One Tree Hill Podcast: Premiere Chatter and Speculation
This week has been One Tree Hill mania at The Source, and we're kicking off the weekend with our first One Tree Hill podcast!
In this week's podcast, Sarah and I discuss all the pressing issues of the two-hour premiere: How much bad luck can Peyton take? How awesome was Haley's closing voiceover? Is Naley's nanny too good to be true? And how perfectly cast is little Jamie Scott?
There's all this and more in the first OTH podcast! Listen and tell us what you think in the comments -- we'd love to hear from you.

Well thank god for Tivo, because I have to skip right thru K-fed, hope I don't have to endure him long or I will have to tune out until he disappears.

I just want to say that Brooke's clothing line is called Clothes OVER bros NOT clothes BEFORE bros...and im not happy about this "Romp" thing..he did not have a "romp" with taylor while he was married to haley!

i totally agreed with the girls on the podcast this week. especially with the comment that they don't want to see bad things happen to the Scott family, because Naley is my absolute favorite as well and i don't want anything bad with the nanny to happen to them although i doubt it will. it would be so much better if mouth got with her but the thing with his boss is def awkward and weird. and i also thought it was a way good twist that veronica was brooke's mom. i'm loving it so far!!

This season will be packed with drama especially where four years have already gone by. The idea to forward ahead is perfect. I hope there will always be "another" season!!!!!

I loved your podcast! I always like hearing what other people have to say about OTH. I may not always agree with some things that are said but all in all it was great! I do agree that Nathan was being a pansy-ass but I think he was written that way so that he would be able to make a grand comeback and have fans fall in love with Naley all over again! The kid was ADORABLE and a great addition to the cast. I understand (although I don't like) the comment about Mouth. The first two episodes this season were not his best but trust me, he's a great character and does have some redeeming qualities. Have a little faith and don't write him off just yet!
Thanks for all the great thoughts and I look forward to the next one!

Hey, I'll admit to being annoying at times. Like I said, I'm new to the show, so I don't know the history. Maybe Mouth has a long, storied, significant past on the show. But in the two episodes I saw? Least interesting storyline there. I'm sure he's a nice guy, but I sort of napped every time it was just him on screen.
As for Nathan -- come on, you didn't think his "poor me, I've lost everything -- except my house, my wife, my child, my friends... -- allow me to sink into an unshowered slough of despond and grow scruffy facial hair while I drink myself silly and terrify my adorable child and long-suffering wife" annoying? He needed to snap the hell out of it and get back to life, which, by the end of the episode, he was starting to do. But his whole self-pity trip just pissed me off, and nothing you can say will convince me otherwise. I don't mean he's annoying as a human being, or that I don't think he'll be involved in good storylines -- I'm saying for those two episodes, while it was All About Nathan and His Broken Dreams, he was an annoying little twerp who needed his butt kicked. I look forward to seeing how he develops.

First off can I just say this podcast annoyed the heck out of me. Jackie I loved listening to you, but Sarah you really annoyed the heck out of me. I loved the
comments about Bethany Joy though. Calling Mouth pointless really made me angry so please next time keep it to yourself! This comment about the podcast was not meant to be mean, just expressing my opinion.

You two were great. I loved hearing your opinions on the premiere episodes, (especially Mouth. I find him pointless too.)
And I completely agree, Bethany Joy Galeotti is a great actress, if not the best out the younger set. Her last scene with Nathan was absolutely heartbreaking. She was perfect!
Can't wait to listen for next week's episode. Good thoughts.

well im a bit curious myself about that ring lucus had?

I'm a Nathan fan, and I actually totally agreed with what Sarah said. He WAS annoying!!! Yeah, he's having a hard time, but come on!!! He wasn't even noticing his awesome wife and adorable son. I'm glad he came around at the end, a whole season of mopey Nathan wouldn't be my idea of a good time.

Hey, Jackie (great name!),
Well, that's open to interpretation. I thought Nathan's behavior with Taylor in season two was inappropriate. He had slept with her (before he was with Haley, but still!) and didn't tell Haley right away, and he hung out with Taylor in date-like ways -- jogging at the beach, having cocktails by the fire -- not anything I'd want my husband doing with someone he had a history with!
The "romp" I referred to was the romp before he was with Haley. He didn't cheat on Haley with Taylor, but they did have a history, and I think he should've been up front with Haley about that right away.
Anyway, thanks for the comment, and keep them coming! We'll have a new OTH podcast next week.

Great podcast. I was wondering, how come you guys forgot about the ring Lucas had. I bet it was for Peyton. What do you think?

You were great to listen to, Jackie! :)
Sarah..? Not so Much..
"Nathan was just annoying!"
Well, you were that to.
Posted by: cia | January 12, 2008 5:31 AM
Ummm, Nathan was most certainly NOT attracted to Haley's sister nor was there any "romp". Way to only see things on the surface.
Other than that awfully wrong comment, everything else was fine to listen to and mostly true.
