One Tree Hill Kicks Off Season Five!
What an incredible way to kick off Season Five -- with a homecoming! It’s so perfect that some of the gang felt they had to leave Tree Hill to do what they wanted in life, but then they realized that the only way they could be their true selves was by coming home.
Lucas headed back to Tree Hill to get past his writer’s block. And both Brooke and Peyton returned, searching for the person they were before they left four years ago. Well…Peyton may have really come back for Lucas. We certainly hope she did. And now that everyone is finally home for good, things in Tree Hill are going to get shaken up!
What we loved:
*We LOVE that Brooke denied the skinny chick the cover of her magazine, saying, “Anorexia is a disease, it is not a fashion statement.”
*We adore little Jamie Scott. Did that 4-year-old kid not steal every scene he was in?
*It was absolutely great when Peyton took Nathan to the Pediatric ICU and showed him that no matter how bad he thinks he is, his life is much better than so many others. How could he continue to feel sorry for himself after that?
*And finally, we love that Haley channeled her anger at Nathan and finally took control of her unruly English class. And the speech she gave after she took control -- it was better than her valedictorian speech!
What we didn’t love:
*Nathan. The beard, the greasy, long hair, the boozing and the attitude. Need we say more?
*We don't like Mouth’s new TV boss lady. When she told him that he didn’t have the face for a reporter position, we wanted to reach through the tube and smack her for him!
*He may be entertaining, but we don’t like Quinn Fields -- he’s cocky, he’s arrogant and he sexually harassed Mrs. James Scott on her first day of teaching. Too bad he’s such a good basketball player. But while we didn’t love him, we did love the fact that Lucas didn’t place him on the team—even if he is the best player.
*And last but certainly not least, we hate that Peyton told Lucas that they weren’t meant to be and we can’t believe that she didn’t come up to talk to him at the book signing in LA. What was she thinking?
Now for the character-by-character updates:
What’s up with Lucas: He’s published his novel, An Unkindness of Ravens, but now he’s suffering from a serious case of writer’s block. Some call it the sophomore curse. In fact, it’s been two years since he’s written anything. Luckily, he’s dating his editor, Lindsey.
Lucas’ new full-time gig is as the new Head Coach of the Tree Hill Ravens. Not an easy job. The team is terrible now -- a real disservice to Coach Whitey. Lucas is ready to go hard, though. He clears every spot on the roster. He’s ready to start a new team. And he does.
What’s going on with Peyton: Being the assistant to the assistant doesn’t exactly live up to the musical dream. She gets into a meeting to introduce a band, but then she gets shot down for another act that has no talent. Peyton’s not interested in playing the show business game, so she quits her job and returns to Tree Hill... just to find out that Lucas is with someone else. She should have showed up to his book signing in LA two years earlier -- he would have never gotten together with his editor!
What’s up with Haley’s life: Haley is teaching English at Tree Hill High (which isn’t nearly as easy as tutoring was) and getting sick of her hubby’s pathetic pity party. And with a daddy who has all but totally checked out of the family, Haley finds herself a little overwhelmed. So she hires herself a nanny named Carrie.
What’s Nathan doing: Nathan was set to be the tenth draft pick to the Seattle Sonics. He even had his own shoe line (the NS 23) all ready to go. But after a senseless bar brawl, he’s wheelchair bound, cranky, and drinking too much. He’s slowly becoming a worse version of his father. He’s lucky though; with a little work he’ll walk again. Unfortunately, Nathan doesn’t think he has any luck. He doesn’t think he has anything at all.
What’s up with Brooke: Clothes Over Bro’s is a huge multi-million dollar company, and Brooke is huge, too. But something’s missing. Instead of going to Milan on business, she decides to head home to Tree Hill to meet Peyton. She manages to hide out there and tries to help her friend get her head together (even though she’s really trying to get her own feelings sorted out, too). Brooke wants Peyton to start her own record label… in Tree Hill. She also decides to run Clothes Over Bro’s from Tree Hill. Well, we can tell she has the funds for it!
What’s going on with Mouth: Unemployed but still dreaming, he answers a job at a TV station about a field reporter position and ends up with an entry level logger position. He watches games and highlights the best plays. Hey, he gets paid for watching TV…not too shabby! However, his cranky boss, Tracy, hates him and is happy to tell him as much.
What’s up with Skills: He’s not just the new assistant head coach of the Tree Hill Ravens, he’s the force behind little Jamie’s soap box derby car. Skills is clearly still a kid at heart.
What’s up with little Jamie: He’s adorable, he’s spunky, and he’s so darn smart! He’s excited about the soap box derby, but he’s afraid of the car. Who can blame the kid when the thing popped a wheel during the test run and the crash test dummy lost his head? And when Jamie’s daddy doesn’t even come to the race, it really ruins the tyke’s day. At the last minute, Jamie decides that he doesn’t want to race. Luckily, it turns out to be the wake-up call that Nathan needs. That night Nathan wakes up his son for a little surprise. In an adorable scene, they conquer their fears together when they roll down the derby hill -- Jamie in his car, and Nathan in his wheelchair.

I love the new season. Naturally being a fan of Peyton and Lucas i'm a little frustrated with the new lindsey. The main thing I am waiting for is some more explanations about previous actors that just disappeared. What happened with Skillz and Bevin? Where is Rachel? and Was the Celebrity what killed Brooke and Chase? and Where is Deb? I had heard she had a baby, but for her just to be gone when Deb was so crazy about her new grandson. I just really want for these questions to be answered. Thank you. I love One Tree Hill!!!!

i love season five of one tree hill. im really excited to see what happens with the crew..theres so much going on with lucas and peyton..i hope they will find their way. i hope that nathan wont do anything stupid with the nanny but than again haley has been a b***h to him so i wont blame him. brooke as always rocks...love all u guyssssssssss

So far, the season is good. The only thing I'm really mad about is that they dont explain where anyone is. I know that not a lot of people stay friends with people from high school....but they could aleast explain where...DEB is, where CHASE is, where RACHEL is, and where BEVIN is...because she WAS SKILL'S girlfriend....and Lucas must get back together with Lucas...and...Jake should randomly come back with Jenny all grown up!?!!?

I loved the beginning to a new season!!! Lil Jamie is so adorable. I loved how hailey settled things in her classroom. I really want Lucas and Peyton to get back together. I really don't like lindsey!!! Hopefully Lucas and Peyton will find their way!!!!

OK i loved the first episode and i want lucas and peyton back together this girl lindsey needs to go becuz i think she is causing trouble between true love...i love the babysitter shes nice and she helped haley and nathan get back close but this writers strike have to end becuz i love this freakin show it rocks my socks and i look forward to tuesday night i live breathe sleep and eat one tree hill ok i have all the seasons so for the fans sake keep this show going becuz its well written and just fab-u-lous

Ok so just watched the first 3 episodes of season 5 of one tree hill and they were so amazing nathen looks so hot! really hate lindsey Peyton and Lucas are the best tv couple and should totally be together, does anyone know why they broke up? in the trailer for season 5 they showd lucas with the ring then cut to peyton so maybe he had proposed and she said no and thats why they broke up? does anyone know? oh and little jamie is so cute!

1.I love to see Peyton and Lucas again I really do hope that they finally get together. They obviously love each other very much but they've always had things standing in their way.
2.I love to see Haley's new look she has out of all of them transformed from high school to a working gal.

Omygoodness. I absoultly LOOOOOVED the season 5 premiere of the beloved One Tree Hill. I've watched it since the series first premiered on the Wb and I have never missed an episode...seriously. the amazing cast, crew... and writers.. Never fail to disappoint!
I Love that they brought Lucas and Skills back to coach the Tree Hill Ravens, and that Haley is now a teacher there. I also love that Lucas is still watching out for Haley. And he is definitely becoming Keith.. he is a GREAT uncle to the adorable, genuis-Jaime Scott! Love that Kid!
I love how they are bringing everyone back. I am a little interested to see where the adults are in their lives...
One Tree Hill is amazing and I know that we're in for a GREAT Season 5.. and hopefully namy more to come. I know I'll be glued to my TV set every Tuesday at 9!!!

Im going to start of with talking about the new and improved season 5. I love this show from day one and i think that this season is going to be a great one just like the others. (I mean do we really have to worry about how next week is going to be... i can tell you what its going to be amazing just like evrey show to date.)
Now to talk about something more important would be the writers strike. These writers need to move fast and come to some kind of agreement, because i am not for seeing this show work so hard to get to season 5 skip 4 and a half years of there lives and then just end it after 12 episodes. PLEASE STOP THE WRITERS STRIKE!!! For devoted fans out there such as myself.

Loved loved loved the premiere. Even though it's heartbreaking that LP are not together, I still enjoyed their angst-filled scenes. The "Your art matters" throw-back was beautiful and was acted and direceted perfectly.
Also, I think the ring Lucas pulled out of his drawer is for Lindsey.

It was great, i loved peyton & lucas in this episodes, all the scenes, all the atmosfere, they still in love with each other, we can see it in their eyes, their emotions, their speech.
I can't help falling in love with OTH, all over again. It's so great, i love it, really.
Buuut. Where's Bevin (we don't know what happened to her and skills), and chase? (we don't know what happenned to her and brooke!), i miss karen, moira kelly brings a lot to the show. And Rachel, i need rachel, rachel is so great.
I loved James, he is a cute and smart boy, he is wonderful. Really. I loved all the scenes with him.
Please, episodio 19 can't be the last one, please, please. I love one tree hiiiiil *-*'. How were the rantings of premiere??
Although OTH isn't shown here in Portugal, i'm addicted (pleeease bring it to Portugal haha). Thanks for all of us that become this all come true..

This season premire was amazing. There are a few things that i would have like to have gone differently like the fact that Lucas and Peyton are no longer together but im sure they will find their way back to eachother or it will be another love triangle this time with lindsay. By the way i don't like her much wither but that may be because she took lucas from Peyton. I love that Haley is FINALLY sticking up for herself and her family and FINALLY gave Nathan the fricken reality check he needed. (even if it didn't wake him up. :]) I was happiest with Lucas and Haleys stories. (Not lindsay or the whole natahn is a stupid jerk who pitties himself thing) but i love how they are still best friends and how lucas is there for Jamie just like Keith was there for him. Speaking of Jami is is the CUTEST THING ON THE PLANET, but i think he looks more like lucas then nathan.

that had to be best season premiere i have ever seen. i love where all the character have ended up, even Nathan cuz i think he will be a better person later for what he is going thru, plus i think that kid Quinten reminds Lucas of a earlier version of Nathna when he first joined the Ravnes. So it would definietly be cool to see Nathan bound w/ Quinten and teach him how to be a taem player, and it might help Nathan find a way to still have basketball in his life.

omg so glad one tree hill is finally bk!!!dunno how iv coped 4 past few mths!!1st 2eps were amazing!!!jamie is adorable!!as sad as it is that nathan is in a wheelchair, think its a really gd storyline and cant w8 2 c how naley handles it!!!lucas is lookin hot (as usual)as much as i hate 2 admit it i like lindsey (but def want him2 get bk w/ brooke!!!)BRUCAS all the way!!!ps brooke+jamie/lucas+jamie scenes were ace!!def cant w8 2 find out y it took brooke 4 yrs 2 meet him even tho she's his godmother!!guessing hayleys gona hav it out w/ her soon!!!anywayss fantastic start 2 season 5!!!hope the writer's strike ends soon and that one tree hill continues 4 at least another 100 eps!!!

I loved the premiere, specially the second episode... It was great to see the gang together all over again. I loved almost everything, except Lindsay, I don't like her that much... also, I'm tired of seeing Peyton's life revolve around Lucas... I can't like them together, I think they're cheesy,boring and dull...sorry leyton fans... Unfortunately for me, it seems it's gonna be another Leyton season... :(
Besides that, love the Brooke and Peyton friendship, Lucas and Haley and the all cast with Jamie. He's so adorable!!! I even like Mouth's storyline and Skills was great too, specially with Jamie. But Nathan... UGH!! It's not only the hair, but He's becoming boring! I prefer Him when he was bad, in season 1... oh well... That's just my opinion!

I DONT KNOW WHERE TO START... that's how great 2-hours premiere was. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time except during the ads interruption =P i'm a big fan of brucas so i love the scene where brooke walked into lucas' room when she returned and hopped onto him.. but only to find it was his new gf. i hope there more scene on these two.. they are sooo cute together. other scenes i enjoyed were when brooke was with the cutest boy, jamie. they had such a great relationship!!! for all i know.. the show can be base on brooke, lucas and jamie.. haha.
well... the show started at a high mark this season.. hopefully they will continue to keep us on our feet. this was the best season premiere from what i remember!!! =D keep up the good work!!!!

This season premiere was the best out of all the other ones. This season will be the best because the cast is older and more mature. Jamie is the cutest kid EVER!!!!!!!!! When he told Nathan he drank too much i was almost crying... and when Haley asked him if he knew that his dad loved him.. he said, "Uncle Lucas loves me" and i like Haley almost started tearing because Nathan can't even see how much he is hurting his son. But as long as Nathan cuts his hair and gets his act together then this season will be amazing!!! And about Carrie i hope she doesn't get with Nathan or Lucas ... Also, I love Brooke and Jamie when they are together because he really listens to her and she is such a good godmother... the season premiere was so great can't wait for the rest of the episodes

The BL hug was amazing,the best part of the episode, i can't stop watching it, priceless, i love them so much, i hope they find their way back in the end !!
Brooke is amazing, a working girl with a wonderful heart, funny and so sweet like always, i'm so happy to see her again.
The naley storyline is very interesting, great !!
Jamie is so sweet, and BJ scenes were just perfection, i hope for a BLJ scene, gorgeous godparents.

Ok I love One Tree Hill it was a very good episode but I do have some things about it that I dont like one of them is Nathan's hair I do not like the long hair or the face hair that is not the hott Nathan I know and love... I have always been a Brooke fan above all but for Lucas I guess but I cant believe im saying this but I like Peyton for him I guess.. I do not like the editor lady she is nice and all but I wish Lucas would keep it in the group Brooke or Peyton. Haley I love her hot new look she looks way better and she has got one of the cutest kid's ever, I love how James can go and hang out with the guys I think it is so cute, and Skills man I love him more and more every time I see him he cracks me up. Calling that little kid a follower at the durby. I guess ill go i've taken enuff of yall's time

first of all i dont like that kid quin at all.
but i love that peyton and brooke came home and are still great friends.
i want to know what happened between peyton and lucas's break up and why she would say they werent meant to be. if i had to guess i would say that lucas proposed to her with that ring in his drawer but for some reason she turned him down.
and Nathan has always been my favorite person on the show and i know he's gonna pull himself together soon. I loved when he called james "JimJam" and i totally loved when he woke him up and took hinm in the soap box car. I love Nathan and realyl want him to get back on his feet (literally)
oh and Karen is in Ireland and New Zealand? maybe shes with Andy ??

I loved the 2-hour premiere!! It was so exciting, but the depressing moment was when Peyton is at the Rivercourt and she bumps into Lucas and then gets shot down because Lucas breaks the news that he is involved with someone else. That puts a cramp on all the Leyton fans expecting a more pleasent welcome with those two. Anywho... what I did love the most about the season premiere was that Nathan finally got of his high horse and realized that he has a great life than what he thought he had and with a little help fron Peyton, persistant pushing about his drinking and habbits from his brother Lucas, a well deserved scolding fron Haley, and a few sweet but mind altering words from his son, Nathan finally got the picture!! I was so happy that Nathan pushed himself to try and walk again and maybe become a better person than the was before. GO NATHAN!!!!!

I'll have to agree with you completely when it comes to what you hated and what you loved about the episodes. Amazing season premiere though. Was not expecting much and this was just beyond phenomenal.
You left something out though. Well 2 things actually.
1) Karen & Lily. Apparently they are traveling the world, the cafe has been shut down but Tric is still running (quite possibly still by either Deb or Karen - don't know just yet).
and 2) One of my favorite scenes from the premiere: When "JLuke" lol makes a drawing for his dad and it gives Nathan the boost he needs to stand up and try to make things right again. In the end he ends up in the pool and struggles to walk after realizing that he has *everything* to lose if he does not change for his son and wife.
Amazing season so far and hopefully it will only get better and finally be able to answer a bunch more questions that we have including where is Whitey? What's up with Karen taking off and the cafe being shut down? Where is Deb? What about Rachel? Was she the one that Brooke fired? Where's Bevin? So many things to be answered and I can't wait.
Hope everything turns out well in the end for all of them :) Hopefully the writers strike will be ending soon enough.

The Season 5 premiere of One Tree Hill was absolutely incredible! After providing four years of a dynamic program, the writers continue to amaze us.
The fast-forward effect works extremely well for each character's storyline. The content continues to inspire and transform it's viewers. What was most appealing was the depth of the acting. OTH's actors easily adapted to the four-year change.
The most excitement came from watching Jackson Brundage. He is an adorably talented and intelligent boy! Jackson truly captured the audience's attention.
A well-deserved thank you is extended to the writers, actors, directors, producers, staff and crew of One Tree Hill. You continue to bring us a quality television show that portrays the challenges of everyday life.
I cannot wait to see what's in store for the rest of the season. OTH is by far the BEST program featured on The CW.

okay, LOVED both episodes more than anything in the whole world and i LOVE that lucas/peyton is no more! haha, i totally think that if we cant have brooker/lucas anymore, and we're not going to unfortunately because chad and sophia just dont seem to be able to do intimate scens together which is understandable i guess, i would rather have him with lindsey who i hate to say it, but i actually like her :)
shes not bad at all, and shes a lot better with lucas than peyton, even though i LOVE peyton
for me, its just either BRUCAS or Lucas with someone totally new

What can I say? Just AWESOME!!!! I think its the beginning of the best season ever.....I agree with everything that was pointed out above....Seems like the characters have grown so much, and yet in a way not changed at all....The best part of all was lil James, He just stole my heart away....It was refreshing to see all the cast in a more mature look. All of the changes seem so real!..Great job with directing and the story....Just Hope ,the ring Lucas had was for Peyton

It was so awesome.I was scared at Nathan when he rolled into the pool.I thought he was killing himself.In EPISODE 401 AT THE END WHEN FATHER AND SON HUGGED,IT WAS SWEET. jAMIE IS CUTE.THAT PICTURE FOR HIS DAD SWEET. i CAN'T WAIT FOR THE 100TH EPISODE.i HOPE THEY HAVE LIKE 200 EPISODES.

Absolutely loved it.It was the best premiere in years. I liked the fact that Peyton and Brooke realized that Tree Hill is home, no matter where they go. That's where their family is. Jamie is so adorable and very smart. Nathan needs to realize that, even though he does not have basketball, he has his wife and his son. He also needs to realize that he has to be a role model for Jamie as well. JUST ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE PREMIERE. I am very excited to see what's to come in the upcoming episodes.

I love the whole thing aswell! Each story line was perfect! I love that everyone came back to Tree Hill!! Little Jamie was so cute and smart!

Normally, I am a fan of Lucas and Brooke together, and I usually hate when he is with Peyton, but I would MUCH RATHER have him with Peyton than his editor! It just doesn't seem right to have a new girl with him! As for the rest of the show, I was sooo happy when Nathan took Jamie out at the end of the episode! I do hope he gets rid of the long hair though!

I like the 2-hour premiere. But above all it's too sad. Nathan should play in NBA he deserve it. Well Lucas could be with Peyton because he still love her and Lindsey is a painkiller. Rest it really great. I'm looking forward to the rest of season :)

I was perfect, completely perfect! I loved everything about it, both the good things that happen to some characters and the true life lessons that others need to hear. I especially love the quotes between Brooke and Peyton's phone call, Haley taking control over her class, and the ending in the second episode between Nathan and Jamie, and the fact that in the first episode he got out of his chair for his son. Also, the walking in the pool thing and "I'm Nathan Scott..." loved it!! I loved it all really, it was just perfect for a season 5 start!!!

I was just about to blog about OTH last night and I picked that same photo of Lucas and Jamie! LOL. How adorable was that kid! And how interesting was it to see CMM being so paternal!
I've been an on and off fan of the show but this new version really sucked me in. I'll be back next week.
(and I can so relate to Lucas' "I wrote, but I deleted it all because it sucked" bit)

O my goodness! I LOVED the whole thing! It was PERFECT! I am so excited for the rest of the season and hope it keeps going for a long time! I really loved how the show kept its "feel". A lot of shows when they change the format become a completely different show, but this is still One Tree Hill!
