Smallville: 'Prototype' Tonight!

Smallville

Tonight's episode of Smallville is a must-see. Why? Let us count the ways:

1.) The deliciously evil Lex Luthor lets his superfreak soldier loose. Who's the target? An allegedly crooked senator. But not just him. Also some journalist chick named Lois Lane - you know her? - will be in danger... which leads us to nĂºmero dos...

2.) Will Lois survive the soldier's brutal attack? Rumor has it...

3.) ... that Chloe may be able to help her. But not without some very dire consequences.

4.) Meanwhile, Clark will try to reason with former love Lana Lang. Can Clark convince her to leave Lex for good? (Okay, if you're yawning at this point, we understand. As teen pop sensation and budding actress JoJo once sang, it's just too little, too late.)

5.) In other 'shipper news, Martha and Lionel are still spending time together. When's Clark going to do something about that?

6.) Battlestar Gallactica Galactica fans can rejoice. Tahmoh Penikett guest stars as Lex's not-so-little experiment gone wrong.

Check out pics from tonight's episode at 8/7c. It looks like it will be intense and outta control. What a way to get ready for next week's season finale!

if lana
dies.i wont watch it know more. i been watching it since day one bought all cd.s

if lana i wont watch it know more.

HOLY FRIGGIN GOD. I'VE BEEN SAYING THAT LANA DOESN'T FRIGGIN DESERVE CLARK SINCE THE THE FRIGGIN 3RD SEASON >.< it's getting on my nerves how they'll go make out with other people and come back and be like "OHHH I MEANT OT TELLLL YOU .... " NKOBNSJKFNKLABNK

Why is clark always wearing a blue shirt and red jacket all of the time?

clark is so stupid like totally!!!!!!!!!

i really want clark and lana back together, i dont like lois at all she's to fake to me

i love the show, it is so intersting the whole cast etc, and i love the fact that ther is the father who was in the original duke's of hazard, yeeeee huaaaaaaaaaa !!!!!! any i love you guy's its been real.

peace out.
SG!

you need to get over lana you keep geting hrat ok

HEY CHLARK FANS!

Why do you continue to faithfully watch Smallville? The creators led you people around by the nose for years. Why do a lot of you still follow the Pied Piper over the cliff? Screw the show. If you want better, watch the First Season of Veronica Mars! I mean WOW! Talk about fantastic writting! And Kristin Bell is so Chloe Sullivan like. And yet, still so different. I tell you, this is really working for me. And lastly, just SKIP the stupid Smallville Season Finale. They are just going to lead you on again (Or don't any of you remember the Chlark Kiss from last season?).

to CHLOE KENT:

i dont hate Lois at all, so I cant agree with that...

but a BIG FAT WORD! to everything else you said.

but you have to remember...it's perfect logic really: Chloe isnt mythos...so she can be dumped on.

Chloe isnt mythos: so all her work etc can be pushed aside and be for naught...they dont have to answer to DC comics for that

Chloe isn't mythos: so her character can be retconned after 5+ years of one thing, into something completely different.

that is the Smallville way.

(insert sarcasm)

If you want to understand the frustration of Chloe fans read this.

''That's SV's "Lois Lane" - hated journalism, never graduated high school, got kicked out of MetU for drinking, mooched off the Kents, got handed jobs she was unqualified for, and got inspired by a barn door. What a sad joke!

Eh, whatever! We've had 6+ years of Chloe and Clark investigating the meteor mutants, strange goings on in Smallville, Lex, Lionel, Level 3, Level 33.1, Zoners, and saving the world. We've had 6+ years of seeing Chloe struggle towards her goal of becoming the best investigative reporter at the Daily Planet. Being there for Clark when he needed a shoulder to lean on. But, sadly, it's all for nought because of eight letters L-O-I-S-L-A-N-E. What amazing storytelling, Al, Miles.''
(By Clarkfan).
You create a fantastic character, you give to her a role model for all ours girls during 130 episodes and in 13 episodes you change your mind. It's not necessary to work hard, to go to school, Be there for Clark when he needed a shoulder to lean on. Do like Lois, it's magic. My daughter (15) don't understand. She said to me it's stupid. Give me some explications. I begin to hate the character of Lois. And to be sure that Chloe fans stop to watch Smallville, in the final Chloe give her life for saving Lois. Dears viewers forgive Chloe, Lois take her place. The real Smallville is finish. Somes millions viewers wanted romantic Chlark and you give Clana,Clois and Jimmy. The result you lost 1 millions viewers. Dears producers, forgive us.

i cant wait for the season finale but i do agree w/everyone who thinks lois looks way too old for clark. as for clana, i luv it. i want them to get together so bad that its killing me. bt i seriously think that lex needs to be extra evil for season 7 in order to make up for his lack-of-evil in season 6. oh yea and will zod be coming back from krypton or is he gone for good?

for most of you ppl in denial, the writers and producers said that smallville doesnt exactly follow the superman story. i mean if u thnk about it there are already things that dont fit
1. like johnathans death-thats not in the comics
2. i remember reading one comic and lana was in it.....working for the daily planet---they cant kill her off cuz that will mess up the flow
3. and its never mentioned that lois and chloe are cousins--that makes everything wacky and it pisses me off

i still luv smallville, bt if they kill lana and clark gets together with lois, nobodys ever gunna watch the show

cant wait for the finale.....i hope lana duznt die (clark needs a serious dose of red kryptonite rite about now)-then maybe he'll worry about himself for a little while

after all this love nonsense, i think lionel is my fav character rite now cuz hes still evil and has bad intentions-sometimes at least

The thing that saved this episode was Lois. It was great to see some backstory about her, and see her going after the story.
It's also good to see that 33,1 hasn't been forgotten, and that Lex had a reason to collect all those meteor mutants.
Tahmoh was excellent, too bad he was only in this one episode.
But seriously - Clana? Still? I'm not even yawning, I'm so bored I'm about to fall into coma. I guess those 1,3 million viewers who stopped watching since the darn ship was resurrected in "Promise" for the millionth time must have already died of boredom.

More reporter Lois please. More evil science genius Lex!
And please - more Clark. Remember him? The guy who is supposed to turn into Superman one day? Get him to stop wracking other people's marriages, and start his training. With Lex up to no good, he might need it. And get him some screen time!

It was a solid farewell episode for DeKnight.
We're gonna miss you Steve.

Overall I have been extremely disappointed with Season 6 as a whole. There seems to be very little character development on the part of Clark, whose role seems to have been reduced to moping about Lana and occasionally rescuing people

Lex, too, has been severely dampened by the whole Lana plot, fake baby etc. It's nice to see he's finally starting to come into his own and become a proper supervillain

Overall this Season seems to have been far to focussed on Lana who really should only be a background character these days. She's holding everyone back from becoming who they should be

This episode was so grim: no humour, no lightness. And Clark killed a man and almost kissed a married woman: not very Supermanly.

I wish I was excited for the finale but I'm not.

I have great issues with Clark Kent, who's supposed to be a man of morals constantly pursuing a woman who's still married (regardless if the marriage is crap). Please, stop this Clark and Lana drama asap. It's destroying Clark's character and the iconic character he's supposed to become in the future.

Why you destroy Chloe character for Lois. Why you said 2 weeks ago that your favorite character was Chloe Mr Gough.
'The creators of the show also have their own favorites on the show. For instance, Miles Millard particularly enjoys Lionel Luthor. "An excellent villain and a wonderful actor. He's intriguing. You never know what he's thinking." As for Alfred Gough, his favorite is Chloe Sullivan, "because, thanks to the series, she is now a part of the Superman mythology. And to top it off, she has undeniable comedic timing."
Why you do this to Chloe fans. If you don't know,Chloe is the favorite character of Smallville. See Kriptonsite pool.
I am very desapointed.

Carl: "Smallville has changed so much and not for the better"

Hence the 25%-30% decline in viewership from the start of this season. The ratings for this episode just came out. 3.36 mil. SV is sinking..fast (along with the CW). A couple months ago another season was in the bag. Now...?

I'll bet everyone $100 that tptb cannot write 2 good reporters on this show. they shot themselves in the foot with it, and now they are trying to clean up their mess.

I bet, come season 7, Chloe is going to be too distracted with her new, retconned meteor freak status to follow the stories she;s been working on for years...she'll just do research for everyone else, support everyone else in their career endeavours, push everyone else to ther "destiny"..and then, become enlightened and join the Red Cross, saving lives in another continent.

Happy that Lois' story is moving forward, but disappointed that it will most likely be at the expense of Chloe's career in journalism because tptb dont know how to write.

wonder-freakin-ful

i totally agree with sam- Lois looks so much older and it throws everything off. Exactly why her and Clark have NO chemistry! It makes if really hard to ever picture them together when she looks like she could practically be his mother. If they got together and Clana was history, I would never watch Smallville again.

Smallville has changed so much and not for the better. The earlier Smallville episodes like Zero, Nicodemus and Shimmer were so good, re-watching them were fun. Tonight's episode is like all the episodes in Season 6. It is forced with no real rational continuity. Lois stole the evidence (Noir) so the police couldn't solve an attempted murder , told Lionel that Lana is playing Lionel and Lex, setting Lana to be killed? Lois found out the senator had a 5 million slush account from Lex. How did that happen? Of all the people in the world, Wes, the terminator, was Lois's first love? How did that happen? huh? Clark as always plays a support person in the story. Isn't it about time Clark be given a full episode? Clark looks like he needs therapy. Chloe and Lois dominate him and "Chloe- knows-best-saving the day" theme needs to stop. I vote for the rise of Clark and soon!!! It is laughable that Lionel is a good guy after he screwed up Lex so badly that Lex is a sick, wounded, power-hungry, inept psychopath. Should I say more? Don't drag this series out anymore. Clark should tell Lana what happened in Reckoning. The viewers are feeling sorry for Clark and extremely sad for Lana's victimization. ENOUGH is ENOUGH.

Well, Prototype was a bad as I thought it would be.

Lex was the only thing I really enjoyed in this episode.

Knowing that Lois was going to be lightswitched yet again before hand didn't make it any better. All of a sudden after chasing fake animal stories she wants to get revenge on Lex. PFFT Whatever. I'm really starting to see that the PTB CANNOT write 2 reporters on the same show. They are starting to push Chloe to the side to make room for Lois. I always feared it would be that way and now I'm seeing it happen. Chloe will always be the true reporter in my eyes and I'm not going to stick around seeing her dream be squashed because the bullshit that is the Goughlar have wasted 2 years on Lois doing nothing and then all of a sudden, after they have spent 6 years drilling into our heads that Chloe's the reporter and her dream is to work @ the Daily Planet, the Barn Door of Opportunity almost fell on Lois' ass and made her become a serious reporter. What the fuck ever.

Clark almost kissing Lana was horrible. SDK, that was not cool Clana buddy.

The trailer for Phantom did nothing for me. This is the first time that I'm actually dreading a season finale.

I hope that 7 is the last because season 6 is making me miss season 4. A LOT!

Prototype was good actually. And just to clarify..i think the part you mentioned about Chloe helping Lois survive the 'attack' is for Phantom, not Prototype.

so, speaking of this episode, yes, i did like it...but i have one major concern..i'll get to that later...

Likes:
-Lex getting more evil etc
-Lois doing her stuff
-RETURN OF THE CHLO-LO LOVE!!
Clark doing his thing...and his new upgraded heat vision..

Dislikes:
-Lana and her trying to be 007 James Bond type..please. spare me.
-Clark is being very snippy with Chloe these days..interesting Clark, and very hypocritical that yu ask her to keep your secrets but getting on her case for not telling you other secrets....and throwing her mom back in her face? nice one. Exactly the thing a best friend does. I guess familiarity does breed complacency.

major dislike: ok. first, let me say i'm happy that Lois is doing her stuff, and chasing the story etc....but you know what?..Chloe has been on 33.1 for SIX FREAKIN YEARS and where is the drive to bring Lex down?...so now, after the Luthors tried to blow up her and her dad, mistreated her mom, kidnapped her etc, she's just backing off and Lois is gonna be the one to bring Lex down?

Thanks for the slap in the face for Chloe and all her fans who invested in seeing her actually achieve something and work towards it for 6 years. Thanks. Thanks alot.

I'm just waiting for next season when she decides that (1) she is too scared to go after the Luthors anymore, (2)she decides that journalism is no longer her thing. Hey! maybe she could become a stay-home girlfriend for Jimmy, and make his babies, and bake him pies. Excellent!

I used to give tptb the benefit of the doubt that they could write 2 reporters, both being successful, and neither having to give up anything for the other to progress..now i am not so sure because it is so easy for them to shove Chloe to the side, and just have her reduced to a reactive role, who just helps Lois and Clark with research.

I expected it...but i am still disappointed. i should have known anyway...drag Chloe through the mud is what tptb do.

Thanks. thanks again.
on a final note: if you are going to completely retcon Season5!Reporter!Chloe into MeteorFreak!Pod!Chloe..whose main goal is to no longer bring the Luthor's down..then please, please just kill her off, slap all her fans in the face *again*, and let us find a new show.

I missed protoype, how can I see it? Is it on line like other shows these days or when will wb 11 in NY show it again?
Thanks

Lois looks so much older than everyone on the show. Smallville is about the teenage-young adult years of Superman. When Lois looks over 30, it is hard to get into the illusion of Superman in his early years. I don't get the point of this episode. It should have connected the dots. I thought that Lex created a clone of Clark. I thought Lana's pregnancy was Lex cloning Clark's DNA with Lana's egg. I thought we would see Emily from Season 2 where the 33.1 experiment started with the cloning of Emily. That would have been a better script and would have created more possibilities for all the characters. I am not feeling Season 6.

I haven't watched tonight's episode yet (thank goodness for Tivo!!!) but I have to speak up and say that I am still all for Clana!!! It just doesn't seem to me like Clark and Lois have the same chemistry and love that Clark and Lana have.

I get the distinct impression that the people writing the CW Source do not watch the episodes and have no history of being familiar with Smallville. The editorializing is irritating and unnecessary. Tonight's episode should have answered more questions. Season 6 feels very choppy and unlike previous seasons, this season has been a conglomerate of events instead of dramatic plotting. Season 2 was the best and had the best character development, narrative, and final outcome. Let's hope next season will bring back the writing style of Season 1, 2, 3, 4 and first half of 5. Clark and Lana should be together for one season and Clark should leave for his training. Smallville has evolved into something that betrayed the contract between viewers and the show's premise.

ok clark should be out there saving lois, not begging lana to leave lex, she is boringggggggggg and she sucks sooo please clark can you just make a little effort for lois.. she is right for you not boring drama queen lana! please cw do something

It's not so cool of being rude. I think this is the best TV Show , and we all know how hard they all worked for it. I just can not wait to see it next week. I hope they will back to gether... . I wish this wasn't the last Season. Love You All

For the love of God, PLEASE stop this Clana nonsense. I'm sick and tired of seeing Clark mooning over Lana. My god, it's time to move on! Please!

SMALLVILLE IS THE BEST SHOW EVER CREATED!!! im soo excited about the season finale and prototype was a great prelude to it! yay for CLANA! props to ya CW for finalllyy giving us what we've all been waiting for

This SuperMan IS A P**** And The Show Is All Commercials

You spelled "Galactica" wrong! Heresy!

This episode was pretty "meh." This season has wasted too much time on Lex being rendered boring by Lana; we should have been seeing him do cool lab stuff all along. This episode felt rushed.
