imagin a half of a circle,.it will be complete and turn to a whole circle by another half of the circle,they both are exactly like eachother,but they complete eachother too.that's just a simple example of it.so,soulmates CAN complete eachother.and maybe your true love is your soulmate and maybe not,there is not a rule about it.but i think when your true love is your soulmate too,that's the most beautiful option.
and about brook's quote"lucas scott was the one boy that i would have lost it all for"i already explained this in my last comment,it seems you didnt notice it.i say it again,i think she meant she still havent find a guy as good as lucas.she still havent find a guy that she would have lost it all for again,like she did with lucas,and that she is still waiting for such a guy.and about the mouth thing,it is gigi who will come back and create drama for mouth and millicent.i read this in spoilers,but somewhere els i also read that rachel will be in season 6 too,but then again who knows.i guess we have to wait a few days and see,not just about this one,we are gonna find out about lucas and whom he is gonna call and marry,and whether dan is dead or not and so many other things,im excited about season 6 too!

Ok, so i've read what Anna has to say and I will admit, she brings up some valid points, but I think I can counteract some of them.

Yes, you will always see a connection, a deep connection between Lucus and Peyton. Infact, I do think they're soulmates. However, I do believe their is a difference between being soulmates and being the "one" for eachother. I think it comes down to a simple breakdown of Lucus' character.

Haley = best Friend. Definition of best friend means the person who grew up with you, knows you best, and is honestly the one person you know you can always count on, no matter what, to forgive you and always have your back.

Peyton = Soulmates. Soulmates is defined as the person who is most like you. Infact, if you look in a mirror or replaced bodies with eachother, the attitudes and personalities would be the same.

Brooke - True love always. The definition equals out to the one person who throughout time always holds that special place in your life, the one you've gone through so much with, your history, the one you fight for, the one who you see as you future. The one where even though people change, love remains the same.

Now sometimes, soulmates and best friends are one in the same i.e. Joey and Dawson. And your best friend can be your true love, i.e. Ross and Rachel. But never, EVER, is your soulmate the same as your lover.

Why can that be you ask? Real simple fact, we crave for a connection that is deep that it can overcome everything and anything, a yearning for something different, something that completes us. Now, I ask you, if the person you are meant to be with is EXACTLY like you, how can this person complete you?

Now, the point made about Brooke not loving Lucus that way is incorrect. Infact, if it was correct, why would she have said, "Lucus Scott was the one boy that I would have lost it all for." Plus she's just as upset about Lucus marrying Lindsey as Peyton was, she just showed a different way to show it. Proof in point. Karen returns to tell both girls that you may not get what you want in life, but what makes you stronger is finding something else that helps fill that void, and Brooke mentions a baby. Do you people honestly think it was a coincindence that Brooke gets baby angie after Lucus' almost wedding. Now i know the argument is going to be that she wanted that beforehand, but people, come on, this is television, do you really think that the timing of when we found out about this wasn't a little bit of foreshadowing about insecurities. You have to understand Brooke feels like Lucus is bound to Peyton forever, and they are in a way. This is her insecurity of thinking that he might not think of her the same way. She says so herself, and this is what Lucus is going to have to show her, is that she wants him to fight for her, show her she's the one, and we got a whole new season to see how this develops.

Ok, with the writing, that's a very good point you made about the writing, and I will agree, but come on, Him and Brooke were on the outs at that point, everyone knows it, why do you think he would use the words "for now she is" So even though his second passion is the writing, his writing always begins with a thought of Brooke. After all both Brooke Davis and Lucus Scott are going to change he world someday and they don't even know it. And it looks like they are in their ways.

Ok, and also with this comet angle. People are taking the comet way too literally. to quote Lucus, so what, Peyton drives a comet, why does everyone assume it's about Peyton. Last time I checked, Brooke returns the same time Peyton does, the rest of the book states the comet returns shows that his life has meaning. Why does it have to be Peyton? i find it way too ironic that both girls always happen to return at the same time, and we are to automatically assume it's about Peyton. Wish we knew more about that damn book. lol

My final thought is the dreams come true angle. Lucus claims to both girls he wants them their when his dreams come true. First Brooke then Peyton. But those are his words, and let's be honest, Lucas has no clue what he wants, it 's another underlying issue in the show. But, the facts show that the one common tread is that Brooke is ACTUALLY the one there when all his dreams come true.

I guess this shows season 6 is gonna be interesting.

Ps: I know this is not the subject to write about this, but does anyone else think rachel is coming back, and if she does, it's gonna create drama for Mouth and Millicent? There are many other things to focus on in this show. LOL

OK, first, let me say that I don't happen to have a pre-occupation with either BL or LP. What I can say is that I have re-watched the whole series three times in the last few months. The very first time I saw the series, I thought it was obvious LP were meant for each other. But the more I see it, the more I question that. It almost seems like their initial attraction was a distraction from the upcoming Brucas relationship.

The thing that drives me crazy about all of it is that whenever Lucas is "fair game" Peyton doesn't seem to give a care. It's as soon as he's with someone (Brooke, Lindsay) that she chases him. S1, he's taken, she goes for it. S2, he's single, she wants Jake. S3, he's with Brooke, she kisses him. S5, he's about to marry Lindsay, and she kisses him again. The only exception is S4, and that was also after she had told him she loved him (not once, but twice - library school shooting, and in her room). Brooke, on the other hand, has never resorted to cheating or pining after taken men (unless you count Chris Keller). So in that regard I root for Brooke to simply get her way, whatever it is.

I also keep reading about "Lucas wrote this" and "Lucas said that." When has his word ever been final? I don't believe a word he writes or says about anyone. When he actually backs up his words, let me know.

So as of right now, I'm actually more interested in Lindsay, because she seems to be "what he wants," at least at the moment, lol. Either way, the show has more going for it than LP, BL, or LL, so just end it already!

to sam,the perdon who wrote last comment,i should say i really liked the first half of your comment and i think what you said about season 1,season 2,and half of season 3 was right,but about the rest im not so sure.brook and lucas both admitted in front of brook's and rachel's house that what they had wasnt true love,and even before she admitted to rachel that she doesnt have have feelings for lucas anymore,so its not just about her insecurities about leyton.and about the hotel room in texas,yeah it was hard for her,because its hard for a girl to watch her ex having sex with someon els,especially almost not so long after their break up,wether she still have feelings for her ex or not,and she was more upset because she couldnt find the love she wantedand she was upet because her last few relationships failed.her exact words,not mine.(when she was talking to chris keller)and about the book thing,lucas started writting before the break up with brook,proof:one of the first sentences of his book was:brook daivis is my girlfriend,at least for now she is.and he started writting neither for brook or peyton,he started writting because it was his second passion in life and he admitted that he couldnt play basketball any longer.but about the second book,he definitely wrote because of peyton,if not,why would he refer to the comet thing???and in season 5 when brook said that about lucas,i think she maent she couldnt fimd a guy as good as lucas and that she is waiting and searching for the right person.but anyway i liked the reasoning thing about your comment.but i think brook definitely moved on an is waiting for the ONE.and in season 4 i definitelysaw a deep love between lucas and peyton,i dont think anyone acn deny it.what brook thinks is right,he always shares a deeper connection with peyton.and i think one of these two things will happen in season 6:

Ok, first of let me explain that the very first episode I ever saw of One Tree Hill happened to be last season when I saw Peyton reject Lucus' proposal. Then I saw him meet up with Brooke and even though they didn't get together, I saw an amazing chemistry there and wondered what ever happened between the two of them so I decided to buy all the dvd's for everyone season and figure out this whole Brucus v. Leyton thing for myself before making a decision.

Ok, so onto the arguement...

Season 1 - Lucus and Peyton definately had this "tortured" chemistry thing where it was obvious they kinda were pining for eachother, and Brooke was a low class flirt who really was a little shallow and immature. Eventually Lucus got with Brooke but you always had a feeling that things wouldn't work out because of this attraction Lucus and Peyton shared and the differences that brucus had and the insecurities she felt with him. Her exact words were that she didn't feel like she was enough for him back then. The only good part about Brucus at that point in time was the fact that Brooke showed Lucus that he doesn't have to be "tortured" all the time. So eventually, with all the sneaking going on, Peyton and Lucus kinda get together. However, I also got the feeling that wasn't gonna be the end all because as nice as it was, there was just wasn't enough to go on, and they eventually decided to part ways when Lucus left. Infact when Lucus left, both Peyton and Brooke infact hated Lucus for leaving, so all those feeling went away. So the edge for season one goes to Leyton. Now...

Season 2 - Boy did this show take a drastic turn. Coming into this season, I have to say I felt a deeper connection with Leyton. However, I witnessed a drastic change in terms of the personality of Brooke. She stopped being the party girl and became more responsible and you witnessed a completely different girl. infact, I believe Mouth said it best in season 2 that the one thing Lucus and Brooke both shared is that they both have the same big heart. That fact cannot be lost, and I'll explain why later. The main point shared throughout all of season two was the "search" for love. deep, true, true love always love. The season can be summed up best in the finale with one simple quote. "Shaw once wrote that Gaining and Losing one's heart desire is considered tragic" That was the emphesis of the whole season. The search and lost of one's heart's desire and how each character viewed it. Ok, so let's look at how things went, when we left off, you had the feeling that Leyton would still have underlying issues. However, neither Lucus or Peyton searched for eachother as their heart's desire. Instead, Peyton found love in Jake and lost Jake at the same time. Therefore tragic, but completely worth it in peyton's eyes because she got the one thing she wished for in this world most and that was to find love. And Lucus was to be credited for that because he brough jake back into Peyton's life. Right there, you saw a dramatic shift in how they viewed eachother. Lucus didn't crave Peyton or vice versa. He was there to "save her" when she needs to be saved. He will always be there to save her when she needs to be saved. Just like he will always be there to save Haley when she needs to be saved. Proof in that, he leaves to New York and makes Haley realize that the music means nothing without Nathan and her true, real friends. Does that mean romance for Lucus and Haley? No, so why does everyone assume it needs to be with Peyton? Further, Lucus' search for one's heart desire does not lead him towards Peyton, after witnessing a change in Brooke, his heart's desire leads him towards Brooke. Fact 1, Lucus tells Anna that there's a girl from his past that he screwed up with that he needs to find because he feels like she's slipping away and he has to tell her how he feels. Even Anna, who was not around during the whole original love triangle, realizes that he's talking about Brooke, not Peyton. Fact 2, when Brooke is leaving for Cali, Lucus convinces his mom to let her move in, which once again, helps change brooke's character by showing her a "real mother." He tells her he's not ready to lose the girl behind the red door and she was not ready to be lost. Season 2 was about actually developing a chemistry between a new Brooke and Lucus, which took the whole season, and let's be honest here, everyone could see it. However, toward the end, a big stab that brough Brooke back to her insecurities were the letters she found of Peyton. That put her guard up again which is why she was afraid to be with Lucus even though Peyton told her it was ok. Because she was scared to let Lucus back in because the good guys lie to get into your heart. Her words not mine. So he confesses his love to her, and we are left wondering if Brucus is meant to be. Keep in the mind, the general point of the story shifts from two brothers to their relationships with their friends. So season 2 goes to brucus. Which brings us into season 3.....

Season 3 - By far and away the best season on the show. There was so many twists and turns. first fact against Leyton, guys come on, they had all summer to rekindle a romance and Lucus still wanted Brooke, and showed no interest in Peyton all season. We return to see that Brooke wrote all these love notes to Lucus, once again showing the maturity of Brooke, but her insecurities about Peyton and Lucus, forced her not to send them. So Lucus fights for her. As a guy, you have no idea how hard it is for a guy to truly fight for her, but if you feel it's worth it, you do. He put up with all the crap she gave him about the non-exclusive thing, to sleeping with Chris, and in the end, the best scene of all time, when Brooke finally confesses her love to Lucus, he forgives her, like she forgives him for everything, and they admit they love eachother. The first time either one of them admitted anything to that nature. Their love seemed so genuine and real and it seemed perfect. However, Peyton was going through a bad time in her life and she needed Lucus and Lucus was there for her. It was hard for Brooke but she had to see if she could trust Lucus and Peyton had shown no interest in Luke for a while so she had the feeling that her best friend was over him. It seemed to be going great until Keith dies. We see a change in Lucus and as much as Brooke tries to get in to save him, no one can. Not even Haley. He needs to go through this alone, that's just Lucus' tortured personality. Eventually, he breaks through until we get toward the end where Peyton realizes that she might have feeling for Lucus again. Now, the biggest issue with this is that she tells Brooke. Brooke's biggest fear in the world is that Lucus is not over Peyton which is the underlying story. That brings out all of Brooke's insecurities about her relationship with Lucus. Remember, she has a hard time with this major issue and it's a big issues. it's the same issue Pacey always wrestled with Dawson and Joey until the very end. Soul mates vs. true love always. The end of this season is very key, Peyton asks Brooke is she really loves Lucus. Brooke doesn't give an answer. But the last scene between the two of them, Brooke says to Peyton, "You know, you asked me if I love Lucus, and I have my answer, but you don't deserve to hear it." You figure out her answer in later seasons, but she definately feels betrayed by Peyton for even questioning her feeling for Lucus because to be honest at this point in time it's not her place. So season 3 goes to Brucus. Which leads us to season 4....

Season 4 - Ok, to my previous question is yes, and I believe she realizes that but by the time she lets all the anger and hate go, it's too late which I will explain. Brooke's underlying feel of betrayal by Peyton has left her in a dark place in which Lucus is a victim because he really didn't do anything wrong, I know that might kill some girls for saying, but they've already forgiven eachother for their past mistakes in season 1 so Lucus gets thrown under a bus, and while the whole time fighting for Brooke in the beginning, he has Peyton there to save him. This fact cannot be lost because Peyton is there for him. And Lucus is there for her during the whole stalker incidents. These two will always be there to save eachother. Just like Lucus and Haley save eachother. Lucus' heart wouldn't have it any other way, like Brooke's is. Which I will explain later. First off, I've read a lot of people explain that Lucus only writes because of Peyton. Ummm, to be honest, if you look at the facts, Lucus writes about his life while he is going through it, but he starts writing ALWAYS because of Brooke. When Brooke and Lucus break up, he srats writing. Now, eventually, and this is what you Brucus fans have to hold onto, Brooke's maturity in life (kinda Karen'sh) rises to the top. She forgives Peyton and realizes she needs her friend like she forgives and sees the good in rachel. Then even though Lucus always claimed that he wanted Brooke there when his dreams came true, Brooke sees still feels the insecurities about Leyton and pushes him towards Peyton and they start dating. Now, I know this next part is going to kill a lot of Leyton lovers out there, but when Leyton was together, even though it was nice, I never felt a "deep" love a fighting love that I witnessed in Season 3 between Brucus. Call it character chemistry, storyline, whatever, but it just wasn't as strong I'm sorry. I felt more to me like what Haley and Lucus would be like if they were ever to get together. But the problem with brucus that a lot of Brucus fans miss is that Brooke's insecurities about Leyton are still strong and unresolved which is why when they went to break Mouth out of jail, she couldn't bear to watch them in the hotel room. It's obvious she still has feeling for Lucus but she doesn't feel like Lucus' connection to her is as strong as it is toward Peyton, which as incorrect as it might be, it's how Brooke sees the situation. So what we learn from season 4 is that Brooke still has feelings for Luke, but her heart is the same as Luke's and if she feels Lucus' feeling are for Peyton she's not gonna stand in the way, unlike Peyton does, sorry. So season 4 goes to Leyton but barely. Actually some might say that it could go either way. Which leads us to season 5....

Season 5 - Boy has Tree Hill Changed. First off, Peyton does return for Lucus but for people who think that Lucus returned for Peyton, that's not true. He was happy with lindsey, sorry but it's the truth. He returned to find himself. That's why he returned. Brooke returned because she has accomplished everything in her life that she focused on since breaking up with Lucus and she was never as happy as she was in tree hill but still has her huge heart, like Lucus. Peyton craves Lucus, Lucus doesn't crave Peyton. Oh, and to the book phase, yeah, Lucus starts writing again, but only after the episode where Peyton resuses his proposal he spends the day with Brooke, goes to see Brooke and they discuss that day wondering if things would turn out differently. Sorry, but it's the truth. Also, as much as people say that Lucus wants Peyton there when all his dreams come true, the one person who is actually there is Brooke. So you can definately witness the chemistry. However, you can't deny that Brooke still feels like Leyton is to be together. Eventually, Lucus and Lindsay break up leaving him in a dark place, and the person who saves him this time is Brooke not Peyton, and the person who saves Brooke during baby angie is Lucus. They even admit that they will always love eachother. And Brooke also states in the season that Lucus Scott was the one boy that she might have lost it all for. So she definately loves him. But Brooke's insecurities tell her that Lucus is bound to be with Peyton and she won't get in the way which is why she didn't hook up with him. At this point Lucus is definately a little lost on love which is why Haley tells him to stop hiding his heart. So then we have the cliff hanger which i won't get into cause you all know......
So my predictions..........

Season 6 - Brooke has insecurities she needs to overcome with Leyton so I'm sorry Brucus fans, but your best hope is that he chooses Peyton to begin this season. Why do i say that, because if he chooses Peyton, it's way too early to solve the crisis, which leads to eventually Lucus realizing that even though him and Peyton are soulmates, Brooke is his love but he's gotta fight for her and leave Peyton for her and show her that he wants her. True love always wins out right. So if the story is just beginning, and Peyton is who he chooses first, I think the end all with please Brucus fans, but you gotta be patient and let the story develop because Brooke's insecurities have always been an underlying issue through the whole term of this show.

So endgame = Brucus!! you just have to play it out.

to person who respond me and about the conversation between lucas and kaeren,i should say the moment before that conversation, brook told lucas:"i love you and i probably always will".so i dont think lucas thought that she didnt love him back,so i think the conversation was about himself.and yes,he loved brook,he probably loved lindsay,peyton loved jake too,so they can love other people,BUT as i said they cant love other people the way they love eachother and as much as they love eachother.and skillz and brook didnt push him,they made him face his feelings for peyton

Brucas was not anymore highschool than Leyton. Leyton was together after highschool but they didnt keep in touch and couldnt make it. And back to that denial thing. Yeah I dont know why its so hard for LPers to think that its impossible for Lucas and Peyton to fall in love with other people. Lucas made it pretty clear that he wanted and loved Brooke NOT Peyton in s2 and 3. Both girls were available in S2 but Lucas picked Brooke. And when he said "I do" to Lindsey he was once agian in denial. I am ofcourse being sarcastic. Lucas really did love Lindsey and Brooke. LPers love to play the denial card because they never want to use logic and resonsing for anything. I think the only girl he showed the least interest in was Peyton. After season 1 he didnt even look at her in that way. Until Brooke and Skills pushed him towards Peyton. Peyton herself kept on questioning Lucas' love for Brooke almost like she wanted Lucas to stop fighting for her and start going after her. I cant believe how many times I heard "are you sure Lucas" Lucas showed her her place when he said "you cant help you love Peyton" and he was talking about BROOKE. lol

I really hope Mark reads this and realizes what a huge mistake Leyton was/is.

I don't care which ways Mark wants to end it...if he wants Leyton to be end-game then whatever. I never approved of this couple to be a romantic kind. Platonic and meaningful, yes. They have a special, complex connection. But not as a romantic couple.LEYTON are MORE THAN FRIENDS but also LESS THAN LOVERS. So if LP is end-game, then that's just sad. OTH lost one point on that part. At least we still have Naley.

Leyton all the way. I've watched the season from the beginning and its always been a fight between Brucas and Leyton. Even when Luke was with Brooke he always came back to Peyton and even in the 5th season when Luke was with Lindsey he still looked back at Peyton. If Mark puts Brucas back together I probably will be ready to leave OTH for good. Everyone says they broke up b/c of the divorce in real life and yes that is partially true, but why would you want a couple on TV to be so fake when you know they dislike each other in real life. In the beginning they had chemistry but now if they are back together it will just look utterly sad and a desperate attempt to make the so called fans happy. So to me its Leyton all the way and hopefully Brooke can find someone else in the meantime.

Urgh. Leyton. The spoilers are absolutely AWFUL. I thought Mark said he would make the decision who to take to Vegas ultimately on the poll, which was Brooke!! (right?)

There are so many more Brucas fans, and new ones regularly, despite Mark romantically ignoring Brucas, except for about 2 episodes this season.

If Leyton are endgame, Mark had better get ready for thousands of venomous e-mail, and nasty parcels - and thats just from me.

I want to know why some people think Lucas and Peyton are soulmates? WHY? Because Lucas had a crush on her throughout school? Because they almost got in a hit in run? Because he fixed her car? Because they cheat on people to satisfy their needs? Because Lucas uses recycled lines on her? Because they had sex in a dirty motel room? Because they had a cookie dough fight they couldn't pull off to save their lives?

They are so boring! There is absolutely nothing interesting about this couple. They like the same music, they wear the same clothes, they have the same hair, they're both tortured - when did this become a good thing by the way? Did I miss where they became epic? He wrote a book based on what? A bloody leg, cheating, and a psycho stalker? So Peyton is weak, that makes their love undeniable? I don't get it! The writers just needed to shove them in somewhere a long the way.

I love brucas; they formed out of undeniable love for two people. Leyton was made out of Cheating and selfish heartbreaking confessions. Brucas just feels better in my opinion.

I know everyone has there own opinion and I appreciate them, so this was just my opinion of the relationships, and I am in no way bashing anyone, and I apologize if someone takes it that way. This is just the thought of a Brucas fan.

Lucas and Peyton need to give it up already. They are hopeless as a couple. All of season 4 and season 5 revolved around them and I think we can all say that they dont have what Brooke and Lucas or Jake and Peyton had. We all know that they can be happy with other people...much much much happier. Lucas with Brooke and Peyton with Jake. Thats the way its suppose to be. Everyone on the show telling them that they are "epic" or "meant to be" is not good enough.
I have never shipped Leyton not even in season 1. I just couldnt ship a couple that cheats and hurts people. That is not love. Their love is never reciprocal. They have never fought for each other. They bail on each other the second things get tough. Where as Brooke and Lucas have stuck together through everyting, they have fought for each other.

i dont understand why people are still routing for brucas anyway..the whole entire beginning of season 5..brooke knew that lucas still loved peyton and that they were going to get together. she even told peyton to go get him..so i honestly dont think she would do that to her best friend again..even in season 4 when they got together brooke told him to go to her...just doesnt look like its in the picture. lucas started writing again when she came back..and the novel was obviously about her. In some ways One Tree Hill reminds me of Dawson's Creek. Originally Joey and Dawson were set up and "destined" to be together. But eventually it was really clear that Joey and Pacey had more chemistry together. Even though Lucas and Peyton were supposed to be together from the start, I think it would be very cool if the writers were able to overcome the original plan and follow the course of events that has happened. I would be really disappointed if Lucas and Peyton don't end up together. I can't beleive that it's even possible that after all the grief season 5 put us through looking at the two of them yearn for eachother painfully (even though Luas was engaged), that they could end up apart. I think I would stop watching if they don't get together. I mean, we ha to at let try it one last time! This is a very important story line for the show. It was the foundation of the entire last season! What's all the fuss for if they don't end up together. Lucas and Linsay irritates me.

In the beginning I really loved Lucas and Peyton together but since the second season I can't really feel the chemistry between them. I don't know if Brooke is the right girl for Lucas. I like them when their together but whenever they were apart I so didn't understand the way Brooke behaved. But I totally fell in Love with the relationship between Peyton and Jake. I just loved them in the first two seasons. They are so perfect for each other. I hope Bryan Greenberg is returning to One Tree Hill now that October Road is finished though I don't know why he left the show in the first place.
But apart from that I don't care if Leyton exists or not. I'd just like it to be a final decision for once. I'm really fed up with this whole breaking up and getting back together thing.
But anyway the ultimate OTH couple for me is Nathan and Haley. This family is so sweet.

I am so tired of Lucas and Peyton! They both cant figure out what they want and when they do, they can never make it work. It makes less interested in their characters and watching them. And when Peyton is depressed about Lucas all the time, it makes her character quite boring. Yes, they had a connection at the start but in their own way, all the couples had connections. They just have a very strong friendship but can never seem to make it work when it is more than that. I think we need to bring back Jake for Peyton because that is the only relationship in which she has been truly happy, there was no sneaking or cheating behind friend's backs to be together and there was no drama between the couple that lasted 5 seasons. Jake and Peyton had a true connection and they were an amazing couple, a family. I believe that Brooke and Lucas have a stronger romantic connection and bond with eachother than Lucas and Peyton.

I would like to see Peyton and Lucus together it's been long over due. There is always something in the way when it comes to the both of them. I think it's time for them to be together. We've all seen what they look like when their apart (we got it). If anything that's what were really tired about, the fact that their always close, but never quite there. We need to see how a relationship will be with them together once and for all and if it does not work out at least we can say they tired and it just didn't work out. Leyton may be the same worlds and want the same things but they repel when tests for endurance call their bluff. And they just want to keep each other to feed their own selfish desires. Luke wanted to marry Peyton so he could have what he used to have with Brooke. Peyton refused the proposal because she knows she could not have Lucas the same way she had everything with Jake. Lucas and Peyton getting married while sharing this 'epic love' is a great idea, Mark, but there is not development, no real trials they have to defeat so how convincing can they be as a couple, let alone be married? They never gave any effort to be together and once they are, they discuss about promises that will be broken or they angst each other until they grow weary and want to be the "epic love" they were (have they ever been?)

The real knock-out is their concept of happiness together:

I get it. Leyton is always there. Yes, yes, they love each other! But to be in a relationship that entails commitment and emotional supoort? Lucas is better committed to Brooke, even as friends in s5. Jake might have left but he said that someday he will come back for her. Peyton doesn't have to wait but she doesn't have to confuse and fool herself either with these notions about being with Lucas forever. Leyton exists forever but not in a romantic sense. Leyton is a beautiful connection but more of a platonic form. Leyton is filled with complexities and trappings but more of two people who reflect each other's fears, preferences and insecurities. Leyton is incomparable but not always in the best light. Leyton is both a bargain and a deadend. If friends, they grow but once they try to be involved romantically, they end up destroying each other.

Brucas. I believe they could still be together. But Lindsey seems good for Lucas too. And Peyton? She can survive. She learned how to so why is she being so impatient and willing to settle down for the least availability? Because it's that, available? Like Lucas? Whenever he was, she doesn't want him. Then when he isn't, she wants him back. Really. This isn't working at all. Leyton is just not working anymore. Mark...dearest Mark, don't try making Leyton so epic and meant-to-be when all signs, seriously, point to the contradiction.

Truth to be told, I like Leyton pictures. I collect them. They look so good and happy in the banners and wallpapers and icons the LP fans make that I collect them. But I look at these pictures and I see Ally Mcbeal and John Cage, Anna and Seth from the OC, Lily and Ted from "How I met your mother" hell, even Will and Grace (but the last two cited are Laley-oriented as well but i hope you get my point. These are examples of platonic love) and the Leyton kissing scenes seem..wrong. No combustion. Too awkward. Leyton posses the quality of strong "same sides" attracting each other but in the end "has to repel when a romantic angle enters." Two people can connect like Leyton and remain as friends. They have once. So, Mark, really, wtf?

There is a post floating around on here somewhere from an LPer stating the reason she doesn't like BL is because of the BL fans immaturity, and I just had to laugh. Mainly because me and her have the same views, just on different ships. I have gotten to the point where I will like LP, and then an LPer will completely ruin it for me by making some rude, stupid, or completely immature comment that completely turns me off of the couple.

I guess the point I am trying to make is DON'T be so biased about who ships what couple because truth is there is just as many immature, whiny LPers as there are immature whiny BLers...

leyton needs to give it up...they do not have the kind of love that makes you fight for the other at all costs...lucas broke up with peyton after she said someday and didnt call her for a year...peyton saw the cheek kiss and ran away without even being there for lucas on his big day...if your fear of committment overcomes your love for that other person then its not worth it

Simply can't get over the fact that all the LP'ers keep sayin that luke always goes to peyton even if he's with brooke blah blah. Ok, the first time they cheated, Luke was the one who learned more from his mistake.

He made the effort to make things right with brooke, and tried to become a better person and he and brooke became really close again. Even peyton noticed this (when she was with jake) and told brooke that it wud definately not be inappropriate for her to have feelings for luke.

Peyton knew about the letters brooke wrote to luke, still at the end of 3x16 she goes and kisses luke again coz she's about to die. Luke DID NOT cheat on brooke, peyton being such a close friend, it just caught him off guard and he wud definately not say or do anything to get peyton more upset in that situation. Fine that was just a moment coz peyton thought she was dying. The most messed up part is, she's starting to have feelings for luke AGAIN. But she goes to jake and asks him if he wants to get MARRIED??? While jake also knows she has feelings for luke, that gives her the right to play with the jake's heart tooo ??? To have told brooke that she kissed luke might've been fine, but to tell brooke she's having the same feelings for luke but she'l bury them ???

I wonder if Luke knows that Peyton had asked Jake to marry her ?

Please Mark, do you really want to end the show with a couple which has to cheat to get together or hurt the feelings of others they love ???

Reasons why BL should be end game.

- Because Luke had given exactly 2 embarassing speeches in his life, and they were both with brooke (S 3)
- Because he certainly made predictions about peyton since 7th grade, but he stopped making predictions about peyton once he was with BROOKE (Hailey mentioning the predictions to peyton - S 5)
- Because KEITH told luke that I think You're good! (S 1 - when luke chose brooke over peyton)
- Because luke gave his room to brooke so that she didnt have to move to california (S 2)
- Because KEITH always saw brooke and luke together and he noticed how happy luke was (S 3 - when keith returns)
- Because luke was willing to PROVE his love to brooke which he did (S 3)
- Because he did not say "OH" to brooke when brooke told luke she loved him
- Because luke did not have to be persuaded by a number of people to realise that he loves brooke
- Because even after luke cheated on brooke (peyton), and brooke broke luke's heart (chris kellar), they both had it in each other's hearts to forgive, thats how much they love each other (S 1-3)
- Because technically BROOKE is the ONLY one who accepted luke's proposal :P (5x05 anyone ? :P)
- Because Brooke was willing to give up everything for luke (she told this to victoria), and that was one of the few times she talked about love, coz luke was the one she had truly loved and cared for (S 5)

BL has to be end game. It wud just kill me if LP end together.If LP is end game, OTH wud never be the same for me, and I would probably not rewatch most of the seasons/episodes coz knowing that he's gonna end up with a person like Peyton, makes me sick to my stomach.

Brucas!! It's been seen time and time again that Peyton and Luke can be much happier with other people, i.e., Jake and Brooke. Peyton was even happier with Pete from Fall Out Boy, a guy whom she didn't know too well, then she is with Lucas. They don't have the on-screen chemistry as lovers, and are much better off as friends.

Season Three was by far my favorite season thus far. The chemistry for Brucas is immense, and while many say that Leyton has an emotional connection, I think they work better as friends. Throughout season three, Lucas has done things for Brooke that he has never done for Peyton: Like write letters, give embarrassing speeches in the rain, refuse to be non-exclusive, forgiving her for sleeping with Kellar, and there are so many more. Yeah, Lucas always ends up saving Peyton, but that has more to do with their friendship than their relationship as lovers. Lucas proposed Peyton and said no, and to me, that should have ended the relationship. She was willing to live in Savannah for Jake but not live in Tree Hill for Lucas? I don't think it's fair to continue forcing fans to like Leyton. Brucas was more natural on-screen and as Lucas said, Brooke is the girl for him.

Well first of all, i'm a Naley fan. I think they are THE epic couple of oth.
But someone definetly screwed up somewhere with this whole "love-triangle" thing. It was obviously meant to be him and Peyton from the start, but then he started dating Sophia in real life, so they decided to change it and make Brucas seem like an "epic" couple. But then they split up, so they had to switch it all back to Peyton again.
Basically, thats what happens when actors decide to have their own thing off-screen, and the writers have to write it into the show. so now cos they thought both couples were gonna be the main one at some point and wrote it that way, the fans are now divided. Anyone seeing the moral of this story here?

The Leyton/Brucas love triangle is always gonna be there now so i'm just sticking with the couple that actually are "epic"

The problem with Peyton is that she ALWAYS goes for Luke after he's with someone. I remember luke telling her "Do you have, like an alarm in your head that goes off everytime im happy with someone else?" (he is obviously referring to lindsay as well as brooke otherwise he wud'nt have said everytime).
Notice in the arguement which LP had in 5 x 05.(im takin only parts of the arguement)

Lucas : You're the one I want next to me when my dreams come true, you're the one I want next to me when they don't.

Peyton : Whitey Believes in you and Nathan needs you. If I ask you to walk away, you're gonna get up one day and resent me, the same way I WOULD feel if you asked me to walk away from my dream. (i think i got it right)

Peyton : If you can't think our love can make it one year, I don't see how we can be talking about forever right now (She could have easily put it in a much better and non offensive way)

Going to the whole Brooke-Peyton thing.

In episode 15- She almost chased Chase away after she stole Luke from Brooke again.
When Ian had them both tied up, she said "I wish he kills you first". Despite what brooke said about her mom. Another instance.
Episode 4 x 01, Brooke comes to see Luke at the end, Peyton passes some ridiculous comments that I don't remember.
I just can't stand Peyton and as years have gone by Brooke has become a better person while Peyton ....well I don't want to say anything more about peyton. I just hope that BL get together coz I have never loved a couple more. Ryan/Marissa were a favourite till the end of season 3. Then the OC ended for me and was really upsetting. I just hope the couple I support in OTH gets together. BL :)

ahhh, what a question. i strongly believe leyton need to give it up. as soon as i saw the first episode peyton became my favourite character, and i was aiming for her to get with luke, a guy who saw into her soul, the connection between them was undeniable, its deep and strong, they have so much in common. but i quickly turned off leyton as a couple, in my opinion they are a beautiful idea but a lacking reality, they have too much in common and are better off as friends. i think peyton needs someone to make her stronger and beleive in herself and lucas needs someone to balance him out, in the end my support of broody couples doesn't last long (like ryan and marissa)a broody person needs a non broody person, or atleats on tv it needs to be that way.
if leyton had been better developed earlier on then perhaps i would still support them, but other than that connection (which is not love, and is just as suited if not more so to friendship not as lovers) i just don't see two people IN love with each other, i never really saw them fall in love, i saw a boy who had a crush on a girl he didn't know, and a girl who was intrigued with the world lucas offered her and a stable shoulder to lean on, they understand each other but that doesnt mean they belong to each other, in season one i dont think they got a chance to expand their feelings into real IN LOVE love, and over the next couple of seasons their relationship strengthened as a friendship and the show showed how they can both fall head over heels in love with other people, strong loves they both unsuccessfully fought for, yet leyton never fought for each other, they always walk away too easily, willing to give up on what they have or what they could have, their season 4 relationship reeked of settlement, and by that point their romantic chemistry was not even half of the potential they showed originally, and i couldn't help but compare it to their other relationships and judge leyton as lacking. dont get me started on season 5, this season just proved to me even more why they don't belong together (as much as its said leyton are soulmates, i have not felt it or seen real emotional proof that its any more than an idea) and i think lucas needs to have some time alone to realise what he really wants before jumping into another relationship, especially one as serious as marriage. for me leyton is getting tiring and boring, do i believe they could get back together and be happy? yes i do, i think the writers could pull that off, but if they do it they need to have more build up on both sides of the relationship to pull it off successfully, and happiness can be easily written into a show, and if it does happen i for one won't buy it, i'll watch it but all i will see is two actors acting in love, two characters who think they should be together instead of two characters who belong together and are in love. gawd, if leyton do get back together let it please be so they can get it out of their systems and realise for themselves that it is just a beautiful idea and nothing more, that the love lucas wrote about in his book is in fact more that what they shared or share, so they can move on and truely be happy and in love without it looking like simple acting.
Thats just how i feel, in the end each fan has their own opinion with just as strong reasoning, it all comes down to the fact when a fan watches a couple either they feel their love or they don't, and no matter what happens or what logical rational arguement a fan hears they will continue to ship their couple because they feel the love. so some will fight for leyton while others won't, but its not us who decides (sadly) it depends on where Mark and co feel the love.

I started to watch this show when I was 20 years old and I fall in love brucas story.. brucas teach me love and faith.. and many many thinks....I am so thankfull sophia and chad for their chemistry...

First of all, I'm definitely pulling for Lucas and Peyton. Anyone who says that Lucas and Brooke should be together are out of their minds. How many times do you want them to go back and forth??? I know that Lucas and Peyton have broken up a couple of times, but keep in mind, they are still growing up and sometimes people make poor decisions, i.e. Lucas over reacting when Peyton said she wanted to wait. Relationships are not easy, but hopefully you learn from your mistakes, and if given antoher chance you make things right. For Mark to end the show with Brucas together would make the show pointless and ridiculous. As far as the people who would even mention Jake... what are you thinking??? That was never ment to be and you know it. In the end, it's up to Mark. Hopefully he's not too driven on drama, and retains some substance in this storyline. At any rate, I hope this back and forth crap ends soon. Even I'm getting tired of this.

everyone that watches the show knows that naley is the ultimate couple and is the only for sure endgame, so all the leyton and brucas and jeyton fans need to just grow up and stop fighting i mean seriously there is a 50/50 shot for both leyton and brucas you will find out soon enough, no need to fight about it. Honestly, I think Leyton is boring. I hate seeing them together! The all TLA thing is really really really boring! If they end up together, I don't think I will even watch season 6! What I like about Brucas, is that all of there scenes are great ! You feel that they are happy together, but Peyton is always crying..her only interesting relationship was with Jake. They had a lot of chemistry, and so do Brucas ! With the LP relationship, you don't feel that they will stay together forever and be happy ! Peyton said NO ,and now that Lucas finally is over her she's like: "Oh...looks like I made a mistake!"Just like she did in the first season when Lucas was with Brooke! I know this is supposed to be about L/P but people are using the term "ultimate OTH couple" and they have L/P and B/L in the same sentence when seriously people, Keith and Karen are better suited than those two couples as the "ultimate OTH couple". The REAL ultimate OTH couple is obviously Nathan and Haley. So it's much appreciated if people wouldn't forget that. L/P maybe the first "meant to be" couple but the two have strayed too far from each other to be the ULTIMATE couple. I think they deserve each other and everything but they are NOT the ultimate couple.

As a Brucas fan, let me just clarify something for some people-

Do I think that LP are liars and cheaters? Yes, watch the show- they lie and cheat and hurt those around them. So the question now is why would BLers want L to be with B? Well, I can't speak for everyone but I can tell you what I think and the impression I've gotten from many others-

Lucas doesn't deserve Brooke. She deserves so much more than him. That's probably the only reason I'd want LP to be together- so they could be miserable together. However, why I do ship BL is because when L is with B, he ceases to do Mr.-I-have-a-fascination-with-death and he's actually happy and the two of them together don't betray and lie to those that care about them. But more importantly, Brooke is happy with him. That's why I want BL together, because it's what I think B wants. Truthfully, I could care less about L, almost as little as I care about P, but if L is what B wants, then I'm all for it.

I know this isn't what the debate should be about but I was getting tired of this being brought up.

Also, saying that LP should be together because Chad and Sophia shouldn't have to work together is the weakest argument ever.

ok, forget about lucas, brooke, peyton, and everyone else on the show... think about it for a minute.... i know we all want lucas with peyton or brooke or whomever, but remember, Mark, you know, the writer/creator... we all just need to put our faith in him. Afterall, he's kept us interested this long, and i believe he will continue doing a good job keeping us interested in the future. Not one minute of the show has been bad, so no matter who ends up with who, we all know it's gonna be good!!

Whenever this debate pops up, LP fans describe Leyton as 'epic' over and over, as if thats the best arguement they can give. 'Epic' isn't the word to use -- 'over-played' or 'drawn-out-to the point of madness' is more like it.

I ship Brucas immensely (I own quite a few purple monkeys ;) ), but I did try very hard to like Leyton, or see some sort of connection - and I am not just saying that. After watching 5 seasons, I would say Lucas and Peyton didn't bring out the worst in each other, but they certainly don't bring out the best either. Peyton doesn't seem to be interested when Lucas is single, it's only when he's with someone else that she 'realises' she is 'oh-so-helplessly-in-love' with him, and the relationship is therefore based on cheating and lying -- not exactly a solid base for a great relationship. I cant see the 'instant connection' and love at first sight - Peyton just wanted the sex if i remember correctly.

Then there comes the 'Leyton need each other and complete each other' quote that i see way to often for comfort. Actually, wasn't there the scene at Debs house on the balcony, in which Peyton named a load of reason why she didn't need him? Thought so.

Leyton have been thrown on us since the beginning, and it just shows that even with the scripts writing Leyton in for gawd knows how long, they are hopeless enough to have over half the OTH community not going for Leyton. What does this show?

Lp have a sort of love, but its a sibling love, like twins. They both brood, so they can brood together, but in the end, would you want a relationship that depressing? Hell, I wouldn't be able to even watch Chilarie scenes anymore. And its quite a selfish love, which simply starts on the wrong sort of ground.

Jeyton just had the element of surprise when they first hinted to it, then seemed so natural, plus we all loved to hate Nikki, so it was the little perfect family of Jake/Peyton/Jenny against NikkiCumSatan uniting us the Jeyton.

In answer to the actual question, they really need to give it up. Is Leyton the ultimate couple? No, Brucas Naley Jeyton all the way.

P.S. Naley are the bliddy backbone of One Tree HIll ships - they keep us sane. They are everywhere, but we can never gorw tired of them.

This whole topic is really irritating! All you guys argue over is how long it has taken and blah blah blah. If it only took a season for people to hook up and stay perfectly happy the show would SUCK and there would only be two seasons. Brooke is so overrated and all of her facial twitches drive me INSANE! I hate to watch her on screen with Lucas because it always feels so fake. What Peyton and Lucas has feels genuine. So stop using the "tired story line" story as an excuse. If new characters came and went all the time I wouldn't want to watch it anymore! Lucas and Peyton should be together end of story.

But what I know for sure that we can't always get what we want so I just hope the ending[I'm talking about ultimatum] of One Tree Hill they will make 2 different ending one with Brucas and another with Leyton. LP are DEFINITELY the ultimate OTH couple. Everyone knows it, even if they don't want to admit it. Lucas and Peyton are soulmates. They are meant to be together, and they will be. It's as simple as that. All of One Tree Hill (which I've stuck with from DAY ONE) has led to the reunion of these two.

They need to give it up. I could go on and on about why they shouldn't be together. But you have enough of that..

So I'll just say this.. If they ever stand a chance of me personally understanding them they'd need to show it.

I don't need every person, dead alive and strange, in TH telling me that they are meant to be together. I need Lucas and Peyton to act like it. At the same time. I need them to not be selfish hogs while they're together. I need build up. I need realism.

And those are all things that I'm never gonna get when it comes to them. They have proven time and time again that it's about lust and intrigue and following other peoples wishes.. but it's never about both of them wanting to be together at the same time. NEVER.

Lucas chose Peyton in S1 -yes. Without knowing her. And the minute he did, she walked away (for the 4th time in 5 episodes or so). In S2, he chose Brooke. No one told him to. She didn't show any sign of feelings for him. He just wanted to be with her. HIS CHOICE. In S3 (after a whole summer alone with Peyton) He fought for Brooke. He wanted Brooke. And no one told him to. In S4- he still fought for Brooke and wanted her until Brooke pushed him to Peyton. He only went once Skills and Brooke both sent him to her. In S5, he loved and then pined for Lindsey. And focused on Brooke when Lindsey left. He ignored everyone pushing him to Peyton. So see.. he's never actually chosen Peyton while he knew her. He may choose Peyton to go to Vegas but IMO- she's the only one that would be desparate enough to say yes to that crazy phone call anyway. Obviously Lucas isn't thinking clearly. And so now he's just decided to give in and finally listen to all of TH who are telling him to be with Peyton.

Oh and Peyton had to be told by Jake that she loved Lucas. He had to push her towards him.

I personally believe that you can't really choose love. You can't look for it. It finds you. And I'm sure that destiny has already chosen Lucas's true love. And her name isn't Peyton. :)

I'am sorry about my english, but it's not my first language. I don't think they need to give up. Because they have a great, amazing and beautiful story. And it's always gonna be about Lucas and Peyton. They need to each other. They extract what's best in another. When they're separates it's seems if there is something incomplete. Now with Lindsey (reluctant, oh-so-romantic Lucas playing hard-to-get but we all know he lands back to the same mistake that is Peyton) I just finished s5 and gosh darn it! The fictional book for Peyton is a lie. The real thing is the love letters to Brooke. The prediction note "A second chance with Brooke" is what a romance is supposed to feel and be like. And the whole comet-scientist thing? A little played-out, Luke, keep trying. Maybe you should write about the Scotts (Naley and Jamie) than waste time on repeating your forced, predictable love-love for a girl who you never saw more than just a female counterpart, an equal when it comes to misery business. Leyton...could have been acceptable if developed. Like Naley. Brucas. Jeyton. But no...it was a settlement that stemmed from Chopia divorce and Brian G's sayonara. So...REALLY, MARK? LP AGAIN???!! I get it with the whole "Your Art Matters" stuff and the "I want all the same things" stuff. But Mark could've gone further than that as the seasons proceeded and not let Leyton hang and kept stored somewhere and when it's time to pop out...BAM!! BAM!! BAM!! LEYTON is one landslide of rejection, humiliation and selfishness after another. I explained to my best friend (although I haven't fully convinced her) that Peyton went out of her way to make Lucas regret his decision to marry Lindsey ("if you want to break my heart, you don't have to propose to Lindsey to do it") and making it all about her. Lucas constructed this 'perfect love' with him and Peyton in a fictional book, blurring everyone's views and confusing Peyton. God, when there's a book written as an instructional manual to be with one guy, that would make anybody dizzy! Peyton felt like she had to live to the expectations written on the pages. The Molly girl is the epitome of LP fans who think what Lucas and Peyton have is just so worth it. I get that but Lucas' mistake is making their relationship into such a pedestal. It's not. Real relationships aren't like that.

My biggest problem with Leyton is they don't know when is the right time to fight for each other and when is the right to give up and compromise.

I think that Lucas and Peyton were meant to be together from the begining i feel like Peyton is just a sad sack and just there. she always wanted Lucas and they were there for each other "always saving each other" and in episode 410 Peyton was the reason that Lucas came back. after seeing how things would have been. i really don't mind if it is Brucas because i also loved them together. whatever Mark decides is fine with me . i just wanna see Peyton get something happy in her life. her and Lucas broke my heart in some scenes this season and i want them to be together. i want Brooke to be with chase or somebody but i want Lucas to just pick already!! I have to say that I don't agree or disagree with any of the views out there. I watched season one through five and I have to say that I have yet to see enough evidence that Peyton and Lucas are the best couple. I have seen why they could be good together but I haven't seen enough of them being together to be a judge of that. There was to much emphasis on the loving from afar or them being with other people. Maybe season six can show me why they are meant to be really, show me how they bring out the best in each other and maybe I can make up my mind. I compared them to Naley and I realized that I don't have much to go on compared to those two to make a decision so I will remain neutral and wait and see.

"I was now, and would always be in love with Peyton Sawyer". That phrase makes me cry everytime I watch 5.08, but it sums up Lucas and Peyton better than anything else. He has always been in love with her, and that will never change. They are soulmates, and nothing can change that. They belong together. Even in s5, which had a lot of angst, it was SO OBVIOUS that they were still completely in love, and the actors were amazing in portraying the longing and unspoken emotion that has always existed between Lucas and Peyton. Leyton is the most beautiful, transcendent relationship I have ever seen. Even though they are fictional, they have allowed me to believe in true love, even when things get really difficult in my own life.

LP ARE THE BEST COUPLE, EVER ON TV. They make the rest of us believe in true love. They show that you don't have to be this outgoing, "life of the party" type of person to find true love. Lucas and Peyton are damaged, broken souls, and it's so beautiful to see them find real love in each other. They are soulmates, and they have "saved" each other, and helped heal each other in too many ways to count. Lucas's heart has always been with Peyton, and hers has been with him from "the first moment they locked eyes". People need to realize that these two are true love, and they will end up together. BL was a beautiful relationship, but as Chad himself said, Brooke was a fun relationship for Lucas, but eventually you have to go back to being who you are, and Peyton is that relationship. Lucas and Peyton are destined to be together, and everyone who doesn't think that needs to give up, and accept this. It's just the way it'll be.

Personally I love that Mark decided to seperate them in season 5. I believe he will eventually have them end up together because just like Brooke said in season 1 "people who are meant to be, always find their way in the end". So maybe Mark is showing us that life isn't easy and you can;t just have a perfect relationshp just because you've been through so much with someone and feel you deserve it. With Lucas in season5, Mark was trying to show how intense Leytons feeling actually are for one another. Yes Luke acted up and acted nasty for most of the season but thats just because he got his heart crush when Peyton didnt say yes to his proposal. He Whe n she came back he realized he could never stop loving her and that drove him insane. He wanted to show that he could live w/o Peyton. Everytime he decieds to be with someone else Peyton always gets in the way. Like it happened with booke and then Lindsey. He hates he loves her soo much. They will end up together eventually but they make for good drama so thats why they couldnt be together to soon.

I truely believe that Lucas and Peyton are meant to be together. They are both the tortured artist type, and he answered it at the end of Season 4. Peyton is who he wants standing beside him when all his dreams come true. If there hadn't been any relationship drama, the show would not have gotten off the way it has. AND i don't think Mark wants to stir up Brooke/Peyton drama. Brooke knows how much Peyton loves Lucas...everyone does. Even Skillz was planning on helping her get him back. Brooke and Lucas make amazing friends, but Luke can't keep up with B. Davis. She's one of a kind. I can't wait until September.

I'd kick myself in the ass, walk on red light, kiss my ex boyfriend and even lick the toiletbowl before EVER shipping Leyton. That would be like supporting lying and cheating in a relationship! They make me wanna pull my hair out! The TLA stuff has got to go...

The reason list for LP is long but do you realize that most of them are about Season 1...?

I don't shipper either one of them and I am sick of the TLA Story Line because Mark builds it up so unrealistically...he destroys them, builds up a new, long lasting relationship and then another Moment of Clarity...that's not how life goes...

Luke should have grown up but if he chooses either one of them over Lindsey, he just shows hom immature he is and that he has not changed at all since HS...

Lucas and Peyton may try, but it never ends up working. They both have their minds set on this idea of their love, which is only about pain and suffering, which is completely ridiculous. The best times on one tree hill have revolved around brooke and lucas. The reason fans love this show is because these two opposites attract. Peyton and Lucas are much the same person, therefore creating a boring aroma. They bring out the worst in eachother, and the show is going to loose viewers (especially new ones) if they continue like this! give us fans a good time, especially if 6th season is going to be the last year. Give us a show worth remembering by pairing Brooke and Lucas together. He has said more worthy speeches and more i love you´s to brooke than to peyton. Yes, lucas said a lot in his book but that doesnt mean a thing; you know why? because in real life, it was NOTHING like that. All the things in the book, i never felt once when they were together. Chemistry describes brooke with lucas, not peyton with lucas. Leyton is so cheesy, and often times boring. I hate their scenes, and i´m being nice by just saying that. This show was my favorite show, it was my calling. But if it continues with this stupid Leyton vibe, (which was what the whole 5th season was centered around except for the last episodes where we saw some brucas magic), then i refuse to watch it! it´s becoming truly unbearable. Please mark, stop this now. you still have a chance to redeem yourself. Step up, and make us happy; Give us brooke and lucas. MAKE HISTORY!

How is writing "Leyton" multiple times a way of proving they should be together or not? All it proves is that you know how to type "Leyton".

PEYTON AND LUCAS = TRUE LOVE ALWAYS

Ok. First of all, people have to remember that Peyton has always been a very guarded person. She has a hard time "letting people in". She has said it, Lucas has said it, even her brother Derek has said it. From the beginning, Peyton and Lucas have had feelings for each other. I think that Peyton was just afraid of them. Here is this guy that comes along out of no where with whom she feels a strong connection. We saw in the first episodes that she was confused by her feelings.
Two of my biggest problems with all of the BL fans out there saying how horrible Peyton was to Brooke, don't you remember how it all began? Brooke KNEW that Peyton and Lucas had feelings for each other. She dared Peyton to show everyone how she really felt about Luke at that first party...you know, the one where he went to see how the story ended? Brooke brought it all upon herself. She knew these things and went (very full force I might add...naked in his back seat) after Lucas! Sure, Peyton may have been saying that it was ok, but, I'm sorry, I have been in a similar situation before and I still didn't betray my friend!! The second problem is when we found out that Brooke slept with Nathan SECONDS after he and Peyton broke up (again)! How is Brooke a good friend? She's a hypocrite! Ok, I actually love Brooke, but she really had never been a good friend to Peyton, not really until the end of season 4 and all of season 5. What friend uses the pain of losing two mothers as punchlines? Even Rachel was shocked at that one!
The night Peyton and Luke almost got together in the beginning of the 1st season when he said "he wanted it all with her", she freaked because she wanted it too but it scared her. Remember, this is "guarded" Peyton. So, sure, as any guy would, Lucas went on to the "next best thing", Brooke. He thought that Peyton didn't want him, and Peyton was willing to bottle those feelings up so that her "good friend" Brooke could be happy. Sure, she had a couple slips. It's hard to always keep such a connection hidden. BUT, at least they never slept together!
Lucas, too, has always been a little guarded with his true feelings. He is a guy after all and it takes them a little while to figure out what they want. We all know that his feelings never went away for Peyton because he was always there for her when she needed him. He just didn't realize it. He was never there for Brooke in the same way. Yes, he said "I'm the guy for you Brooke Davis" to Brooke on a couple of occasions but I think it's really interesting that he NEVER once said "you're the girl for me".
As far as season 5 went, for me, it was heart wrenching to see the Lucas and Peyton scenes. I still feel that connection there and the chemistry. I know Lucas still loves her, that's why he's acting the way he is. He is trying to punish Peyton for the pain she caused when she said "no" to his proposal. We all know she didn't actually say no, just not now; all of us except for Lucas. He acted very selfish at that moment while Peyton was being very mature about the situation. And Lucas has been acting very immature and selfish for most of season 5. He hasn't been fair to Lindsay, Peyton or himself about his true feelings. Why do you think he wanted to marry Lindsay right away? He thought that if he married her, his feelings for Peyton would go away, but they didn't. Instead they came out in a book. Again, everyone reads between the lines of the 2nd book and sees it (Haley, Lindsay, Peyton), except for Lucas.
As far as they way Peyton treated Lindsay, it's, unfortunately, human behaviour. Especially for someone who is young. She feels threatened. Lindsay is a nice, sweet, beautiful girl who loves Lucas. Of course Peyton would hate her! She never treated Brooke that way when she and Lucas were together because Brooke was her friend. She doesn't know Lindsay from a hole in the wall. But, Peyton does eventually come around and starts to give Lindsay some slack.
Well, I guess I've rambled on long enough! I just believe that, from the beginning, the writers have set up that Lucas and Peyton will be together. If they had of gotten together early on without any problems, drama, or obstacles, what kind of show would it have been? A short lived one, that's what kind!

I really think they should give up! Their storylines are getting boring and a lot of fans are getting sick of their on and off relationship!! I was so happy Lucas had found Lindsay!! That was the perfect way to end things between them!

Leyton need to give it up.

Yes i agree that in season one leyton was the epic dream couple. From the begining most people thought they were meant to be together. But something got in the way. Its called season 2 and season 3. If Mark Schwann wanted all the fans to love leyton. Then he made a big mistake. Its called season 2 and season 3. Those 2 seasons changed everything. No longer were people saying leyton should be together.Alot of fans were now rooting for brucas. And because their love was so strong in s2&3 fans are still rooting for brucas.
Question- if a couple is really "epic" then shouldn't most of the fanbase love them?
Answer- Leyton is NOT "Epic", naley is the only epic couple on the show.

Answer- It Doesn't. Peyton and lucas represent how not to start a relationship. They only hurt the people that they claim to care about.
In my opinion leyton should not get back together. And they most definatly should not be endgame. But because Mark Schwann loves peyton, and because of chad and sophia, we will not get brucas. Instead we will have to settle for Leyton as endgame. Which sucks.

what i really think about leyton is that..im a sucker for people who find there way in the end. i dont mind brucas..and i love that this question somehow got turned pretty much into brucas vs leyton which shouldnt be but i guess it is.

i just think that people think that luke chose to go after brooke second season that makes him want her more but thats cause peyton and him werent really friends in season 2. and she only proposed to jake because brooke had luke and haley had nathan and jenny had just called her mom. but she has always loved lucas. and if you think about it lucas still clearly loves her but obviously loves brooke too.

Hey everyone. This is the first time I leave any sort of comment on this website, but I thought it was a perfect time to give my thoughts. Everyone is going to have a different opinion and that is perfectly fine. No need to get nasty. Thats besides the point. My response for this topic is pretty much this... since season one its been IMPOSSIBLE for Lucas and Peyton to be together if it isn't Brook with Lucas its Peyton and her bad luck & tragedys. Honestly, I have been waiting for them to finally be together and stay that way atleast for a longer period of time. Yeah, its been said that they love eachother and they are soul mates but they really havent had the time to enjoy that love. Season 4 it ended with them together and then they end it. But of course at the same time I do like Lucas and Brooke together. I think that Lucas can be good with anyone lol.. I dunno I guess we just have to wait and see what is going to happen and still love the show. I know I will.

Are you kidding!! brooke left lucas because she knew he was in love with peyton, when she broke up with him she said, you shared a laugh with peyton, you made a mix tape with peyton, you had a conversation with peyton, we go for days without a conversation, it should not be like that luke. Leyton belong together ok!!
don't forget brooke also said the boy I love saved the girl I love and she is the girl he loves and everyone knows it, but I guess I can't blame him for it.

Almost every Leyton fan has to get a dig in on Brucas and almost every brucas fan has to get a dig in on Leyton. It is ridiculous.
If I had my wish Peyton would end up with Jake (they are my favorite couple beside naley) and Brooke would end up with Chase or Joe. Lucas would end up with someone else.
To all you Leyton fans, if I couldn't have Jeyton I would be very happy with leyton BUT there is only so long a storyline can go on before I get annoyed with it. If Leyton gets one more try and can't make it work then, they should move on. This storyline is getting REALLY boring. Especially because A LOT of people love Jeyton or Brucas or Lindcas or anyone else that Lucas and Peyton have been with. And A LOT of other people don't mind one or more of those couples. They may not be there favorite but they still like them that proves that OTH should not be based around Leyton. Leyton does not have as strong of a fan base as a couple like Naley. They do not have the fan base that a be-all-end-all couple SHOULD have. And if you are going to string out a storyline this far you kinda need a HUGE fan base, at least in my eyes, because a lot of fans are going to get REALLY mad, if you keep a storyline going too long.
And to all you Brucas fans. Chad and Sophia all ready have to work with each other lets not make it any harder for them. Plus I don't know how they could cross the "more then friends line" because of how GOOD of friends they are.

First of all, why am I seeing all of these comments about BL in here? I thought this was a discussion about LP. Anywho, I have shipped LP from day one and have never waivered in my faith for them. Not for a second. Mark said it best himself: "From the Pilot, we created a world where Lucas and Peyton are meant to be together." I still believe that has been the intention all along and that they WILL be together in the end. Sure there have been ups and downs and bumps along the way, but the thing that has never changed is their love for one another. You can see it in every single scene of theirs from every single season no matter what anyone else tries to say. These two are the main reason I watch the show and no matter what else I have had to endure, I have always known that they will find their way back. I will end with another quote from the show that I think sums up LP and their incredible story so beautifully: “The love you professed will always be there. The spark of something undeniable, a seed of hope, the truth, for better or for worse, burning fiercely just below the surface.” The embers still remain....

I just have to comment again because people are being ridiculous. Stop getting on their case because they asked a legit question. Please tell me why LP fans are surprised that Blers are putting their two-cents in. I bet if this topic was about Brucas, we would have a lot of LPers giving their opinions. At the end of the day were all One Tree Hill fans so I think it’s fair for all of us to have opinions on each couple.

I also think it’s ridiculous to have responses like leyton forever & brucas forever. Give real answers in why you think they should end it or get back together. My feelings about LP have always remained constant. I belive these are two people who truely belong togther. I guess I see things a little differently than most do in this whole mess (triangles). Maybe it is age, maybe it is my flawed past. But....Firstly, Lucas [B]IS[/B] the most to blame in any of the triangle (rectangle, or rectangle + 1 as Brooke put it in S1) scenario.

He was the one in the relationship, meaning, he should have put a stop to anything that happened. Yes, Peyton initiated a kiss in both CCIPC and during the school shooting, however, during a time of distress, emotions are generally high, and it is difficult to fight them. The thing was, as soon as everything was said and done, she regretted it and tried to bury things so that she wouldn't hurt Brooke. In S1, Lucas continued, telling her he "needed" to be with her, even when Peyton said they needed to end things. Lucas may have needed to be with her, but if that was the case, he should have ended things with Brooke, prior to starting up things with Peyton.

And of course, since CW is repeating S5, and my hubby made a good observation this week, when he said, "Lucas could have avoided everyone's heartache if he would have just been honest with Lindsey about his feelings." Bear in mind that my hubby has of late been ticking me off telling me that it really was Brooke that he called, because they always had a connection. Of course, now that he is rewatching S5 he says that he always thought LP were meant to be. Aarg...can he make up his mind? But he likes to play devil's advocate that way.

But anywho...the bottom line is I really think it comes down to both Peyton and Lucas' childhoods as to why they are the way they are. Lucas is the child of a single mother, who although I think she didn't mean to, inadvertantly caused some of the problems with Dan herself. She refused to allow him to get joint custody of Lucas, which in Dan's mind meant "Game on". Then any love Dan had for Lucas became buried in an attempt to use him as a tool to hurt Karen. Also, as the series went along, I saw some parental alienation from Karen regarding Dan. I don't care what you feel about your ex, you never voice it to your child, no matter what age the child is. I think Lucas felt a great deal of anger and resentment at the fact that he never had the childhood he wanted and really, deserved. Lucas always wanted Dan's approval and love, as any kid wants. He unfortunately was made to feel as though he was the "inferior" son, while Nathan was the "chosen" son. He did have a good relationship with Keith, the father role model he needed, but then when he lost him, I think that took a part of Lucas with his death.

Peyton...well, where do we start with her. Lied to about who she was all her life. Two dead moms (one of which she had only recently gotten the opportunity to really know). A psycho stalker. An absentee father. Shot in the library, by the former friend of the man she loved. Her first real relationship with a Class A jerk (Nathan). And later, a best friend that used her tragedy and made it into jokes to get even for her "stealing" her man.

The bottom line is these are two very fractured people. Both of these people desperately desire family. I honestly think that is what drew Peyton to Jake. Not necessarily that she was in love with Jake (as her saying "I love you Lucas" in her sleep proves), but she was in love with the idea of being in a family. Lucas is the same way. I think that is why he jumps so freely into relationships. I honestly think Lucas is desperately afraid of being alone. He seriously loved Peyton, but when he couldn't have her, he went with other relationships to satisfy that desire of being with someone. Lindsey really played into that well. Lindsey really loved Lucas, and she offered him that family he wanted (and he loved her father too, replacing the father role-model he no longer had).

I get upset when I hear people talk about how Peyton has given up a chunk of herself while "pining" for Lucas. Because people forget how connected these two people really are. How many very difficult life experiences has Lucas been there for her? Her dad potentially being dead. Ellie. Psycho Derek. And...he carried her bleeding out of the school. This isn't a traditional relationship. The problems they both have faced are not normal.

Really, I don't see a need for major redemption. Peyton "gets" Lucas. She understands the pain he is feeling. It doesn't mean that it hurts any less, but she really gets it. I don't need redemption. Peyton doesn't. The thing is, she has never been insecure in Lucas' love. Lucas' other girlfriends have been insecure, because Lucas always gave them reason to doubt. But, when Lucas was with Peyton, it was obvious that he gave himself in whole to her. That will happen again. It really will. I can't wait, because honestly, Lucas completes Peyton. He brings out things in her that show her to be a stronger person. Peyton completes Lucas. He is a better person with her.

I know I rambled, but...I just can't wait to see S6...to see where Lucas and Peyton's relationship goes. I think our time really has come.

Leyton.. oh my god! Get over them already! It's clearly shown in season 5 how they DO NOT fit together, AT ALL, they are not meant to be.. their love ISN'T true!
Their storyline is boring, they just.. they are better as friends!
I tell you guys, it's not good for them to keep doing this. They only hurt each other.. they really don't know what to do with the love when they're together.
I mean, if it was true love, Lucas would have never gave up on her! Just because she 'didn't say YES'. He should have understood, and gave it a little more time.
But when you look at Brucas, you can just see how much they really loved/love each other! Sure, they were both getting hurt many times, but face it that it was ALWAYS Peyton's fault! If it wasn't for her, i am sure of that they would still today be together, prob. even married. It's just that Peyton makes them believe that they are not good together. But he is always there for her, she is always there for him.
Now is that love or what?
One more thing.. season 5 was, to be honest, pretty much just boring. I even have some friends that have stopped watching the show, or just got sick of season 5 because of this worn out Leyton thing!
I want my 'old' OTH back! The interesting, fun, and to be honest even more mature show. Come on Mark, dont do the Leyton thing! It's to worn out man!

Lucas and Peyton are meant to be TOGETHER, they have always been, every single sign in OTH led us to believe in their story and therefore in their reunion, because "It is always been Lucas and Peyton" and if the show wont end up this way, it would lose its credibility. It would mean that the whole story was fake and misleading, which I believe it can't be...if they created such a beautiful story they surely have the possibility to give it the right conclusion, which means Lucas and Peyton finally together...for good.

I love Lucas and Peyton. They are the couple that make you believe in true and undeniable love. Well they do for me.

Season 1 had absolutely undeniable chemistry, attraction and a connection. But then Lucas and Brooke came along, i truly believe that she was a distraction for Lucas. After all they were young at that point and i think the way Lucas and Peyton felt for eachother wasn't normal high school love and this made them scared.
The whole reason Brooke was introduced to Lucas was to put an obstacle in LP's path, just my oppinion. I mean, really, what is a TV show without drama?

Season 2 was a tricky one, but i think that both Peyton and Lucas realised they'd messed up and decided to distance themselves. But the few conversations they did had i could just see the connection back again and the chemistry.

Season 3 showed LP's connection resurfacing and what showed me totally that their feelings for eachother never left was when Lucas said, 'It's always going to be there isn't it? You and me'
That just showed me that somehow they would find their way back to eachother.
However in season 3 i do believe Brooke and Lucas fell in love, they did love each other. But they had a high school love.

Season 4 brought Lucas and Peyton's relationship to full circle. As Brooke said, 'People who are meant to be together find their way in the end' and after four seasons LP found their way. The similarities between season 4 and season 1 were subtle and it showed to me what they'd learnt and how, throughout it all, they couldn't shake how they felt about each other.

Season 5 wasn't all about Lucas and Peyton. I do remember seeing quite a lot of Lucas and Lindsey scenes (who i believe was another obstacle) and Brooke and Lucas scenes as well as Brooke helping Angie and Nathan and Haley's problems. Episode 505, for me, showed exactly what Lucas and Peyton's love was. He wants her when his dreams come true and when they don't, it doesn't matter either way because as long as she's there nothing else matters. If that doesn't scream 'meant to be' then, really, what else does?

I've rambled a lot, and haven't really got my point across. What i'm trying to say is that LP have a connection i haven't seen on TV before. That is why they will always be my ultimate TV couple because something just draws me to them.

Not everyone can see their love and i respect that. If i wasn't a shipper looking for the little signs then it would probably be hard to see. The bottom line is, though, that it's always there between them and it always will be and i think they should have another shot together.

I have tons more to say because there's a lot more that just shows they are 'meant to be' in my eyes, but i've already rambled quite enough. :P

Lucas and Peyton = True Love Always <3

I used to be a Brucas fan, because they were better together and the chemistry between Peyton and Lucas is not so good. But now I want them to be together, beacause Brooke deserves someone better than Lucas :-P Just get up together finally, Peyton is suffering so much, and Lucas is stupid if he doesn't see, that he is still in love with her. The "Brooke-Lucas-Peyton" love triangle was interesting, the "Peyton-Lucas-Lindsey" love triangle - not so much. It's a little boring already.

And in the beginning, Lucas wanted Peyton, he chose Peyton. He has never once pulled away when she has kissed him. Sorry, but theres only one girl he has ever stayed faithful to and its Peyton. Oh, and heres the thing; One Tree Hill IS NOT Dawsons Creek so stop living in the past. Brooke has made it clear she doesn't have feelings for Lucas, whilst Peyton spent the whole fifth season pining over him.

I don't think its a fair thing for Brooke, Lucas fans to expect Chad and Sophia to put away their past so they can have the outcome they want.

Even if it is just acting it would still be hard. I imagine for a while there it was probably hard enough for both of them to just see each other every day.

Can you honestly sit there and say anyone who is with Lucas or Peyton, whether it be Brooke, Lindsey, Jake, whoever, could be happy with them?
Especially Brooke?! With her knowing everything she knows about Leyton? Why put her through that? Quite frankly, she deserved better!!

ok first things first i think lucas and peyton have tried too hard and they just are not the couple they used to be.

I am a brucas fan but i will admit since i have seen every episode of the show since it started that lucas and peyton did have amazing chemistry in season 1 and i do believe that the writers intended to put lucas and peyton together from the beginning BUT.......things change! brooke and lucas had awesome chemistry in season 1 but lucas was not over peyton and while i do think it was horrible what leyton did to brooke (esp. peyton) it gave brooke and lucas even better build up to their real relationship in seasons 2 and 3. for the first time on the show we got to see lucas not brood and just have fun and truly be in love with out all of the drama that came along with peyton. leyton fans need to realize that before leyton got back together the first 8 episodes of season 4 showed lucas trying to get back together with brooke because he was heart broken when she broke up with him. and the main reason that leyton got together was because brooke gave the o.k. for lucas to go after peyton i think many lp fans forget that.! brooke sacrificed her true feelings for lucas to be a good friend to peyton even though they were not friends at the time and that shows how great of a friend that brooke is.

also in season 3 when peytons dad told her to follow her heart who did she run to and go see......JAKE!

season 4 was the worst season of one tree hill i have seen (except the occasional cute naley scene) other than that it was a waste of my time. but i stuck with the show because i knew for season 5 they would skip ahead and hopefully drop some of the old used storylines. but turns out season 5 could have been renamed lucas and peyton hill becuase the entire season revolved around peyton whining because she told lucas no and then lucas moved on and she wasnt happy about it. throughout this entire series peyton has never really known what she wants. and she only wants lucas when he is happy with someone else(lucas even said this in season 5) but i think that the writers and mark esp. have been holding on to this leyton thing since the beginning and i dont think he will give it up unfortunately.

and i read some of the leyton commenters saying that brucas fans were satisfied with the two of them being just friends....and i have to disagree with that...while it is good that we actully have scenes together do you honestly think we wouldnt rather see lucas with brooke and for the two of them to have more romantic scenes rather than scenes with the two of them as friends and you can tell when the two of them have just friendly scenes that the connection they had is still there....and brooke is not over lucas and i dont think she ever has been!!!!!

Some of them did go to college, they skipped those years though. When season 4 ended, they had graduated high school and were 17/18. When they started the 5th season, they were 21/22.

Okay, I think that Lucas and Peyton are going to become a couple by the end of the series finale of this show. The whole show is practically based upon the two of them hooking up and breaking up. As soon as you think that they're going to get back together, something occurs to break them apart and then they regret breaking up later.I think that the producer is going to have Lucas put a ring on Peyton's finger by the end of the series. I don't think that they'll have another Brooke/Lucas romantic relationship because...well...the whole Chad and Sophia divorce thing would be kind of weird to see them hook up again on screen. Besides, if he marries anyone else, he's basically going to cheat on them with Peyton. But, I have a question for everyone, why haven't they gone to college? Why did they skip that? Are they trying to teach today's youth to just skip college and go for your dream career?

I am going with the "Leyton needs to give up" option.
They had their chance, they've had numerous chances but they can never make it work. When their relationship first began in season one it was based on cheating and lies, and even now years later they are still doing the same thing.
I won't argue that Lucas and Peyton are drawn to each other, but just because you want something doesn't mean it is right for you.
And if Peyton is the girl Lucas chooses to go to Vegas with him, it even furthers my point. If he truly believed Peyton was the one for him, if he truly wanted to be married to her, he would not be rushing into a ridiculous, and completely unromantic wedding in Vegas, right after he told her he hated her. He wants to be married, he wants a family, and Peyton is the easy pick because she wants him... But in the end if all boils down to the same thing, they aren't in love with each other, they're in love with the idea of each other.

Honestly...during season 1 I was all about Leyton...and even though I thought Brooke and Lucas were awesome together, it was still that element of just having fun with Lucas...I still slightly pulled for Peyton and Lucas because they had that connection...but watching the season 2 and seeing the way Lucas seemed to almost forget about Peyton and gravitate towards Brooke I started leaning more Brucas...and I think this is a part alot of leyton fans forget or just like to ignore all together but Lucas did choose who he wanted to be with...He could have chosen Peyton right then and there but he chose Brooke...It didn't matter to him that Peyton was slipping away, it mattered that Brooke Davis might not care for him anymore...Why? Because he couldn't picture his life without her...I see why leyton fans want to say leyton is true love and blah blah blah but that connection they had when they 16 isn't there anymore...they were sixteen and I think because they had this deep bond because they could relate their tragic pasts to one another they thought this must mean something...And I think it's possible to be soulmates with someone without being their lover...You don't have to be in love with someone to undertand them...I think Lucas finds that out once he falls for Brooke and I think it's scary for both of the characters because they are aware they are teenagers and their aware how much they hurt each other but their aware how much they love one another and in high school they didn't know how to handle that...Nathan and Haley had the maturity to handle that deep love, even though at times they couldn't fully understand it...But to me true love is demonstrated when I look at Brucas...And I guess I'm biased because I understand that feeling of loving someone so much but being afraid at the same time...when I was in high school I loved this boy, he was my best friend (still is) and one day he asked me out but everyone in school (we went to a small school like Tree Hill) found out and they shoved it in my face that he wasn't meant for me, that we were too different...Like people shove Peyton down Lucas' and Brooke's throat, the people at my school shoved this other girl down my throat (his ex-girlfriend and a very good friend of mine)and I got scared..so scared that even though I had been dying to hear him ask me I told him no...but you know what, it's amazing, because it's been three years and him and that girl that everyone deemed he was meant to be with because they were so perfect together don't even speak now yet we talk every night and hang out whenever our schedules allow it...we're having our first official date fourth of july...and I guess that's why I'm a Brucas fan and think they are what's real because I've been there...and it's why I think Leyton needs to hang it up...In high school it's amazing the people you can be connected to but Lucas and Peyton grew up and they grew apart...different experiences make you different people and I don't know how you can claim to love someone after not talking to them in three years...you can't love them for anything more than for what they were in the past because you don't know who they are now...So I won't give up on Brucas because they do know each other now and they are there for each other without any alternative motives...besides Lucas remembers Brooke and the time they spent together or why else would he remember a purple monkey? it's random but he paid attention to it and he still remembers...

so Leyton give it up because the angst and the drama is over played and I don't believe it anymore...

Okay so wow that was a lot can't believe I just read all of that...can't even remeber everything I wanted to say but her it goes...
1) Everyone keeps saying how the LP relationship has been dragged out for like 5 seasons and all that but really seasons 2 & 3 almost completely ignored them. The only times their was anything romantic between them was toward the end of season 5 other than that it was all Brucas
2)I think that the reason Peyton and Lucas have so many problems admitting what's in their hearts for each other had everything to do with all the lost they've both suffered throughout their lives. In season 1 Peyton was a mess I'll admit that and she ran out on him and denied her feeling for him, but she had just gotten out of this totally emotional abusive relationship with Nathan and didn't know how to deal with the weight of Lucas' feelings for her and once she did he had already jumped into bed with her best friend because it was easier. Which is something Lucas does over and over the boy never learns from his mistakes and ends up breaking hearts because his true feelings always come out in the end. Lucas has this very real fear of being rejected because of what happened with Dan so he goes for what's safe because everything else just hurts to much. But beyond all their crazy problems when things are good for Leyton they are good. They are amazing together and constantly confiding in each otherr. Season 4 was the first time they were really TOGETHER and it was amazing.

I love Brucas!! They are one of the
best couple to grace our televisions!! Since they dated(got married) they will always have the best chemistry!! I am not saying I hate Leyton or anything but after a while they just get kind of boring!! They always go in the same circle!! Either Lucas is with another girl and Peyton decides she want him or they get together for a while them something pulls them apart!! Even though Peyton my be Lucas soulmate, Brooke and Lucas's love will always be the best!! Hopefully in the end it will have a Dawson's Creek ending like where Joey( Lucas) tells Dawson(Peyton) that he(she) will always be her(his) soulmate and will always love him, but then she(he) end up with Pacey(Brooke)!! I have really enjoyed watching the relationship between Lucas and Peyton evolve over the years. Their relatinship has been the central part of the show, so for a "true" fan to hate them together or to hate one the characters makes me think that they do not completely understand this show. It isn't about the real live actors and their unending sagas or what drama is going on in their lives; this show is many things including the connection between the kid who didn't feel like he belonged and the girl he pined for. Lucas has and will always come back to Peyton.

As for Lucas and Peyton's other significant relationships, they have brought them to where they are today and LP have jumped through those hurdles so that now hopefully they are ready to begin a relationship with deep love and commitment. Honestly, I believe that they will be together, and it's dumb to think that just because the characters have made mistakes in the past is a reason for them not to be together.

I have not read many of these comments, but I did glance over one that used Brooke's "People who are meant to be together always find their way in the end" quote; I laugh when I see that because as the podcast girls have pointed out it seems that after she said that Lucas thinks about him and Peyton and that things will work out ok for them.

What would Friends have been if Ross and Rachel had gotten together right in the middle of its first season?

Would it have been as big of a success? Maybe, but in my opinion probably not. A huge chunk of the cliffhangers of that show, of season driving story arcs were based around their relationship.

My point is that MANY other successful shows in the past have also had a "will they won't they couple" that helps to drive the storylines and that couple is NEVER put together right away.

The writers can't do much more than set up that future romance early on and then if they do it well they'll find ways to keep them apart for as long as possible.

Guess what? Brooke and Lucas wasn't some game-changing relationship that suddenly rewrote what I saw in the pilot episode.

She was an obstacle the writers put in the way of bringing Lucas and Peyton together and it worked extremely well. They really didn't get together with the exceptions of a few kisses in season 1 until season 4.

They couldn't go back down that road in season 5 so PRESTO! There's Lindsay (Which I felt wasn't as well done as the Lucas Brooke relationship was.)

Thats the way I see it.

Arguments that you don't see chemistry or you're just plain tired of it aren't really the best. You're gonna see chemistry with whoever you want Lucas to be with and you're gonna think he's best with the person you want him to be with no matter what the other actress does with her part.

Arguments based on ZOMG BRUCASSS! 4EVA!!1!!1! or LEYTUN is TEH BOMB-DA-DANG-DA-DIGGITY yO! are even worse and I've seen quite a few of those posts.

My heart has always belonged to Leyton... but as of Season 5, I'm kinda thinking Brooke and Peyton are too good for Lucas. Especially Brooke. In my opinion, Leyton should end it. I thought it was unnecessary for everyone and their mothers to root for Leyton in S5. It was stupid and it makes me dislike them even more as a couple. If they are a good couple, then the audience can see that. Like someone below said, it is suffocating to watch the serie when almost all the characters are being Leyton cheerleaders. If they are meant to be, then the audience should be able to see. We have Leyton fans going around spreading their love and how they are soulmates, we don't need that on the show too. I seriously think the amount of screen time given to Lucas & Peyton as a couple can be used for some other better storyline.

As a couple, they bring out the worst in each other, with huge disregard to the people around them. I'm sure Whitey and Camille hurt a lot of people in the process until they got together.

Plus, look at Peyton this season. She was a horrible character, throwing water balloons at bystanders, nasty attitude with Lindsey, trying to steal Lucas away from Lindsey, etc. Love shouldn't be that way. It should bring the best out of two people, not deception, selfishness, and pain.

For people below that says they want Peyton & Lucas together, well hello, they were together in S4. They were so "great" together that nothing interesting ever happened with the relationship (ie, they were boring as a couple). Then they managed to break up over something that is suppose to be endearing to couples, and managed to not talk to each other for years. What kind of love is that?

Leyton may have their issues, but they are definitely the "forever" type of relationship. Believe me, I think that Peyton could do much better than Lucas, but they both love each other so much that all the pain will eventually be worth it. This ship has been planned out by Mark to be together since the show began.
For the record, I'm not dissing Brucas. I know that Lucas did love Brooke, but his love for Peyton has lasted so much longer. The fact that they still care for each other now despite all their time apart doesn't mean that the love is done, it means that their love is inevitable. No matter who they date, they always realize that in their hearts they love each other, and that's what soulmates are all about.
The quote that Brooke said to Lucas, "People who are meant to be together always find their way in the end", applies to Leyton. Especially since at the time that Brooke told him that, Lucas wanted to be with Peyton instead.
But aside from that, Leyton has a realistic relationship. People break up, but with these two, you can always tell that they still love each other, even if they're trying to hide it.
I don't know about you guys, but a relationship like Brucas had is not true love. I wouldn't want to constantly argue with my boyfriend, and I wouldn't want to always be paranoid about my guy loving another girl.

Pucas sucks! "Meant to be" was a recent invention to make them seemingly have a deep history! Brooke & Lucas have the real history!

Lucas and Peyton are meant for each other Scwann has said it several times. Even when they weren't romantically involved they were always friends cause they need to be in each others lives. The only reason Lucas runs and goes after other girls/ peyton goes after other guys is because their afraid to get hurt. They love each other so much that losing each other is so hard for them they just avoid it all together. LP is an epic romance because it's been through so much yet they still can't get over each other. He wrote 2 books about her for god sakes.
There will never ever be anyone else in either of their lives who understands them or could love them better.

First thing's first: there was a comment above that was made by Natasha... THANK YOU! She posted a bunch of quotes that spoke for themselves as far as proof of why Lucas and Peyton are meant to be together and how obvious their love for each other is, regardless of season.

Now, I can completely understand why people are tired of Leyton. Especially at this point where Lindsey was introduced. I personally think that Lindsey ruined it. Yeah shes a great character but given the history of the show, she was out of place and dragged the show.

What a lot of Brucas fans do not seem to realize is the history involved in the Leyton chemistry. Why would Mark, the genius that he is, declare in episode 1 of season one the very strong chemistry between them and not follow through? It was obvious that he did it for a reason and he never regrets that choice. Brucas from the start was all about sex. NO LOVE! Regardless if Lucas kept saying how much he cared about her and claimed to love her, it wasn't real. Lucas wanted more from Peyton and thats why when he had his first chance with her, he said that he wanted *everything* with her and pointed to her heart. It wasnt about sex. Brooke just wanted to bang him and eventually Lucas gave in. He never took the time to love her *first* before that.

This discussion can go on for ages but the facts are obvious. Leyton are destined to be together in the show. And soon enough we will see it happen.

Mark has already made it perfectly clear that Brucas fans can be happy in the sense of seeing those two together but as FRIENDS. Right now they have a different level of love and it's not about the romance. they've grown past that.

As much as I adore and LOVE Peyton with Jake, Lucas will always be the one she is meant to be. Granted I am not crazy about Lucas right now because he's acting like an idiot this season and Jake is like beyond perfect for her lol but I dont think that Mark will do that given the situation everyone is in.

And regardless if Lucas said that he wanted to marry Lindsey, that does not mean that he stopped loving Peyton. He wanted to marry Lindsey because he wanted to get over Peyton and move on even tho deep in his heart he knew that wasnt going to happen but he tried to fight destiny and Lindsey saw right through it. Let's just see what happens because what every fan MUST remember and realize is that this show has so much more details and storylines from what we see. We must dig deeper and analyze their actions and speech. Everything is put in place for a reason. In other words: "Read between the lines" and THEN thats when you will truly appreciate what Mark has done in this show.

This was a horrible discussion to open up. As you guys already know there is a huge division in the OTH fandom regarding Leyton/Brucas.

I am a Leytoner. Reading comments like "Leyton sucks" or that they are "loosers" just shows the immaturity of that fan base. It's a testament to the Brucas relationship really. Immature, insecure, needy...etc. The Brucasers need to bash LP and "prove" to you guys and to Mark that their couple is better just shows why they're not.

Am I upset that Mark has put people between LP? Sure. But that is real life. People break up and try to move on. I have done it in my own relationship. But I could never get over that one person regardless of how hard I tried. What makes me believe in Lucas and Peyton is that despite other people, distance, years of time something remains. When they saw each other after 3 years they STILL felt something. If that is not meant to be I don’t know what is.

if im going to be 100% honest answering this question i think leyton needs to give it up. i think the only peoples opinion on this question that matter are people who have seen every single episode of oth. seeing as that i have all the seasons on dvd and have rewatched them numorous times, i feel that leyton do not belong together. again, if im being honest, in season one it was clear to ANYONE that they should be together. But then something amazing happend. lucas peyton and brooke decided to just be friends. But lucas chose BROOKE over peyton. I saw the chemistry between Lucas and Peyton in the first season. There was no denying that they were the set-up couple, the one that was "meant to be". But the dynamics of the show changed as well as the characters.

Should Lucas and Peyton give it another shot or just have the whole thing dropped like a hot potato? My opinion is the latter. They're both different people now. True, they may have the same dreams, individual dreams when they were younger, but do those dreams include each other.? We know where Peyton stands based on last season. But Lucas did move on with Lindsey. He was moving forward.

They should move on, but not with each other. With someone new, someone from the past..someone that they truly deserve. And they deserve a friendship, but romance just isn't in the cards for them.

I don't understand why Leyton is being portrayed as "epic". All they had for majority of the show is a friendship. Seeing the two together romantically makes me think of incest. They are more like brother/sister because of their friendship. I don't see the chemistry there at all. Peyton only wants Lucas when she can't have him and then when they get together, there is nothing there! Really, if you watch the show, they were only together for maybe two months before she went to LA and then for the next year, they only saw each other twice. Lucas proposes and gets rejected by Peyton. A year later, he is expecting her to show at the book signing and when he didn't see her there, he moved on. Leyton is played out and they need to go back to their friendship. There has never been a real relationship with them and clearly Lucas has loved Lindsey and is now being drawn back to Brooke. Lucas has changed and so has Peyton. Peyton is trapped in the past and is too scared to move on. She needs to get over this obsession and let Lucas be happy with whoever he wants. Peyton is pathetic and needs to realize this isn't high school anymore and move on. They have both changed since high school and don't have a chance of "rekindling" whatever Leyton was supposed to have portrayed. They are hardly meant to be and it personally makes me sick to see them portrayed in that manner. Here's to hoping that Lucas and Peyton are both given more of storyline that will expand their characters instead of stifling them.

I'm obviously totally in the "they need to give it up" camp. I'm not even going to make this a Brucas vs Leyton or Jeyton vs. Leyton thing. Leyton just doesn't scream epic couple to me. If anything, that's Naley (and I don't even really ship them but they're obviously the meant-to-be couple of the show, not Leyton).

Besides the fact that Leyton are totally boring (being holed up in a dark dreary room listening to emo music while one reads and the other draws freaky death sketches isn't all that appealing to me, sorry) and so alike they couple be twins, I don't see them as an "epic" or even good couple because all they do when they're together is hurt each other and those around them. Their relationship is absolutely selfish and always comes at the expense of others. They never even seem to care about each other until there's someone else involved. The writers are trying to shove this whole "they're meant to be" junk down our throats but I'm not buying it. How about instead of having everyone and their grandmother telling me that Leyton are supposed to be together, show me instead maybe? The writers might have meant for them to be this legendary couple at the start, but they totally screwed up the follow through. They had a connection in the beginning and then after that, they barely interacted for a couple of seasons. That is until one day a bunch of people told Lucas he was supposed to be with Peyton and by the end of the episode he had forgotten that just a few days ago he wanted someone else, and just went along with it.

How can a couple that's hardly even been together be epic? They had a short affair in the first season and then didn't get back together until midway through season 4 (when he was told to be with her, he didn't have some moment of clarity like some people like to claim). They basically lasted the rest of the season and then the majority of their short lived relationship was spent with them on different sides of the country from one another.

They only reason I see people even considering them as an epic couple is because everyone on the show keeps telling the viewers they are. That's not enough for me. If the 2 of them end up together in the end, then it's because they deserve to be miserable together, not because they're somehow a new age Romeo and Juliet. All these 2 have ever taught me is that if you cry enough and if hurt enough people, you'll get what you want in the end.

Leyton rocks!!! Someone previously commented its because chad and sophia split in real life why there is a leyton and not a brucas, something like that. That person obviously have not seen all 1-5 season. Am not being rude, just commenting.

Leyton need to give up. They were ok in season 1 (before he started to date Brooke) but in all the other seasons if they were a couple or not they were boring and annoying (see season 4). I think truly Peyton was herself when she was with Jake and I don't think Lucas dosen't deserve anyone after how he screwed it up with both Brooke and Lindsay.

I personally think Leyton have lost whatever spark they had. I find their storylines tired and lacklustre. I'm pleased for the fans that love them that they got to see them together in Season 4 as they've been waiting a long time but they do nothing for me. If I was a Leyton fan I'd be more the disappointed with the way they've been written, I guess they’ve had what you could call ‘Leyton angst’ this season but it just seems that they’re obvious reconciliation has been dragged and dragged out some more by the writers. I just don’t get them, either I find them boring and without spark or sickly sweet (the cookie dough scene last year), so much that it makes me nauseous! Yes I am Brucas fan but I don't believe in disliking one couple because it means your couple won't be together, I think that's stupid. In fact I think it’s so silly that I've tried to understand Leyton, tried to like them but I'm sorry to say I just don't get it. In Season One I can maybe see it… when they both were searching for answers, something more... they both had the broody, mysterious thing going and it connected them at first but now they seem too similar... they don't bring anything to each other. To me they just have no spark and little chemistry. They make good friends not lovers. To me Brooke and Lucas are very different and thanks makes for such a nice balance. After all they do say that opposites attract! ;)

The problem with Leyton, for me, is that they've been too hyped up and almost forced upon us. They whole comet and 'meant to be' stuff is shoved down our throats. It's like they're not giving fans a choice. And you have characters like Skills being, what some fans refer to as, ‘Leyton cheerleaders’, constantly championing the couple. And then there was Bevin saying she thought Lucas and Peyton would have married. There’s just so many Leyton meant to be this and that’s that I find it difficult to watch, sometimes almost like I can’t breathe... I feel like I'm being told by the writers to like Leyton... and I’m sorry, I don't!

I fell in love with another couple, Brucas... I never believed they would get back together. I'll never forget my surprise at that kiss Lucas gave Brooke in the Season Two finale. I love TV when it surprises us, shocks up. Brucas were never planned but they became popular and the writers changed their path. It was such an amazing turn off events. Perhaps that’s why it felt so natural. Leyton are predictable and it’s boring me to tears. But Brucas… their chemistry is off the chart. And then there was Jake and Peyton; their relationship just seemed to grow... so organic, so natural. I find I enjoy and love the character of Peyton much more when she’s with Jake and not mourning over Lucas. How bitter and bitchy she has been for some of this Season… the things she said to Lindsey, not the Peyton I thought I knew. She seemed much more independent; starting Tric, doing things by herself when Jake was in the picture etc It's boring to watch her brood over Lucas. And it's silly she would be in love with him for so many years after they broke-up, I find that hard to believe... sorry writers.

And what’s more Leyton are made out to be this ‘epic’ sort of love. Have the writers forgotten that Leyton just lusted after each other in Season One, they were never a proper couple that year. Brooke was Lucas’s first love, as he was hers. Yet all we hear now is Leyton this, Leyton that… I just find it overwhelming to watch.

I know Chad and Sophia are professionals, and while I respect how difficult it must be to film romantic scenes, I can't help but think we have no more Brucas because of their split. I'm not saying we would have had Brucas forever, they may have split but I believe things would have been different. They would most likely have got back together. Chad and Sophia's spilt messed up their (the writers) game plan and I think that’s why Leyton feels so out of place and awkward because things had to be changed. All in all, I feel Leyton are good as friends but their romantic relationship has been forced upon fans and has become dragged out and boring. I’m glad the Leyton fans got to see their couple together but no matter how hard I try, I just can’t see what they see. Too many fans are too loyal to the show to demand more or disagree with the pairings of couples… they’re happy to take what ever they can get it. Not that it matters what I have to say, it seems pretty clear to me that we’re going to get Leyton as endgame, at least some of the fan base will be thrilled… I just won’t be one of them.

My opinion? Lucas and Peyton need to give it up. They were really good in the beginning of season 1, but then everything has changed. It's just...I stopped enjoying their scenes together. I don't like them in the rest of the season 1, then in the end of season 3. And then in season 4. But the worst season for them is season 5 (in my eyes). Too much drama, tears, hate etc.

So it means they were the best in season 2 and most of the season 3. I guess I like them as friends 'cause they understand each other.

although i saw their connection in season 1, and even though i didnt like it, i still thought they should be together, since then i do not get the vibe that they belong together or even really want to be together.

I feel like every time they hit a slight snag in their relationship they both bail on each other, and both of them have made greater sacrifices for other people (lucas for lindsay and brooke and peyton for jake)

honestly i think this whole situation sucks for mark because the whole thing at the beginning was just good drama..a love triangle always is good drama. But Im not sure that he really thought about how much its gonna suck at the end when you have to choose who Lucas is really going to BE with. Brooke is my favorite character I love her sooo much. But at the start of the show she was supposed to be, idk kinda slutty i guess you could say lol. I don`t get what Leyton fans and Mark think when they say that Leyton are soulemate. Seriously!, if they were soulemate they probably would have solved everythin out by now. I'm going to make my way over to the 'Leyton Needs to Give It Up' camp.

I mean, season 1, fair enough it seemed like it was going to be something epic, but after a while the angst and the heartbreak and the 'we are soul mates' thing got really old.

To be honest, if they were going to get Leyton together, and by this I mean properly together, they should have done it ages ago, because as it stands now I think their chemistry has gone pretty stale.

So basically I'd rather they let Leyton go, because it's far too tiring.

Although having said that, if the writers went down the Leyton route, and they managed to make it fresh and new and angst-free, I would be pleasantly suprised.

Im a hardcore NH fan, so I don't really care about BL/LP. But I must say I prefer Brucas before Leyton.

Leyton is True Love Always. I feel bad for people who don't see that and who don't feel that. Brooke and Lucas were cute but didn't have the chemistry that Peyton and Lucas have. If you believe in True Love then you believe in Leyton!!!! It is as simple as that.

Leyton NEEDS to give it up! People grow apart and so have they. They don't have the same connection as Brucas, and they are just to cheesy. Jake was so much better for peyton, and so is brooke for Lucas. Pairing them with Brooke and Jake, they become fun couples who are worth watching. Besides, what is up with Lucas and "the one"? It changes like this, and then he is with a new girl, he said brooke was the one in season three, and I believe that people that are ment to be together always find their way in the end, please consider this, instead of just going Leyton. in the beginning of season5 and 1 through 4
i would of said YES!!. but now things have changed. we can clearly see peyton doesn't know want she wants. but when she finally decides what she wants it too late. like in season 1 when she finally realizes she wants be with Lucas, he is already with brooke. and season 5 when she regrets her decision of no when lucas propose to her, once again its too late. when peyton finally realizes what she wants it is usually too late. and like someone said lucas likes being chased by girls, and he clearly likes it that peyton is still madly in love with him. but now in my opinion i don't think they deserve each other. lucas and brooke caused a lot of pain to each other when she said no to him when he propose to her. and when lucas was with lindsey, and sending peyton mixed signals. and as far as im concerned leyton has lost its umph. but true love alwasy prevails. and someway somehow leyton is going to find a way to be together. but if they don't they are a big part of each other lives. and when we see them we will still see and feel a strong connection between them. because they changed each other into better people.

I was so excited for Season 5 and anticipated so much because Mark talked about all these different characters and different story lines. They kids have "grown up" and have these different life styles. Other than Jamie, I don't think they played it out really well throughout the season. For SOME REASON the season became more about Leyton than anything else. Even poor Brooke on the brink of finding some kind of happiness with Owen, POOF he's gone...then comes Angie...POOF SHE'S gone. But throughout the whole season it was nothing but how Leyton is meant to be together and how everyone was PRO Leyton. The writers were basically trying to shove Leyton down our throats! Trying to find something or some excuse to secure Leyton whereas letting the couple develop naturally together. Yes, I'm a Brucas fan, but I let that ship sail a long time ago. Although I did expect some Leyton throughout the season, I was hoping to see how the characters developed on their own under different circumstances. The whole Leyton thing being played on again was soooo High School. I would have loved for Peyton to pursue more things other than Mia. She seemed to have been doing more in High School than she is now. For example The Wreckers, Jimmy Eat World etc. I loved her passion and focus then. This season...it was all about, "Is Lucas looking at me? Is he really gonna marry Lindsey?"

All in all Season 5 I have to say was the worst. Even the Dan storyline got boring. They have been trying to kill him off since Season 2. Hello?? He's immortal!! I hope Season 6 brings in a little more excitement and no more of that boring, "yes, you're the one for me...no you're not."

I think that in order to comment on this, you have to watch all the seasons first to be able to act in a nice way.

This is a pointless discussion. If you know true love, then you know who are supposed to be together, and that is Lucas and Peyton. No couple in this series comes even close to the love they share, not even Nathan and Haley. It is a love so overwhelming that it has terrified them and driven them away from each other, but it also a love unconquerable and undeniable. Their love is epic and intricate, and they've been through a lot, but at the end of the day, they know they're meant to be together and they will.

Ok, first off, Peyton and lucas were high school sweethearts.Peyton can't honestly thing after 3 years and the fact that he was about to marry another women, that they were ment to be together.Leyton should be over with now after 5 seasons of drame. I really feel Lucas and Brook should give it another try because they both seem to have matured.

I do think that they should end this up, i mean come on, they always hurt each other, their story lines are like soooo boring, and well whatever i just dont think that they would survive as a married couple. Actually, I loved K/D in 90210 and I'm very thankful that they ended up together. And... there is no chance that this show ended without a Cheating-couple because Kelly Taylor is the QUEEN of triangles and as well Dylan as Brandon as her endgame would make a Cheating-Couple! The only difference is that people cry for Brenda, but never cry for Dylan when Brandon stole his bf gf! Pathetic...

I'm tired of those two. In my opinion they bring out each others worst sides and are just too alike to make a romantic relationship work. I enjoy them so much more as just friends. And alot of people don't agree with me on this one - but i really don't feel their chemistry. It's only really intense and hot when they're fighting and can't have each other, but then when they start dating it just gets so extremely boring. It doesn't surprise me that you guys don't like Lucas and Peyton together as a couple. You know why? They're an acquired taste. They're very intense and very unconventional for a couple on a teen drama show. They're complicated. They have a complexity no other couple has had on a show before. They're star-crossed lovers. Brooke and Lucas had that "cutesy" factor but let's get it real here: they're done.

No one besides Peyton will EVER feel secure with Lucas. That's why he ends up cheating on every other girl he goes out with but her. They always question his feelings and for GOOD reason. I'm sorry, but when you're dating another girl, you don't tell another woman, "I love being that guy for you." He was talking about protecting her and always being there for her. Minus season five, he's always been that person who made everything all right in her life.

The reason why Brooke dumped Lucas was because they didn't have a connection. She told him: "We go days without having a real conversation and I used to miss you so much when that happened, but it never seemed like you missed me." She was right. Most days when things would go wrong Lucas would seek comfort from Peyton. He was the girl he'd let in and open to up, the person he had no barriers with. That's why without her in his life in season five he was so guarded.

But they have such a raw, intense, grounded, quiet connection and it's been apparent so many times throughout the show. Even after so much has happened between them and after Lucas told Peyton he hates her, the understanding they have for one another never died. This was obvious when he showed up at Tric in the finale. All he told her was, "It was hard seeing you again, and it's still really hard." Lucas has always been a man of grand speeches. At that minute, he didn't elaborate because he didn't need to. The "I know, I know," response and little nods from both heads was enough to tell us that these are two people who just get each other.

They will never get rid of the emotions they have for each other. They won't. There is NO WAY they can ever be friends. The only way these two will be truly happy and satisfied is by being together. Of course they'd have a lot of issues to resolve now but they can do it.

And the ONLY reason this has been drawn-out is because Mark Schwahn likes to cater to the Brooke-Lucas fan base as well. So all these Brooke-Lucas fans who are complaining you should realize he's doing it for your sake. He has to string them along and for that he's tainting the main lead of the show.

But when it comes down to it, Lucas gave his heart to Peyton. He gave himself to her in a way that he never did with Brooke or Lindsey. And I don't believe he ever got it back.

Leyton may have been what the writers 'planned' and 'meant to start and end with' but that doesn't change the fact that they are five seasons in and are still playing the same pointless game of angsty will-they-won't-they. Clearly they don't work together in a stable relationship since we would have seen it by now.
Basically not only are they old news (that all too often pushes more interesting storylines to the backseat) but they both have way better chemistry with other people anyway! (ie jake, brooke, etc)

sarah is god. i agree with it all. im my opinion, i believe each show needs an angsty romance, and this show has 2. naley were the 'together forever' couple, with drama in between. while the oth camp needed a couple who would be able to bring in new relationship in order to show how much they needed to be together. brooke needed someone to show her she mattered and lucas was able to do that BUT leyton are together for more than just comfort. the bond is there, it just needs to be made by the writers in thier due time - for now...we need faith.

As OTH is a teen drama..obstacles have constantly been thrown in the way of these two, and at times, some of the writing has been questionable, but i have no doubt that LP were and still are OTH's major intended couple, right from the beginning. They just have this strong connection.

I would have to say that I am still hoping for Brucas. After all that's happened, I can't give up on the idea of the two together. A lot of people think that since Leyton started the series with a romantic connection, it automatically means that they're going to end in that way too. That better not be the case or at least it shouldn't. It just wouldn't make sense that after all the drama and confessions and everything else that Brucas went through, they would end things there. I'm still attached to the conversations that Lucas had about "I'm the one for you... she's the one for me... i've made two of these embarrassing speeches and they've both been with you... etcetc" i mean how could you honestly bounce back from that?? There's just too much to recover from, especially since the two grew closer.

i and even you guys can't deny the chemistry between brooke and lucas or even chad and sophia. it's a shame to let that kind of thing go to waste. the two are so cute when they have scenes together, and frankly i'm tired of brucas beating around the bush. it's like they're trying to hold back something that they just aren't allowed to show... because of peyton and because of lindsey.

i'm also caught up in what seemed like a foreshadow of brooke and lucas when she mentioned, "people who are meant to be together, always find their way in the end." oh i do hope!! [crosses fingers]

Some will definitely criticize but it could be argued that the show has to do with the love between the two. I mean, granted you have your other couples, but it's as if they're the background music.

Lucas & Peyton are truly meant to be. And yes, they are on-again off-again, but when they were with other people all they did was find their ways back to each other. Brooke knew they were meant to be, even though she still had feelings for Luke. Heck, Jake wouldn't let Peyton marry him because he knew her heart still belonged to Lucas. The others each were involved with, were only distractions/obstacles. Maybe Mark thinks the only way to add drama to the show is to throw a love triangle together. And even in S5 Lindsey was involved to show them how much they still loved each other. Peyton was the bigger person and "sacrificed" her feelings for him to be happy. But there is no denying he doesn't still love her because he told her, when she was "romancing" the guy behind the counter at the opening of Clothes/Bro's TH, that he wasn't good enough. And truthfully, had Peyton not gotten angry and told him that wasn't fair to her or Lindsey, they would have gotten back together right there.

But honestly, S5 was a waste, however over time I have grown to not passionately hate the finale, because I'm pretty positive that he called Peyton.

Here's why:
-He doesn't hate her.
-He saw her "I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU" Montage.
-Then he made the decision to call her.

After he visited the Rivercourt, he realized that there was no use being with anyone else. They were meant to be! She would never stop loving him, and vice-versa. Lindsey and Brooke don't hold the significance that Peyton does. Neither of the two went through as much with Luke as Peyton has.

And off-subject: Brooke needs to be w/ Owen or Chase, get married, start a family. Lindsey just needs to stay gone. Maybe Psycho Derek/Ian can escape and take care of her! *crosses fingers*

So the bottom line: Their art matters, it's what got them there!

Compare them to Joey and Pacey from Dawson's Creek or Meredith and Derek from Grey's. Both of those couples had more shots at making it work than Lucas and Peyton.

And I'm especially getting tired of hearing that Leyton is getting old and they have had their time and it's over. IT IS NOT OVER. Trust me. Like it was mentioned, Leyton has really only been together in Season 4.

Lucas and Peyton have this connection to me that is just so amazing, and their chemistry is something you just don't see everyday. Although for Leyton fans Season 5 was probably the most heart-wrenching for us, I do believe it was needed. They just needed a little time to find their way back together, and it looks like we might just get what we have been wishing for since the beginning of last season because I think Lucas is finally seeing what Peyton has tried making him see; that they are meant for each other.

I can't believe this is even a rational question. Are Lucas and Peyton meant to be together? Hands down, 100%, has never been another option. Every other person thrown in their way like Brooke or Jake has been merely a distraction from the obvious truth - Lucas and Peyton are meant to be together. From the pilot, it was clear cut that these two individuals came together because that's the way fate had always intended it to be.

So they have had their shares of ups and downs, what epic romance has not? It would be immensely boring had they been together this whole time and faced no issues. Leyton reminds me of a 90's couple that was just as horrible to watch on TV. There was a couple that goes by the name of Dylan McKay and Kelly Taylor on a TV show called 90210 that had a triangle very similar to the one we've seen on One Tree Hill.

I truly hope the writers of One Tree Hill have a better ending than end the show with two who started the show by cheating on girlfriend and best friend.

I hope we never have to relieve a moment like that on TV again.

It was not a good message to send out to young kids when 90210 ended their show with the "cheating" couple and I hope OTH has taken a lesson from that.

This is all hogwash. Leyton is meant to be and always has been meant to be. They're just dragging the will they or won't they storylines out way too long because that's what TV shows do. Wasting all last season on Lucas and some girl no one cares about (Lindsey) was a slap in the face to ALL fans of the show, especially the Leytoners. Most people were united in being disgusted by that. Now, there is only ONE satisfying outcome that will make the show worthwhile and that is having Lucas and Peyton finally end up together. If they waste it on Brucas or Lucas and Peyton with random characters then well over half the show's fan base will be very upset. I was disappointed and heartbroken at the end of Dawson's Creek when Joey and Dawson did not end up together, and Peyton and Lucas are 1000x more meant to be than they ever were. So I hope they get it right and give us one last season with Leyton together and happy so that the fans actually get to see that for once.

I completely agree with Jackie. I have never liked Leyton because I do not support cheating AT ALL. I could never get behind them even if I wanted to because of this. That's why I hate the Peyton character. She never knows what the hell she wants until the other person is happy. She broke Brucas up, twice and now she broke Lucas and Lindsey up. That's all she's good for and it's seriously annoying. Their time has passed and Peyton really needs to move on. Lucas is so much better with Brooke or Lindsey.

From the time I heard Mark Schwann say that he knew how this series was going to end from the moment he started it, I knew that he definitely had a bunch of tricks up his sleeve. If any of you have seen the very first episode of OTH, then you should know that Lucas and Peyton have always had a connection, even before they started dating. When Nathan and Lucas are playing 1 on 1 for the first time, and he looks at her after the game and they have this moment, you can tell that they are meant to be together. Was I a huge fan of Lucas and Peyton... for the longest time, no. I actually liked him better with Brooke, but then I realized that he does always save her and she saves him in a way too! So that tells me that fate brought them together in a bet in the first episode and that it will bring them together by the end as well!

Leyton are so boring...they should totally move on. Peyton should try to make her life without Lucas. They tried to be together twice and it didn't work at all...why would it work now?

In response to a previous comment about Naley, yes, they did have some problems, but it wasn't the same continuous problem. They really have only had two events happen (season2 and season5) but you knew they were going to make it through, and you KNEW that they loved each other. With Leyton, they don't know what they want. One minute they want each other, the next they don't. Honestly, it's getting tiring. I'm personally a Brucas fan, but I'm not going to mind all THAT much if Leyton ended up together. It's just the rollercoaster ride they are on. If they're going to end up together, let us see them in a functional relationship. Even in season 4 they had their problems. Honestly, after watching seven years of the Clana relationship (Smallville), I'm tired of it. No way do I want to continue watching the same script with a different cast.

I've said it soooo many times. That Peyton belongs with Jake because near the end of season 1 to near the end from season 3 the only boy she truly cared bout was Jake. I mean she cried when he left in season 2 and i don't think that Peyton has cried about Lucas not once from what I can recall at this minute. And when Peyton's dad gave that speech in season 3 about love I think? who did she turn to. Not Lucas but Jake. It really shows where her heart lies. AndI think if Jake was to marry some other girl Peyton would have said something at the wedding.

Throughout all five of the seasons I've seen the chemistry between the two of them. I truly believe they complete each other. The show started that way, and I think it should end that way as well. Yes, Lucas & Brooke had some happy times, but if he was all that complete with Brooke he wouldn't have cheated on her on more than one occassion with the same person: Peyton. And yes, Peyton had some happy times with Jake as well, but you could see how much she still loved Lucas. I am also a leyton fan. (I am more leyton these days then Brucas). But a storyline can only repeat itself so many times before it gets boring. If you are going to talk about them, us them as an example. Lucas/Peyton fell in love with Brooke/Jake proving that Leyton isn't meant to be. LEYTON NEEDS TO GIVE UP!!!!!!! END IT NOW….PLEASE JUST END IT

This love story has been played-OUT ever since it started. I never jumped on the LP ship just because they don’t make sense to me. Love has to be equal, meaningful, and at the perfect time. Let me say leyton has never been those things. In the beginning of season 1 Luke had a crush on Peyton. He knew nothing about this girl but was infatuated with her (wow never watched this kind of storyline before). Peyton didn’t reciprocate those feelings at all; she basically blew him off and was rude to him for no good reason. Love at first sight?? I would say not. There was a scene where Lucas lets Peyton know how he feels about her and she basically tells him that she only wanted sex and he ruined the moment, then leaves him standing there looking like a fool. This is what pisses me off because here is the Perfect time for Peyton to be with Lucas and she blows it. From there I knew this wasn’t the couple for me because they played games, and Peyton was going to be the girl that never knows what she wants.

Then Lucas moves on to Brooke, I want to say how refreshing it was to see these two as a couple. I saw changes in each of them that I thought I would never see. Luke brought Brooke down to earth and Brooke made Lucas confident and actually fun. At first it was rough but they both turned into characters I liked. This was a story of two different worlds coming together and trying to make it in a world that didn’t see them together. This was then ruined by a cheating Lucas & Peyton. Now how am I supposed to like a couple that cheats on a great person like Brooke. Brooke wasn’t perfect but she always cared deeply for her friends. Even when she did something bad she always took resposibility and tried to make up to the people she hurt. Lucas and Peyton are toxic to me at this point, they were the bad guy and it made sick to look at them when they were on screen together.

OK by season 2 I’m over them cheating, because both Lucas and Peyton has once again established a friendship with Brooke and with each other. I start to enjoy the journey that they were taking each character, and especially the friendship between Brooke & Peyton. Lucas has a talk with Nathan, He figures out Lucas had been hiding his heart and that he needed to tell the girl how he feels. Lucas now has a choice and ends up saying Brooke is in his heart and he had been lying to himself. Lucas came up with this conclusion all by himself; he’s open to pick Brooke or Peyton and He PICKED BROOKE! Lucas spends the whole season pining over Brooke Davis and having the biggest build up to the season finale where he finally says “I want to be with you Brooke” Season 3 happens with Lucas once again aching to be Brooke’s boyfriend, Brooke writing love letters to Lucas the whole summer, him making her apart of his world, Them saying there first “I Love You’s” to each other, Luke declaring his love for Brooke for about 8 times the whole season. All that gets shot to hell with one kiss, a kiss that was initiated by Peyton and meant more to her than to Lucas.

Brooke & Lucas are over and here is the perfect opportunity for Luke & Peyton to be together. Still I see Peyton more into Lucas then he’s into her. She tells him she loves him and he says OH and mumbles something about them being friends. It then takes a pep talk with skills and Brooke pushing him towards Peyton for him to “realize” she’s the one. All in one episode this has happened no build up just its LP so take it. Hell no! Once again you want me to accept a couple that completely caused heartache and pain to Brooke. Love is not selfish, so how can I like a selfish couple like LP. My god was it the worst watching these two together. It made me realize they both had no personality in their relationship and that they actually needed Brooke in their lives to give them some.

Season 5 happens and I knew LP wouldn’t be together because let’s face it; LP doesn’t have what it takes to make things work. They always let themselves come between them. But to my surprise they hardly made it a year in a relationship and they’ve only seen each other twice within that year. How am I to see that as true love or even “epic” as the writers say? Ha ha, I still laugh when they say Lucas and Peyton are epic. So Lucas & Peyton breaks up because Lucas proposes to her and she says someday because she loves being a mail boy. I’m sorry but the way Peyton acted and backstabbed her best friend to get Lucas. You would think she would say yes to his proposal. Again 3 years later Peyton still doesn’t know what she wants. Peyton wasn’t willing to give up her future to be with Lucas because she didn’t want to resent him. Her words not mine! Lucas then goes to New York because finally his dream of being a writer has come true. He calls Brooke to share that moment with him, and confides in her. By the end of the night he kisses Brooke and confuses the hell out of her. We then see Brooke admit that she would have given up everything for Lucas, which was a lot more than Peyton had. She ends up going into business with her mother to cover up her hurt.

3 years later Lucas is in a relationship with Lindsey, a woman who he spent 2 years with. Peyton then comes back thinking that she is entitled to Lucas, and expects him to drop everything to be with her. And what a surprise they end up cheating again. Lucas now knows he can have Peyton but he chooses to propose to Lindsey. He even makes it to the alter and says “I DO” to her. OH but once again Lucas is hiding his heart and she leaves him. Does Lucas go and find Peyton and tell her he wants her? NO, he finds Lindsey instead, and says he will wait for her and then tells Peyton he will get Lindsey back. What Kind of relationship is this, LP is so unhealthy together. Its gives me a headache just think about their history. The fact is there horrible people when there together and they need to end it for good. How could they be meant to be when they can never find the right time to be together, and they obviously don’t want the same things in life. As I watched seasons 1-5 all I could see is how they’re not meant to be. There on my list of the worse couple in TV history. They were never the ultimate couple on OTH and they will never be.

GIVE UP LEYTON! GIVE UP! GIVE UP! END IT ONCE AND FOR ALL!!!!

Leyton needs to give it up.

They saw each other 2-3 times in a year while they were together. I rest my case.

I guess LP do have people talking and People actually put their time to bash them or even start a topic on them. Means they are doing what their suppose to do. It's drama live w/ it. If you don't like them move on and talk about something else. If there was no Lucas and Peyton. OTH wouldn't be the same and all you guys know that. You won't even be arguing about this. Mark wants them and they seem to have BIG fanbase so let them be. They will be going back and forth like they do every other tv show couples. Look at Grey's M & D or even Smallville Clana or back in the 90210 K & D, D & B, B & K, etc... It happens. In the end the couple gets together or they don't.

From what I've seen about Lucas and Peyton they only really really got together in S4 and from what we know S5 they didn't have any closure and it doesn't look like they will because it seems like they belong together, because after so many years and you STILL FEEL THAT LOVE FOR EACH OTHER. That connection & love won't go away, and how the break up went it's given there's these back and forth time thing, because that was dumb break up on the writers part. It made no sense and was just Lazy writing.

So Like I said Peyton & Lucas keep making people talk, so it must be true at they are meant to be. All I see from an outsider at doesn't really care for who gets together. I just see other ships that root for another couple just showing their bitterness.

If these comments are supposed to be "civil and respect everyone's opinions" then how come people are allowed to post things such as "Leyton SUCK ASS" and "LEYTON SUCKS!"

People are entitled to their personal opinions but voicing it in such a way is highly disrespectful! Especially to the creator, writers and actors.

I think those are The CW Source should have known better than to post such a highly argued about topic. Or at least monitor or censor the comments posted.

I am also under the opinion that Lucas and Peyton should not be with each other. I agree that they were set up in the beginning to get together, but other people entered the situation and changed things around.
When they first got together and Lucas was still with Brooke. When Brooke found out, Peyton then had her chance to get with Lucas for real. I understand why she didn't because she didn't wanna rub it in Brooke's face nor did she want to hurt Brooke any more. When Lucas and Brooke were both single later, Peyton did not take advantage because she was so into Jake.
It seems to me that every time Lucas was with someone, Peyton wanted him, but when he was single, Peyton was fine with being just friends.
Then when Lucas and Peyton finally got together, everything should have been fine. Then the whole proposal thing happens and they broke up. In my opinion, Peyton had three years to make some sort of effort to let Lucas know she wanted to be with him. Just letting him leave signified that she was ok with it being over. She could have called, emailed, visited Tree Hill, anything to tell Lucas that she still wanted him. In Lucas' defense, he did call to invite her to the book signing. Peyton assumed that Lucas was with Lindsay instead of finding out the truth for herself. Then she returned to Tree Hill thinking Lucas was sitting there pining for her.

If Peyton really wanted Lucas, you would think at some point in those THREE years, she would have done something.

I think it's time for both to move on.

ok first of all leyton really does need to end. Just because they dated in high school nd loved eachother doesnt mean 4 years later everything needs to be the same. Im tired of waiting for them to finally be together i think peyton needs someone else and so does lucas.

I don't understand how some people could claim they watch all 5 season and say brooke and lucas were happy together, that's not true. They were never happy, lucas always had a thing for peyton and brooke always knew it, this made her very insecure. If she sees peyton and lucas standing 5 feet apart, she would get mad at lucas, even before lucas cheated on her with peyton.

The break up storyline with leyton did not make any sense. The reason for the break up was just silly. When haley wanted to go after her dreams nathan let her go because he loved her, he did not want to take that away from her, and haley went knowing that it could be the end of their marriage, they did not hook up with other people. Unlike nathan, lucas is a bit selfish, in fact peyton did say within a year, she did not say no to marriage.
peyton is a good person, when lucas said he would move to LA she told him no because nathan and healey needed his help and whitey believed in him.

I understand that every relationship has its ups and downs. Nathan and haley relationship had ups and down since season 1 and they still manage to find themselves back together. So I don’t understand why some people think that a relationship has to be perfect otherwise move on. Also two people don’t necessary have to be soul mates to be together, it’s really how they feel about each other. Its about two people loving each other back. leyton obviously has such connection.

I have been a hardcore Leyton fan since the beginning and those two have such a deep emotional connection between them that nothing can compare to it. When they are with each other, they act like themselves instead of these pod-like people. Lucas in season 5 was not the Lucas I loved from seasons 1-4. I think he was hurt so much by not being with Peyton that he became a shell of himself and he was hiding with Lindsey and his true feelings for Peyton came out in his second book. And watching Peyton was like watching a totally different character. She deeply regreted her saying "someday" to his proposal and carrying around that regret changed her into something she wasn't. Lucas and Peyton bring out the best in each other and I am hoping that Mark and the writers get there acts together and finally put Leyton back on track.

Layton..?? Seriously...Isnt that over and done with already...Its time to move on, come up with someting new or stop filming alltogether!

I'm a BP fan first and foremost so while I don't particularily like LP together I can understand it (and see great chemistry). Lucas's realtionship with Peyton was kind of the only one working (nice contrast to the destructive hell that was BL).
So while I really wished BP would just end up together and forget all about Lucas...but sadly this is Tree Hill were Lucas Scott's love life is like the top priority *sigh* So I really hope he just puts LP together for good and shifts the focus to other things (BP friendship *hint* lol) because it's quite obvious that they will end up together.

Leyton= dysfunctional. They are so dry and cheesey. Their relationship hasnt worked out so why would it now. Atleast Brucas worked. Peyton was in love with the idea of being in love with him. That isnt true love at all. Both need to get on with their lives. Their obviously not meant to be so why waste time. Yeah they might have been meant to be if only the pilot was aired. Leyton forever!! They were made for each other, literally. Brucus makes for a great friendship but when romance enters the picture their relationship turns into a threesome....Leybrookus, and his love for Peyton ultimately shines through. Why would anyone that likes Brooke WANT to put her character through that again? They didnt work then and its unlikely they would now. Brooke is a Leyton fan.

Leyton needs to be together because of their obvious chemistry and true love for each other, despite Lucas's bullheadedness.

After 5 seasons of this show I am so tired of them. They do NOT belong together and it's very obvious after 5 years. Give it up and MOVE ON.

Peyton was so much better when she was with Jake. And Lucas well the only girl we actually seen him want and go after without having to be told be everyone in Tree Hill is Brooke Davis.

I'm sure Leyton will get back together in S6 but hopefully it will give them closure for good. Mark got gold with a realistic couple like Brucas and I hope he knows that in the end.

They have ruined the last 2 years of the show for me. And no, im not a Brucas fan, im actually one of the only Laley fans out there. But id much rather Brucas than Pucas thats for sure.
The constant whining this season has done my head in. This is One Tree Hill, not the Leyton show which it has turned into.

if you look at the years and seasons technically brooke and lucas were together for longer than lucas and peyton and i think that brucas should end up together.

do i think the writers originally set up a world to where lucas and peyton would be together..yes but then brooke and jake came along and brooke and luke had AMAZING chemistry and so did jake and peyton! things change and the writers should see that!!!! basically im just sick of leyton!

I love Peyton, but don't like her with Lucas.They are always saying how they are meant to be but as people above have said,if they are meant to be then they should have them together already.Just quit tiptoeing around the issue. Also wouldn't it be easier to keep them together for longer than...um... a day and work with actual relationship issues and stop bringing new characters for each of them and just pick already are they going to be together or apart once and for all.

I think Lucas and Peyton should just call it a day. I'm tired of having their relationship shoved down my throat like they were meant to be. Clearly they weren't or they would have been together in season one.

I think Brooke and Lucas are a way better match. When they were together, they balanced each other out and they were fun to watch as opposed to all this moping Peyton has done this season. Give the woman a break, she keeps getting all these depressing storylines thrown her way and I honestly think if this was a real person, she'd be in a mental home or something.

I don't know. They make me torn. I really like Lucas and Brooke, but I kind of ship anyone I suppose. Do I think they were set up to be together, written that way? Probably, mostly. But then I think as the show progressed and they saw both of them with other people, I think it made it more complicated even for the writers to deal with. Lucas is one of those characters who has these insane connections with people, so it would be easy to feel like they are all destined to be with him.

But I really hate them both pining over each other, silently and not so silently. At this point now, either put them together or keep them apart. It is so annoying to watch! The only thing I am certain of is that it is certainly time to put the will-they-won't-they to rest.

I dont care who lucas ends up with really but im pretty sick of leyton...

Mia, I don't know if I'm spoiling, I really don't think I am, but when Leyton were together in season 4, they were so nauseating to watch together. The cheese factor was off the charts oh my goodness. So them not knowing what to do if they end up together would've been nice.

I guess I agree with Sarah the most because them with any other people just sucks for the other person and the other person deserves better. Peyton and Lucas deserve each other and I think the only reason I wouldn't want them to get together is because when they do they are so sickenly sweet and cheesy. Otherwise get them together and end the misery of every single character that has to deal with their drama.

Lucas and Peyton are the perfect couple and should be together, in the last few years the series showed us that they are soulmates for life.
Only the writers should now make a decision for next year if they will be together because if they don't they both should move on in there lives.

IDK. Jackie, Peyton & Lucas were only a couple for Real. In S4. Brooke and Lucas are the couple that had their shot as a couple several times and never lasting.

All I know is that From watching this series from S1-5 Lucas and Peyton are meant for each other in my mind. I don't go into this Lucas + girl crap. Coming from NH fan. I do see why LP are it for each other because of that whole YAM! thing they keep bringing back up. I've only see Peyton affect him like no else can. For some reason he can't let her go, from him and Brooke always fighting about Peyton or him always playing her hero. I can see the friendship, connection, love and bond they share because that's what they keep showing us. And after all these years, for their love to still be there, idk, that means something. I think after Lucas saying everything we both had before us was nothing more then Denial and we are always meant for each other and love each other always. I'm sorry there's no going back from that. If Nathan ever said that about Haley, I would stop right there and then and can't root for them anymore. I was at first a BL fan but then all this nonsense just keeps coming right back to Lucas and Peyton. So they might as well be together, because in my eyes they are it for each other and no matter what relationship they are in together. It will always come back to them.

From watch is S4 and how LP worked as a couple and everything. I believe S5 was just a joke, because of the way they broke up, I don't even know why or how they broke up to tell you the truth, because 505 proposal was not who LP are. And I believe that was the writers or Mark's way of nothing else to come up w/ to separate Lucas and Peyton, because that was a LAME attempt. I also believe it was because LP are made for each other and they get each other so well that there was no way in braking them up, so the writers went to the Lame excuse way. Which is sad IMO!

All I know is in S6 Lucas better stick to his Pick and no more of this nonsense back and forth or love triangles. I'm really tried of all this crap. If spoilers are right and from the pictures I've seen of the couple. Lucas better stay w/ her and not fck up again. I hope to god the writers don't do an love triangles again. Let the couple have their own problems, family, jobs, ect.... NO FREAKIN' TRIANGLES.

Whatever. I could careless about LP or LB. Nathan/Haley are the main couple of the show and the only reason I bother watching.

Who's been together for nearly the whole run of the show? Who's had two weddings? Who has a child? Lucas and Peyton or Lucas and Brooke don't have any of that and they shouldn't even bother. They're not Nathan and Haley.

as for leyton. mark creats these 2 characters to always have something for one another. in the season 5 finale its shown when haley reads the list and it says all but 1 year how he wanted to be with peyton. OBVIOUSLY peyton did screw up in LA by not giving lucas an answer. you can see she paid for it all season 5 with the whole lindsay thing. ummm and did anybody catch the smirk lucas gave when he read the poem peyton wrote for him at the rivercourt? he does still truely love her. i mean comon he wrote his first and second book based on her!!!!

Initially, during the first season, it was very clear that the show was set up to have Lucas and Peyton to be together. And I will agree that during that first season, they did have a bond that would link them to be together.

But after that first season, something shifted in their relationship. After the introduction of the beloved triangle of One Tree Hill, attitudes changed, feelings changed, relationships REALLY changed.

After this last season, we've seen Lucas move on to someone else, fall in love with someone else. I feel that if their relationship was going to stick, it would have been "stuck" by now. Stuck with super glue so that nothing could make it budge (well, except maybe nail polish remover). Anyway, I feel that Peyton should move on from Lucas. They're just not the same people that they were in high school. And if they were to try and be in a relationship, I feel that they would be trying to capture what they had in the past. Live like they did five years ago. They need to live in the present and for the future. I don't see that happenening.

And the term "soulmate"... Dawson's Creek really made me dislike that word. That word was used over and over again for Dawson and Joey. Whenever I see that word..I cringe...

Okay, back on topic..in my opinion, the Leyton scenario should just not be a part of the picture anymore. Friends, yes...romantically involved..no thanks.

If you want to go with a boring, and unrealistic over done relationship look at naley. I love them, believe me, but the reason I love this show so much is because I can relate it so much to my own life. I see so much of myself in Peyton, and I have been rooting for her and lucas since season 1.

I recently just went back and watched seasons 1 through 5 and got a much better understanding about their relationship. They were set up to be together, and it wouldn't seem right for mark to not resolve their relationship by the end of the series.

so what if peyton spent season 5 crying over lucas? we all make mistakes, and she made one when she didn't say yes to his proposal. she lost her way over the four years she spent away from tree hill. it hurts pretty bad when the person you love can't love you back, especially if they had loved you before. even more especially that he wrote an entire book about it. Yeah it's a tv show, and they could have made it so she got over it and moved on. But in reality, no one moves on from a love like that quickly, especially if you're simple meant to be.

and lucas and peyton ARE meant to be together, plain and simple. their chemistry and love is electrifying as well as heart felt and believable to the audience. i love lucas and peyton together and season 5 was definitely hard to get through, especially watching peyton struggle so much and lucas who as brooke said is "clearly lying to his own heart." if leyton doesn't end up together, don't you think season 5 was kind of a waste?

everyone should know, especially girls, just BEING together is not that simple. you'd be lucky if relationships worked so easily.

i am a brucas fan...i think that it is about time for peyton and lucas to stop trying. peyton+luke=PUKE!!! everyone was so happy when lucas and brooke were together and peyton and jake were together. i have been watching this show since the beginning, and i realized that peyton just messes everything up. lucas and brooke were so cute and happy together, then peyton had to come and screw everything up. that is peytons job on the show to ruin everything. she ruined lucas and brook, and she ruined lucas and lindsey. she definitely isnt making lucas happy so she should just stop trying to get with him, and realize that it is brook and lucas that belong together...BRUCAS <333

I don't Know what Jackie means or is talk about that they be even better with other people than they were together. Because If I remember correctly all Jake did was make Peyton cry (hate S2 w/ a Passion) and she was not the Peyton we all love and know. Jake w/ Peyton is another Peyton I've never seen she's not who she is. When she's w/ Lucas (S4) Peyton is who she is. Peyton when she was w/ Jake was like a 40 year women stuck in her room all day and never coming out. All Jake/Jenny did was turn her into someone she wasn't and was too isolated, they acted like some old married couple stuck together because Peyton couldn't be w/ who she belongs to. Lucas and Peyton get each other like no one else can, He makes her complete and they inspire each other w/ everything. "Their Art Matters It's What Gets Them There" and that connection and bond they share is beautiful and nothing can compare to it (518 the only scene they shared should prove how much Peyton gets Lucas and that connection and love they have). And all Lucas and Brooke were constantly fighting about Peyton and Brooke's insecurities were always a problem. So I've never seen that Relationship either, because Brucas was nothing more then physical attempt in my eyes. Their fighting was always annoying. Also like Lucas said in S5 w/ his Book quote from the first one. "Suddenly it was as if the roar of the crowd, and the cheers of my team mates were all sounding from a thousand miles away, and what remained in that bizzare muffled silence was only Peyton, the girl whose art and passion and beauty had changed my life. In that moment, my triumph was not a state championship but simple clarity, the realization that we'd always been meant for each other and every instinct to the contrary had simply been a denial of the following truth: I was now and always would be in love with Peyton Sawyer."

I agree with everything Jackie said, Leyton needs to move on because they always putting someone in the middle of their crap and like always Peyton messes up the relationship when she could've went after Lucas when he was solo.

I think that they will end up together anyways. They were set to be together since the beginning and will be in the end. Brooke only inserted herself in the relationship and got herself burnt because of it. Whatever happened to her, she brought it on herself.

However I am growing tired of Lucas rushing into the first open pair of arms (or legs) whenever his heart is broken. He is handsome but that doesn't give him the right to have women as his playthings.

1st of all Nathan and Hayley are the super couple of this show.
2nd I'm so annoyed with Lucas and Peyton I can't stand to watch them. Mark please have them move on to other people already. I don't care who but those 2 are tired. Lucas is such a whiner and Peyton has a great life get over the High School crap already. Your adults now. I just hope we see more Naley and Skills/Deb!

i am a huge Leyton fan. i have been since the first episode. Lucas and Peyton are meant to be together. but i am getting really sick of this whole storyline. either they need to get together and be happy together or they need to just get over each other and move on. because i dont just miss their relationship, i miss their friendship. and one more thing, the whole brucas-jeyton thing, give it up. Jake and Peyton were a cute couple and they did love each other, but that love faded. it ended and never came up again. it was over. and with Brucas, they both really loved each other too, and they were really cute together but they decided to end their relationship because they didn't love each other like that anymore. and bringing the whole brucas thing back would be really stupid because you can tell that they have became way to good of friends to ever feel like they once felt. so i think that Lucas and Peyton need to either get back together and really mean it this time or end it all and move on with their lives.

They need to give it up. The writers have done everything for that couple. They've made the whole of Tree Hill revolve around them and still half the fans or more cant stand them. This must tell you something about how hopeless the couple is.

Brucas is the underdog and still they have been able to muster as much fans, if not more than Leyton. They win almost every major poll on the web (I'm talking about polls 2000+ votes). Many fans would even prefer Lindcus to them.

They are a terribly boring couple. They cheat and hurt people who really love them and then the writers try to gloss over all the crap they do, by referring to them in elaborate terms like 'epic' and 'meant to be'. Some of us are fooled. But not all of us. If this couple ends up together, it will just show support for all the nonsense they've done and all the hearts they've broken.

I have gone back and rewatched seasons 1, 2, and 3. I can see that writters set it up for Lucas and Peyton to be together, but I don't believe that they work well together. I think the Brooke and Lucas are better off together. One thing I noticed in season 5 was how well their character worked together. They challenge each other, they have built great friendship and they talk to each other.
I believe that the love triangle is getting old so Lucas should choose someone, but I hope it is Brooke.

i completly agree with jackie on this one..as you girls continue to watch oth you will see that lucas and peyton are not meant to be with each other and they are actually better people when they are seeing other people. i personally do not even see the amazing connection and chemistry that people see in pucas. BRUCAS JEYTON and NALEY are the best couples on that show and mark didnt realize when he had it that way how good it was for all the characters now we just get to see brooke with whatever random guy walks past her and of course lucas and peyton are still being shoved down everyone that watches the shows throat.
i cant wait for you girls to watch the rest of the seasons and see the build up that brooke and lucas had and how in love they were with each other. however i do think it will just make yall hate lucas even more because you will really see he doesnt know what he wants

Okay, I have watched this show from the very beginning. I love Peyton and like Lucas but I am starting to not like Peyton. I was a Leyton fan but with the Fifth Season I lost some respect for Peyton. Peyton has turned into a shell of the person she was at the beginning and I miss the kick-butt and taking names Peyton. I think they need to drop the Leyton storyline until Peyton becomes her old-self. She needs to bring back her attitude and fiestyness before she can be with Lucas.

I'm A Lucas and Peyton fan but amoung everyone im sure i just want them to get together already, I cant wait any longer, lol. I have been a fan of them since the 1st season when peytons car breaks down and lucas goes to help her out. There was just a spark i could see between the characters which chad and hilarie are great at producing! The reason im a peyton lucas fan is because from the start brooke had the wrong intentions with lucas (based on fun, and sex) whereas peyton actually felt that she loved him since day one just didnt know how to express it. I think peyton didnt realize it until brooke was dating him, but that doesnt make her wrong for feeling that way. Heres to hoping for Lucas and Peyton In Season 6! If not don't tease us nemore!

Even though I am a die hard Leyton fan, with everything that has been going on in season 5, I don't think Lucas deserves Peyton or Brooke. He just needs to stay single for awhile and figure out what he really wants and to stop juggling all these girls around and Peyton needs to just let Lucas go once and for all.

Lucas and Peyton are soulmates. They always have been, they always will be. I do agree that the writers have confused the situation a little bringing in Brooke and Jake but for me both of those were cleared up. In Lucas's book he even writes about his relationship with Peyton "every instinct to the contrary had smply been a denial of the following truth" and he and Brooke have also said that they were just friends. Also, in season 3 when Jake and Peyton are together and she's asking him to marry her she thinks that Lucas has already moved on because she says "Brooke has Lucas". However, in her sleep she says "I love you, Lucas" which shows that she still has feelings for him. For me, this couple should end the show and they've always been meant for eachother, and I'd be really unhappy to see them end for good. So, I'd like to thanks Mark and all the other writers on the show for setting them up, because I see them as soulmates and agree with what they do with this couple.

i think they are the best couple ever!!! i mean they were so young when they started so obvisouly there going to differ a bit but the fact that they now have grown up i want them back soo much!!! LEYTON <3

Just so you guys know, I am a Leyton fan, but before I was a Leyton fan I was a hardcore Brucas fan. Now I like them both. But this topic is about Leyton, so I won't talk about Brucas.
So here is what I like about Leyton:
They have obvious chemistry. I like that there relationship has been building up for 5 seasons. I like that they still have a connection, and that they are ALWAYS there for each other and are the only ones that really understand each other. BUT then maybe it only seems like they are the ONLY ones that understand each other, because in season two I thought Peyton opened up to Jake just as much if not more than she did with Lucas. And Lucas opened up to Brooke in Season 3, yeah toward the end he started closing up but I don't believe he ever totally opened up to Peyton about the stuff that went on in season 3 either.
So I do believe they were set up from the beginning as soul mates and although I am a leyton fan, I am tired of the whole will-they-won't-they thing. I will be happy if leyton gets together. But if it doesn't work then it doesn't work, and leyton should be done. They should both move on and be happy with other people. Cause I have seen them be just as happy with other people as they are with each other. I want to give leyton one more chance, they deserve it after a 5 season build up, but after that if it works GOOD if not, the storyline is becoming annoying.

I am also a Brucas fan, but I don't think it will ever happen because of what happened with Chad Michael Murray and Sophia Bush in real life. I think in the series they will always be friends, but nothing more. I personally don't like Lucas and Peyton because Peyton at one time was so crazy about Jake!! She was ready to marry him remember??

I totally agree with Jackie. At first, it was okay. Whatever, they are both brooding, stick 'em together. But them Brooke and Lucas got together and they were HAPPY. Until Peyton screwed them over, that is. Third season and second season shwoed that Brooke and Lucas can work as a couple and Peyton can love someone other than Jake.

Their will-they-won't-they and slit-my-wrists-we-are-so-angsty relationship is tired, old, and boring. They dragged this storyline on ALL 5th season! I'm a brucas fan, but at this point, IU don't care who Lucas gets together with, just choose someone and stop whining about it!
