Hidden Palms: The Mystery Evolves
The mystery evolves! From-the-grave Eddie claims that he didn’t kill himself – he was murdered. And the mysterious Nova08 is revealed to be sweet, innocent little Liza. That was unexpected. In the meantime, we had drunken parties, heartbreak, betrayal, scheming, tears, a nice bit of violence… good times.
Is it bad that we find the tempestuous main couple less interesting than their various nemeses? Johnny and Greta are just so earnest and angsty – they don’t seem to realize they’re living in some candy-colored artificial environment. Everyone else – Cliff, Nikki and Liza, Tess and Travis the boytoy, even Karen and Bob, seem to be living with so much more relish. They’re often reprehensible and thoroughly irresponsible, but they’re loads of fun to watch. Who are your favorite characters?
And we have to confess – we kind of adore Cliff. Not that we’d want to actually be in the same room with him, but it’s great to watch him chomp the scenery as a smiling psycho. He just oozes a sort of smarmy peril. Who knew that someone grinning and saying “We’re going to be good friends” could be so menacing?
We loved Nikki this episode – when she wasn’t being a drunken idiot. She’s just so smart, so good at reading people, and so funny – especially when she’s trying to mask her pain. Take notes, Greta: That’s how you do damaged. Plus, we loved her assessment of Cliff: “He’s a crafty one – dark, dangerous … kind of hot, actually.” We couldn’t agree more.
So what did you think of the drunken party escapades? While we know Nikki has to take responsibility for her own actions, we kind of blame Johnny – he knew that Nikki was in a bad place, that she’d been tumbling off the wagon with alacrity, but he left her to go mooning after Greta. Sure, he couldn’t have known that a massive party would spring up in his absence, but he still shouldn’t have left her alone.
And did anyone else cheer at pretty much everything Bob said? We loved him reassuring Karen and telling Johnny to “tell your mother what she needs to hear.” We loved it even more when he gave Johnny the dressing-down he richly deserved. It almost – almost – made us want to overlook the little matter of Bob buying the house even after he knew Johnny would be staying in a dead guy’s room.
Finally, there were the smackdowns, both verbal and physical. Besides the aforementioned Bob/Johnny talk, we got to see Cliff humiliating Travis in front of his prospective girlfriend, and then Travis fighting back. Plus, we got to see Cliff smacked around quite a bit: First Greta slapped him (and is it just us, or did Cliff look kind of like he enjoyed that?), then Johnny punched him. (We have to admit, the “Relax, have a drink” line would have made us take a swing at the smarmy little twerp too.) We were almost disappointed when Bob arrived before Cliff could completely lose it – we just think he’s got to be dangerous when he lets loose.

my sister and i love love love hidden palms and think that it is the show of the future!! everybody in the show is freakin hottttttt.......this is the best show ever and it should definately come back for like 28 more seasons........... lov it

I cant believe they took this show off the air, i live in canada i found it one day and absolutely feel in love with it, its amazing......and i didnt even get to find out what happened after that huge party that i believe johnnys mom threw,the red head who was turning 50 i think.....it wasnt on long enough for me to get to know all the characters names, i definitely thought it was confusing though!!!!

honestly this show is amazing, but WHAAAAT is going on? why is next week the series finale? we have gotten so into this show and now theyre just going to end it? THAT IS OUTRAGEOUS!!!

i love this show it is awesome now i have 2 cw shows i love and there both on during diff season so i never get bored.and taylor handly is so hot i love him and cliff is pretty sexy to.how much i wih i was the one who got to kiss them.

i think this is an excellent show i was so torn up about the season finally of one tree hill but i still have another great show to watch on wendedays now :D

Hey annonymous mind your P's and Q's seriously. If it's anger over Veronica Mars don't direct it at Hidden Palms. And don't post annonymously gah. VM was a great show that had three seasons. Hidden Palms has only aired 3 eps and only has 8 filmed. I think it deserves a little more respect and saving. As much as I loved Veronica Mars it had over 8 heck it had over 60 eps so I'm not going to cry over it really. I'll miss it but I have enough (three dvd box sets) to make it through.

I TOOOOOOOOTALLY AGREE with Bacio83 on that post right above mine, IF he gets any HOTTER the TV WILL EXPLODE and i would be awfully mad because i would not be able to see Johnny's cute innocent face and his beautiful body and i also wouldnt be able to see Cliff's sexy face and I would get REALLLLLY PISSED.

Save Hidden Palms, don't let the CW take away programs you love to watch just because of low ratings. We need TheCW to stand by some shows and give them a surviving chance.

I KNEW FOR A FACT THAT IT WAS LIZA. It was no doubt that Liza was the emailer. I actually sat on my bed and wrote down the peoples names I thought were the emailer and I came up with:
#1-Greta
#2-Cliff
#3-Liza
But what brought Liza up to the top of the list was that Greta was alittle unstable and Cliff was crazy but not crazy enough to do that well at least I thought he wasnt well after that little incident with his mother bf and him laying on his bed in the feedle position, i thought he could be doing the emails and the only person left was the little science geek Liza the one who was very experimenty but also very curious about her self at times,she was the perfect candidate for this. So now all Johnny has to do is HOOK UP with her and then he goes over to her house and finds her laptop and see the emails and find out it was her then he comfronts her and asks her why is she doing the emails and he asks her about what she knows about Eddie's death, OR maube he doesnt have to HOOK UP with her at all cuz it would make her and my day i would love it. And I loved the part when Johnny asked her to rub the sun screne on his HOT SEXY body and she was all scared at first but i think she did a great job on his back. And also i thought that Nikki was going to stay at Cliff's house instead of leavin and i also thought that she should have hooked up with Cliff, they'd make an awesome couple; well wouldnt they? Well anyway ILUVED THIS EPISODE.
