Hey OTH fans, I too have been eagerly awaiting the season 5 premiere to start. I love this show and if any of you ever watched Beverly Hills 90210 you will recall that they went through high school, graduated, then went through college, graduated, then continued into their adult lifes and the show lasted for a long time. I believe that OTH is a better show than BH 90210 ever was and I believe that it would do great in the ratings if they showed the whole college experience. The way they are talking about doing it will lose ratings because not everyone has computer (hard to believe in this day and age):) so how will those fans keep up? Then on the Soap network they keep stopping and starting from the very beginning instead of going all they way to where they left off at the end of season 4, this week they came all the way to the prom and then the guide says that they are going to start at episode 1 again, that totally sucks! Ok OTH is the best show ever!! It's the only one I've actually been hooked on! My friends and I would get together every Wed. just to watch it. I'm anxiously awaiting the season 4 boxset and even more so the season 5 air date. Midseason??!?!?! What the heck?! That's the most absurd idea I've ever heard and the worst decision possible by CW. You guys are right I miss WB. OTH shouldn't have 22 episodes it should air all year round! So of course 13 is crap! BRING OTH BACK!!!

I am soo happy to hear that OTH is returning, however, I think the network is doing a huge dis-service to the fans of the show by even considering cancelling it! It is the most well written show I have seen since Everwood! I hate that all the fantastic shows are getting booted, and all the crap and reality junk remains! I think the network should listen to the people and realize that the fans are too loyal to take away a show like OTH!!!!!!!!!!!

I heard they won't be doing the online diaries because it would wreck the whole point of the show doing flashbacks. The CW only said that because there was a misunderstanding on what type of show they would be doing.

The CW has done One Tree Hill fans wrong! First they push the show's spring hiatus further than planned to make room for the sucky Pussy Cat Dolls. Then they leave us biting our nails to see if OTH gets picked up for another season. Next, we find out that it isn't coming back 'til mid January and instead of the full season they promised, they're only giving us 13 episodes with the chance of more which means little hope for a sixth season. And finally, they promise us online diaries to help us bide the time and we get screwed once again! They're not even showing re-runs right now and the boxset doesn't come out until December. Seriously Dawn Ostroff, what the hell?! One Tree Hill is a staple for the CW and is one of the last original shows from the popular WB. It has a huge following and you're treating the show and it's faithful viewers like crap! I miss the WB.

i thought there were going to be 22 episodes? I think I remember seeing a clip or reading somewhere that they'll have all 22 episodes but since it starts midseason there won't be any of those long breaks of nothing happening for a month like last season.

Okay why do they always do this??? ONE TREE HILL IS A GREAT SHOW!!!! OTH should NOT be midseason, it is the best series ive seen on tv in years. Not to mention the show is exteremly popular, what were they thinking!! All i know is that the CW better realize OTH should not be midseason or worse (not even gonna mention the rumor). It deserves to have 22 episodes aired not 13!! I think skipping college was a great idea, as long as we still get to know what happened during those four years via flashbacks at least.. But not giving OTH a full season is ridiculous this show pretty much made this network as big as it is today, along with other shows that were already taken off! CW you are completely making a huge mistake by not giving OTH the spot they deserve on your line up!!!!!!!!

First of all, they've been building the Lucas n Peyton thing since the beginning of the series so complaining about them you might as well not be watching. second of all, what is with this mid-season rubbish, CW? bring it back in september or october NOT JANUARY! its really pathetic to say "it's coming back mid-season" like we're supposed to be relieved or something.

starting in Jan is not a big deal its still a 22 episide line up but instead of having reruns in between it will be all new episodes every week.ad beginning in sept. there will be online diaires to catch us up on the 4 years they are skipping and when the episodes start they will have flashbacks to help catch us up.

VW does ruin everything. This midseason is CRAAAPPPP!!! OTH one of the top shows CW has!!! Look it even out lasted the apaprently huge fanbased O.C. seriously people... it needs to be a full line up and CW needs to make this show a priority and stop putting it on the back burner for other shows... like search of the pussy cat dolls? that was on every station, CW really didn't need to put it right in the OTH slot. Brutal. Hopefully this break will give the writers something good to come up with being as the end of this season was a massive disappointment! I think ppl will watch it I'm not struck on the idea of the four years later thing and watching all the video diaries to see what happened. Look @ Gilmore Girls that survived college years so can one tree hill because its the kind of show that people will watch no matter what.

i love one tree hill and i cant wait for the season finale but, what does "mid season" mean? i am clueless. I think that 4 to 5 years ahead is a good thing but i just hope they dont kill it like the cw has about everything else. Their new fall line up is so stupid like the show where the kids parents sold his soul to the devil! how are they going to get any one to watch that? The show that is before one tree hill "hidden palms" i only watch it becuase one tree hill is after and i dont want to miss anything so i watch it but does any one really really really like it? it might be okay if yuo are into that stuff but thats just me. many shows have died once they got to their college years (well, except for boy meets world but then again i think that's the only show that survived through that for various reasons. plus, it wasn't a drama)

but really you guys, this is something no show has ever done. it's really original and im sure it will be well written and welll performed by the actors.

i agree COMPLETELY with Dawn especially about the "Africa" thing. but anyway, i love OTH and them fast forwarding 4 years ahead is going to KILL OTH. because it'll be like, "Ohh OK? Naley's kid & Karen's kid is 4? what happened to the birth etc etc?" i am already going to start preping myself for the bad news next year about it getting cancelled. i will watch it but i can only pray that the CW isn't sabotaging the show. personally it sounds like a nasty divorce that happened between The WB & CW with all the cancelations of the old shows that were still going strong.

Well I am SO happy OTH is coming back and to all the people who are complaining about waiting til January it will be you that I Will blame if it does get cancelled. Just zip it ok?!

Let me just start out by saying that I couldn't be more excited about OTH coming back for a fifth season; I was so excited that I checked the updates during lunch at school because I couldn't wait until I got home. I have a lot to say about everything the CW is doing but I'm keeping to OTH because that was the show that watched that is still here from the WB. This is the stupidest thing in the world! Okay, fine, part of the reason why OTH had a lot more viewers this year was because it was right after Top Model, but still, people got hooked on the show and are still watching it, proving that it's one of the better shows on the network. The CW is destroying their own network by cancelling all the good shows and bringing in all this new reality stuff onto the network and shows in Africa. It's one of the stupidest things they've ever done! I mean look at Runaway, it was a good show and then they just cancelled it. OTH is a show that deals with real life issues that people go through all the time and it has many valid points. The only show that has any hope is Gossip Girl because Kristin Bell is the narator and Veronica Mars is getting cancelled. Anyway, fingers crossed that one of their new shows gets dropped and OTH comes back sooner. They're loosing a lot of viewers by doing this. Bottom line, a bad move on the CW's part.

I think that Dawn is the biggest idiot on the face of the earth. Is it just me or do any of you have the feeling that all of the new shows are going to be canceled just like I knew that Runaway was gonna be canceled.(Idiot again for canceling Everwood but I'm not gonna get into that). So basically she just really needs to put One Tree Hill on the fall schedule and put the network out of it's misery.

I'm thrilled OTH is coming back. I just hope it won't get cut afterwards. It REALLY is a great show, and if it gets taken off to put on more REALITY shows, then that's stupid. We don't need anymore reality shows. Besides, it's probably one of THE MOST popular shows on the CW. It'd be idiotic to cancel it. I really hope it stays around for a long ass time, otherwise you'll lose SO many damn viewers.

I love the way Dawn Ostroff tries to mess with OTH fans in any way possible because she's so bitter her precious stupid Veronica Mars has been cancelled (with pretty good reason, smartest decision the CW has taken is a long time).

It's no secret she lets her personal opinion affects the way she treats shows, and she's never liked us.

Personally, I am just happy as hell that there will be a One Tree Hill Season 5! the midseason thing sucks though, but I'll take One Tree Hill anyway I can get it.

But there really wont be that many good shows on til it comes back now that Gilmore Girls left. I'm sick of these reality shows, and all of these new shows the CW is creating to try to be more modern. People like stability! So yeah I'm probably not gonna watch the CW until One Tree Hill returns.

So this is how you screw with us again, huh? Well, I guess I shouldn't be surprised, it's not a first. Those news really leave me speechless. Actually no, I have some speech for you.

1. I find it highly unfair how this channel is treating one of the best shows it has. OTH brings you great ratings, more publicity and sponsoring than any other show, not mentionning the fact that it's the best quality show you have going on right now. This show deserves a lot more respect than that, and you know it.

2. I don't appreciate how OTH fans are being treated. You guys know we're behind our show no matter and you use that to do whatever you want with it, giving us unbearable hiatus, changing the time slot every so often, not giving us any REAL promotional show pictures, not giving the show any proper promotion, creating horrible fake episode trailers... You know that no matter OTH has the strongest fanbase and you obviously are planning on using us and the show to boost up ratings after Christmas, when all ratings are usually downer than in fall.

3. And now bringing the show back in January only? I heard about the supposedly "online digital diaries" but I'm sorry this won't do it. First because I doubt you will keep that promise and give us regular "diaries" up until the show is back in January, and then because this is screwing with fans who can't access the internet. This midseason thing is risky, and you know it, and you would need to really promote the show to hold casual viewers who will have probably forgot about the new air date, which I definitly doubt you will do, considering the promotion you've given our show so far. Giving us a fake promise of new material (so we won't be too mad in the meantime) is useless if you're not going to keep your promise.

I am happy about the show being back, don't get me wrong, I'm delighted (although I really don't see how you could have done otherwise considering what the show brings to you and the fact that this is the smartest show on tv right now), but this is definitly not the way to treat the show, or the fans, or even the cast and crew. Stop trying to feed us up with stupid Pussycat Dolls crap and focus on the quality shows already!

This is absolutely redic. do you know how many viewers you will lose by just starting one tree hill midseason and doing video diaries? this is a bunch of shit and i really wish that WB11 was back, cause this sucks.

OTH should not be moved to Sundays. Look what happened to 7th Heaven. Although the writing for that show had run its course, it was never the same since its weekend debut. As far as placing it as a mid-season return, that too is another mistake.

OTH is a high-quality show filled with outstanding writers and producers, great characters (amazing actors), an intriguing storyline, unique format and the prefect blend of twists and turns to keep the viewers grasping for more.

Not all viewers are high school students. So, please give this show the credit it deserves, not only for its fanbase but for television in general. Mediocre shows come and go. But it's superb shows like OTH that will leave lasting impressions for years to come.

On this blog, TVGuide and Pifeedback, numerous folks have the same thing for months: fire Dawn Ostroff.

This network and it's higher ups sure have a funny way of showing One Tree Hill "love." I'm going to be completely honest if OTH isn't on until Jan. 2008, I won't be watching ANYTHING on the CW network until Jan. 2008... and I'd like to think I'm not the only viewer who will make that promise. I'm anxious to see the four year skip, but I think the online video diaries are playing w/ fire... (1st of all many fans/viewers may not come online -- what happens to them?) Second, online fans tend to be the most vocal and dare I say passionate. So, unless these vids. are handled w/ kid gloves and don't piss off any of the major fansbases (esp. of specific couples -- ahem NH! -- or the 5 main characters) things could get ugly and people could tune out before it begins... But then again I don't think this network would see that as such a bad thing (cause the CW's actions speak louder than your words) -- and I think that's just ridiculous!

Yeah, Dawn you GAVE us a season five, now do us a favor and put us on the lineup. OTH Fans, will fight back, and we will fight hard. We want OTH to be a full season!!! I came from The WB and since you came from the UPN you are being a little bias, but that's understandable because so am I. I started watching ANTM from UPN, but that doesn't mean that I want to lose OTH!

I love the idea of skipping college. Shows always lose what makes them special when the kids go to college. Not real sure about the online video diary thing. You are risking a lot if you say something that fans don't like before the season even starts, you would have been better off letting them put the flashbacks in the actual episodes.
