Now there's a time limit for getting over your Mother's death!....OMG! Especially when you feel guilty about it. Peyton's mother was on her way to pick her up from school.
Seriously, that's ridiculous to say - you never get over the loss of your mother. That's the most important person in a child's life. I was offended by those remarks. You should be ashamed!

You guys do a fabulous job on the podcasts! I really really enjoy them, sometimes more than the episodes themselves! (The boring ones, that is. Because it's hard not to love One Tree Hill and Gossip Girl. I don't watch ANTM much... but sometimes I listen to those too, just to hear your thoughts!)

I've been watching the 1st season for the first time this week and even though I'm ahead of how many you have podcasted for, I feel like I'm watching with you guys. I see certain scenes and think, "they're going to love this" or "ooh, I wonder what they're going to say to that!"

So thanks for doing such a great job!

I agreed with almost everything you said except i didn't totally agree about the peyton storyline.

I liked the storyline and I thought it was real, I mean her mom died and I think every year on that date it hits her all over again. When you are mourning your mom I don't think you are thinking about who else might get hurt and I don't even think you really realize that someone else could get hurt.

However, she was all about Peyton. That is the one thing I hate about Peyton. whenever she has a big problem no one else's problems matter or at least not as much. (she has gotten way better though and I don't really see it in season 5) Nathan was trying to open up to peyton and she wouldn't listen. I realize he was a jerk but everyone has problems and no matter how big or small those problems are important to the person and you shouldn't dismiss that.

hahaha Mia sounds hammered. but she cracks me up. i liked it nicely done i'm glad you're going back and watching because season 1 was definitely my favorite. i can't wait till the two who haven't watched see the Naley storey like develop it's absolutly my favorite part of the show. and this season has some hilarious episodes coming up (particularly when they go on an away game to Pinkerington) so i can't wait to hear that one. keep up the good work!!

nathan is doing it all to get on lucas's nerves but he's also become friends with haley so he doesn't want to hurt her.

when he first implemented his plan he thought he could just annoy lucas without having an emotional connection with haley but things changed. thats the effect haley has on people.

lucas is annoyed with haley cos dan and nathan always do things to hurt him and his family and he doesn't want haley to team up with them. also he doesn't want haley to get hurt in the process of helping nathan.

haley does seem naive but she wants to help lucas and afterwards nathan too. she thinks by tutoring nathan her friend will stop being bullied and that kinda works cos nathan stops hurting lucas. well in front of haley, at the least.

I agreed with pretty much everything you were saying. Except Peyton loosing her mom so many years ago. I think that would affect anyone!!! Especially a young teenage girl who is very conflicted and has no real stable role models in her life. I mean her mom is dead and he dad is always on the job.

I can't wait for you to continue watching the rest of the seasons. It only gets better from here!

I second the more Brooke motion! Good thing we're getting tons of her now! And, she's not the bad friend, as some people like to claim, Peyton's the one that treats everyone else like crap which was more than obvious in the 5 episodes you guys just saw. She supposedly gets better (which Mark said was intentional so that the audience would stop hating her) but even then she was hooking up with her bff's bf so I don't really see how that's "better"...but apparently some people think that that makes for a good friend, and in that case, I hope those are the kinds of friends they get =) And things really don't change in season 4, Peyton continues being a bad friend. But don't watke my word for it, you can watch and decide for yourself.

And yea, I understand her being hurt that day, but what is she trying to do, kill someone else's mother? She's allowed to be hurt but what she's doing couldn't be justified even if her mother had just died, let alone years ago when she was a child.

um i lk really enjoy u guys going back and doing season one but i am sooo confused!!!
on ur podcast for the search for something more, yall say the nxt episode ur going to watch is episode 9... then ur nxt podcast comes out for episode 5... you jumped from episode 4 to eight then to five...?
im sooo lost!! help if u can!!

As always I love to hear your thoughts. This episode from what I can remember is a good one because we finally realize just how much Peyton's mothers death has affected her life and personality. I agree that it was completely wrong for her to endanger other lifes because she was having a bad week, but from my perspective 100 and some episodes of watching Peyton I think I can understand that she has a life no one would wish for. I can't wait for you all to keep watching and see how everything changes this season.

Oh and Sarah; can you please continue saying "eeeeeeeevil" in every podcast? I love it, it's hilarious. Your impressions also cracks me up. And your laughter is awesome, Mia!

I actually liked that Peyton storyline. I think the storyline made sense at the end when she told Lucas that her mom ran one light and it killed her mom but Peyton runs them all the time and nothing happens.

Yah she put other peoples life in danger but most of TH was at the basketball game anyway. lol.

I loved her lined to Whitey. "are you making a reservation." That was great.

Yes dan is very eeeevil. LOL. He really believed that the game was all about him.

I think Nathan is into Haley and he is fascinated by her, but she still hasn't changed his mind about the plan of ruining Lucas. He likes her, at least a little, but not enough to stop the plan. When he gave her the hug, I think it was genuine, but once he saw Lucas there, he thought wth might as well make the most of it.

I love the basketball scenes. I actually miss the basketball in s5.

And if you guys think that line Dan said to Deb is bad, just wait. Its nothing compared to what is going to come.

One last thing... I don't find it suprising at all that Nathan didn't know it was the anniversary if peyton's mom's death. A few episodes back he told Peyton "Your room looks different" and she said "I took my sketches down" and he said "what sketches?" So ya Nathan was pretty oblivious to Peyton.

Anyways great podcast.

I think that Nathan is into Haley when no one is around but if Lucas is around he takes the opportunity to push his buttons. I can't wait till you guys get to episode 8 of season 1. Love the podcast. Can't wait till next weeks.

I also think Peyton acted this way because her dad wasn't there because she said her dad couldn't be there this year so she had no one to support her. And yea Dan was like total evil this episode. I agree with you guys Lucas needs to just get over it. He is kinda getting annoying. Totally agree with you guys we need more Brooke. And I was surprised that Brooke never knew about Peyton's mum dying because she's been her friend for like 10 years. Oh and Mia I am so with you I like being surprised I hate spoilers so much. Can't wait to hear next weeks podcast it's one of my fave eps from season 1.

I don't know, but I liked that Peyton plot. She seems like a girl going through a tough time and on the anniversary of her mom's death, she remembers and still blames herself for it.

I feel like Nathan has a thing for Haley, but that he also likes to use his new connection to her to get at Lucas. I think it's a little of both.

JESUS CHRIST you guys are wasted LMAO. I have to agree Peyton being selfish about the red light stuff, but can you really blame her for still feeling affected by her moms death. I'm 23 my uncle died when i was 8 and I still feel affected by it.

Nathan was being slimy when he hugged Haley point blank and Haley was just naive enough to think he was genuine. Thank god their was no Brooke LOL she sort of deserve Peyton's lashing She's suppose to ve her BFF and she cant remember her own friends moms death and in S4 Brooke only gets worse sadly on that.
