The CW Upfronts: Monday Schedule

Everybody Hates Chris will return on Mondays at 8/7c. Dawn said Chris Rock will actually appear on the show as the school guidance counselor for the first time ever on the season 3 premiere! Cool.

Preview of Aliens, the new comedy replacing All of Us at 8:30/7:30c on Mondays... about a kid growing up in Wisconsin who's an alien that's trying to pass as a regular high school student. Dawn says this'll pair will with Everybody Hates Chris b/c they're both fish out of water comedies...

Um, except this show is BLATANTLY offensive. The mom decides to import a friend for her alien son, and they get all excited b/c they think it's this Aryan Nordic type running off the plane... but no. It's Rajah, a Pakistani Muslim with a "funny" accent. Cue the stereotypical music. Apparently his accent and differences are going to be played for comedy.

The stars are out talking now, and again, everyone's cracking up at the kid's accent. Unbelievable. We're embarrassed for them.

Girlfriends and The Game return to their usual slots; nothing much said about them. And now, on to Tuesdays.

CW was the only channel worth watching on monday night, girlfriends without toni was bad enough now you dropped all of us. Why watch at all.

I watched some Aliens in America preview clips on CW's website. It's horrid. The family isn't just anti-Muslim, they're flat-out racist. One of the "funny" scenes was of the mother glaring (seriously, half the scene was just her reaction) at her daughter and her black boyfriend. Yeah. I'm sure that'll fit well in the middle of their African-American comedy night.

I think that this line up is ridiculous. Monday night was the only night that the viewers could see African American comedies. This new show does not sound like it would appeal to the people who watch the other 3 shows that air on Monday nights so either the ratings will drop for Monday nights period or that show is just going to sink. I think that better judgment should be made when deciding when to air certain shows.

First of all Pakistan is not the Middle East it is South Asia or the Asian subcontinent.

Secondly Rajah is a Hindu name not a Muslim one.
I can hardly wait to see what else this show will do with their portrayal of ethnic minorities.

Stellar research job writers!

why did Sam hav to die?
i fear next season he will come back as a demon and they will have dean and sam up against each other
that will breakk my heart and i won't watch anymore
can anyone tell me how to get in touch w/the network so i can tell them not to do that?
my whole family loves this show and having sam and dean battle each other will make us choose another show. we stopped watching the O.C. which competed on Fox 5. i'd appreciate some guidance

The beauty of Monday nights was that it was sort of an Afro-American comedy lineup. I guess thats down the crapper now... btw, didnt they already do a show like this Alien in American crap called "3rd Rock from the Sun", except that it was funny and this just sounds awful...

Okay, I think I gotta disagree with you on Aliens in America. I watched the clips at cwtv.com and it looks like we're supposed to laugh at the prejudiced white family rather than with them. At least, this appears to be what the director intended...

I could see myself enjoying the show (nothing like laughing at white Americans), but if the CW can't get that across in its previews and through cast interviews, it'll spell trouble for it.

"Aliens" sounds freakin' horrible, worse than ABC's Geico Cavemen show.

"Apparently his accent... going to be played for comedy"

Or you can watch repeats of That 70's Show for a funny foreign kid...Fez...LOL

Callie: we can only pray Dawn's boss(es) have more common sense than she. With the 07-08 development slate, I'm surprised she still has a job.

White people don't know the difference between accents. Foreigners and Blacks talk funny, that's all they need to know.

//The stars are out talking now, and again, everyone's cracking up at the Middle Eastern kid's accent.//

What's a little cultural insensitivity among friends? ::rolls eyes:: I won't be watching this "laugh fest". I'd rather suffer through LisaRaye's "acting" than this.

It's sounds like a CW verision of ABC family's KyleXY but KyleXY actually shows family vaules.

So, um, WHEN exactly is Dawn Ostroff being replaced as director of programming? o_O

Dawn says this'll pair will with Everybody Hates Chris b/c they're both fish out of water comedies...

Spoken like a truly clueless TV executive. GOD, I'm so sick of these people.

EHS is doomed.
