I also thik that the conversation between lucas and peyton in her office was important. lucas said to her its only a dream right, she responded its my dream. I think that meant something to lucas. its possible they may get back together. I'm not sure if lucas will take her to vegas and I don't think lucas will actually get married in vegas without his family and friends. the relationship between brook and lucas is just a friendship thing even if she still have feelings for him, you can tell from the last conversation where she gave him the purple monkey. Brook will not put herself in that position again (one which was filled with lots of insecurity). its sad what happen to Dan but I bet he will still be a bad guy after all that. who do you think the mystery guy peyton and mia is talking about, did pysco derek get out of jail or is it peyton's real father or another family member?

I totally agree with you guys about the Nathan and Jamie training scenes. I love the whole phone ring thing you guys did with the Lucas. Lindsey situation. Sarah I always crack up laughing when you mention Lucas' squinting. And you guys are free to let loose because Jackie isn't there to defend anyone. and by all means let loose. lol Satah I love you singing the Stacie's mum song but for Nathan. lol and the zip sound you made for Deb. hehe And yea Jamie looks so cute with the mohawk. I also love the way you guys advertise movies or tv shows. Sarah I take it that you don't really like girl scouts. lol I also think that Brooke and Lucas are just friends although I am a huge Brucas fan I just don't see it happening :( Sarah the only thing I disagree with you on is about Mouth leaving. I mean how can you not lik Mouth? Mia I love the cliffhanger so I agree with you it was awesome but it's obviously gonna be Peyton I think. Personally I hope that Dan cheat death again. It's like Dan is in his own final destination film. Because not to give away spoilers but he's done it a couple of times. I hope Sarah I hope you prevail on your quest for the supernatural podcast because I love supernatural not as much as I love One Tree Hill of course. lol I hope you guys do more than one season 1 podcast a week because like I said before you guys are goona take forever to get through them all.

i reckon at the start of s6, theyll reply the phone calls. peytons will be from mia about the guy that knew ellie - her dad i bet, brookes will be from the adoption people to say that angie got home ok and lindsays will be from the call that she was waiting for. THEN lucas will ring one of them, maybe peyton and ask her to go to vegas. and she might be like 'ive just found out where my dad is' and then she'll have to go, and lucas will be pissed that shes rejected him again.

Loved the last episode! I don't like Lindsey, and I think Brucas are just friends (good friends), I really can't see them in a relationship again. So I really hope Luke was calling Peyton! I want them back together.

Someone said that Peyton shouldn't have written over the names of everybody on the river court. Yeah, I think the names were pretty much gone before she did that. It's been 4 years. In the first episode of this season they were barely seen and now it's like 6 months later sooo... I think her act was kind of too much cos she did say she would let him go. But I did think I was kind of sweet also. She is an artist and she expresses her feelings through her art. I kind of liked her big "I will always love you" poster:)

It's Peyton. The epic love will finally be back on track.

I just wanted to say the the season finale was awesome. I was completely amazed! Lucas could of called anyone of the girls. Lindsay because he still loves her, Peyton because he always has loved her, and Brooke because they have been so close the last few episodes. I totally think he called Peyton though. After all the angst they have been through. Phenomenal job writers. I can't wait to see what happens next season!

Listening to you guys was so funny.....really, because of how OTH works, how it really in an intertwined story, you honestly can't cover it properly until you have seen all of the episodes. I saw some episodes last year, and my perception of them is totally different now that I have seen the whole series. (I watched the whole thing while S5 was on, so in a span of about 4 months I saw S1-5.) I would be curious to hear new podcasts on S5 after you have the whole backstory. I guess if I was new to the series still, I may see things your way, but knowing what I do, I see things totally different. Thanks for doing the podcasts. I look forward to the ones from the beginning. I think it will be interesting to see if your thoughts on how things go changes. Thanks so much for the hard work!

PS...I was disappointed that you totally didn't cover Lucas and Peyton's conversation in her office. That really was instrumental in the 3-way decision for who the LV trip was for...

Not going to add much except that without Jackie you two are even more hilarious. But I do miss Jackie ... she was like my voice in these podcasts .. always trying to find reason, contradiction or just trying to defend a character. You could totally parallel this finale with season three's finale. With a car crash and Lucas surrounded by possibilities. This finale with Lucas I think is more of a cheap shot but it's so OTH. I liked it.
I really wanna hear another the next season 1 podcast so keep'em coming.

i think if you watch all 4 previous seasons, you will see that the BL relationship is very strong and is yet to fade away. also, mark previously has built one relationship all season then creates a big twist in the next season. just my opinion, keeping the BL hope!

why is this epiode not on itunes?

I liked the podcast this week. Everyone already seems to have corrected the Love Song/Disintegration mix up as well as the Tric/Karen/Lucas/Peyton thing so I'll skip my 2 cents on that.

I loved the finale. In true OTH fashion, Mark and Co. left us with one heck of a cliff hanger and while it might be cheesy or predictable I think it's one of the best ones they've had. I do have to say that I'm dissappointed that, yet again, we have to wait till September to see if Dan lives through, yet another, near death experience. Season 1 it was the heart attack, Season 2 it was the dealership fire and now Season 5 is being hit by a car. Plus the Annual Tree Hill Car Accident is getting old. You'll see what I mean once you get through all the seasons.
But all in all it was a great finale and I know I'm gonna go through withdrawl durring these next 4 months!!

I forgot to mention out of the whole 47 minutes you didn’t tell us what you guys think of Joy/Haleys new song!! I love it and I'm sure most people do!! Download it now on cdbaby or wait till itunes eventually puts it up!

As always I loved the podcast! I realize that you had a little confusion without Jackie to sort out the OTH history, but you two are pretty OTH smart and can make very good guesses.

The only flaw I saw in the whole (47 minute!!!) podcast was that you completely overlooked the last Leyton scene. Their scene was by far the their most real scene all season. I was looking forward to hearing what you had to say about it. Bummer! Lucas admitting that it is hard to see Peyton and that he in fact does not hate her. And Peyton confessing that she dreams of lucas asking her to marry him again. Awww so amazing!

Other than that the podcast was very good! And I think that Mia is right... sometimes I do like being manipulate ... JK... lol

The best podcast of all, spend the 47 minutes laughing, I agree with everything with what I said, my brother who was watching television,wonder if I was crazy and I says no, I am listening to something fun ...

I almost fall off the chair when I was listening to the dream of Mia with Dan, I think Mia is your dream that you are going to go into an appointment with Paul (Dan) to eat sushi.

One thing that did not comment, was the coda of epi 518, the wonderful voice of Bethany joy was the best thing about epi ...

I believe you have already been told this, but Karen co-owns clib Tric with Deb (or did originally, now who knows). The bar is there, so I would think he gets like free or reduced drinks there, and then Peyton's office is over on the side.
Dan became mayor... I want to say in Season 2, and then in 3 he kills Keith and in 4 goes to jail.

I hate the phone thing, not because we don't know, but because it was completely given away in the previews. Makes me angry. I want it to be Brooke, and the more I think about it the more I think it will turn out to be Brooke. 1) She'll be unexpected. 2) Like (I think) Mia said, Lindsey is in New York. 3) If it's Peyton, then that would just be too weird and too real. 4) It would finally legitimize all those glances and hints Brooke has been throwing at her secretly wishing her life had worked out so that she was with Lucas. Whether or not she loves him like a husband, I don't know. Do I think Lucas will marry anyone from this, regardless of who he calls? I doubt it.

The Peyton thing with Ellie, Mia totally has met Peyton's dad. How, I don't know, but she did. Either that or non-psycho Derek, her brother, but I'm going birth dad. We've never seen him and there seems to be a lot of long-running Peyton stories that harken back to her being all adopted and weirdly parentless. But then again, something similiar was used over the break. But my money is on, say, first four or five eps, there's going to be a nice story-arc with Peyton and her birth father.

Dan getting hit by a car was awesome. About him, I totally think that it is perfect now- that he is going to get scraped off the pavement in front of the hospital, stiched up, new heart slapped in him because they said they have six hours to place it, and all is "well". That was so great, though. If they were going to spoil the Lucas call, they should have went to black with Dan.

Mouth leaving I would be upset about. And what happened to Milicent working for Brooke? Didn't she say the closest C over B store to Omaha was the Tree Hill one? She's just quitting and moving? Not smart. I doubt he is actually going to go. And Jackson at the beginning with Gavin Degraw was like a gift from Mark and everyone to the fans. I loved it more than words. Also, it kind of upset me that Haley and Nathan was all tied up in a nice package at the end. He made her heart race and everything was great. Boring. And now Nathan is going to get all upset over this with Dan and Haley'll have to deal with it and they'll fight again. I hope not. Oh wait, maybe I have it! Lucas will wake up in Vegas with whoever and get a call from Nathan or Haley that Dan was hit by a car and the heart and all that and he'll feel he has to go back like he did when he moved with Keith to Charlotte- to be there for Nathan and just because he is his father.

Anyway, this is super long. I didn't like this finale at all. We didn't even get a regular sweeps cliffhanger this year, so they had all this time to come up with something to wow us and this was just sub-par for what I have come to expect from them. Least favorite finale of the series. Hopefully first episode next season will be amazing and make up for it.

Cue the finale - Brooke gives Lucas the purple monkey... and he will LOVE the girl who gives it to him. Although I already think Lucas still has feelings for Brooke anyway. And I think Brooke is hiding feelings for Lucas as well.

Can't wait until you podcast seasons 2 and 3 especially. Brucas wanting each other but doing nothing because they think the other person isn't interested --- beautiful!

Hee! No, I wasn't yelling at people. I'm a freelancer, and I was covering a conference, so I was on my feet and talking (loudly) to people for 8 hours a day for four days straight. Add in that I already had a cold and I was completely exhausted, and my voice was shot. We're lucky we did the podcasts last night, because my voice is totally gone today.

Thanks for the explanations on the club. It's very confusing. And of course, you're all correct about Lovesong -- one of the all time great Cure songs. I can't believe I didn't pick up on that.

And yes, I am very picky. I like to think it's part of my charm...

Mia you rock too! You were hilarious this podcast especially when Sarah made that moist comment and you were like "I'm not wearing any!" I started dying with laughter, that was so funny.

I agree with Sarah, I hated the ending of the finale because it made me pissed of because we didn't see it but it was done well. Mark did a good job with these past two episodes!

About the club thing, it was in Deb's name first but then Dan got it from Deb to give to Karen so now I guess it's Karen Club and Peyton renting it.

I can't wait to see who Lucas picks, if it was Brooke, I agree with Mia it would be more of a joke but if it was Lindsey it would be an actual marriage and I don't know about Peyton. I don't really try to make sense of Leyton, it give me headaches.

Clarification 1: Karen owns the bar. It used to be a nightclub called TRIC (still is). Karen and that Deb were business partners in it. It was Karen’s idea (inspired by Peyton and her desire for a club night for teens like in season 1, episode 10) and Deb invested in because she “believed” in Karen. My guess is that they are renting it out to whoever is controlling the bar right now, and that one space is being rented out to Peyton.

Clarification 2: I think Lucas was hallucinating or something, lol. That’s why he was wearing Hawaiian clothes, and then he was shirtless, and then he had a dog and stuff.

I didn’t notice any talk of heart, lol. You are very picky Sarah!

Here’s what I noticed about Brucas. Brooke shows signs of wanting Lucas when he’s not around. But when he’s around, she seems like his best friend. I feel that Lucas is showing more signs of interest when she’s around. The way he looked at her and said “I love you too” was a tad on the romantic side if you ask me. Brooke has become amazing at hiding her feelings for Lucas. When you start watching season 1’s end, season 2, and season 3’s start, you will see it. When you see her decision in season 4 to let Lucas go because she loved him, but felt he belonged with Peyton, you will see how she hides her feelings. It becomes more evident towards the end of season 4. At times, it seems like she wants nothing to do with him, but that’s to force him to stop chasing her and move on to Peyton. At times, it seems like she only cares for him as friends (especially season 2), and the same with him. But it turns out they’re hiding things, Brooke in fear of getting her heart broken by Leyton again and because she feels she’s in Leyton’s way, and Lucas because he feels she’s not interested.

As for Lindsey, I got the impression that she was pregnant! The girl on the other line said “did you tell him” and Lindsey quickly said “no, bye” and hung up. And I thought her confession of “of course I miss you… it’s all I do” was very sad and sweet.

Peyton’s dream about Lucas is also sad. If you notice a pattern in the season, she’s always too late in her decision that she wants what Lucas wants. He’s always already moved on by the time she realizes she wants him. But sadly, that doesn’t stop her from going after him anyway. This is the root of my hatred for Leyton. No matter how “cute” or whatever they may be, I will never think they are meant to be or that they should be. I will NEVER accept them.

Near the end, I was yelling at Dan to look behind him. I had a feeling something was coming to hit him!

SOOO – THE BIG QUESTION! WHO DID LUCAS CALL? My Answer – Lindsey. Asking Brooke for marriage would be too random right now, unless it’s a joke with Brooke like Mia said. However, I do see a buildup with Brucas again, and I would go so far as to say that their buried feelings may resurface soon, especially if Lucas gets back together with Peyton… Brooke may get nostalgic and may not hide her feelings as well. I don’t see it as being Peyton. I think he thinks being with Peyton or being around Peyton brings him too great of heartache. And when he said “it’s just a dream” and she said “it’s my dream,” it kind of felt like a goodbye to me more than a “let’s get back together.” Lindsey confessed on the phone that she wasn’t over him and lied to him about seeing someone. The way Lucas made the phone call was more of a “this is your last chance” than a marriage proposal. And I don’t think Lucas would say it that way to Peyton or Brooke. But since he’s been recently fighting for Lindsey and she has been denying her feelings, but suddenly, she admits them, I guess this is his way of saying “you admitted it, and I have never denied it… this is your final chance. Let’s do it now… it’s now or never.”

I can’t wait until September 1st!

good to hear your voice again. And I have to say, Sarah, I'm totally on your side. Hate the cliffhanger with Lucas on the phone. I really hated it!!! Was just lame and really the worst cliffhanger the show ever had!
By the way, I hope it wasn't one of these three girls, because I just would feel sorry for them. Lucas doesn't know what he wants for years now, and then he wants to get married now?!?
And Sarah ... I WOULD LOVE IT, IF THERE IS A PODCAST FOR "SUPERNATURAL" IN THE MAKING. That would be just soooo cool!

I had been checking itunes everyday (okay, maybe more than once) and am so glad to finally hear you guys' take on the last two episodes!

I totally agree with Brooke and Lucas being over the relationship and just being friends. And I'm not even really a Leyton fan or anything (Actually I think I might be one of the only big OTH fans who is not a diehard Brucas or Leytoner).I know there will be a lot of people who disagree on that one, but I thought you guys got it exactly right.

I think it will be either Brooke or Peyton on the phone, definitely not Lindsey. I like your idea that Lucas could be just joking around with Brooke, I hadn't even considered that it might be her, but that totally makes sense. I think that would be a pretty cheap cliffhanger, though, because they leave you thinking that Lucas will finally make up his mind and choose who he wants to be with, but whatever... I originally thought that he was calling Peyton to actually get married, but that just seemed to fit too nicely. If they are going to get back together, I think it will take more time than an over-the-phone vegas wedding proposal, but that's just my opinion...

Oh, and I don't think Dan really changed. He has had so many supposed 'redemptions' before, it might be true this time, but I think it's hard to believe. He's about to smoother a priest or minister or whatever, but later that day he decides to turn nice and then gets hit by a car as the ultimate irony. I definitely hope he lives, which of course he will, but I have a hard time believing that he really changed and even if he did I don't think anyone in Tree Hill will believe it.

One small correction - the mural was supposed to be a comet, I think, but the lyrics around it are to the Cure song called 'Love Song,' from the album Disintegration, not a song named Disintegration. Not that it really matters that much, but I thought I'd just let you know.
