One Tree Hill Recap: It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding)

Haley and Jason face off

We understand that Haley has a thing for lost causes, but we were shocked when she convinced Nathan to take Quentin under his wing... and we were really blown away when Nathan asked Lucas to put him back on the b-ball team. The arrogant attitude is ridiculous and totally makes the kid undeserving of their kindness!

It’s a bit of a surprise that with all of her musical expertise, Peyton needed Haley to help her out when she and the band had artistic differences in the studio. It was more than shocking to see meek little Haley fire the band leader. With a “Later, bitches,” K-Fed (aka Jason) has left the building. But is he gone forever? We hope not -- he keeps things interesting.

So Brooke’s new Tree Hill store didn’t sell one high-dollar piece the entire opening night. In fact, the opening ranked as the biggest opening day deficit in the company’s history. But Victoria was way too happy to point it out. In fact, the woman was actually pleased seeing her kid fail for once. What kind of mom does that?

Was it our imagination or did we see a connection between Mouth and Brooke’s new assistant, Millicent? It was hilarious when Mouth stood up to his boss, Alice, in front of the entire crew and then she got totally turned on. But seriously, Mouth needs to dump the cougar and find himself a nice girl. This relationship isn't going anywhere good.

Lucas, Brooke and Peyton at the boutique opening party

What we loved: We adored Nathan’s haircut. Welcome back, hottie!

We absolutely loved that Haley decided to get back into the music thing. Sure, she’s just producing, but leave it to Haley to find the real talent in the group. Turns out it’s Mia, the keyboard player of the band, who is the one in the group with the real magic. Now will Haley be able to be a mom, a wife, a teacher and a music producer?

We loved that Lindsey took off to NYC and gave Peyton and Lucas the thumbs up to go to Brooke’s opening together. Maybe that Lindsey is just a nice person. Lucas certainly seems to love her… most of the time.

What we didn’t love: How could Coach Lucas let “Q” talk to him like he did? We hated that Quentin really put Coach in his place, and Lucas just sat there and took it -- in his own office! Then Q told off Nathan and called him a “gimpy ass has-been.”

Speaking of just taking it -- what was up with Peyton allowing Victoria to tell her that she is a parasitic loser who couldn’t cut it in the real world? It seems like these characters are getting soft as they get older. And we love that Mouth is now being considered for an on-air position... but we hate that he’s compromising his integrity to do it. Can anyone say casting couch?

We can’t decide if we loved it or hated the fact that Peyton keeps swearing that “It’s not about Lucas.” She’s confused, but who can blame her when Lucas says things like “He’s not good enough for you” when Peyton contemplates going out with the bartender.

So what about you? Did you like the episode? Did K-Fed work for you? What do you think about the gang taking Q under their wing? Does the kid deserve it? Is Haley taking on too much and allowing the nanny the perfect opportunity to move in and take over her home and family? And is Lucas looking out for Peyton as a friend... or something more?

Good episode but i miss Brucas so much !! Leyton is so annoying !
I hate Carrie she is 'too perfect' !

I usually agree with your synopsis on the episodes but I'll have to disagree a bit here.

Nothing shocked me in regards to Nathan wanting to help Quentin. They said it in the beginning how Quentin (aka the jerk who needs a thousand cans of whoop ass - badly) was a reminder of how Nathan once was. So that already foreshadowed what was to come of that. Lets just see if this jerk actually changes his way.

I'm very glad that Peyton asked Haley's help. Peyton is into the somewhat business side of things as well as the art side of things but Haley has something that Peyton doesn't. The experience gained from behind the mic. She knows what its like to be in a band, so why not? Why do something alone when u can have the opinion of others (WITH experience of how its like in the real world) that may make your new company stronger. And remember, Peyton was only an intern. She did not get to be completely *inside* the job at LA. They treated her like dirt and so she had to be a musical genius elsewhere.

About Brooke's mom... you got exactly the point. Victoria is not a mother. She is not Brooke's mother. Regardless if she is biologically, that does not mean she is acting or will act like one. Why now be one when she missed out on the most important aspects of Brooke's life - her teen years? Ah thats right, the only reason why is b/c brooke was now past HS and had a chance to make her mother rich and famous. Yep, that's why. Has nothing to do with motherhood but just exploitation of her daughter.

I HATE MOUTH'S BOSS! This whole relationship is Pointless and the total opposite of what Mouth would do. We know him as the careful and thoughtful guy. Now he's acting like Skills and just jumps into action without thinking. Um... when was he like that in the past seasons?

About Quentin... can he just die and be off this show? I hate him. Nathan was never that bad but this guy is an arrogant little prick who needs to get his butt whooped.

I think Victoria caught Peyton off guard. And she took off after the insult before any response could be said. But she should have told brooke though. I would have.

I think Lucas is trying to be a god friend to Peyton but that does not mean that all feelings are gone. He will always love her regardless if he is with Lindsey. Bartender not being good enough was a double meaning and we all know that. He is looking out for her but that doesnt mean that he wishes that he could be with Peyton. Its just complicated now.

Haley is taking too much but lets see how it plays out. She might be able to handle it. I just hope that she does not lose touch with her family. Let's see.

HATE K-FED/JASON! Did not work for me at all. He needs to leave FOR GOOD. Cannot seperate Jason and K-Fed characters at all. When I look at him, there's too much bad history there. The cast claims he was great and a nice guy but the public has not seen this side of him, just the jerk side of him... aka Jason. So it wasn't working.

This season has brought new characters, ALL of which villians to the show (except Millicent) and I think this might be taking it into overdrive. So lets see what happens.

i loved the show but i think payton and lucas should get back together because if they were together the music thing will be set because she will have lucas with her to help out

OTH season 5 is just getting juicier and juicier! I like :)

I am super duper happy that Haley is getting back into the music scene. Music was totally her life. She sings and plays the piano perfectly. I'm glad she is playing a big part in music along with Peyton as a music producer. She is going to rock the title! I hope that we'll get a chance to see Haley sing on the show. I really miss her amazing singing! I mean there is a reason why Peyton defends Haley against Jason by listing all of Haley's incredible music accomplishments in the first place!

I also love how Haley put Jason's into place! That was amazing to watch but she was also very subtle which is very cute. I actually wouldn't mind if Kevin came back, he's not bad. I don't know him personally to judge him but he's was cool. I mean the cast gave rave reviews about the man so he must be doing something right?

I also felt really sad and worried that Haley had to see Jamie's drawing of him and his psychopathic nanny. I don't know, maybe I should give the nanny a chance? But she's giving me the vibe that she's no good. So I hope she gets fired soon. Sorry! But I hate to know that she is going to be here to stay for awhile. Ugh!

As for worrying if Haley will be able to survive balancing her life and her professional life, I am sure Haley will be able to balance as a mom, a wife, a teacher and a music producer. After all, she is tutor girl-wife, I mean Brooke gave her that name for a reason!

I was also super super stoke that Nathan and Haley is going back to being Naley! They are the core of the show. The hot on-screen couple is what holds the show together. I adore and love them so much! Joy and James are always incredible together. They got that amazing "spark" that I can't get enough! Like I always say, they are the best dynamic on-screen couple ever created on television period!

Also, I love the relationship between Brooke and Victoria. Just to get this clear, I don't like Victoria because obviously she is an unfit mother but Daphne plays her so well. I just love Brooke and her mother's relationship because they bring a fresh feel to TV screens.

As for Peyton and Lucas, I think Lucas is being a little selfish to what he said to Peyton. I mean an ex-boyfriend giving tips to his ex-girlfriend that the bartender is "not good enough"? I mean, does it ever occur to him that you don't give out tips to those you dump? I mean you're just asking for it! Obviously, Lucas still has feelings for Peyton. However, I must say I don't hate Lindsey. I like her. She seems like a cool chick. A little too modest though but I'll take it. I just hope Lucas won't hurt Lindsey.

And finally, OTH better makes 12 episodes! And 12 more episodes, and then finale of season 5 and then on to season 6 and many more seasons to come! I love this show and I would love it if it stays on air forever!!!!!

I thought the episode was great, season 5 and the whole time jump seem to really be working!

Its too bad that Brooke's store wasn't more successful on the first day...I hope that she can turn it around and prove Victoria wrong. I do love Victoria's interactions with anyone though, so funny!

I am glad Haley is getting back into music in some way. Did anyone else think she had a little "mom" in her in the way she fired K-Fed? Haha I thought it was great! I'm also glad Nathan is becoming more positive. Hopefully, this is a move in the right direction for Naley, I love both of their characters! But I am somehow hesitant to believe that everything is okay between them. Haley seems reluctant to get too close to Nathan, even when he is adorable and flirty. Maybe its just easier for Haley to focus on her son and career and be in control. I may be completely wrong, but I am worried about their relationship. They haven't even kissed this season! Not that they have too, I just find it kind of telling...

Overall, LOVE the new season! I hope it lasts more than 12 episodes, the cast and writers are doing a great job!!

thank goodness hot nathan is back!!!!! i was really really missing his short hair! and i was missing his good attitude. i'm so happy he's getting back on track and him and haley are starting to be the perfect couple that i love! i definitely hope they start showing more with them being Naley again and being happy again. i thought it was soooo nice and cute that Millicent offered to buy a dress when Victoria was being a witch to Brooke. I think if Brooke had clothes like when she first started clothes over bro's like with the concert t-shirt and simpler dresses she could keep the store and do really well. i like that Lucas and Peyton can at least be friends but he should decide what he wants and not say things to lead Peyton on. overall i loved it and i love season 5 and I LOVE ONE TREE HILL!!!

cant wait for lucas and peyton to be together again now that a magic moment.

Even though Victoria can be the leader in "Worst Mom...EVER!" award, you really get to see how Brooke is...well Brooke sometimes. Brooke's wanting the approval aka love of her mother so badly, but she just can't get it from this vindictive woman who is riding on the coattails of her daughter's success.

Brooke is absolutely my favorite character on the show and I'm loving her storylines this season. She is putting all of her feelings out on the table and we're seeing her maturity.

Lucas telling Peyton that the bartender is not good enough for her? Man, that's a lot of strikes against you. You have no right, not even as a friend let alone an ex-boyfriend, to say something like that. This is definately not high school.

James/Daddy Nathan...he's looking all hot with the haircut. I hope to see more storyline between him and Haley. You know, doing more couply things. And make the nanny go away.

I am totally loving Season 5. It getting better and better with each episode.

I like it that Haley is getting back to music and that she and Nathan are getting back to being "Naley".

I loved loved the way Peyton laid into Lucas for making the, "He's not good enough for you." comment.

I'm not really digging the whole Mouth sleeping with his boss storyline. It just doesn't seem like Mouth. I think he Millicent would be good together.

Victoria is more of a cougar than Mouth's boss. She totally wanted Brooke to fail. I think she is trying to live the life she didn't have through Brooke and her company.

I also like that Nathan has taken Quentin under his wing. Hopefully he can turn this kid around. I really like that he cut his hair too.

I really like it that Nathan and Haley are getting back to the way they were. I also liked that Petyon told Lucas off for making that comment to her. It's as if he wants the best of both worlds.

I'm so mad at Lucas for doing this to Peyton. I mean, she came back for him, and he told her he was with someone new and even refused to hug her. And then she tries her best to respect is relationship with that witch Lindsey, and then he tells her the bartender is not good enough for her! I'm all for Leyton, and I have been since the beginning, but I really think Lucas needs to make up his mind. It's obvious he & Peyton are meant to be, so he needs to just break up with Lindsey already! I can't stand her, and I just want Peyton & Lucas to be happy. Is that too much to ask?

I also feel so bad for Brooke. I never really liked her, but this season I'm becoming a B. Davis fan, even though I'll always love P. Sawyer the most. Her mom is horrible. I don't know what she's going to do because you know no one in Tree Hill can afford couture fashion, but I really don't want her to go back to NYC, because she's being a really good friend to Peyton.

I'm so glad Nathan is back on track. I was so sick of that hair! Thank goodness he found a razor and a pair of scissors! :]
I'm glad Haley fired Kfed. He got on my nerves so bad. I do not understand why he was ever on the show! But I'm glad they discovered a new talant. That keyboard player girl is pretty good.

However, I'm very worried about the nanny situation. I love Jamie to death & I love Haley. I'm glad he drew that picture though to give her a reality check. I was scared this was just going to be one of those shows where the parents just dump the kids off somewhere and make the show revolve around their own lives. Hello, your child is more important than your career! But hopefully they can solve this problem.

I love one tree hill. I'm a die-hard fan. I'm just hoping season five will make it past 12 episodes. I think if they get Leyton back together, ratings would go up. I mean, have you read the message boards? We're sick of Lindsey, Mark!

But overall, I'm just pleased that this whole five years in the future concept is working. I don't care who is with who as long as OTH stays on the air. I knew they could do it. :]

The more these shows go on, the more I miss Lucas and Brooke together. I was so glad that Brooke reminded Peyton that they are no longer in high school and that Peyton shouldn't try going after Lucas while he's with Lindsey. Go B. Davis!

I loved the fact that Peyton yelled at Lucas for saying "He's not good enough for you" that was possibly my favourite part! Other than the fact that Nathan finally cut his hair! Yowza!
