Supernatural Big Bad Bracket: We Have a Winner!
The votes have been tallied, the dust has settled, and we have a winner in this year’s Supernatural Big Bad Bracket. Dead Daddy Winchester held on to his lead over Bobby and emerged victorious, the ultimate power player among this year’s competitors.
It was one heck of a fight, though, folks – the lead went back and forth early on, with Dead Daddy establishing a slim lead by the end of the week. Bobby fought back valiantly – at times the two titans were only a few votes apart – but in the end, Dead Daddy Winchester got 100 more votes than his friend and compatriot. Bobby, our trucker hats are off to you for putting up such a strong fight, but John had you in the end.
There you have it, folks: Blood -- even incorporeal blood -- truly is thicker than water – even holy water, and even when that holy water is in a bottle of beer. Congratulations, Dead Daddy Winchester, for your victory. And our congratulations as well to Bobby, who put up a great fight.
Let’s hear it for Dead Daddy Winchester, this year’s Big Bad Bracket champion!

Stop turning Sam into Dean for crying out loud. You’re making him into a psychotic killing machine and messing up what little of Sam’s character that was fleshed out. Warning: sides for episode five are spoilery and make Sam very out of character. Seems like a rehash of season 2 except with Sam.

Yeah-Daddy Winchester!! Even death couldn't keep him down. John gave the show a depth,that I can only hope can be filled by Bobby.

Yeah for John! I like both him and Bobby and would have been pretty happy with either winning, ultimately though I think John deserved this nod since he is, in fact, dead now. He was a really great character and we still have Bobby so it's kind of like a win/win. ;)
I was a little curious why the picture on this update is John posessed by the Y.E.D though, I thought that was a little strange. ;)

The closeness of the vote between these two characters only serves to reinforce the love that the fandom has for both. I was secretly hoping for a tie but I'm glad big Papa John came out victorious.
I don't think John would've been killed off if JDM's schedule weren’t so busy. Just as he couldn't appear for "What Is and What Should Never Be" and it had to be taken in a different direction (which still worked). Even his brief appearance in "All Hell Breaks Loose" had its shooting difficulties due to a busy schedule. JDM will always be Papa Winchester and we will gladly take him as often as we can get him. Jim Beaver as Bobby is absolutely wonderful as he now serves as the surrogate father or close family uncle that the brothers desperately need.
Both characters are loved and admired and Kripke & Co should pay attention to this before causing any harm to either. Jim Beaver is the one who has earned the right to be labeled as a “regular” and be awarded with more episode appearances than what are currently planned, not some untested newbies. (and I don’t intend to stir THAT pot up again, but I’m just saying…!)
