Top Model Premiere: Prep School, Prettified
The fact that we remember so many of the girls auditioning for Cycle 10 must mean that they're crazier than ever this season, right? Talk about a slew of characters! Tyra and the Jays outfitted the girls in prep school attire for some pre-NYC training, and we got to meet them individually for the first time.
There was Marvita, back again after she auditioned for Cycle 9 (Jaslene deja vu, anyone?). Claire, who claims to drink her own breast milk (seriously!?). Poor circumcised Fatima from Somalia. Goofy Amy, confident Dominique, and Sarah-Silverman-esque Allison. And punky, mousy Lauren, who seems so unlike a model that she might actually go far. Usually after the premiere we have fuzzy recollections of a couple girls who stood out, but this time we remember lots of them, making us think that Tyra chose a good batch! Hey, we even LIKE a couple of the girls -- even though it was hard to find our favorites amidst all that screaming.
Some of the girls wasted no time getting into a screaming match about being ghetto... but once they found out Fatima could never have sex thanks to her circumcision as a child, all was forgiven. It may have been the editing, but these gals seemed to go from nearly punching each other out to a genuinely teary lovefest in about thirty seconds. Par for the course for Top Model, eh?
Tyra and the Jays had their fun, milking the girls' sob stories for all they were worth... and we do mean milking. Did you catch them all taking big swigs of milk after Claire left the stage? So unnecessary, so silly. We do enjoy when Tyra has a sense of humor -- the Jays definitely bring it out of her.
Elimination time was fun when Tyra sprang a surprise on the girls -- fourteen were coming to the house instead of the usual thirteen. What a relief! We were worried that one of our faves, Dominique, would be left behind, but she was lucky number fourteen.
Next week: the models move into their house and take NYC by storm! And apparently someone doesn't want it enough -- we see a preview of Tyra asking her why she's even here. Can't wait...

I LOVE THIS SHOWW CAN'T WAIT TO SEE IT ON MARCH SECOND!!!!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE TYRA LET ANOTHER GIRL COME IN BECAUSE 13 WASN'T A LUCKY NUMBER!! WELL ANWAYSS GO TYRA!! YOU ROX!

In my opinion, Marvita shouldn,t have been chosen. I mean was Tyra on anti-dpressants or something? I think Marvita will be the first one to get in a feud with the girls and end up like Eva(cycle3) and i like that she is very opinionated ,but shut up!

I'm all for Whitney. It's about time the fashion industry found out that real women have curves! I just hope she keeps her head in the game and doesn't get distracted by the usual drama. Maybe Whitney change the game. Tyra has got to try something new. If not a plus size Top Model, then maybe a show featuring all plus size models or even male models. A new year needs a new point of view. Where better to do it than New York!

These girls are so full of drama. This show should be called America's Next Top Omarosa. With that said, this is the best looking bunch in a while. Too bad pretty is and pretty does.

I think Claire will make it until the end. Maybe the breastmilk does wonders for her skin. She's my pony for sure. Most of the girls were incredibly annoying, Marvita has a butter face, the Hawaiian chick needs to keep her mouth closed "I am like so thankful for the food they give us, OMG it is just like sooo good". Whitney is gorgeous, and I think she's the only plus-sized person so far who might be able to take it to the end.
BTW they totally airbrushed that pic of Tyra for the poster, girl was looking THICK (but good) on last night's show.

OMG -- this episode was insane. I want to like Marvita, but she kind of annoys me. I HATE Lauren, Dominique, and Fatima. Stacy Ann's funny but won't go far. Claire is very different... that could work in her favor.
