was at the edge of my seat when (during the previews) Dean atarted to tell Sam what John had said about him. I actually screamed at the tv cause I wasn't ready for the show to end.
JA and JP continue to impress me with their acting and chemistry. I can totally see them as brothers. Of course, I have liked JA since Days of Our Lives. He has only gotten better with time. I can't wait for the next new episodes. Great Show!

Wow. Classic, simply classic. i so loved the episode. for a minute there i thought dean was going to make a deal with the demon to bring john back. sam was pretty smart steppin into the circle. i can not wait to learn what john told dean. I LOVE SUPERNATURAL !!!

I have to say that I agree with you, this has been the best episode yet. Everything about it was awesome! The acting from all was amazing and the story was great. I am more into this show then I have ever been with any show and I'm loving every minute of it!

This was a great episode, with one minor quibble with the actress playing the demon Dean summoned. I think she was pretty weak and wish they'd gotten a stronger actor there. She just wasn't pulling off the demon vibe very well.

Other than that, I thought it was a very solid episode. I enthusiastically look forward to any episodes with Sera Gamble listed as a writer.

Jensen continues to impress with the way he conveys his conflicted emotions within. Such a joy to watch.

Okay, this was a classic ep. Definatly
I must point one thing out...the my space comment. He was doing a shout out. He had a my space account and was being harrassed. So, he deleted it. But before doing so he posted that he would be giving a 'shout out' to one person on his friends list. Ta Da!
Very cool!

We're nominating this as the best episode of the season – possibly the best of the series thus far.

You got that right. :) That episode was so intense. The story was great, the guest stars were great and Dean and Sam...just wow. The funny was adorable and the angst was heartwrenching. Jensen Ackles is an amazing actor and the pure chemistry between him and Jared Padalecki is beautiful to watch.

This one may just have bumped Faith/IMToD out of the top spot for my favorite episode. AT the very least it's a three-way tie. Wait I forgot Devil's Trap. OK nevermind. Lists are dumb anyway.

But Crossroads Blues was just perfect...not a single nitpick comes to mind. Jensen was just amazing. He really is the best young actor working in telelvision today. And I love that the Dean seems to have their very own collection of fangirl demons and reapers. Hee! Sing it sisters: Dean's suffering is a thing of beauty.

Jared also did a great job this episode. He's such a perfect little brother.

Awesome just awesome.

Great episode. The affect John's death has on our fav guys is beinging to show through. Sam is leaning toward a life of hunting and Dean seams to be leaning away. Very different from Season 1.

We all know that JA's talent is progressing more and more in each episode. I feel that I need to comment on JP's talent in this episode. He did a great job in the last scene, when Dean wouldn't respond to Sam's question of whether or not Dean considered making a deal with the demon, we saw how it would affect Sam if he lost his big bro. So much more than losing John. JP really made you feel for Sam.
Also, it made me a little P.O.'d that Dean would be hipocritical enough to even consider making a deal with a demon that would end his life. Does he think Sam wouldn't be shattered?

Looking forward to the upcoming episodes. Glad to see Ash will be back. I can stomach Ellen. Her character is a link to John's past, which I think many of us want to know more about. Hope Jo is not back. Sorry to Alona fans, but she's no Sarah Michelle Gellar. I'm not believing Jo as a fighter. Also, I don't see where this character fits into the main story line. Jo, all around, is not working for me.
Will be nice to see more characters tied to the Demon and the types of abilities they possess. Maybe one will help Sam learn how to control and use his.

This was certainly the best episode this season, and maybe the best overall. It did have everything and I loved it. I never would have thought a show like this would have sucked me in to this degree, but it has, and I couldn't be happier.

I thought that episode was fantastic, I got really teary at the end. I can not wait for the upcoming episodes!!

I have to agree with you, well, it's a tie with IMTOD, which was also an excellent episode. This epi was awesome and what more can I say. Dean and demonLady trumping back and forth for power, Sam, poor worried Sam that Dean would have actually considered the deal to bring daddy back, the invisible Hellhounds, the blues music, the Crossroads legend, the snark, the humor. Jensen and Jared's acting is as always great and I'm so glad this show not only has great writers with an abundance of imagination, but great actors that can bring their writing to life. Loved it all.

dean can"t die!noooooooooo
da SOON thing dat was nice
i can"t wait until next week

Another amazing episode. I'm floored by how much of a character driven show Supernatural is. When I first started watching the series I was expecting pretty boys shooting ghosts with rock salt, not deep and meaningful characterizations and stories, as well as emmy worthy performances by Jensen Ackles. Supernatural has surpassed all of my expectations. As a huge Buffy and Angel fan, I think that SN's first and second season has been far greater than the first couple of seasons of those two shows. If Eric Kripke and co. keep up the greatness, SN will blow the other seasons out of the water as well.

In closing I would like to mention that I am not looking forward to seeing Ellen again. I thought that we were done with her (at least for awhile). Ash is entertaining. But a little Ash goes along way.

I loved the episode! I just hope Dean didn't make a deal with the demon and he will die and 10 years. HE CAN"T DIE! Also was that Gunther in the soon promo? Also Sam can't have that virus. The virus thing is still a what to me but I can't wait. OH and we get polls now sweet. Cw keep up the great work on Supernatural but please get us more rating.

Another excellent episode! Kudos to whoever decided to put the "SOON" at the end of the last scene. It is an excellent way of giving the viewer the preview for next week (or the week after) while they are still there. Plenty of times I don't sit through the commercials to see if a preview is going to come back on. Plus, it might come on too late - I might be on another station for the show coming up next.

The FBI database scene was priceless. The MySpace = porn site dialogue was classic - right up there with Dean's comment about Paris Hilton in the night vision view. Sam hopping into the circle was too funny. Dean's deal with and trapping the demon was done very well. I am constantly impressed with the balance of story development and plain entertainment value of Supernatural.

This show makes me count down to Thursday nights!
