'Progeny': Family Matters

Smallville
Is it just us, or did this episode seem to be all about the perils of parenting? You’ve got Lynda Carter - and boy, wasn’t she fantastic? - accidentally scarring her child, Lex (or perhaps someone else, but seriously, who else could it be?) making Lana think she was going to be a mother, and Martha, who we usually think is an exemplary parent, leaving the one thing that can harm her son in a decorative box on the living room table, as if it were some harmless tchotchke. Listen, Martha: Kryptonite needs to be locked up in a childproof cabinet along with all the hazardous cleaning supplies and pesticides, okay? It’s not something you leave lying around for a mind-controlled Chloe to just pick up on a whim!

We had a blast with this episode. Everyone got something to chew on. Chloe got to be badass with a gun, Clark got to be heroic, and Lana realized just how duplicitous her husband may be. We think they all nailed their scenes. But our top prize goes to Lex, who just seems to relish twisting the knife wherever he may be. We loved the way he came across all empathic to Lana and Mama Sullivan - “I’m hurting just as much as you are!”, “I know what it’s like to lose a mother!” - when he was just trying to manipulate all and sundry to his own ends. He’s a nasty man, that Lex, and we love him all the more for it.

Of course, Mama Sullivan showed she could hold her own. How great was it to hear her mind-control the escaped Krypto-criminal that he had to kill Lex? Should have thought of that, huh, Lex? Granted, it would have worked better if she were a little more specific - something like, “Come back to this creepy abandoned hospital right now and kill your evil overlord, young man. No dessert until Lex is dead!” perhaps, but we applaud her for thinking on her feet.

You’d think Mama Sullivan would have learned that she has to be specific after the incident with Chloe scrubbing her hands to bloody stumps as a child. But nope, then she has to come out with, “Do whatever you have to to get away.” No matter how angry she is, we don’t think Chloe would have dealt well with killing Lex in cold blood. Yes, he’s a supervillain in training, but she’s supposed to be one of the good guys, right? Of course, all the pistol-whipping and crippling Clark with Kryptonite gives us pause, but we’ll chalk that up to mom’s mind whammy.

We were sniffling as Chloe said goodbye to her mom and liked how Clark seemed to hold back, realizing that this was one time his superpowers couldn’t help the situation.

We were also impressed with Lana’s shocked reaction to learning that the pregnancy had been a lie. That’ll be something to discuss with Lex over the dinner table, won’t it?

Do you think Mama Sullivan made the right choice when she decided to allow herself to go catatonic again rather than being used as a weapon? Should Chloe try to publish her expose on the Luthors? What will Lana do now that she knows she was never pregnant? Where should Martha store the emergency Kryptonite? What was your favorite angsty scene? Should Clark have tried to steal the medicine Mama Sullivan needed? And just what’s going to happen in the war Clark talked about? Discuss!

DON'T FORGET: Ask Michael Rosenbaum anything!

"since Pete left the show, Chloe has completely dominated each of the episodes"
UNQUOTE

I'm laughing at this one. seriously. Since Pete left Chloe has been taking over and dominating episodes??...are we watching the same show?

i will concur that her character has developed in season 5 and 6...NOT since pete left in season 3. And what is wrong if her role has been expanded? she has been on the show since it's pilot...and for MANY MANY years she was in the background to everyone else. She has paid her dues, why shouldnt her character be expanded????

i guess future Superman shoudnt have anyone to talk to and bounce ideas of off. obviously we all interpret scenes differently, because he does display heroic characteristics...and if I were a hero-in-the-making, i'd rather have intelligent ppl around me. I dont see Ollie surronding himself with village idiots.

Allison Mack acknowledges in her own blogs that she is working every day and she has co-staring billing. Her role has been expanded. When DC Comic optioned the Chloe character, the producers of Smallville have the copyright to Chloe. This means that Chloe lunch boxes, pencil sets, anything with Chloe's character is subject to a payoff to the producers. If you look at what has happend since Pete left the show, Chloe has completely dominated each of the episodes. She has become Ma and Pa Kent. She saves the day and she saves Clark over and over. She has so completely dominated the series that it is really no fun to watch Clark acting like Chloe's little brother. Think...how many times Chloe have come to rescue Clark. How many times have Chloe issued orders to Clark? Chloe has become Jonathon Kent in all the episodes since Season 4. I can't stand to watch them together. Clark looks like Chloe's innocent little brother. Come on tell me you don't notice how assertive and capable Chloe has been in contrast to Clark's bumbling ways.

Really makes me mad that last weeks episode wasn't aired in my area....now i will be lost with this weeks show....guess i could read the recap, but love the show and would have liked to see it. CW should put video of past episodes on the site. who knows how many i've missed...

It was the best episode of season six.

Which, really, given how spectacularly bad season six has been of late, isn't saying much.

I disagree, Clancy. In fact, the amount of screen time for each character so far is as follows (thanks to BadToad on TWoP):

Season Totals (number of eps)

Clark - 319m, 17s (18)
Lex - 173, 10s (18)
Lana - 199m, 22s (17)
Chloe - 188m, 21s (18)
"Lois" - 94m, 4s (10)

Clearly your assertion that Chloe is the one character that's seen as much as Clark is false.

As for Clark and Chloe's relationship? It is based on mutual trust, honesty, and caring. They know each other and talk to each other about anything and everything. They depend on each other in any situation. Their relationship is a breath of fresh air compared to the angsty (and tiring, imo) Clark/Lana interactions, the dysfunctional Lex/Lana relationship, and the antagonistic Clark/"Lois" interactions. Clark and Chloe bring out the best in each other. Clark is very much Superman when he's with Chloe. And Chloe is very much the intrepid reporter when she's with Clark. They truly complement each other - like iconic Lois Lane and Superman. Now that's what this viewer wants to see.

Next to Chloe, Clark looks inept. Starting with Hidden in Season 5, Chloe's hero's journey has been the most developed. She gets the most air time, the most lines and has been the one character that is seen as much as Clark in all the episodes. I am very bored by her and by their interaction. Do the producers of Smallville get royalties for the Chloe character when she is in the DC Comics? Is that why she is featured all the time and gets more air time than Clark? Clark looks and acts dumb when he is next to Chloe and that is not what viewers want to see.

I know this is off topic but we gotta vote for Tom! He's made it to the very end against Wentworth!

Sarah...your post is too funny! :)

I liked this episode: despite the continuity confusion, and the fact that it seemed that some scenes were left out....

like others, I liked that Clark and Lex were once again head to head, and showing more of what they are destined to become! See?? Remove the soap opera drama and look at what you get!.....a Clex masterpiece....

some may call this episode a "filler"..but what I think is most important is that it served the purpose to remind us of what happened in the past, and has provided the link to events in the future....

As for mama Sullivan: she is truly a weapon. So if Lex is building an army of meteor freaks, but there is someone who can control ALL meteor freaks....then that person is pretty powerful huh?..and I would understand why Lex would want to control her. I would love to see in the future of the series this storyline come to a head. An army of Meteor Freaks created, the JLA and Clark battling them, and mama sullivan helping them out! Sweet!.....i think this 33.1 story is going to be brought to fruition by the end of this show....

And for the record: the 2 million dropped viewers have nothing to do with ships, or whether Lois is around or not, or because the epi was about Chloe. The lost viewership is because not one person in the marketing dept of the CW had the presence of mind to advertise this episode properly after such a LONG hiatus...and providing us with a director's cut TWO DAYS before an episode doesnt count. I guess all the promotion money was wasted on the tragedy that was Promise: that episode had about 4 different friggin trailers and TONS of promotion, and it did the WORST character damage to all involved.

ohhh....and Chloe IS still writing stories, thank you! I'm glad to see that. A Luthercorp expose? Lexmas anyone? BRING IT ON! WRITE THAT STORY!

Clark vs Lex: The war is about to begin folks!

That wasn't a bad episode but sorry, Lana has started to annoy me less now that she's nicer to Clark. Now it's really Lex I'd love to just see less of. I mean I'm tired of him in EVERY single episode lieing saying "I have nothing to do with this Lana". Then being in charge of everything. Hell I mean it's so old that we don't even need it reveiled anymore that he's in charge of what he says he isn't. I mean, we get it...he's a LIAR.

We already see it coming from miles away. When Dr. Fine was around they should just showed less Lex and just let Dr. Fine be the main villian. Lex is just old news to me. I mean now I just see him as a whiney spoiled brat and he's just not cool anymore. This Lana relationship just ruined Lex 100% for me. Plus since he's such an ass, I wish he'd get his ass kicked every single episode.

Smallville should be changed to Super Chloe-ville. Since Season 4, Chloe has been in charged of Clark, saving his behind, telling him what to do, generally becoming Clark's brain. This is another episode where Chloe issues the orders and Clark follows. Yep it is about right: Chloe vs. Lex, Chloe saves the day, Chloe saves Clark, Chloe lecturing Clark, Chloe knows it all. I can't get the image out of my head: Chloe holding a mega-gun, firing a huge bullet directly at Lex's baldhead...and simpleton Clark running in to save Lex. What is the deal? Do the producers have a contract with DC Comics and is that why they are building up Chloe to become Super-Chloe. Next to super-Chloe, Clark looks like a fool. Saving Lex again in Progeny and also in the next episode in Nemesis. I can live with Chloe morphing into Clark.

Regarding the pregnancy that is revealed to be a fake:
several people have made comments that Lex looked surprised in "Static" which would be inconsistent with him having staged the entire thing. I just went back and watched that scene in "Static" a few times, and I don't think that he looks shocked at all. He looks happy, he almost smirks--like a man who has just pulled off a great con. After all, he may be arranging to have her doped on synthetic hormones, but he doesn't know that she's taken a pregnancy test yet. He's gambling on how she'll react to the fake pregnancy, and her saying "I don't want to have this baby alone" tells him that he's pulled this off perfectly. As Clark says, he's manipulated her to this point. I could see him thinking "it worked!" in that scene in Static. In fact, you can see several of the comments that he makes in "Static" in a whole new light if you go back. "I know that you've had doubts about us..." yeah, and that's why I'm doping you on hormones. He asks her in the beginning of the episode if there's anything she needs to talk to him about.
Yeah, he's prompting her.

This almost makes me forgive Lana a little--all those hormones give her an excuse for being angsty. Oh, but she's been obnoxious for much longer than a few months. I adore Chloe, and I used to want to smack Clark for ignoring her and chasing loser Lana, but now I don't want anything to hurt what she has with Jimmy. What's the point of bringing in Lois if Clark is going to keep dwelling on Lana?

Linda Carter hasn't been in front of the camera for over 10 years or more? She was not comfortable in her role as Chloe's mom. The episode should have had more emotional and dramatic impact. Allison was also a little off the mark. Maybe working with Linda was not real comfortable for her too. They didn't connect as mother and daughter. I felt let down. There was such a fanfare building up to the episode and they didn't deliver.

What a fantastic episode! Wonderful acting by everyone, stars and guests alike. Exciting and touching at the same time. I adored protective Clark as well as little Chloe with her newspaper article and ink stained hands. Allison Mack was amazing in this episode.

I really would have liked to see Gabe in this episode. Remember him? Chloe's father! I miss him! It would have also been nice to see how Moira and Chloe got infected because they didn't live in Smallville at the time.

Evil Lex! Reporter!Chloe! Clark declaring war! CW, this is the Smallville I know and love!

Smallville has lost 2 millions viewers since last season. If I am the producer, I would re-read the past scripts to understand what went wrong. The series started with about 9 million viewers. During the second season, Smallville reached an apex. Season 5, before Hypnotic, had a consistent 6 million viewers. The series is now dropping to 4 million. If I am the producer and money is riding on the episodes, I would consult with the ratings and not the core group of the same people who post over and over on the Internet. Viewers are not digging where Smallville is headed. Progeny is now the lowest rated episode this season. Do I need to say more. Reality Check Time!!!!

Chlark: excellent teamwork, Mindwhammied!Chloe notwithstanding. I hope to see more of this in the remaining episodes.

Chlex: I've all but lost hope on SV writers getting these characters' storyline to come full circle, and if this is the kind of Chlex interaction they've decided viewers are gonna get, still count me in. Threats and snark with shades of Chlionel from her Torch days, both characters at their best.

Brief Clark/Lex: The amount of time Clark hesitated is irrelevant. What matters is he hesitated. And that's what bothered me. I'm still torn on this issue, jury's still out.

Martha/Kryptonite: It may be shiny and come in a pretty little box, but that chunk of alien rock shouldn't have been lying around in plain sight. I'd give Martha the excuse of being too busy and distracted, but after years of mishaps and life-and-death situations, it's expected that something that lethal would be kept out of reach. I hope she learned her lesson.

Chloe/Moira scenes: I'd like to share one sentiment I came upon at another forum - this mother-daughter storyline shouldn't have been squeezed into just one episode, but explored in at least a two-parter. It doesn't have to take the place of Plot A [which I've always hoped will center around Clark's training, but then the albatross gets in the way], but nevertheless serve as a learning experience for Clark.

Clana: The Hospital Scene is the new Barn/LoftScene? Hmm. And for once I agree with Lana [shocking, I tell 'ya]; Clark should let her get back on her feet on her own. Let her face the consequences of her actions. Although, "like I always do" basically killed the moment and had me laughing. And exactly how does she go about that? Oh yeah, with Clark's [and to some extent, Chloe's] help. She just went and contradicted herself. *sigh* Old habits die hard.

Overall, I think Progeny was a much needed breath of fresh air for Smallville. More of this, please. If not, then better ones.

=======

1. Viewers want to see Clark and Lana together.

Not necessarily, both characters and the 'ship may have their fans, but lumping all the other fans with those is not the way to go. Seriously.

And to reiterate previous comments, the reason why Progeny stats were at such a low was because affiliates had other shows/events lined up during SV's timeslot. Although the episode would then air tonight [Saturday, 7pm, IIRC], I don't think the ratings would be included in the episode's final tally. It's just not the same as on the airing night. Saddening, really.

This type of episode has been the standard for Season 6. It is really disappointing.

If you're looking for disappointing and Season6 standards, it's gotta be Promise. I mean, the magnitude of that episode's promotion has made it a highlight, if not the flagship, of this season. But, what makes it disappointing is the fact that its ratings weren't as high as expected despite all the promotion and/of the whole Clexana drama. Which only proves that not all viewers want to see Clark and Lana together, let alone the drama that comes with that pairing.

3. The writing has really been lame. Progeny was such a let-down. A middle age looking woman in implants do not make for a sexy look and this constant attempt to attribute sex appeal to Lois is turning off the rest of the viewers who are bearly tolerating what Smallville has turned into. Look at your ratings for the first half of Season 5...that is the way to go.

Listen to yourself. You've just contradicted and rebutted your some of your previous comments.

The actress that played Chloe's Mom was so wooden and the episode was so badly directed. When Chloe woke up to find her mom, that scene was handled so poorly and the ending of Chloe's Mom was so badly acted, I felt really bad for the cast and crew.

Smallville should end in Season 7 and the producers/writers should read their past scripts so that the characters can reach closure

Although I disagree with you on some aspects, I'd have to say I'm with you on this one.

Al and Miles should focus on wrapping up this show. Even if the prospect [or threat] of Season8 is looming in the horizon, they shouldn't be so lax when it comes to character development and storylines.

What a WONDERFUL and BRILLIANT episode! This the kind of episode I want to see week after week.

Its a shame it was buried by having little promotion and as the start up of the new 5-episode run.

It got stuck in the spot were Lex/MR episodes used to get stuck. And we all know how amazing those episodes were :)

Chloe and Chlark were beautiful.

chloe/moira was heart breaking! *cries*

Chlex!! LONG live CHLEX! love the antagonistic relationship these two have...i'm betting on chloe coming out on top...she's got Superman on her side!

Good ep. I liked the characterization and it moved at a good pace.

But the plotholes and bad continuity from previous eps were annoying.

Still one of the top five eps this season.

I do not object to her mother telling Chloe to do whatever she had to to get out. Yes, it would have bothered Chloe if she'd killed Lex - but I think being stuck in 33.1 for the rest of her life would bother her more. The only people Chloe should have faced trying to get out were Lex and his cronies - none of them innocent and all of them willing to subject her to horrible things.

A lot of people were thrilled to see Chloe with a gun. I didn't so much care. But I *loved* seeing her showdown with Lex at the end. She stood toe-to-toe with Lex, and is determined to take him down. I can't wait. Chloisy to my perspective.

I liked Clark saying the war was on. I'm mildly in Lana's next action (though I don't think it logical that Lex was faking his reaction to the baby news back in "Static").

Not looking forward to more Clexana. Or Clana. So old and tired and worn out.

Hoping for Chlark and Chlois in the future, even thhough I know it's not too likely this season. Hope we get our Chlark kiss this season.

Especially looking forward to more section 33.1 stuff and Clark and Chloe (and hopefully other JLers) later this season.

Progeny was all badass

Evil!Lex, Reporter!Chloe
HeroicClark!

The Chlark: badass
The Chlex: badass
Chlark vs Lex: Yeah baby! The war is about to begin.

And finally that final Chlex scene. Did I see the perfect scenerio for Chloe to take on a psyeudonym, prefably with the intitals L.L to publish her 33.1 story? Hmmmmmmmm

Larry wrote:
Viewers want to see Clark and Lana together.

Actually, the highest rated episode of the year is the Lana-free "Justice", indicating that the majority of viewers are happiest when they aren't seeing Lana AT ALL.

"Progeny" was a fun episode - lots of action and Lynda Carter was great! I wish she'd had a scene with Lionel. It's too bad the ep was pre-empted in a couple of cities and that the CW didn't promote it better. It's kinda a waste that they aired 53 commercials for "Promise" and then the ratings still didn't go up. Did that make the network decide not to bother promoting Smallville for the rest of the season? I hope not. I like seeing the trailers and directors cuts. "Combat" and "Progeny" were good episodes that deserved better promotion; "Nemesis" looks good too.

See-- it's unfortunate that people think Clark and Lana is what saves a show. What pity I have for you all.

Anyway, this has had to be one of the better episodes this season. I don't find learning that Lana that she might have lost her baby interesting at all. That could've just be more time spent on Lynda Carter. At least this episode had meaning to it.

Glaring continuity issues, and some major plotholes aside, this was a pretty good episode. I especially liked how it served the main characters, and propelled the story forward in an exciting way.

It does seem like every character on SV has been subjected to some bizarre parenting. Its getting to be a little cliched at this point, or maybe its meant to parallel all the characters. The fact that Clark, Lex and Chloe have all had their minds messed with by their parents is pretty disturbing.

What I think I liked most about Progeny was that even though it was a Chloe-centric episode, it truly solidified and highlighted Clark and Lex in their iconic roles. Clark was compassionate, strong, loyal, and the most incredible friend Chloe could want. Lex was devious, cold, ruthless, and revealed as scarily abusive towards his "beloved" wife. We even have Clark saving Lex's life in this episode, which also serves to highlight just how different these characters are.

SV is always at its best when it remembers that the show should really be about Clark Kent and Lex Luthor, not some drippy soap opera with love triangles.

And Larry, honestly, not every viewer wants to see Clark & Lana together, or has a problem with the Lois character. I think the opinions of SV viewers is probably a lot more diverse than you give it credit for.

This is one of my most 2 favorites of the season. The other one being Justice. We have a kick-ass Chloe, evil Lex, heroic Clark, awesome guest star, minimal Lana and non-existent Nois... I mean Lois Lane. What more could you ask for? Oh yeah, maybe some continuity, and minimal plot holes. But other than that, it's one of the few great episodes of the series!

"Progeny" was fantastic. This is the Smallville I want to see!

Smart, caring, sweet Clark. Reporter, truth-seeking, tough Chloe. Evil, intelligent, charismatic Lex.

Just perfect.

Lynda Carter was great as Chloe's mom. Her scenes with TW, AM, and MR were great. I hope we see her again in s7.

MR was absolutely amazing this week. Now that's Lex Luthor! He was charming, devious, threatening, and smart. That's the way I like my supervillains.

Clark was so, so superman in this eppy. He retrieved the button from Lex's car and got the video from the sanitorium. He was there for Chloe when she needed him. He thoughfully gave Moira the Chloe Sullivan bio. And his response to Chloe saying that she's in Lex's crosshairs, "Now he's in mine", made me love Clark more.

Chloe is back! For awhile there she was relegated to everyone's cheerleader. But in "Progeny", she kicked butt and got Lex nervous enough to threaten her. The Chloe/Lex scenes rock. Investigative reporter Chloe is the best!

I'm looking forward to more Chlark versus Lex!

-------

On another note, the CW should have promoted this episode more. They wasted an excellent opportunity to attract the viewers they lost after the crap that was "Promise". Hopefully they'll think to promote "Nemesis" - an episode all about Clark and Lex.

1. Viewers want to see Clark and Lana together.
----------
HUH?? Please, the fact that "Promise" was THE MOST promoted episode this season, had 4 different trailers that started right after "Freak" aired at least 2 of them which focused heavily on Clana, and got less ratings then "Freak", which only aired trailers for one week and Chloe centered, should say that the viewers are tired of the soap garbage. :|

The reason why ratings are low for "Progeny" and "Combat" are because they were both pre empted in Chicago and had little promotion. Progeny had more than Crimson but was not promoted on air till the start of the work week.

I really really enjoyed this episode.

It's official. I.HATE.LEX LUTHOR! And I am LOVIN IT! This is how Lex should be from now on! NO MORE WOOBIE LEX!!

Clark was @ his best. See he is smart and knows when to use his powers.

CHLOE WAS THA SHIT! Mindwhammied or not I loved Action!Chloe. AM OWNED IT TO THE FULLEST! And like someone else mentioned on another site. AM OWNED THAT STRUT when she was walking with the gun. I have a girl crush on AM. *blush* I think she is HOTT! And I'm straight.

They seriously need to have more Chlex scenes. Even though the romantic part of this ship has been gone for a good minute they still bring the heat. AM and MR rock their scenes together! Seriously 3 good scenes a season IS NOT ENOUGH! I'm hoping for some good Chlex/Chlark vs.Lex showdowns in the future.

LOVED THE Chlark. It was nice to know that Clark told Moira the "Chloe Sullivan Bio". I hope that scene was taped and will be included in the deleted scenes of the dvd, because I would love to know what Clark said about Chloe. I also love the fact that now Chloe is in Lex's crosshairs Clark said he is too. Shows the lengths that they will go for each other.

Lynda Carter did a fantastic job in this episode. I really hope she does come back. The last scene with Moira and Chloe was heartbreaking. I felt really bad for my girl. It really sucks.

Loved the episode. AM, MR, TW, and LC were great!

I want to tell the producers of Smallville that they have turned off a lot of their fans. A drop of 2 million viewers should tell them the following:
1. Viewers want to see Clark and Lana together.
2. The character of Lois is really off the mark. Viewers do not like Lois.
3. The writing has really been lame. Progeny was such a let-down. This type of episode has been the standard for Season 6. It is really disappointing. A middle age looking woman in implants do not make for a sexy look and this constant attempt to attribute sex appeal to Lois is turning off the rest of the viewers who are bearly tolerating what Smallville has turned into. Look at your ratings for the first half of Season 5...that is the way to go.

OKAY that was a very sad episode from the parts I actually got to see. Why was Chloe's mom catatonic in the first place? How did she get that way? why couldn't that stupid drug make her okay for a year b/c the whole 24 hour thing was stupid.

But wow Lynda Carter definitely is a really good actress! KK on the other hand was not believable. idk y but lana seemed to have really strange emotions this episode, like cudnt she have been like "wtf!" instead of "oh wow i did not know that."

ANYWAYS WHY CANT THEY POST THE EPISODES ON THE CWTV WEBSITE WHEN EVERY OTHER SHOW IS THERE EXCEPT SMALLVILLE?!?!?!?! I WANNA WATCH IT NOW THAT THEY TOOK IT OFF OF YOUTUBE, WTH I MISSED IT THIS WEEK!!!

This is what I wish every episode of Smallville would be like: heroic!Clark; Reporter!Chloe and Big Bad Lex. (Minimal Lana and no EDLois made it even better!) We saw Clark be there for Chloe; and Chloe face a difficult part of her past with regards to her mother. We saw her face Lex and why oh why have we not got more awesome Chlex scenes like this? I hope we have more coming our way with the way things are going. Lynda Carter had amazingly great chemistry with TW, MR & AM. It was engaging, interesting and proved to be a welcome relief from the ridiculous episodes earlier this season where things took a turn for the worse and seemed to be headed back to the Clana Hamster Wheel of Doom.

That was a good episode -- finally! I loved Erica Durance's PSA speech on paralysis. It's sad that Christopher and Dana Reeve are no longer here with us. They would be so proud on the show, the foundation and "Superman Returns"

I think Moira would be a big help to bring all the meteor freaks together to take down Lex. That would've been sweet right there!

Chloe should publish that article, but she ain't gonna Lex get in her way! He needs to shut up and mind his own business.

I'm hoping that Lana will confront Lionel or Lex about why she was not pregnant. Of course she duped by the Luthors, but she's gonna get even with them.

Martha should keep the Kryptonite some place else other than the closet. How did Chloe find it so quickly?

My favorite angsty scene when Chloe and Moira are at Luthorcorp.

Clark would definitely save Moira, but it wasn't meant to be.

I can't wait for the Martian Manhunter to come back -- he's gonna help Clark in the upcoming war against Lex. It will get personal

Firstly, after some of the things that have happened in past episodes....NO THE KRYPTONITE SHOULD NOT BE LOCKED UP. Just kept in a safe place where it's quickly accesable. And if they can't trust Chloe, then they can't trust anyone! And She had to be mind controlled to do it by the way.

Now as far as the episode, it was pretty fantastic, but the action at the end seemed to need just a little more. But the scenes were emotional and charged. Well, up until Chloe's incredibly silly line of Moira never getting to meet Jimmy. Served to remind me on how that part of Chloe's life is still incredibly pathetic. Now get ready for less Chlark and more of the Clana,Clois, and Chimmy my dear fellow fans. Especially the Clana & the Chimmy, so get the Vomit Buckets Ready! And handy by the couch, you're gonna need them.
