One Tree Hill: Comeback Central

This episode was all about comebacks. Dan tried for a comeback with his family. But ticking clock or not, Nathan's dead set on not ever allowing Dan to be part of Jamie’s life. Then, once Lucas confirms that the man is in fact dying, the brothers Scott both decide to continue to blackball their father for the last six months of his life.

Meanwhile, Dan can tell that Nathan's trying to come back to basketball and he tries to convince him to reinvent his game. But Nathan doesn’t want his dad to come back into his life as his family or his coach.

Skills and Lucas find a way for the Ravens to come back after Q’s injury. Q reinvents his game and becomes the team’s new point guard, and the rest of the talentless team learns to shoot three pointers.

Mouth comes back from a devastating first try at doing on-air sports. After a painful first try, Mouth was left tongue-tied and wet (we were having Albert Brooks in “Broadcast News” flashbacks!) and Millie knew that her man needed some support. So she headed down to the station, gave him a pep talk and he rocked his second try.

Brooke had a career comeback of her own. After arriving late and frazzled to her big presentation, she won over the uppity board by offering up a line of adorable Baby Brooke Clothes. Wonder what Victoria would say about that?

What we loved
Brooke is proving to be a pretty good mom, but baby Angie was still refusing to smile for her. Then finally, at the end of the day, when Brooke asked the kid for a sign that she was doing okay, she got the grin she’d been looking for. Aw! And Angie’s Doctor Copeland is a very hot young doc! We see a lot of potential there.

Then, Haley finally told Peyton that before the wedding, she told Lucas not to marry Lindsey. She read his manuscript and she read between the lines. Haley’s convinced that Lucas is still in love with her. But Peyton isn’t. So Peyton actually goes to NYC to plead Lucas’s case to Lindsey. Instead of being convinced, Lindsey gave the manuscript to Peyton and told her to read it so she can see for herself who Lucas really loves.

Grandpa Dan may be evil, but his grandson is about the cutest thing ever. When he found out that his grandpa gave him his favorite new jersey, he wanted to thank him right away in person, but Haley convinced her son to write his grandpa a thank-you note instead.

And last but not least, after Millie helps Mouth get through his sportscast, he tells her that he loves her via the teleprompter. It’s adorable!

What we didn’t love
When Q quit the team because he felt that without his shooting hand he had no game, Nathan told him he needed to reinvent it. Sounds familiar, right? That guidance may have originally come from Dan, but it’s obviously good advice. Nathan needs to listen to the advice he gave Q and get with the reinventing already.

Who had the most impressive comeback? What did you think about the episode?

I think that Nathan should give his dad a chance for Jamie's sake. The baby will be ok so Brooke should have faith in her baby and God. Lucas should give Peyton another chance rather than run after Lindsey, so he needs to stop acting like he doesn't still love her.

I really think that Brooke and Lucas should be together, not Peyton and Lucas. Peyton should be with Jake.

I think Dan's trying (he's still a really bad guy, though), but, the scenes with him and Jamie are really sweet.
I hope Peyton realizes the book is about her (Haley and Lindsey do!!) and stops trying to push him and Lindsey back together.

I hope peyton reads the book and tell lucas once more how she feels

I think that haley had to be very conflicted but in the end she was doing what was best for jamie. If not to keep him away from a dangerous man, then to keep him away from heart break. Think about it...If dan really is dying, jamie would get close to him and then he would die. Who would want to put their child through that? Keeping jamie away from dan will save him the deep heartache of losing a loved one.

i hope peyton says that the book was somewhat about her but was more about brooke cuase lucas and brook need to be together.. i can't stand peyton she has no use on the show other than lucas!

I loved this episode and I think Haley was right to throw away Jamie's thank you note. He's way too young to understand the complete situation and if he had be older, I think things would have worked out differently but right now, she's protecting her son from the heartache of the truth. It was obvious that Haley was having a hard time making that decision and you could tell her heart was breaking for Jamie. I really support her on what she did; it's a sucky situation and in reality I don't think anyone truly wins, but she did what was best for her son.
