Reaper Gets Some Radar Love
Aw, yeah, baby -- this week's Reaper is built around fast cars, reckless daredevils and the greatest driving song ever written. This, my friends, is good stuff. And fine, we'll admit -- the muscle cars and the mullet rock smack of Supernatural. But we don't mind - there's enough Radar Love to go around!
We thought this was a ridiculously fun episode, but we've got a weakness for 70s schlock movies and the like. Yes, we love over-the-top stunts, bad dialog, obviously faked car stunts, and feathered hair. Don't judge!
The guys are supposed to trap the escaped souls in an old 8-track, but they're also got other things to contend with. First, they have to parlay with their skeevy, 70s-throwback co-worker Russ -- and the fact that he's played by Curtis Armstrong (probably most famous for the Revenge of the Nerds franchise and Moonlighting) made it that much more fun. Second, there's a hot chick the Devil keeps throwing Sam's way -- should he jump at the chance to jump Taylor? After all, he and Andi are just friends...
Speaking of Andi, we actually kind of liked her this episode. Her character is getting some depth. The hidden lounge secreted among the stock was genius -- she had a couch, a TV and even beverage service! Plus, she didn't freak out when Taylor came looking for Sam -- she looked a little wistful, sure, but she knew she didn't have any room to be snippy.
But our favorite character was the hell-raising Holly, played by Mercedes McNab, who we'll always think of as Harmony from Angel. She really relished her role as a tough-talking, ass-kicking 70s antihero. Good stuff.
