Gossip Girl: Sympathy for the Devils
Gossip Girl pulled off quite a feat last night: It made us feel sympathy for or admire a couple of characters we love to hate.
First off, Nate. Now, we don't hate him -- before tonight, there hardly seemed to be enough to hate. He was just this bland, slightly pathetic rich guy who couldn't stand up to his father. But our shriveled little hearts kind of broke for him when his hero and role model, the guy he was turning to to prove that money isn't the whole point of life, turned out to be just as despicable and money-hungry as everyone else. Then to add insult to injury, he finds out his dad had emptied out his bank account. That can't be good.
Which brings us to our second character-rehabilitation shock: depraved bad-boy Chuck turned out to be a stand-up guy, rescuing Nate from the con men who played him, and giving up some of his prized possessions to bail him out. Giving up the Babe Ruth baseball? That's a big sacrifice. We're not talking just money here -- that's a part of history. Who knew Chuck had it in him?
And then there's Blair. We can see how she became this brittle, status-obsessed, abrasive character -- with a mother like that, how could she help it? Mama Waldorf was monstrous, tossing her daughter aside without a word when she didn't meet her business objectives. Poor Blair -- Serena is the only thing keeping her human. No wonder it was such a blow when Serena left.

this show is so awesome blair is so mean to sebrena and jenny its funny and mean at the same time this show should have more fights in it hahaha but yeah this show is awesome my friends and i watch it every week
