Veronica Mars: We'll Get You Through The Hiatus
We’re digging in for our long, hard winter hiatus without new episodes of Veronica Mars. Sob! We know it’s tough, but we’ll do what we can to make the weeks until January 23 fly by sharing news, gossip, snark and other tidbits we pick up along the way. Enjoy!
Get the scoop
E!Online’s Kristin talks to producer and show creator Rob Thomas about what to expect from the rest of the season. Apparently, they’re moving away from the third long mystery arc: “There has been talk—more than talk—about dropping the whole big mystery idea after this middle mystery and to do all stand-alone episodes and sort of a combination of a few things. The network is behind it, and I am interested in heading in that direction.” We have to admit, we’re disappointed. What do you think?
Give Kristen a call
Do you have a little – ok, a lot – of spare cash lying around? You could buy yourself a 10-minute Skype phone conversation with Kristen Bell. Our intrepid heroine is participating in the ebay auction to raise money for The Young Storytellers Foundation, a charity dedicated to improving the lives of elementary school children by increasing literacy, building self-esteem, and celebrating each child’s creativity through mentoring the children in the art of storytelling. No word on whether she’ll be giving out hints on who killed Dean O’Dell. The bidding ends on December 10, so start scraping your pennies together!
Critical acclaim for Logan
Zap2It columnist TV Gal singles out Logan Echolls as one of the 10 most compelling characters on TV today. Her rationale: “Logan is more that just a bad boy with a heart of gold. Played wrong, we would never want our Veronica with him, but my heart broke for Logan in last week's episode.” We couldn’t agree more.

VM deserves to be on the air. The show is smart, and frankly viewers have become dumb. This is a step in the right direction. This show totally deserved the spot over Everwood. In reality the show that should have gone was 7th Heaven how many years has that been on and who cares any more.

I understand why Rob Thomas is dropping the longer mystery arcs in the hopes of attracting new viewers. But it's too bad because I've always liked that element of the show. Really it's too bad that most TV viewers are morons who prefer being spoonfed the pablum that is most network television these days.

Ashley, I also didn't like Everwood being cancelled. However, I would say that Veronica Mars definitely deserved the spot on the network. There are not that many shows that feature a female lead with strong family ties especially with the cancellations of Alias and Charmed. Of course, I loved Everwood and wished it had also gotten a spot on the CW network.
I am not sure how I feel about dropping the mystery arcs. I will have to see how RT goes about doing it. I would love to see the mystery arcs continue in some form. However I would also love to see RT take the time to deal with the fallout or aftermath of all that has happened to the characters over the past three years. Whatever happens it is my hope that Veronica Mars gets better ratings and more people discover this delightful show. Of course, I also want to see the show renewed for season 4.
I would also love to see a movie of the week featuring the cast of Everwood preparing for Andy and Nina's wedding. There is my 2 cents worth.

God help us through the hiatus???? GOD HELP THE CW!!! This ratings bleeding show can barely register 3 million a week for NEW episodes, let alone repeats! Poor network....
Sounds like dropping the third mystery arc is a HUGE cry for attention in order to try and get the shouldntve-gotten-a-3rd-season drama a 4th season. Apparently the show is too complex for ppl to get into for the first time, while in the middle of long story arc. After all, since the CW cut the show down to 20 eps instead of 22, that's not a good sign either!!! WHY DID THIS SHOW GET PICKED OVER EVERWOOD!!! It was rated SO SO SO much lower!!! Even One Tree Hill too. All the other CW drams strong ratings winners and deserved a spot on this network...but not VM. If it gets cancelled this year, then what a waste!

Love that show. It is one of my favorites.
Poor Logan. I felt so sorry for him last episode. I kinda liked the two of them together. He have that weird thing about him that drives me crazy. Do you think they will reconnect. Hope so.
