Veronica Mars: Sheriff Lamb? Nooooooooo!
What? Sheriff Lamb? Nooooooooo! Yes, he was an obnoxious jerk who terrorized Keith and Veronica. Yes, he had an unerring instinct for jumping to the wrong conclusion in just about any mystery. Yes, we think Keith would make a better sheriff. But that doesn’t mean we wanted him dead! We were shocked when Mindy’s ex bludgeoned him during the home invasion, but we still didn’t expect him to end up like that. Wow.
But let’s back up a bit: What a great episode. The mysteries were appropriately twisty, the lines were deliciously snarky, and a couple of character-development whammies made us squeal with delight. Plus, just about everyone showed up – Wallace! Mac! Weevil! Parker! Vinnie! Cliff! Lamb! We think the only people we were missing were Dick and Piz. Vote on your favorite character moment in the polls!
Let’s start with the fun stuff: The Valentine’s Day scavenger hunt was pretty adorable. We love that Logan got sucked into the madness, and we’re actually glad that he had such a good time with Parker. We hope this isn’t going to make things even more awkward between him and Veronica, but let’s face it – things have never not been awkward between those two. Plus, Mac and Bronson got it on. Eeeeeee! Oh, Mac, we’re so happy you’ve found a guy to help you get over the trauma that was Cassidy.
As film noir fans, we have to say we loved the way this episode was shot. Did you notice all the off-kilter camera angles, the way the shadows fell across the scenes, hell, even Mindy’s femme fatale hair and makeup? Good stuff.
And then there were all the shocking twists and turns in the mystery arena. We found out how Josh used peanut butter cookies to break out of jail -- apparently he’s not as dumb as he looks. He is, however, maybe a little psycho – what’s with kidnapping Mason and throwing him in the trunk of his car? We found out what happened to the coach – assisted suicide disguised as a carjacking to take him out before Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (wait – as in Mad Cow disease?) resulted in a painful death. We’re not quite sure why Josh still needed to flee the country – surely if the insurance company thought the coach was murdered, the double indemnity clause wouldn’t kick in? -- but we felt bad for him nonetheless. But oh, Veronica – work on that plausible deniability for Keith from now on – he’s going to need that.
The plot thickens with the Dean O’Dell murder, too. Who bugged Landry’s phone? Did Mindy’s ex type O’Dell’s fake suicide note? Now that the timeline for the fatal shot has been moved back one hour, what does this mean for all the suspects? How did Landry’s bloody shirt get in the heating system – and how did it get bloody in the first place? And seriously, mad cow disease being mentioned out of nowhere? We can’t help but wonder if that fits in somewhere, too. Perhaps we’re getting paranoid.

i been reading about VM on the net and i can't believe that veronica and logan are going to break up i think they are suck because they are suck a good couple and i think they should get back together because they belong together !!!!!!
i can't believe that the sheriff Lamb died but i didn't like hime that much anyway. is it true that piz is going to end up with veronica i hope not.
I WOULD LIKE IF THEY DO A SEASON FOUR BECAUSE IT IS THE BEST SHOW EVER

For anyone who doesn't know, "Friend of Dorothy" is a reference to someone being gay.
I am not happy about the Logan/Parker thing, but at least it might make Veronica want to get back together.

Lamb was a HUGE loss to the show. A fan favorite. I wouldn't be surprised if they killed him off to give him his own show.

whats this crap about VM taking an 8 weeks hiatus because of the pussycat dolls reality show?! that sucks. i'm so sick of stupid reality shows.
although i do think giving VM and OTH an additional 3 epi's this season was a very smart move. wanna be even smarter? RENEW VM FOR A 4TH SEASON! Cancel it and your going to lose a good portion of your viewers (me included)! can you afford to take that gamble?

So sad that Sheriff Lamb died. He was the jerk we loved to hate! I was in complete shock! I was not expecting that at all. Sad. :(
Parker and Logan? Hmm...I don't like it, mostly b/c I'm biased towards LoVe. Maybe they can be just friends...? I wouldn't want them dating.
About the O'Dell murder...I think Professor Landry did it!

please cw staff i live in france and we just starting to watch the 1st season but i saw the show via itune and i love it, it's the best show never airing in the usa. so please, please, please give us a 4 season please.

Sheriff Lamb, dead? well, I for one will be in mourning, at least until next week. Yeah, he was an ass, but he was hilarious, crazy and I LOVED his interactions with Veronica. I think he had a certain respect for her. more than he did for that deputy that he always snaps at anyways.
I loved Wallace's responce to him, the friend of Dorothy bit? I have been a FAITHFUL VM fan, from time immemorial so I got it right away. Laughter so hard, I lost the next line.
I hope they keep VM on for at least one more season. Two or three more if they can. and they can smuggle Duncun and lil'Lilly back into Neptune for a week or two, that would be graet. I am sure the Kane's can afford to pay off the sheriff's department so their son and grand daughter can spend some sort of holiday or birthday at home. As always,: "Veronica Mars is smarter than me."

Okay...Lamb, I have to say I was shocked, but now we can see Keith in action as Sheriff.
Parker/Logan...not excited about this. And where was Piz? Piz could have been the one on the scavenger hunt with Parker instead. And LoVe could prevail!!!
I can't wait until next week.
The Dorothy line dates back to the very first epi. I would not know this either, but I recently bought and have watched season 1 & 2 twice. I love them!!!

Great episode!Not like the preview episode,but also good...
But why kill Lamb?I didn't like him at first,but he grew on me and I was loving his caracter,the humor and all... I'm gonna miss him and it's a big lost to the show.
ALso,what's up with Logan & Parker??? Didn't like it... they were cute, but Logam belongs to Veronica. I love the jail scene between them...
OH I love this show so much! I need a 4th season, please!!!Don't cancell!!! And bring back Logan & Veronica EPIC LOVE!!!

I don't know about the rest of you guys out there, but i actually LIKED Sheriff Lamb. Sure he was a complete jerk, but in a way, a funny cool jerk. haha Thelma I totally agree with you on the whole doing the soap opera deal and just bring him back to life! I really wanted to KNOW his character! Remember that one episode from season 2, when he let Veronica and Duncan go after "arresting" them for breaking into that crazy strict father house? I just know there is good in him, and it was too bad we didn't get to see more.
Yay Wallace! They finally give him more than 2 lines. I really hope this new guy in Mac's life doesn't turn out to be another crazy person. Poor girl will lose hope in men forever!
As much as I love LoVe, and I was screaming "nooooo!" when Logan and Parker seem to be hitting it off, I have to admit to myself that their chemistry onscreen was pretty likeable. Logan and Parker will probably be like the Duncan and Meg. (hopefully though Parker won't get pregnant or ends up dying.)
And yes. I agree that Veronica will probably rebound with Piz.. ugh! WHY!?.
FINALLY Keith is sheriff again! He truly deserves it. I hope they solve the Deans case soon. I'm getting headaches from thinking who could be the killer! BUT NO ENDING OF VERONICA MARS! PLEASE! NEW SEASON!!!!

I think that the logan parker thing is actually good, she's happy (even with the whole rape thing going on) and he is always sad or angry, maybe she can make him happy until veronica made her mind or something.
I feel kinda weird about LAMB i hate the way he treated veronica and her father but i like the fact that at least one character don't agree with their opinions and stuff
I don't know why that guy that mac is with now (the one that loves animals) strike me as a weird one, i think is the actor's face

As far as lamb being killed.....bittersweet for me....But Logan and Parker....Nice twist....I think this will be a nice way to have veronica and piz go out....it is lovely to see the new quasi love interest...However...Veronica and Logan are like she said in the beginining of the season star crossed....They will eventually be together one day...i guess when the writers decide to stop the relationship drama between them...They are in love with each other...And i am hoping as a V-Mars fan....that the writers will stop this back and forth between them and concentrate on the mysteries of the show....I think this drama has been dragged out long enough.....

sorry but i have to disagree with you neil.
logan and veronica have been through way too much together to not have them be together in the end. as a teen drama watcher for many years now, i can basically predict whats going to happen in the shows (as far as relationships go) way beforehand and LoVe will definately be back, and when that happens, it will be for good.
seriously, lets recap: logan's saved her life twice by my count. and she's always been their for him when he's needed some sort of emotional support. he would still be with her if it wasn't for her breaking up with him. so him dating parker is his attempt to move on (since she said his hookup with madison was something she couldn't get past). but obviously, her expression when she saw logan and parker together shows that she's not over him.
and then there's the quote from that little girl - hannah?- from last week's epi "people in love shouldn't give up". i saw that as a hint to the audience.
so yes - there will be piz/veronica and logan/parker time - but just because their moving on doesn't mean there over their relationship.

Lauren I am with you about Lamb's death being a shocker. My jaw was on the floor. It's too bad that they can't take a page from soaps and bring him and Meg (I miss her) back. Ha! Ha! Just kidding!
The friend of Dorothy line came from Lamb's many comments over the past three years to go see the wizard and get a (fill in the blank). It references the pilot where Lamb told Wallace to go see the wizard and get a backbone.
As for the Parker/Logan hookup, it just makes me sick to watch. I am usually okay with them being temporarily with other people. However I would prefer him with Kendall or Hannah.
Although the one good thing about Parker/Logan hooking up, is that I actually can't wait to see Veronica try to rebound with Piz.
When will LoVe realize that they are better together then apart.

Piz is going to end up with Veronica. The LoVe thing you guys all hope for is pretty much done, don't you guys read about this stuff on the internet? Logan is going to ask Veronica if it is ok to be interested in Parker so let go of the Veronica/Logan love connection, it is gone. Last night's episode was a good one, but killing off Lamb is something I am not sure I really understand. We will see where they go from here.

ok let me start off by saying that i'm shocked that they killed off lamb! i mean, he's not my favorite character or anything, but i literally sat with my mouth wide open for about 5 minutes after keith got off the phone with the news. i'm excited to see how this will develop! :)
i honestly don't know what to think about the dean's murder... my money's on the wierd goth stepson myself...
logan and parker...totally wierd! i never thought to pair them together. but i know the writers are just gonna kill some time with piz and parker until LoVe figures stuff out so its all good. piz and parker should hookup instead! they'd be cute!
i'm happy mac has a guy. she looks great this season by the way! although my heart still breaks a little when i think about her and beaver (yeah yeah i know, but i just finished watching s1 and 2 on DVD...they were so cute together- i can't help it)!
am i the only one who didn't get the "true friend of dorothy" line that wallace said to lamb? i kept trying to figure it out, but i couldn't. lol maybe i'm just not smart enough...
good to see the old characters coming back into play (wallace, mac, ect.)
