Good news folk's THE OC IS COMING BACK, it is official, Josh Schwartz has planned it's re-birth for either november 2nd 2008/november 20th 2008.

Cw are possibly the newtork to be hosting it too, Only one problem i see for fans is JOSH SCHWARTZ is totally re-vamping the show but keeping the original oc's backgrounds and basics, HE might be moving the O.c to NYC or a different part of california/l.a-new york

Now a fifth series how could that work without it being in Orange County, simple he'd make up a name like Oc 2 NYC etc etc, but i could be wrong with the location

EVERYONE OF THE CAST WAS HAPPY WITH THE OC and planning on 5 yes FIVE seasons, but during series 3, mischa barton got offered MOVIE ROLES and abit of her fame from hanging around with paris hilton (dammm) got her a bit big headed, MISCHA ie marrissa told JOSH SCHWARTZ she wouldnt come back for a 4th/5th series and wanted to quid TO DO MOVIES, so with that she disrupted the whole cast, a few got nervous and in the end caleb i.e alan dale refused to sign on as did jimmy coopers character and 1-2 others AND yes jimmy guest appeared he wasnt a reg character anymore

Mischa Barton, beautiful as she is, got abit to carried away with fame which ended up getting the oc cancelled as benjamin mackenzie and adam brodie weren't happy with her leaving especially rachel bilson (summer), they panicked and had to change storylines and had taylor be ryans new love interest instead of bring theresa back, who remember is carrying ryans child without him knowing still, wouldn't that of been better if trey-eddie would of turned up at start of 4th series and been like hey bro, whats it like being a dad - eddie)how could u do this man etc etc ryan finds out he's a father and build a fourth series around him being architect in colleges etc seth becoming a major comic book maker/investor/seller gettin engaged not married, anna returning to spice things up between seth and ryanand ryan and theresa, again one drunken fling between anna and ryan could of shaken up seth and his friendship to the core, i liked anna alot more than theresa marrisa and taylor, i love samire (samir) armstrong she is beautiful :) (also i love allison mack chloe off smallville, 2 most beautiful women i've ever seen but hey thats just me lol)

Panic over THE OC WILL RETURN EITHER NOVEMBER 2008 OR EARLY-MID 2009, it might be in la, new york or florida i don't officially know yet (good reason for moving a new cast or reinventing the oc, new storylines and new places too see and visit, spring break 4th july etc

Whether its the 4th or 5th series, ive lost count it will be back withing the next year or so so don't worry my fellow oc fans, sad news is the original cast might not all return 1-2 might, good news the new oc could be based around luke-caitling-lukes brothers his father-possibly ryan with seth guest appearing a few episodes but nor a regular or the other way around with ryan showing up a few times, and also new cast members to add a more mature teen feel to it, to show the show has grown up alot

i am from England and quite frankly i love the OC. i am not the biggest tv fan ever but the OC was just the best and quite frankly i am pissed off with Fox cancelling it because they are selfish bastards. In england, it is missed very much, to be honest the other day, a poll said that the OC is most missed tv series ever and if anyone in production or Josh Schwatz is reading this or any OC members or cast reading this, try and get it back on as soon as possible. i am working to become a media director just to get the OC back thats how much i love and i think all the fans should come together and get it back on our screens. Actually I know it's to late for begging to bring The O.C. back but it would mean a lot for many people out there in the world. The fourth Season was awesome and I'd love to see more of it. I bet that Gossip Girl will never reach the level and the fans of The O.C.

i cant take this. im literally crying my eyes out. i just watched the season3 fianle where marissa died on DvD for the 6th time.. it gets me everytime. I personally think killing her off was horrible, and then you go and have season4 which wasnt have as good as the other seasons[[because marissa died]] and cancel it! NO! everyone loves this show. i mean everyone. the best show ever. I really am not happy with FOX. I always loved the O.C> of course, and House, 24, and American Idol. Cause Net 5 (the Dutch channel which is broadcasting the OC) has just broadcast the episode when Johnny died, we'va still like 25 episodes left. However, I watched all the season four episodes, and I loved the series finale.. Julie who is graduating, Seth and Summer are getting married... Ryan who is a succesfull architect..

I haven't always been an OC fan.

My friends got me hooked halfway into the second season. And when I say hooked. I mean hooked.

I ended up getting my mom and my sisters into it as well as a couple other friends that were ignorant to it's bliss.

While I believe the last season started out very well, dark and complicated, just how i like em, after awhile, the script begin to seem rushed, as if the show didn't have enough time to finish all it wanted to say.

I believe that The OC deserves a second chance. Let us see the rest of the character's lives, and for once, see a good teenage drama that doesn't fall apart after the climax of a few highschool years.

season four blows i'm sorry but the show has become one gimmick after another. "38 hours ago" "12 hours ago" christmas dream, more flashbacks on valentine's day it's hokey i don't know what people are complaining about with season three, it was awesome and serious this year the show is a joke and i'm not laughing if you wanna know why the show went off the air it's not marissa, it's bad writing i own seasons 1, 2, and 3 i won't be buying season 4 unless it's like $10

I'm 48 and totally hooked on The OC. It's the only weekly show that I have watched since its debut in 2003. After The OC, nothing else can ever compare! I know people as young as 25 and as old as 63 who are also major fans. I pray that some miracle happens and The OC gets picked back up. I was fully committed to start watching CW shows in gratitude for them saving our show. Key word here being *was*. But I'd be willing to take that back if The CW picked up The OC. Where will we get our weekly Ryan fix?? One of these networks needs to snatch up Ben McKenzie and some of the other actors from The OC and get them back on series television, stat!

This is my favorite show of all time. I am 31 and I still love it. I've got my 52 year old mom completely wrapped up in it too. I would be really glad to hear if there will be another season or not. Season 5 would be great. It definetly beats out everything else for me.

I love the idea of continuing the 5th season of The OC on The CW. I think that many viewers will be curious to see what the writers have come up with for 5th season. There is so much potential for this show seeing that the characters are starting new chapters in their lives. I would hate to see this show end! I really wanted to see if Seth and Summer get married, if Ryan graduated and started a life of his own, or if Kaitlyn ended up following in Julie's "the girl you love to hate" footsteps. I just see so many new exciting suprises in the future of The OC. The writers have not yet failed to suprise us, so why stop now?

I have faith, like other commenters, that The CW actually cares about its viewers- apparently unlike FOX. All of these other comments perfectly state the benefits of adding The O.C. to your network and if I was to type them all out again I would be here for a VERY long time. The bottom line is this: PLEASE save a show that means the world to over 4 million people. It's all we can ask from you. Please stop four million hearts across the country from breaking.

The O.C. has not become worse since Marissa died, it has in fact actually become more substantial. Marissa added a lot of unneeded drama, and baggage, and without her the show is honestly better off. Some people though, are too tied up in the notion that RYAN + MARISSA = LOVE . It doesn't and to stop supporting such an amazing show because one character is gone is absurd. There WILL be supporters if this show is continued on your network. I can't stress this enough: PLEASE.

Dear Ms. Ostroff:

Please, please tell me that you are seriously considering picking up The OC and running it on the CW Network as has been widely rumored. The existence of a CW 11 Tribune Poll and Blog would seem to indicate that the possibility may exist, although I do recognize that the blog/poll is hosted by the New York Station CW11 and likely not by the main CW Network office.

I can not even begin to tell you how devastated I am by the Fox Network’s complete and utter disregard for the fans of The OC. They posted their own Save the OC Poll which at last count was upwards of 525,000 votes; and email Fox all of the reasons that we love the OC. What did Fox do with this information? absolutely nothing. Apparently 4.5 Million people don’t amount to much. They didn’t even have the common decency to post the cancellation of the show on the Fox OC Boards; they let all of us fans find out for ourselves. I’m sorry, but that is just the worst blatant show of the worst disrespect I’ve ever seen. What was all of the hoop-la about? Can you tell me?

I’ve got news for the Fox Network; 4.5 million people are not nothing. I never intend to watch another program on the Network as long as I’m alive once the OC ends. I only started watching their programming (American Idol) while waiting for the OC to come on. It started during the 2nd Season of American Idol; I started watching Idol while waiting for the OC to come on. Eventually I began to give Fox’s other shows a shot and soon after found that I was mostly watching Fox programming in support of the Network that carried by favorite show of all time. As of January 3rd, the day Fox cancelled the OC I’ve cancelled watching anything on Fox except the OC.

I'm a big fan of your network and apparently not in your target market, but you had me at Smallville! I became addicted to Smallville while looking for something to watch on Sunday nights a few years back, there were 57 channels and nothing on. Anyway the CW Network made the wise decision to replay their young shows on Sundays at 5 and 6 pm respectively, both Smallville and One Tree Hill, so I watched and became a fan. In addition I love Supernatural; of course, I don't get to watch it, because the OC is on at the same time. But if the CW Network picked up the OC and put it on after One Tree Hill that would just be the perfect lead in for the OC, or vice versa. I couldn't believe that Fox didn't make use of The OC: they switched the OC to Wednesday for one night. And when they did it ran at the same time as One Tree Hill and the mid-season finale of Lost. How stupid is that? That's Fox asleep at the stick as usual. Put The OC on after One Tree Hilo and draw back in the teeny bop viewers.

Like I said above, when THE OC premiered I began watching all of Fox's other shows, Bones, House, American Idol….. I had never seen the first season of American Idol, but watched it when THE OC premiered while waiting for THE OC to come on. Since The OC has been cancelled by Fox I will no longer watch the FOX Network at all once The OC concludes. Fox has completely and thoroughly mismanaged THE OC for many seasons now and could stand to learn a thing or two about promoting and supporting a show from the CW Network. Your network knows how it's done. Apparently the only shows that Fox is interested in are: House, Bones and Standoff. Fox runs them several times each week. They cancel new shows right off the bat without giving them a chance to gain an audience. I really don't have anything positive to say about the Fox Network. Fox shuts down everything for baseball while all the other shows are premiering for the season. They lose people right out of the gate, because people make their viewing decisions in the beginning of the season while Fox is airing baseball.

Fox apparently no longer cares about the OC and has never been successful in shoring up the OC with an appropriate lead-in for the show. In my opinion, and that of many others, the CW Network is the perfect fit, because almost any of the shows the CW currently has on its network fit nicely with The OC. I say do it, do it now, because the fans of the OC are unshakeable and we will support the network that carries our favorite show. That's why we, the fans, have chosen to contact the CW Network to plead our cause to you directly.

Why do I love the OC so much? From the start, I was completely and utterly captivated by the OC. My love affair with the OC began in the Summer of 2003 when Fox was promoting the heck out of the show and I thought, hmmm, this looks promising, I’m going to have to tune in to find out what this is all about, I needed to find out what happened to that kid from Chino and his attorney. I watched the first episode and was and have been compelled to tune in every week thereafter to find out what happened next. I’m always on the end of my seat watching and I’m pretty sure holding my breath, even when I wasn’t thrilled with the storylines. I had to watch, it’s The OC. And I love The OC to pieces.

What exactly started my obsession with The OC, other than Josh Schwarz’s invitation to Obsess completely? Where do I start? The actors, the writing, the storylines, the music, the settings and the attention to detail, the shout outs that call to mind a completely unrelated subject. They make me bark at the TV in hilarity, i.e., last episode, the story on Meerkats that the Cohen family was watching was a shout out to fans in the know who know that Ben in Junebug tried to tape a Meerkat documentary for his wife, and that Meerkat Manor is a popular show), remain in my opinion unduplicated by any other program out there, the likes of which we will never see again, and the very thought of it makes me heartsick. I find very difficult to even write this letter, it is bringing tears to my eyes and lump in my throat. A world without the OC? Oh please no. No matter how hellish my week is I know that for one night during the week I’ll be transported from my troubles, problems and woes and completely entertained from start to finish, and that means a lot to me as I’m sure it does others. It relaxes me, makes me laugh, cry, giggle, groan and snort and I’ll admit bark at the set once in a while.

Over the years I have come to sincerely love these characters, the way that they are written and the amazing talent displayed by the actors themselves, they breathe such life into them, that they’re real to all of us fans. I can’t imagine never having them enter my home again after February 22, 2007. That thought gives me a sickening feeling in the pit of my stomach. What to say about all of them? Ryan (Ben McKenzie): the range of emotions this guy is able to convey without uttering a sound, he’s so amazing at the non-verbal stuff, and that’s not an easy task that Josh set for him, but he nails it every time. And he’s just so great at deadpan, he cracks me up. He’s brought such warmth and honesty to this tough kid from Chino with a heart of gold, that little sideways look/glare and that smile when it lights up his face makes everyone feel good. Then there’s Sandy (Peter Gallagher). What I can say, I love him, doesn’t everyone wish they knew Sandy Cohen, boy, he could sell any used car in a lot, he’s present in the scene, he’s just so Sandy. Julie (Melinda Clark): what can’t this woman do, comedy, drama, she’s just delicious. And Adam Brody (Seth), he and Rachel Bilson (Summer) are just magical together on scene, and nothing beats Seth/Ryan time, nothing. Kirsten (Kelly Rowan) brings such needed warmth to every scene she’s in, she’s golden. The new characters, Taylor (Autumn Reeser): hilarity at it’s finest and her chemistry with Ryan is undeniable. It must be said that I didn’t like Kaitlyn (Willa Holland) in Season 3, but this season, I’m loving her. Underneath what we thought was a mean streak is actually a soft heart. She’s Julie’s daughter completely!

This said, I now have to tell you about the Overseas Fans of the show. They must be included as they’re such good friends of mine and have been for a very long time. They have no say in our rating system here, but they must be mentioned. They’re wonderful people, from Australia, Canada, England, Germany…..etc. Warner Brothers needs to recognize that these people are fans too and they’re out there downloading the episodes as soon as they can because they can’t wait to find out what happens next. Actually that’s not good enough for some of my friends and immediately following the show, I have to email them a blow by blow description of the night’s show, then they download and then watch it again when it’s in their country, and then run out to the store or get on line as soon as the DVD is available to order it. JUST LIKE THE FANS HERE DO!!!!

When I originally started watching the OC, I didn’t realize how addicted I would become, but around about the 6th episode I started recording it as well as watching. Now, I actually watch, TIVO, and tape the show so there’s no way I won’t have a copy of the episode, and then I buy it on DVD when it becomes available. So when the 1st Season ended, I thought, I can’t wait till October to get the DVD to see it again, I need to be able to watch this again and again all summer. When I did get the DVD I must’ve loaned it out at least 10 times to get additional friends interested in the show, not to mention the friends I got hooked by making them watch it again with me. At the start of every season we’d have an OC party, dinner, the previous seasons finale and the season premiere. I’ve never done that before for any other show.

Fox just completely mismanaged the handling of The OC nearly from the get go. They needed to strike with the iron when it was hot, but alas they did not. Season 2 came on in November after baseball and well after people had made their viewing decisions for the season. Big mistake. Season 3, they realized they were wrong so they started it before baseball then stopped it for that, and then moved the night which further mucked up the works. Fox then promised fans that if the show didn’t do well, they would move it back. They didn’t. Can you see the handwriting on the wall here? Fox just plain stopped caring about the show and/or doing anything to support it.
Well, I hope they’re happy with the decision because they’ve lost more than a few fans with their decision to cancel the OC; No OC, no Fox for me. I truly believe that the place for the OC is the CW Network. You guys try harder, you know how to support a show, and you show re-runs. Please pick up the show, put it on after One Tree Hill or before, as they are the perfect shows to follow each other. I never watched One Tree Hill or Smallville originally, but the CW Network knows how to rope in new fans, you guys ran re-runs of those shows on Sunday nights to draw in other viewers and that’s how I got sucked in. It was perfect and I was hooked. Now I promise you this, that should the CW Network grant me my heart’s desire and support my favorite show of all time (just to put it in perspective, I’ve never written to a Television Network in my life till I had to fight for the OC), I am prepared to support the CW Network in any and every way that I can and bring a few million of my friends with me. I already watch Smallville, I don’t watch Supernatural anymore because it’s on at the same time as the OC. Please, please pick up my show; it’s not time for its demise yet. The OC is such an excellent show, and there’s not a lot of that around. I realize that it is the aim of the CW Network to reach an audience of younger adults, those aged 18 to 34, who are especially sought by many advertisers. Warner Brother’s film division is a heavy advertiser on the CW Network, trying to reach that group, and as luck would have it Warner Brothers owns the rights to The OC. And Warner Brothers is a part of the CW Network, the CW Network and the OC, as Seth would say, “It’s an unbeatable combination!” TV Series Finale.com which says it would be a smart move for Warner Brothers to produce the OC for a 5th season to get it to 100 episodes, the benchmark for profitable syndication. What about all of the great music put out by the OC, I’m not ready to say goodbye to that either, that’s got to be a goldmine for Warner Brothers.
If Josh feels that he’s out of ideas and doesn’t know where to take the show after high school, I can think of several things off the top of my head. Jump ahead a few years or even a year or two, Ryan’s in college for architecture and working as an intern at a company, Julie marries Dr. Robert and Neil and buys the Architectural firm that Ryan works for and chaos ensues. Summer is an environmentalist or conservationist, Taylor is an interpreter and Seth is in art school working on his soon to be published comic book and learning from the ground up at a comic book publisher. Sandy still a Public Defender, Kirsten’s had another baby, Trey comes back to town gets into some kind of big time trouble, Sandy has to defend him and that pulls Ryan back in. Kaitlyn works for mommy and you know it’s not going to work. Just in case Josh says he’s out of ideas, it’s really not all about the parties and the bands anymore, there really haven’t been any this season and I don’t miss them. It’s all about the characters and we all love them to pieces.
I know that the CW Network is just the place for my favorite show and that your network will be able to do it justice, and unlike Fox, the CW Network won’t ignore their fans. Check out the Poll to Save the OC that Fox posted at: www.fox.com/oc/savetheoc: at last count there were 531,228 votes and we can’t all be wrong. The CW Network knows how it’s done. Bring us home! Warner Brothers needs to pick this show up and run with it, get it enough episodes to go into syndication. We want our show to stay on. I have plans to buy many more DVD’s of the seasons to come. Just think of the sales revenues worldwide from the DVD’s alone once The OC is taken into syndication. We’re so obsessed, we have to run out and buy the DVD’s the minute they hit the stores. Please help us out - we’re just not ready to say goodbye to our favorite show and our favorite boy from Chino, Ryan Atwood.
To quote him, “Having a dream doesn’t make you smart, knowing it won’t come true, that does!” Do us a favor and prove Fox wrong much like Sandy Cohen proved Ryan wrong on the show, by showing him just how easily his dreams could come true. The CW Network just has to pick up the OC now that Fox has dropped the ball and said goodbye to the best show I’ve ever seen, The OC (Obsessed Completely and we’d like to stay that way), yes that’s what we the fans are, we can’t help ourselves. Please, please pick up The OC and breathe life back into my favorite show and its wonderful characters. Please, please make all of our dreams come true and allow us the opportunity to say, “Welcome to the CW…………Switch!”

Hello, I have been reading quite a few other Emails from other avid fans from the OC and I Had an epiphany. According to the ratings the OC is only getting around 4 million viewers a show (which by the way I believe will vastly improve if moved to the CW) but most of thosee viewers are diehard obsessed willing to watch a few of your other shows just if the oc is saved by you. So in reality the CW is not just gaining a show who has a Rock solid hard core foundation that will be solid no matter where it goes, but they are also gaining alot more viewers for your other shows, and more importantly they are coming from fox . by taking the OC you are picking up a show that wil generate alot of publicity, which (no offense) but the CW needs. Fox seemed to give up on the OC even before season 4 started but judging by the way fans have reqacted to this season the OC still has alot to give, If only it is given a season or two to prove it , trust me you wont be disapointed . If you put the OC and OTH together obn the same network, maybe even the same day, back-to-back , the ratings are gonna fly up. People are saying the two are somewhat similiar, I myself tried to watch an episode but couldnt get into it, but Im sure if they are back to back a good 2/3 of both audiances will overlp and be watching the other show hlfway through the season. I understand that the situation is complicated with some of the actors and creators' but If you can see what true potential the OC has and hasnt unlocked yet than you can find a way to get it on the CW.
If you cant see its potential than it wont matter what anyone says, your not gonna pick it up, and if you do chances are it wont suceed becuase if the CW doesnt truly believe in The OC thant it might let go some of the Key actors,( just about everyone)or some of the key producers creators ect..(just about everyone). The CW has a big decision to mqke but I have faith you will make the right decision and get the OC,

I am a proud fan of both OTH and the OC. Therefore, I support both CW and FOX, but now that I found out FOX is dropping the OC, I have given you all of my faith because after season 4 of the OC ends, OTH is all I will have. Just think, the OC would be such a great addition to your network and bring such a major fanbase. PLEASE pick up the OC, that's all I ask of you. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!

I'm not even exaggerating when I say that the OC=life.

I own all 3 season dvd box sets, the OC board game, the OC fragrance, and the OC 2007 calendar.
The CW and the OC are a perfect match! It would fit right in with your current shows NOT TO MENTION boost your popularity and earn you more money.

Season 4 has really helped the OC and I think the show has more potential now then ever before, including season 1.
I know that Josh Schwartz and all the other OC writers still have great ideas to get out, so please give them that chance. If they can't come up with more story lines, no joke, I will honestly fly out to their studio and take over the writing job. Anything to keep the OC alive.

I just rewatched the whole series of The OC (again), and I’m begging you … please bring The OC to The CW! Don’t give up on this show! Haven't you ever had a show that you loved so much and never wnated it to end. That is how the oc fans feel. This show will be a perfect fit for the cw11 becasue the shows on the cw11 last long. I know it will be the same for the oc. The cw11 has the best shows and the oc will bring more viewers. If it wasn't a good show then so many people wouldn't be begging the show to put the oc on your show. So please do us a favor and let the oc air on the cw11. I, for one, believe that FOX has made a huge mistake in cancelling this series. I think they lost hope on the show when they moved it to its current (and final) time slot on Thursday nights. There are several advantages to Warner Bros moving the OC from Fox to the CW.
1. Syndication - For a series to be sucsessful in syndication, an episode count of at least 100 is normally recquired for the total series fun. This keeps the show fresh if it's aired daily, Monday through Friday, without reairing nearly the entire series in a months time. The OC, I believe, will be about 8 episodes under that 100 episode limit when it airs its "finale" episode on February 22nd. If the series was moved over to the CW for at least another 16 episodes, syndication would be more profitable for Warner Bros and it's parent company Time Warner.
2. DVD Sales
While I haven't looked at the demographics and numbers on the DVD sales for seasons 1-3, one can only assume that a 5th or 6th season on The CW would lead to profits via DVD sales and stategic advertising.
3. Increasing Popularity
On every Friday after an episode premiere this season, the episode has been posted by "somebody" on the uber-popular Youtube website.... and each time an episode is posted, it becomes one of the top ten most viewed videos for that day for that day and the following day. Fox has since ended it's broadcast of OC episodes via it's own Myspace website, while the latest OC episodes are uploaded on to YouTube weekly.
4. The One Tree Hill/The OC night.
Both of these shows have similar fan appeal, and perhaps airing them on the same network, on the same night, in the right time slot could garner substantial ratings for the CW in it's sophomore season.

These are just a few of the top (e.g. "money making") upsides to Warner Bros moving the show to it's CW Network.

i'm an avid viewer of the oc, seriously never miss an episode it is my favourite tv show ever.

the main thing i wanted to point out is that the oc has a large international fan base, for example season 4 has just started in the uk and in magazines it is billed as the show to watch, aka pick of the day, every time it is on. i'm not just talking about the five channels of terrestrial television - i'm talking about the hundreds of channels on cable also. i think that speaks for itself, to the uk the oc is the best thing on tv... fans and critics alike love it.

the cw is the best place for the oc to be, it fits in with your target audience and will also bring new viewers to the network. whilst it has been described as a teen drama there is a wide range of viewers who watch and love the show, from pre-teens to beyond middle age people. the number of people who began watching other shows on fox because of the oc is high and i believe a move to the cw will be the best thing for the oc and your network. i think it will fit in effortlessly with your already established cw programming and will boost ratings, making the cw a network to be reckoned with.

what i love most about the show is even though it is set in a place that is alien to most of us, it is completely believable and very easy to relate to thanks in no small part to the amazing writing talent of stephanie savage and acting abilities of the likes of the outstanding peter gallagher, kelly rowan, melinda clarke and benjamin mckenzie.

i have honestly never seen a performance like the ones by ben and melinda that can actually move me to tears, that they convey exactly how the character is feeling and make you feel it too. to me, they personify the term raw talent.

people really care about this show and i think it will really blossom on a network that will give it the respect that i
