Beauty and the Geek Recap: Finally, William and Jen Leave!
As far as we can tell from a completely unofficial poll we conducted amongst a group of our friends/coworkers/acquaintances, William and Jen had about as little support among the BATG community as, well, one of Jen's tube tops. So when the not-so-likable pair finally went home at the end of last night's episode, we doubt anyone shed a tear. Hey, W & J weren't exactly emotional about their departure, either. Unlike just about every other team that's left before them, they couldn't even manage a good-bye hug. At this point, they were clearly only about getting some cold, hard, cash (not that every other team doesn't want the money, but at least Sam/Nicole and Dave/Jasmine seem to genuinely like each other).
Compared to William and Jen's departure, the rest of the episode was pretty low-key. The teams competed in a partner grape-stomping challenge at a vineyard -- anyone else think that challenge was specifically employed to force William and Jen to (gasp) touch each other? Sam was a poor sport when he actually didn't win a challenge for once, and his sulking soured Dave and Jasmine's victory dinner.
Later, the teams watched videos to see how far they'd come since the beginning. Wow! we'd forgotten how dorky Dave was. He looks so much better with his new 'do, groomed facial hair, and lack of spectacles. And Nicole, too, looks much more relaxed than when she arrived, overly-buttoned-up.
The episode's other big moment? Dave finally confessed his feelings to Nicole. Aw, a geek crush! However, she didn't seem that into him, did she? Sounds like she'd be up for grabbing coffee when they return home to Boston... and that's about it. But it doesn't really matter. Even if those two never geek it up as a full-fledged couple, the big deal is that Dave had the confidence to tell Nicole how she feels -- and she was clearly flattered, even if she doesn't think of him in that way. We love seeing the geeks emboldened by their newfound confidence!

I was very excited to see how the couples reacted to each others life styles.... It was interesting to see them open up to each other and share there lives with the other.. I am pumped to see who wins... To me they both have come so far and they appear to be doing this for the right reasons so to me it doesn't really matter who wins but the anticipation sucks....

i LOVED the last episode. im really proud of dave, he FINALLY did it! YAY ALL AROUND! i think jasmine was funny when she was playing matchmaker but it was for the best. i think dave and nicole should get together
