The CW Source

The good folks at TeeVee with MeeVee have taken a look at the CW's new fall offerings, and they're mostly positive. Here's a selection:

Aliens in America: "[D]eserves all the buzz it's getting." The two stars are "funny and awkward and endearing," says MeeVee, and the show will "bring the laughter of recognition to a lot of people and maybe open some minds." "But most important, this is funny."

Reaper: "A pleasant surprise too, although I'm still not sure how the hell it's going to work week to week." "I was ready for this to be a mess, but actually it made me laugh a lot."

Gossip Girl: "[T]he tale of some hugely annoying New York City children of privilege whose social and sexual power games draw much from 'Cruel Intentions.' The mean girls here are really mean, but even the 'good' kids here seem to want a smack." "[T]hese kids are plastic and evil. Yuck." Ouch.

Life is Wild: "This is the kind of show that lesser networks and cable outfits have been making since 'Born Free' hit forty years ago," but MeeVee still liked it. One caveat: "[O]ne of my notes reads, 'Oh f*ck they're naming the lion cub,' and that's never a good sign." Heh.
