Okay, Gilmore Girls may have ended and it is TERRIBLE but in the end Luke and Lorelia get married, and Rory ends up with Jess the person she loves and should be with. They get married and both Luke and Lorelia and Rory and Jess have kids and stay in Stars Hollow. That is THE perfect ending EVER!!!!

No It should NOT END! Stars Hollow IS Full of Charm and Chemistry And Still Lots of LIFE!! Many Many Avenues Yet to Explore! For all those that had negative thoughts then your opinion respected but you can move along to other more entertaining things then. WE Dedicated FANS Need a Family Oriented Show to be Entertained with That is Intelligent and Whitty and Clever and Magical! That Shows what Town living Used to be like when People Actually CARED About Their Neighbors!!!! Life is not all about getting Coyote Ugly DRUNK or Having Gladiator Style FIGHTS that promote Violence! Resulting in More Road Rage Anger on the Highways so you can just find another reason to beat the guy up that you don't like that cuts you off. Or worse yet.. Watch the murder stats rise.. But Nobody acknowledges That Watching Drunken Bouts on TV or Extreme Violence isn't causing the shootings in Schools or the Rise in Teen Drunks? Do not end the show like this. I agree that we need a season 8 where we see Luke and Lorelai together and married and pregnant. I would love to see Luke's face when he finds out he is going to be around for the entire life of his new child. I think it will be amazing. And who knows there could new conflicts and maybe even a season 9, how will their daughters take it with a new child. Lots of possibilities don't give up now. And think of the DVD sales.

That all depends how this season ends. No on likes to see something end unresolved issues. Personally I love GG but sometimes all good things must come to an end. If GG is going to end then it should end with you feeling happy and satisfied.

I do not agree. I do care about L&L still. And this season, I'm failing to see that they can resolve everything. I do think that L&L will be romantically involved at least by the last episode. But, I'm liking the idea of an 8th season where L&L can show us how their time apart has changed them, and how this time around; it'll be better. I'm liking the idea of them getting married and her being pregnant with their child. I love the Gilmore Girls! And if they end it after this season, it'll feel unfinished to many of us out here.

Gilmore Girls is basically the only show I watch. I love it. I would be so sad if it was cancelled. Lorelai and Luke have to be together before it can ever be over. I love the show. It is the best one on tv!!!

I love Gilmore Girls and I think there needs to be at least one more season to properly end the stories. We want to know what happens. It's not right to leave all the fans hanging wondering what happens to Rory and Logan, Paris, Lane, Zack and the twins. Will Lane ever discover the joys of sex? Will Rory grow away from Logan? Will Paris ever calm down? And the ultimate question, will Luke and Lorelei find their way back to each other. That's a wedding & a baby I want to see before I say goodbye to my girls.

It can't end. Not yet. We have to watch Lorilie and Luke get back together and married. We have to see what happens with the mother-daughter relationship after Rory starts her carrier. There just seems so many ways that it can continue.

How can CW even think of ending Gilmore Girls. Since when do we cancel a show because of a weak season? If anything or anyone needs canceling, it is the terrible writers who wrote Season 7. So what if we toyed with the idea of Lorelai and Christopher getting together. That didn't mean we really wanted to see it. Do you know what fantasies are when they become reality? The show is witty, clever, and realistic. I am not a fan of serials, but every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday night I tune in to watch Gilmore Girls, One Tree Hill and Smallville, respectively. The day CW loses these shows, is the day it loses half its viewership.

With all the garbage on the networks these days, you would think CW would want to capitalize and regain its Number 1 status. If Gilmore Girls get canceled, I promise you CW will lose its Tuesday night audience. It is alredy losing its Monday night audience; and God knows it lost its Friday night audience a long time ago...

Besides, I would love to see some development with the Logan character. God knows the boy has it in him.

This season stinks!! There is nothing remotely familiar to the old seasons. This season jumps around way too much, I can't follow it as easily. There's nothing interesting going on, the lorelai + christopher thing happened (but we all knew that wouldn't last) and I really don't care anymore if Lorelai and Luke get together. End the tragedy NOW!!!

Well I absolutely loved seasons 1-5, after that it was alright but that was expected. PLZ guys, Rory DOES NOT belong to Jess, he was so terrible to her. Logan is kind of a jerk but he seems to be coming around, who knows. I think the Luke and Lorelai thing is drawn out for too long. They're cute together but I still think Lorelai and Christopher have a far better chemistry. Just my thoughts, I would hate to see them call it quits but I really don't see many more interesting story lines in the future.

This season has not been there best, but my mom nor i want gilmore girls to end. I defenately think that if this is the last season that it will feel unfinished. Do not end Gilmore Girls I will cry for weeks, ya this season may not have been the greatest and no offense to this year's script writers but without Amy it has been really different.But killing off this season and the show is really wrong. And I have all the seasons and watch them constantly. I even have some episodes memorized I have watched them so many times. And without new episodes I would very sad and would be very sad if you end Gilmore Girls. And all I can say is I like how Luke and Lorelai are slowly getting back to being friends.

if gilmore girls is cancelled, you might as well take the CW off the air. i mean, i too dont want gilmore girls to turn into the annoying 7th heaven, but if it was given another chance, im sure it would pull through and get back to the old gilmore style that all the viewers love. you have a lot of good shows on the air, gilmore girls, veronica mars, one tree hill, and there has been talk of all three of those getting cancelled. Please don't end Gilmore. I agree that this season hasn't been the best. But, killing it off this season would be wrong. There are too many unfinished stories in this show. They need to be finished. A rushed ending would only upset CW fans and wreck the shows saga.

While reading the Gilmore Gossip Newsletter, I saw that they said most of the commentors on this message board want another season. This is partially true, but not completely. I just want to add that the only reason that this message board isn't overwhelmed with people who want the show to end is because most people stopped caring. Most of my friends and I used to watch the show, but almost all of us have stopped because it was too upsetting to watch our favorite show get so bad. Just end the show now before it gets any worse. Please.

PLEASE don't cancel Gilmore Girls. My mom turned my daughter on to it and she in turn turned me on to it. We look forward to many more years of it! The only problem we have is that Lorelai and Luke need to be together already for good. You should also show full episodes of it online.

This season was WEAK, due to the loss of Amy and the mediocre writing of the new regime. That said, I'd be almost as crushed by the loss of the Gilmore Girls as I was by Buffy Summers and the Scoobies. Get Amy back ASAP and lets have another 1 or 3 years of great TV.

My daughter and I have watched Gilmore Girls since the beginning. My daughter is aboutthe same age as Rory so we have really identified withthe show. Now she is in college and we watch it together by phone. It is a wonderful show in the midst of so much junk on television. I would ask the sponsors, writers, etc to please keep it going.

You can't do a rushed ending on this show!!!! It is a great show, and deserves to play out properly!!!! Just like Charmed-when it almost ended w/ them faking their deaths- it was rushed and would have been a poor ending... instead u gave the show the proper wrap-up it deserved. Please do the same for Gilmore Girls... the story just isn't over yet... Luke and Lorelai deserve their happy ending- We need a real wedding for them and Emily needs to be a supportive part in it, and Lorelai needs to get pregnant!!!! Emily and Lorelai need closure too. Also Rori really needs to lose Logan... Bring Jess back w/ a surprise marriage proposal... His guest appearance showed he'd grown into the man he only showed Rori yrs ago... Now let everyone see it... I want Rori engaged, and not to a spoiled brat like Logan, whose family treated her like garbage. We want a happy ending for the Gilmore Girls... and one that represents the strong independent women they are!!! Please do it right for all the moms and daughters who race to the couch together week after week for quality mother daughter time... GILMORE GIRLS DESERVE A PROPER ENDING!!!!

I've been watching from the very first episode and I feel I have grown up with them. Part of growing up is letting go. I think it's time for Gilmore Girls to grow up and leave the nest...Don't get me wrong I love the show, I just don't think they've got any gas left in the tank to last for another season... I think had it not ended so messed up last season, this season should have been the final season and ended the way everyone knows it should end... What is wrong with you people? Do you want to lose all your viewers? Why would you wamt to cancel the only few programs that you have that is worth watching? As it is now, you are canceling 7th Heaven after 3 more episodes, now there is talk about canceling Gilmore Girls. You have several Hits on you hands and you had better keep them as long as you can or you will lose all your Nielson Ratings (7th Heaven, Gilmore Girls, One Tree Hill, Smallville and Supernatural). These are the only programs that keep viewers for you. Cancel these and you won't have any viewers at all and you might as well go off the air. As it is now, I am watching ION more than th CW, they are showing old reruns of The Wonder Years, MaMa' Family, and other old classics. These are better than the trash that you show since you have taken off so many other wholesome shows.
You had better decide to keep the last few good shows you have or totally close down.

So it was one dumb season the writters can turn it around in the eighth season. Luke and Lorelai need to be together!!! It needs one more season! Lauren and Alexis owe it to us fans! Gilmore Girls should continue on for an 8th season and maybe more, there is so much more it has to offer and it has helped so many single parents be able to talk with thier children.
I know that since the change over in producer/writers it has changed but things do people have thier own ways of expressing things.
Granted I didn't like alot of the things that happened in these last episodes but, I didn't stop watching. Give them a chance to get thier footing and I know they can bring the show back up to what we love or even better!!!

Look at what it can offer as a story line right now... it is open to so many things, between Luke and Lor. Rory and Logan, Lor. and the INN, Sookie and Lane and the Babies, Zak and Lane, Lor. and her Parents,Luke and April,Paris and School, Luke, Lor. and April, Lane the band and her baby, there is so much story line everywhere not even mentioning the rest of star's hollow...there is so much happening there.

Just because Rory grows up and graduates from College doesn't the show has to end, she can still get married, get preg and have a baby and need she will always need her mothers input no matter what age she is. even if she doesn't get Married, preg, she can still just come and visit her move no matter where she lives she doesn't have to live in Conn.

To end the Show now would be a very bad call of judgment on someone's part!

I have watched it from day one I watch all the repeats have all the DVD'S and I will continue to watch it as long as it Runs!!

Gilmore Girls is the only show I feel comfortable watching with my mother. It's the only show I look forward to watching with her. We can both relate to the relationship between mother and daughter. For that reason alone. I wouldn't want the show to end. There are lots of fans and I doubt it will end as soon as the 'others' want it to.

and if it is possible... bring palladinos to write the season eight... I want to know those two last lines that the palladinos talked about... that cant be too hard to arrange... LOL

I think Gilmore Girls needs to stay on for atleast one more season. It is bascially impossible for them to wrap a hole entire show up between now and May. I think that after season 8 would be a good time to end it. Personally I dont want it to ever end because I look forward to it every week but I guess I will learn to live with it

I'm watching this show back since ep 7.16. Please do not end it just now that is good back.
Rory isn't in. It would have been better with her as well, but a young actress has the right to try something else. She has also the (moral) duty in my opinion to "grant" some episodes. 3 on 11 or 5 on 22.

I look forward to Gilmore Girls every week-new episode or not. I enjoy that mother-daughter relationship among other things on the show. I personally hope it never ends BUT i know thst's impossible. I think there should be another season and inform viewers that it's the last BUT to make this season the last is to abrupt.

My family and I have watched and loved GG since the very first episode. It's been a great show, but it seems that recently, the actors' hearts aren't in it any more. The lines aren't delivered with that same spark that's confirmed when watching DVDs of earlier seasons. It's hard to care about the characters if the actors don't care about the characters. I think they should just let it go and move on.

Rosenthal wasted a whole season 7 on nothing. Lorelai and Emily's relationhip never improved. Rory doesn't seem to have the potential to be a foreign correspondent. Logan and Rory are booooring. Chris and April-two best reasons not to watch. And Luke and Lorelai are still circling the drain, the characters' growth are almost nonexistent. Was Rosenthal even trying to keep old one viewers happy. Why did he have to destroy the things that make Gilmore watchable: Lorelai and Luke banter, their CHEMISTRY, Lorelai at the diner. Friday night dinners, Lorelai and Emily's relationship. Season 7 was a waste , too bad only Rosenthal got paid.

There should be at least one more season of the gilmore girls. There are story lines that should be resolved and an opportunity should be given to this show to end on a more positive note. Ending the show after a transitional season would be a mistake.

I really love the GG. It has lost some of its magic but this season has not been too bad. I would be pretty upset if it ended now because it just seems too unfinished. One more season would tie up all the loose ends and I think I would be happy with that even though I really enjoy watching on Tuesday nights. I don't think that the dynamic of the show would be the same without Rory so I don't think I could watch it but I think we need one more season!!! DON'T CANCEL yet!!!!

I watched GG religiously until this past holiday...after the whole Lorelei and Chris is Paris, I lost interest, which surprised me because I've always wanted them together. It had been a slow downfall for me...the Zac/Lane baby storyline bored me, the continuing presence of Logan (and not Jess) drove me crazy, Luke's kid bored me. I missed the old episodes with lots of banter and pop culture references. What I think would work is a fade out ala Felicity - have 4 "post" Rory college grad episodes to wrap stuff up. Felicity is one of the few shows EVER to get the peacing out correct.

Since this show has been on for the last 7 years it has brought me and my daughter closer than anyone can imagine. We have quiet time on Tues. nights frm 8-9pm where we cry, laugh, wonder and think what more can a mom want frm a show?? This show has taught my daughter that talking to your mom isn't a bad thing and being honest helps all problems. Sure there are good times and bad but honestly taking away a show that acknowledges a single mom, a college daughter and what to expect out of life we you get older is not a reason to take it off the air. And to what will replace it another Kidnapping show?, murder mystery show or better yet how about cops I am sure I can get my teenager to bond w/ me while thats on TV.

Oh, groan. Please ignore Maureen Ryan. She gets paid to say stupid, opinionated crap that incites people to argue with her. It's link bait.

But WRT Gilmore Girls, the story needs to be resolved this season, and there should be another season. Firstly, it is very reasonable that the story should resolve satisfyingly this season. At the same time, we should have at least one season to see what happens next, to see Rory get on with her life, to see Luke and Lorelai make a life together. To see Lane and Sookie's babies.

I am sure that Maureen Ryan has heard the speculation that this might be the last season of Gilmore Girls. So it's easy for her to write such a column making her look like some sort of prophet. Her comments are way overdone. Especially about Logan. I have read several tv columns this year praising Logan's behavior and excellent relationship with Rory. He had a couple of down shows after the financial setback and pressure from his dad. NOT and I repeat NOT a full season of bad behavior to Rory. In fact it was just the opposite. Many tv commentators have gotten Logan correctly this year and there have been several articles and interviews about his good behavior. I hope there is an 8th season with a loving and committed Rory & Logan continuing their great relationship. Maureen Ryan isn't really fooling anyone calling for the show to be cancelled since she knows full well that the future depends on the "girls" signing new contracts and nothing else.
I say more Gilmore and less of Maureen Ryan.

I must say I loved the comments from galveston and judi! As far as GG, I must agree with Ryan of the Tribune. It is time to say goodbye. All good things must end.....

Please don't cancel Gilmore Girls. I think there is still a lot more of the story to tell. The last couple of episodes have been going better and I think that when the season ends this year, it won't be completed...if 7th Heaven can make 11 seasons and not have a lot of new material going, I think Gilmore Girls can last longer because there is so much left to say.

I love Gilmore Girls very much I have dedicated Tuesday nights to them for 7 years now and I would love to dedicate an 8th year to them too. I think an 8th season...and maybe more...would be good for the show. I'd love to see Lorelei and Luke work it out..they need to get together for good!!! It is just something that should happen. Since from the 1st episode there have been sparks there. It would make me happy, but if they don't work it out in a relationshipy type way they should at least be friends again. And Rory and Logan are good together and they need to get engaged....hmmm a double wedding sounds good. To sum up this should definetly not be the last season. bring on season 8!!!!!!!!!!

Logan's irritating behavior? He lost millions in a business disaster and has apologized for taking it so badly. He has been excellent all year to Rory. I'm tired of these commentators taking cheap shots at Logan. Logan and Rory are the best reason to even have an 8th season. I don't think there will be one but if there is it must include Rory & Logan! Logan sure didn't look "irritating" in any eps up to the business disaster. The comments are totally inaccurate and overblown.

My whole family loves GG, and I disagree that this season was a let down- Christopher was always important to Rory and Lorelai, and his moving to comfort Lorelai when Luke was hurting her made total sense to me. I loved the exploration of the L/C link. The girls are growing up though, and the premise of the show has been pretty well "done." I think it's time to live with the memories!

I half way agree with The Watcher. I think that Gilmore Girls has lost everything that it once stood for. Its lost its wit and fast paces dialog. Not to mention its references. I find myself bored with the episodes. I used to wait all week until the next episode, and then call for complete silence 5 minutes before it aired. I would even watch reruns with enthusiasm. I know that it is not me that has changes, but it is Gilmore Girls. I would hate to see it end in such an awful state, because I care for the characters soo deeply, but the fact it, its lost its "spunk"

I love Gilmore Girls! It's my family's show, and we watch it every day! We have up to the 6th season on DVD. Please don't take that away from me!

Please don't put an end to this show! Whenever my mom and I have had an argument and can hardly stand to be in the same room together, Lorelai and Rory are our shining stars! Their super-glue relationship makes it seem possible that maybe mother and daughter really can be best friends first, and mother and daughter second. It helps me remember all the things that are good, and embrace all of the bad. The Gilmore Girls make me smile and laugh whenever I need to the most. I would be eternally saddened if this show, or rather this LIFESTYLE; were to come to a screeching halt, without double knotting all those loose ends, but I do agree that everything must stop eventually. All I am asking from you is that you don't rush it, give it some time, at least try to shoot for a tenth season. I understand that that may be pushing it a little but it's the kind of push that's yes, a little risky, but completely called for when dealing with a show as phenomenal, and illustrious, as Gilmore Girls is!

Don't Cancel Gilmore Girls! This is the ONLY show I watch every week! I will have to cancel my cable!

There needs to be at least one more season to tie up loose ends, but that's it. I would like to see one year of Rory working in the "real world" and her future. To end it now and rush things like a new Luke & Lorelai relationshi or an engagement/marriage for Logan and Rory would be a travesty to a good show.

I agree with all of the points made in that article, except for the fact that the show should end. I see all those points as a desperate need for one more season to wrap up storylines. I know that the current show producers/writers are capable of pulling off an almost-ASP style. So she's gone, yeah the show won't ever really be the same simply because ASP was the only one who could do what she did the way she did it. But, Rosenthal and Co. are certainly capable of doing something close to it. Granted, this season has not been the best. I've not been a huge fan, but the past couple of episodes were the best of the season and the next five episodes look very very promising as well. I really would like to see a season 8 to completely wrap up the stories of characters we've been following for 7 years. We deserve another season for that. And I don't think that everyone being happy again would make the show boring. I think that could set the stage for some good comedy and semi-drama. But definitely not boring! Please please please give us dedicated fans one mroe season!!

Unfortunately I agree. After Lorelai married Christopher, I just couldn't watch anymore. Her character was ruined for me. I can't care about Lorelai anymore. Not after that boneheaded move. This season should have been Lorelai and Luke getting married and getting pregnant.

Congratulations to Amy Sherman Palladino, though. Scripting Lorelai sleeping with Chris on your way out the door is the most masterful F*CK YOU to the network that I've witnessed in quite a while. The network wouldn't guarantee you two years, so you ruined your show on your way out. Brilliant. Petty, vindictive, and bitchy, but brilliant.

I can see arguments for both sides, but personally have no problems with this season. And I don't defend shows unequivocally just because I love them; "Buffy" is my all-time favorite show, and I think that should have ended after Season Five. "Gilmore Girls," no matter what, I'm glad made it to seven seasons at least. I like watching the characters try to balance their lives while realizing that the Stars Hollow cocoon can't protect them from everything.

Also, I think that the show is worth it just for the actors alone. Lauren Graham is totally underrated as an actress -- she is phenomenal -- and Alexis Bledel has grown remarkably as an actress, and I'm really glad that we've gotten to seen the aftermath of Rory's "perfection." Seeing her struggle with school and relationships is really interesting after a few seasons of her having everything come easily to her.

So while I could see ending the show after this season, I think that "Gilmore Girls" could do really well with an eighth season. After all the drama in the past couple of seasons (Luke's daughter, Lane's marriage and pregnancy, Lorelai's finally ending it for real with Christopher, Rory and Logan the Loose Cannon), I think that if given the opportunity, "Gilmore Girls" could produce a really excellent eighth season to bookend the impeccable first season -- character-driven, and focused on the interpersonal relationships among the core characters.

I love GG, but I kind of think this is a natural time for it to end -- Rory is graduating college, striking of on her own... it just doesn't feel authentic to me that she would "just happen" to get a job in Connecticut, or be close enough that she could pop in at any time. That was the whole basis of the show -- the mother-daughter relationship -- and this is a logical place to end it.

I agree with Sonia. Give me a 1/2 of a season at least to fix up what Amy Sherman-Palladino messed up last year!!! These last few episodes have been really good.

Once again - a critic feels they know more than the fans. We need/want an eighth season. Both girls have plenty of story left to tell and the last few episodes have been a great improvement.
