Katie Cassidy to Star as One of Supernatural's New Female Regulars

Katie CassidyCasting announcement! Katie Cassidy will star on Supernatural this fall in one of the two new female regular roles. That's right, she's the 20-year-old daughter of David Cassidy. Check out her resumé -- it includes Click and a recurring role on 7th Heaven.

Katie's taking on the role of "ruthless hunter," and we're hearing that the mercenary role will be announced any day now.

Earlier, we posted about the female regulars, and outrage erupted, as it has all over the blogosphere. Now that you know who one of them will be, are you guys any more in favor of this idea -- or are you madder than ever?

You know she isnt that bad she is a good actress!!
Why do u have to be so rude to her!!!!!
I bet if you where adutioning 4 supernatural no one would want you
So let her be ruby and forget "Ash"!!!!!!!!!

I think that we should all give katie a chance.every time she tries something new people have to complain. and just cause shes naturally a blondie doesnt mean shes dumb. she also isnt a slut. if she was a slut she would have already had kids by Jesse mccartney. y dont u pick on someone else? why is everyone being so shallow?

why does it always have to be a celebritys daughter and shes a blonde she probly doesnt even watch the show so i say piss off KAtie cassidy jared and jensen dont need u or ur friend

Well, you are all way out of line. Get over it. The statements regarding Katie Cassidy on here are not even accurate. First of all, this is Hollywood. She will obviously be changed to fit the character. (ie. hair color, etc.)...please, don't be naive. I have also read that she is in intensive training to "buff up" for the part. In addition those of you that have stated she is a "teen" are completely wrong. Katie has managed to stay AWAY from the Teen scene. Just because her boyfriend is part of that arena, doesn't mean Katie is. You certaiinly don't see her following the other girls her age, Paris, Lindsey, Nicole etc. She seems to be very level headed and a serious actor.
I have followed her career and am pleased to say she is quite talented, quite mature and can play older very well.... and she's always improving each time I find her in a new role.
You can't fault Katie for being who she is or that she is a gorgeous girl. I am certain that must work against her and as far as I am concerned, she has earned respect in this industry in her own right, not because of "daddy".
We all need to give her a break and see what she can do with the role. Stop presuming that Katie is "fluff" and not prejudge her. I know they are introducing her slowly, so hold on to your negative comments and lets just watch her for awhile.
Talk about prejudging someone, I think she will surprise all of you and you'll eat crow for it! I hope so, I think Katie is doing very well with her career and fans should just let her get past the "David Cassidy's daughter" stigma. She is nothing like him, rarely mentions him, unless asked, and he hasn't been "anybody" for years anyway. This girl has some REAL talent (unlike daddy, who is very limited)) and seems to continually be developing it, so hold onto your shorts, and sit back and watch!! YEA! GREAT CHOICE GUYS!

I'd rather have Ash and Jo
back. I don't like Katie
one bit.

wow.
my first reaction is: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
you're kidding me. have the producers noticed just how....obnoxiously horrendous of an actress katie cassidy is?! i mean....how many people have actually seen and actually LIKED the movies she's in? and c'mon; this is also why she had a SMALL role in 7th Heaven. goodness.

then, personal opinion of Miss Cassidy aside, the reoccurring Jo argument. fans didn't respond well the first time; what makes the producers think sticking another blonde actress into the mix is going to do ANYTHING for the show? give me someone a little less....blonde.....lol. and for goodness sake; why the HELL is she going to be a regular? this show isn't about giggling over who's getting some with whom. this is going to completely detract from what the original theme and purpose of the show was.

please don't turn into another pathetic soap opera. i'll be so sad. and i'm sure other fans will be just as disappointed in the fall of a great show.

WOOP DE DOO another slutty skinny blonde. You know that really pisses me off that they ONLY have tall skinny girls on the show.I mean dont get me wrong i LOVE the show but cant we get some girls with some meat on there bones at least.I HATE to say it but...the show will prolly get cancelled with TWO girls on it as regulars. All i want is Jared and Jensen...THATS ALL I WANT!Breathe Crysta breathe oooookkkkayyy.Anyways i probably wont watch the show with two skinny ugly bitches on it....and Im OBBSESSED with Supernatural...cause of Jared and Jensen and their hottness. But i suppose ill be nice and give them a chance...but i wont like it.

She looks young but I would
have Ash back.

I have to admit I am a little disheartened about the direction Supernatural is heading. It seems to be drifting farther from the foundation that made it so great, as Kripke said the freedom of the road and the sense of adventure. The repoir between the two brothers is what made Supernatural so great, adding on two new regulars so quickly is sure to make a bubble in the character chemistry. Supernatural is taking on more soap opera plots from what I am reading. Dean will likely angst and so will Sam which I fear will be to the same extent as season 2, except more of a role reversal. I want to see Dean face what hes handed and willing to work with Sam to save his own a**, to be the character he once was. I dont want shells of the former brothers and a new set of characters is not gonna make me more interested in a show. Flesh out the two main characters you got, theres a lot more to go and manipulate. I wanted to see Ellen and bobby be developed more. Bring back guest characters and weave them in. Theres so much left over the Supernatural storyline still left over and not wrapped up. I think those storylines need to be finally completed before any more surprises are revealed.
As for the casting, Katie reminds me of Jo so I am apprehensive. I was hoping for someone older and could lend a variety to the cast. Someone that would match the part described and could play that ruggedness of a hunter. I just hope that season 3 will be enjoyable and that supernatural has not run out of steam. I hope someone reads these comments.

The casting choice is demoralizing, to say the least. She looks absolutely typical. Absolutely staple. In fact, she's pretty much interchangeable with the new Supergirl.

If she lays off her bleach habit, goes to the gym, and wears the same clothes as any other hunter, I'll be willing to give the character a try.

However, her unpromising typicality doesn't bode well for any of those things happening.

I don't see how this can be the same show I fell in love with; two brothers on a mission; we're see!

Well, I'm gonna go with it's all how the parts written (and from what I've read I'm not a fan of her part so far) I really hope the writers learned their lesson with Jo. Of course, if she comes on and the fans absolutely hate her then they'll get the message.

Mr. Kripke, dont do anything stupid. Please?

I forgot to add this in my last comment, but...

I would just like to point out that people who don't watch Supernatural probably have the same reaction to the show in general as the fans have to Katie Cassidy. They see Supernatural is on a "teen-oriented" station and has two very attractive male leads and they probably automatically assume that the show is a piece of junk with no substance and actors who only got the parts because of their looks. The fans know that this couldn't be farther from the truth because we gave the show a chance. We should all be fair and give Katie the same chance.

Okay, everyone just needs to take a deep breath and chill out for a second. Really, people. I'm pretty sure that the same thing happened last summer when we heard about the new Roadhouse people and while Jo wasn't exactly a rousing success, the general consensus is that the Roadhouse people added to rather than took away from the show.

I'm not going to pretend that I'm bursting for joy about the prospect of two new "series regulars" whatever that's supposed to mean, but I'm not worrying about it until the season actually starts. I'm sure I'll end up liking them in the end (I also really like the idea someone in here had about one of them being possessed by Meg...that would certainly be interesting). Besides, Kripke hasn't steered us wrong yet, and I'm sure if it turns out that these two girls completely ruin the show then Kripke will write them out.

Deep breaths, people. In...and out...

mmm, I don't know. part of me doesn't mind the idea of other hunters joining the show, but another part of me feels as if they'll take away a lot of the spotlight from the Winchesters.

what the CW's doing is they're trying to make the show appeal to the male viewers. it's a good thing, though, since us girls DO get to stare at two incredibly handsome guys while the men don't have anyone to oggle.

I don't 'hate' the actress of course, she's looking for work like anyone else but i can't stand the idea of this sort of girl or what I've heard of Ruby and Bella on this show - Supernatural. It's just so out of place and not needed at all. She's all wrong, just like the usual cw teen type.
All we need are Dean and Sam, they can have girls along the way but NO to regulars please, especially little girls like this. It's tacky.

NNNNOOOO Bring back Ash!! Or someone else Oh well, I won't hate, she might be good, but she better not be in most of the episodes....=-D

Weeee, look at all the hate. That's fun!

I'll wait and see, I guess.

Im not really in favor of adding two regular women to the show. Supernatural had it right with the two brothers kicking ass and saving the day and all this will do is create drama. And I dont mean the good kind..I mean the kind that involves men and women together. Not to mention the sexual tension thing. I just dont think this show needs something to spice it up. Its only been two seasons and it seems like they are afraid they will lose their fan base if they dont shake things up. Smallville needs a shakeup and its season 7 for them..Supernatural does not.

I was hoping they would go outside The CW clone stable to cast these roles. Oh well. I'll give the new characters a chance and hopefully I will be pleasantly surprised. Kripke knows what works on his show and what doesn't, for the most part and if these two characters don't gel there are a googolplex of gory Supernatural ways to kill them off.

LOL!!!11OMG!!11
She's so OMG!!11 Hope she will have so many babies from Sam and Dean!!!!111
Hope the other regular is Pariz Hilton!!11
Season 3 with so many teeny chicks and babies!!11

What is going on over on the Supernatural set!!! The stories I am reading from the spoilers are getting worse and worse. The show cant be running out of steam already. Come on, Dean might have a kid in the second episode. Can we say jumping the gun..... your hitting soap opera territory.

I am so excited to hear about these two new regulars. They sound like they will be great additions to the show. Hoenstly it was getting a little old with the boys alone driving in the car. I would love to see these girls give them a run for their money. I can't wait for the season to start. Honestly people are you really going to stop watching. I think Jared and Jensen will keep you tuning in and perhaps these additions will bring in more viewers so we will get a fourth season and beyond.

She looks like one of those pathetic waitress or dumb bar tenders Dean would pick up some were:):)

OMG!!!!
She looks like she's 17!!
She doesn't look like a strong ,get in a demons face kinda hunter-she looks more like one of the girls Sam and Dean would save from a big scary demon!!
When I think of a strong get the job done hunter I think of a sexy, strong brunette who is good with a gun!!
But if she's gonna be on the show she better start winning people over as soon as possible, because by the sound of things... she won't be well liked.
And by the way, if she's on the show she better be the love interest of Sam and not Dean....cause Dean needs a real woman!!!!:)

Oh Yay:(!!!!
Another blonde bimbo!!!

What a barbie doll.

I thought Kripke would have cast much more creatively than a Hollywood-perfect blonde, skinny starlet. Didn't he learn anything from the Jo fiasco? But then again I guess it's The CW pulling all the strings here and this girl seems to fit their standard (and nauseating) casting template.

Teen soap-opera land here we come.

What next? Zac Efron and Miley Cyrus on the show??

I like the fact this isn't a girlie show. No hugs & kisses, or ice cream socials.

I would like to see the brother's get some action, but not get attached. Their lives should be nomadic, rugged, and girlfriend free.

Dean is too good to waste on one girl. He's a love em and leave em kinda guy.

Sam is too emotional, he couldn't handle one night stands. It's better to keep him reserved, until he becomes a little tougher.

Okay...so we've got our Skipper. I guess Barbie will be along shortly when they cast Bela.

And to think I *was* looking forward to S3. Oh well, there's always the memories of S1 and 2 to look fondly back on.

Being told to 'grow up' and accept a 20 year old bimbette as a seasoned Hunter is really a contradiction in terms!
I don't want any new regulars on this spectacular show. None. Recurring is OK, but even if this girl is just recurring her predictable type is very disappointing to say the least.
Too young, too skinny, too hollywood factory-farmed. I too can't believe they are serious. This is SUPERNATURAL for heaven's sake - not Barberella in Zombieland.

I'm still not happy about these characters being added. But I am still trying to keep an open mind about it, as much as I can.

Regarding Katie however, and this is no offence to the actress, because I have seen her in other things, and her acting ability seemed fine to me.

But whether or not she's right for this part, remains to be seen.
I don't really see brutal, ruthless hunter, who can run circles around the Winchesters, coming from this particular girl. I'll admit, I was hoping for someone who perhaps had a more muscular physique to her. And how they decide to dress her, will also be a huge factor, in the believability scale. Dress her like a hunter, not a leather clad barbie doll.

This has potential to work though, if they decide to do it right. If they figure out a way to play up her strengths in a believable manner. Perhaps have her good, more so in weapons or something. But if they have her being able to drop anyone and everyone on their butt at the drop of a hat, it's probably not going to work for me.

I guess we shall see.

Not another blonde teenage looking stick insect??!! Couldn't they have cast more creatively than this? And she's supposed to be a more ruthless hunter than Sam or Dean?? Yeah, sure. That's believable. Not. She looks like she couldn't fight her way out of a paper bag.
This isn't dispelling my opinion that The CW have foisted these girls on SPN to provide some T&A and to sex up the show into some teen soap opera they seem to love so much. Yup, pretty much madder than ever. Such a shame, SPN *was* the best show out there.
And we lose Ellen for her?? It beggars belief.

Well I think most of the fandom is angry at it...

WRONG.

We're only a tiny minority of the fandom here, and I'm not angry. There are far more egregious things going on in the world than 2 females added to Supernatural's cast and yes, it is because they're female that people are upset. Don't tell me that this outrage would be the same if they were male. I was born at night, but not last night. Only women are this nasty about other women. That's why there are movies called "Mean Girls." We girls know how true to life that is.

Katie Cassidy isn't a part of the "teen scene." She can play older than herself and she can dye her hair for crying out loud. This is NOT THE END OF THE WORLD. I actually saw someone refer to her as a "whore" in a response to Michael Ausiello's TV Guide column. I've seen the words "dirty slut" on imdb. That's nasty, classless and uncalled for. Welcome to Supernatural fandom, Mr. Ausiello. What did Katie Cassidy ever do to anyone who watches this show? I can only imagine what he thinks, and will write, about this estrogen crazed fandom. It won't be flattering; that's for sure, but only girls are this nasty to girls. We're not supposed to like these new characters. I imagine they're in the "love to hate" category. Life goes on. Grow up. These histrionics have passed the point of ridiculous when the actress is being called names.

I don't want to spoil anyone any more than this blog already has, but I would like to point out that the sides for episode 3.01 clearly state that Ruby is RAVEN-HAIRED. Think they'll make her dye her hair for the show (becuase, for some reason, I'm getting tired of blondes on this network)?

"I'm really, really hoping that Ruby ends up being the daughter of the hunter Possessed!Sam killed."

Sarah, same here. After BUABS aired I knew that would eventually come back around to bite Sam in the *ss just like the events of the Skin episode did to Dean.

It could be worse, the CW could have ordered Kripke to hire one of the young actresses (if you could call them that) from Hidden Palms.

I'm really, really hoping that Ruby ends up being the daughter of the hunter Possessed!Sam killed. THAT could be interesting. No clue if that's the reality, but it's a storyline I could get behind.

Whatevs. I'm reserving judgement. Kripke hasn't let us down yet and I'm not expecting him to. Plus, she is pretty, I'll give her that. Hopefully that isn't the only reason why she's on the show.

I want to trust Kripke
I want to trust Kripke
I want to trust Kripke
I want to trust Kripke
I want to trust Kripke
I want to trust Kripke

Well....I'm not sure what to think of this because I haven't seen any of her work - I didn't even know David Cassidy had a daughter. (now I have the Partridge Family theme in my head.)

Too young? From the surface, yes, but she does have the potential to look older than she is. The picture of her on TVG's website is more mature looking than the CW picture.

1) Her acting skills will have to be better than Alona's mediocrity if she's going to be acting next to Jensen and Jared.
2) She will have to change her appearance if her character is going to be taken seriously by the fans. (Weight training is a must and she’s going to have to do something about the girl next door thing she's got going on, because it's not fitting for the picture of a demon huntress)
3) Make-up, hair and wardrobe are key.
4) If she's going to be a hunter, write her as a hunter not a love interest who happens to be a hunter.

As for bela, hopefully they cast a redhead or brunette. We don't want buffy clones everywhere.

I'll have to wait for the S3 premier to see whether or not I'll like Ruby character. I really want to because it would be so depressing if I end up hating my favorite program.

That's it for now.

This is just adding insult to injury. This girl doesn't look like she could beat her way out of a wet paperbag, and she's supposed to be a kicka** hunter, give me a break. As an over 40 viewer they all ready killed the show for me by killing off or firing every character that my age group can relate too. I say it once again if you want ratings to go through the roof, bring back John!

If I wanted to watch yet another bottle blonde flash her teeth and, presumably, other body parts, I'd tune in to one of the umpteen other boring shows currently aired. Again, the ONLY regulars we NEED, and the ONLY regulars we WANT are SAM, DEAN and, of course, THE IMPALA!!!!!!

"Madder than ever" doesn't even begin to cover my real feelings right now! And you used those #$@#!$ words again... "SERIES REGULAR"!! Did the CW learn nothing from the disaster known as Jo???? Did they not even bother to read the 300(!) or so comments posted on this topic on the other article??

You want a kick-a** hunter? Then pick someone who actually LOOKS like they can pull off the job description, not someone who looks like they can barely lift their own bottle of peroxide. I guess the only positive here is that at least SHE doesn't look like she's 14 (unlike Jo). But of the thousands of skeletal blondes in Hollywood, this is the BEST they could do?! (sorry, no disrespect meant to the actress, but hey... that's the business)

You know, I'm trying really hard to trust Kripke on this... really I am... but this choice is making it nearly impossible. My condolences to Ms. Cassidy who will quickly become one of the most hated women ever to be associated with SN. Hope she has a thick skin underneath that fake tan -- she's going to need it!

To me it doesn't matter who is playing the character my feeling on the matter haven't changed.

If they were recurring I would have no problem if they were listed as recurring. Adding two new regulars in going to change the dynamic of the show. I love this show between the relationship between Sam and Dean.

It's not that they are female. I would still feel the same way if they were adding two new male regulars.

This is ridiculous. Are we to believe this young girl has the skills and experience to run circles around the Winchesters who are "expertly" trained?

This princess better hit the gym. Oh, and give her a screening of T2 so she can pick up some pointers of what a "ruthless woman" is supposed to be like mentally and physically.

Wonder what little chippy they're going to cast as Bella? Ashley Simpson?

Tell me again how Dean and Sam, who are both older than her, have been hunting all their lives, have a reputation as being dangerous and top of the list in both the hunter and the demon world and are now to be outdone and outwitted by some 21yr old huntress? Where has this magnificent hunter been? Two years the boys have been on the road and now they happen to meet uber huntress?

Tell me again why this is a good idea? Why I should tune in every week just to watch the heroes of the show being minimized by a newbie? Tell me why I would even bother watching any more since it's now about a four hunter party instead of Sam and Dean?

Because from the beginning it was about the brothers. But apparently, the CW heads have missed the whole gist of the show and decided that making it an OTH in the supernatural world would be a grand idea.

I don't care who plays the females, but yeah, young and skinny? yah, realistic there.

It would be best to make these two recurring instead of regular because, really, the thought of them being equal to Jensen and Jared just blows.

Great choice for the role...sorry, Katie Cassidy has NOT fallen into the "teen scene". She's earned respect and will do the role justice. Nice to see a fresh face, with talent! Thanks K and C

Well I think most of the fandom is angry at it...I was to begin with but last year I went into season 2 hating Jo and ended up liking her. I think I am one of many few...so I've decided this year I'm not going to judge until I've seen it first..cos who knows it might actually work..I trust kripke not to screw this up..and hopefully the other fans trust him enough to give it a go.

Well I not surprised that she is very young and blonde. I will be surprised that she can act. I pray that she is a strong character not some pathetic attempt by CW to get more viewers. Now lets see what actress they pick for Bella-over 25, athletic looking and brunette. Probably not, but I can always hope.

How long until Ruby's possessed by demon!Meg so we can enjoy the exorcism?

I hated the idea of these 2 females period. If they had to be recurring they may as well have Kept Jo and Ellen at least Alona Tal could act. Katie Cassidy is all of 20 and looks it. No way would I buy her as a ruthless hunter much less a hunter period. She is a pretty girl but looks better fitted for Gossip Girls then a mature adult show like Supernatural. I only pray Bela is better cast. I only pray if they do Not work Kripke will get rid of them. I watch and stay for Sam and Dean and I am not interested in any other regulars.

if people didn't take Supernatural seriously before, they definitely aren't going to now.

I too am dismayed that these two character are still being billed as REGULARS. The only series regulars allowed are Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki! Supernatural is about TWO BROTHERS and their journey...everyone else just shows up sporadically to either help them on their way or as an obstacle which they must overcome. That aside, I agree with Hannah, I don't much care which actress they pick as long as A) She can act; B) she's only in a few episodes; and I might add C) that she gains some muscle mass for the show in order to be a convincing hunter. From the many interviews that have been given when J2 are not onset working they are in the gym to keep in shape; if this actress wants to try and earn fans respect then she'd better be working just as hard as J2 to ensure that she not only acts the part but LOOKS it as well. Lastly, I do hope that the writer's have learned their lesson on what NOT to do with a character when the wrote Jo. Taking one character's personality traits (e.g. Dean's) and pinning them on another character is NOT the way to write an endearing character. Take a good hard look at other female characters who were (for the most part) well liked and take your cue from that. (Just to name a few: Ellen, Layla, Carmen, Ava, Sarah, Mary, Mara, Missouri...note that of these characters only one was a hunter, but all for the most part were considered strong, mature women.)

one of the Winchesters's guns probably weighs more than her. I can't believe they are actually serious about this.

Oh no! This is not looking good for Supernatural. It appears it now will be joining the CW teen soap camp. As anyone heard of variety in casting or as that become a foreign word.

Hey, it's not like Kripke & Co. are trying to bring Buffy II into the show or anything, right? But golly-jee, 20 years old, blonde, supposedly kicks arse harder than Sam and Dean? At least Buffy was 'the chosen one', which meant she had super abilities and girl power actually made sense. And in case people forgot, she kicked the hardest arse in a TV series called, 'Buffy, the Vampire Slayer'. She carried the show. What about this Ruby, does she have some super powers, too? Or are they just going to cram it down our throats that this slender slip of a girl will be kicking Sam and Dean's arses just because they said so?

Personally, I don't care one way or the other, and I think this fandom needs to get a grip and grow up some.

Accept the changes and move on, they are gonna happen.

I trust Eric and company to cast the the right girl for the part.

Calling Katie a dirty whore, and other names is immature. And it makes the whole entire fandom look bad.

I am willing to give the girl a chance, prove to me she can act. But then again I didn't have a problem with Jo either. Thought she turned out just fine.

Ruby is not Jo, at all no way..

Then again if the fans hadn't personally complained about Jo last season we probably wouldn't have Ruby or Bela.

I am still going to be loyal and faithful to my show, because well I am a fan till the very end.

I am totally on board with this idea. I've never heard of really watched anything she has played in but maybe she will be able to pull it off. I must say I don't think a blond will go over with the fans lol. She needs a fresh new look. Cut the hair and dye it. Give her somewhat of an edge to her look since she is supposed to be all ruthless and whatnot. She can't be the pretty blond from next door. I can't wait to see how it all unfolds.

Fan girls quit complaining please. Think back to the season finale people! How many Demons were released from the gates of hell? Do you think Sam and Dean can kill them off with just Bobby and Ellen? Nope I don't think they will. I for one don't want psycho Gordon back this season so i am happy we are getting two girls who are hunters rather than two helpless airheads or a psycho.

Change Katie's look a bit and I think she may be perfect. She is nothing like the girl that played Jo. She has a more mature look to her. Ok I will stop ranting. Please Please Please keep the girls. Some of us do know the difference between reality and fantasy, most fan girls just don't want to see girls hanging out with the boys all the time because then that crushes their dreams they have of marrying the fictional characters of Sam and Dean.

On behalf of myself and other fans who are true fans of the show and its content thank you for bringing in some new faces. I have a feeling this season is going to be big as wll as FANTABULOUSLY AWESOME. Supernatural gets better every season.

Why couldn't they find a brunette?

That's Ruby, huh? She's blonde. Really, I don't like blondes, even though I am one. In real life they can be classy and smart, but on TV (especially the CW), they tend to be DIDs (damsels in distress) and a bit slow. You guys remember Jo, right? I'm sure the actress is talented an amazing in real life, but TV made Jo the most hated of any SN character to cross the boys' path. I thought we were over the blonde thing *sigh*

i don't mind the actor i just don't like the idea in general of adding any more new regulars. i would be fine if she was just recurring like ellen or gordon. but regular? NO WAY!

If she's destined to be a love interest, I hope she's Sam's. She's too young for Dean, just a little girl! I want Dean to get it on with an actual woman.

I'm personally hoping that she'll turn evil or be a bad girl from the start. I wouldn't care if she appeared in a lot of episodes if she's their opposition.

I really don't care one way or the other who plays her (no offence to Katie Cassidy) I wasn't thrilled with the idea in the first place and I just hope she's a good actress and her character is a solid asset to the show and not a lame attempt to draw new fans.

I agree that the biggest disappointment at this point would be any attempt to add new "Regulars", the Winchesters are our dependable lead characters and they don't need any help with that thank you very much. Recurring or guest roles are okay by me, but otherwise there is no good reason to add these characters that I can see.

Right now I'm just trusting that Kripke knows what he's doing or at least will make the best out of the situation, but unfortunately I'm going to have to wait and see like everyone else what comes of this. ;)

I'm not at all happy with the addition of new "Regulars" on the show at all and it has nothing to do with the fact that they are female. Personally I couldn't care less what sex they are. I just don't want any more "Regulars" Sam and Dean are the only two "Regular" characters this show needs. ALL others should be "reoccuring or one time" characters. I watch this show for the dynamics between the brothers and for the weekly scary thing. There is nothing else like this show anywhere on TV right now. Lets not change it so it's like other show's because it's perfect the way it is! As my dad used to say, if it isn't broken, don't fix it!

As for the actress chosen. I don't really care who the pick as long as A)She can act. B)She's only in a few episodes.

I'm not happy with the pending changes but, I will trust Kripe and Crew to make it work. He hasn't let us down yet!

Apart from the fact that she's far too young and cw-blonde type to be a super-hunter *rollseyes* what d'you mean by 'star'?
'Ruby' could be a worse disaster than Jo.
I don't think this is the type of actress most SPN fans would be intrigued by at all - she seems so typical teen show material. This show is supposed to be different and edgy, more sophisticated and surprising.
I hope this character is just a parody of Buffy et al.
Please Kripke, not for reals!
