Reaper: Halloween Rocks! (Unless You're The Devil)
Happy Halloween! Unless, of course, you’re the Devil, in which case: Our commiserations, buddy. We never thought about how hard this day could be on you, but Reaper opened our eyes to the insidious realities of the commercialization of evil.
The Devil was on fire last night (so to speak) and the episode kicked ass because of it. How awesome was the Devil’s moody smoking scene at the beginning? And we loved him telling the scary story about the Butcher in the slaughterhouse – if he wasn’t so down on Halloween, he could make a fortune narrating in a haunted house somewhere.
And then there was the Work Bench wackiness – is it bad that we found ourselves agreeing with Ted about how Halloween should be a week-long holiday? Although we’re not sure we needed to see him in full-on Jack Sparrow and Spartan gear.
What did you think of the souls Sam was tracking down this time? We know Sock loved Leon, but he started grate on us. And his “surprise” turnabout? To quote another TV show, “Curse your sudden by inevitable betrayal!” Did anyone not see that coming?
The dog monster was appropriately scary – until, of course, we saw him in full. Monsters are almost always better when you can’t really see them – something Supernatural does well. We hope Reaper picks up on that too.
What did you think? Did you like the Sam/Sock fights, or were you waiting for them to make up? Did Leon make you laugh, or were you itching to send him back to hell? Are you glad and Sam and Andi have made up? And are you still feeling a little sorry for the Devil? Vote in our polls, and leave your thoughts in the comments!
