Guest Post: The LA Supernatural Convention
Huge Jared fan Burgandy attended the recent Supernatural convention in Los Angeles with Jason C. and the crew, and she's got the fan's perspective on the event. Get her take on meeting Jared and some fun moments and quotes from the guys' question-and-answer session.
Without further ado, here's Burgandy!
Being an oh-so-fortunate friend of The CW Source, I got to tag along to the Los Angeles Supernatural convention. And I got to personally meet -- and get a picture with
Sadly, Jensen wasn’t able to do an interview with Jason C. and crew this time around, so I didn´t get to meet him directly. However, I did get to go to the question-and-answer session that they were both in. Suffice it to say, I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time. Before the guys came out, the conference folks put music video tributes (created by fans) to Supernatural up on screens for us to watch. They were incredible. Scenes from the show, synced up to music (classic rock, of course!) Very cool.
And then the guys came out. They were both so funny, and the audience was just in heaven. One girl had brought an action figure from Jensen’s not-yet-released movie “Ten Inch Hero”--complete with kilt and mohawk. Awesome. And girls lined up against the walls by the dozens to ask questions. Everything from “What do you do in your spare time” -- Jared plays with his dogs, Jensen golfs. Golfs! Can you believe that? -- to “What’s your favorite weapon?” Jensen has a thing for Ruby’s knife. Jared? “Demon Eyes." Hmmm… demon eyes?
There were lots of other questions, too. Know what Jared's favorite swear word is? This is a quote: “The one that start with 's' and ends with 'hit.'” People also wanted to know what part of Dean’s personality was hardest to play. His response? “Affection for his brother. Ha-ha, just kidding.” His favorite Dean characteristic though, is when Dean is snappy, sarcastic and cranky. Huh. Go figure. One person asked Jensen how he felt about doing the episode “Dream a Little Dream of Me." He said it was really tough. Confusing and challenging to play such intense emotion -- opposite himself. I can imagine.
And, maybe my favorite part of the whole thing? Jensen, imitating Jared. HY-STER-I-CAL! He stuck his hands deep in his pockets, hunched his shoulders, and, taking huge steps, loped around the stage with a super-serious expression on his face. The whole audience was laughing so hard no one could breathe. Amazing. And of course, Jared -- being Jared -- took it all completely in stride.
So, all I can say is… if you’re a Supernatural fan and you haven´t been to a convention, you are seriously missing out. My sincere thanks to The CW Source. And if you ever need an extra production assistant at an I-Love-Jared-Padalecki convention, I'm your girl.

Yeah, Jensen was great in "Dream a little dream of me"! Especially when he said the line: "You're gonna die, and this, this is what you're gonna become!" Wow..., totally awesome!

Glad to hear you had a great time at the con, Jackie! They are a lot of fun.
I went to the one in Chicago and had pics with both guys separately and they're both really great guys. Jared is very outgoing. Jensen is just so gorgeous it's unbelievable. It sort of takes your breath away when you see him up close. And he's just so polite and sweet. Sigh...
I think both guys will be at a con in Dallas in June and then in Chicago in November. Yay.

Demon eyes is what Lillith used, when she took out the police station and everyone in it.

Linda- the banners were autographed by all the guests, then auctioned off. I don't remember how much they went for, but it was around $300 or $400. Can anyone who also went remember? It was something like that...
I loved this con. I really hope I can go to another in the future!
