Beauty and the Geek: Creepy Crawlies and Bartending
Nooooo! Why did Joshua and Shay have to go home instead of William and Jen? We've said it before and we'll say it again: the fact that William and Jen are still around just proves that there's something really wrong with the way this show does its eliminations. If the show were REALLY about who was learning from the experience/each other, W&J would've been gone weeks ago, and Joshua and Shay probably would've earned the grand prize.
Seriously, has there been a beauty/geek partnership in recent years as perfectly complementary as Joshua and Shay? Shay commented that the other teams said they're like an old married couple, and we can totally see it: Shay mussing up Joshua's hair and helping him pick his clothes, and Joshua just sort of taking it, but kind of enjoying being bossed around. And Shay's suggestions are all out of love, anyway. We miss them already!
What'd you guys think of the challenges this week? The creepy-crawly one seemed kind of unfairly creepy -- if it was really all about learning the Latin names, they could've just matched flashcards with pictures or something. Instead, those with genuine bug fears like Jasmine were so freaked out they could hardly concentrate. Or maybe we're just biased -- after all, we were shuddering just LOOKING at those tarantulas and roaches.
Meanwhile, the geek challenge was equally difficult -- even for non-geeks, we think! The guys had to tend bar, tossing rum bottles and quips alike with ease. Dave won, and rightfully so; he was pretty awesome and charmed his way through cocktail prep with jokes and smiles -- even when he poured cranberry juice all over himself.
How great was it when Nicole called William out on his rudeness? He totally expected everyone to agree with him when he ripped on Jen, but Nicole stood up for what's right (as she always does -- she's turning into the moral compass on this show) and told him what's what. Even the usually smug William seemed slightly stung, like, wow, is it possible I'm not ALWAYS right?
