Beauty and the Geek Media Wrap-Up
Yeah, we know, Beauty and the Geek is history, but we just can’t let go. And let’s face it, the reunion special was so… not special that we felt like we needed to give this crazy show (and its crazy fans) one last hurrah.
There’s a great interview with Nate in the Harvard Crimson, where he reveals how his life has changed since the show. Short answer: It hasn’t, much. He’s wearing deodorant on a more regular basis, but otherwise, he’s sticking to his studies and going back to his shaggy-geek ways.
What’s more, apparently things are over between him and Jennylee: “JennyLee’s dating Frankie Muniz. It adds to the absurdity.”
And what about Cecille? We’d speculated that she would have put a hit out on Nate, but apparently we were suckered by the editing. Nate swears she’s not as bad as people think. However, he admitted that Cecille “[is] a little upset at me right now. We’ve spoken once. I’m hoping we’ll still be friends.” He also reveals that Cecille boycotted the wrap party. Ouch.
Nate also talked to TVGuide, and told them why he thinks Cecille is separating herself from the show: “Unfortunately, I think Cecille felt like she was being attacked at the end. She had 15 people telling her, ‘You're in the wrong here.’ I think it's a natural reaction for people to get defensive. I think she has remained that way, to an extent.”
Wow. When he puts it like that, we almost feel bad for hating Cecille. And yet… we don’t.
Megan and Scooter also talked to TVGuide, and after reading their interview, we love them even more. Check out this bit, where they talk about what they’re going to do with the money:
Scooter: Mine is going to go to some pretty boring things.
Megan: Calculators....
Scooter: A new computer. And I'm going to call up Drew for investment advice.
Megan: ...Star Trek conventions.... He is an amazing actor, so he is going to support himself while he pursues an acting career in Hollywood.
Scooter: That's true, actually.
Then Megan goes on to promote Scooter’s acting career:
Megan: He has a huge theatrical background.
Scooter: I was working up in Montana, but yeah, I just moved down here a few weeks ago, and....
Megan: He's done several plays, Broadway quality.
Scooter: [Laughs] Megan's never seen any of my plays.
Megan: I've seen private performances, and I was very impressed. He played a wide variety of roles.
Scooter: You may have seen me in such movies as Brokeback Mountain, with Niels costarring.
Hee!
But the most shocking thing revealed in the TVGuide interview involved the walkie-talkie challenge on the beach:
Megan: I want to set the record straight right now that Scooter was pushing the wrong button! They made me look stupid, when I was way ahead. I was literally 10 minutes ahead of everybody else. They didn't want to make the geek look like an idiot; they wanted to make me look like an idiot.
Scooter: I'm not a tech-geek. It was embarrassing.
Ok, that? At first, is hysterical. But then, we actually got a little pissed. If it was Scooter’s fault, show that in on TV! Look, this is supposed to be a social experiment that proves people can’t be defined by the labels we put on them. That goes for you, too, editors. You damn well should have shown that Megan wasn’t the stupid one in that scenario. Harumph.
E!Online’s Kristin also dishes in the aftermath of the show, dispelling myths and righting wrong impressions. No, Scooter and Niels aren’t really hot for each other. No, Cecille isn’t totally friendless (Megan still likes her.) And most importantly – Megan tells her Nate and Jennylee actually got extremely intimate during filming. “I know everybody thinks they didn't have a chance to sleep together during the show, but I'm here to tell everyone that Nate and Jennylee had sex on the last night in the house.” Yowza! Although, considering how Megan exaggerated Scooter’s theatrical resume, we’re not sure we can really take her at her word. What do you think?

Wow that sucks about Jennylee dating Frankie Muniz. I'm just heartbroken. I guess what everyone was saying about her using Nate for fun while she was stuck with the geeks was true. That sucks.
I believe Megan about them doing it the last night though. I don't think she was exaggerating about Scooter's acting, I think she was just joking with him. If she says Nate and Jennylee slept together I believe it.

I COMPLETELY AGREE! I have never liked the character of Lana Lang and it is long overdue for her to be GONE! We need more Lois and especially CHLOE!<3
