Yes, Brooke is her best friend, but she is not a mind reader. Of all the opportunities Peyton had to tell Brooke about how she feels she didn't, and she kept insisting that she was okay with Brooke and Lucas. So, what should Brooke "know" other than that her best friend has given her blessing. I understand that Peyton mostly kept quite because she wanted Brooke to be happy or whatever, but Brooke shouldn't be expected to "just know, or just get it" if Peyton has said she's fine with it.

If Brooke was her best friend, then shouldn't she know? I think it's pretty unrealistic that she wouldn't "get it"
I dunno, I think that her feelings for Lucas is making her "look over" what she doesn't want to see.

Um... why no talk about Naley or Haley and Lucas's fight?!

First of all since when are teen drama couples reasonable? XD

Anyways, Brooke had it coming, she inserted herself between Lucas and Peyton, not the other way around. But well Lucas is always quick to rush into the first pair of arm when he has his heart "broken" (Brooke, Nicky, Anna, Rachel, Lindsay anyone?)

OMG. Fans are actually blaming Brooke for LP's cheating and drama? Wow. What idiots.

I agree about Keith and the drinking. He seemed fine. If that was supposed to have played any part in the accident, it should have been conveyed more. But I always blamed that wacky light. Everyone has been at a turn light where someone next to you has a green and you don't and you take your foot off the break for a second. He just did that, but actually went though the light.

Aww common, I know Lucas has made a lot of mistakes but must you hate him?
He is a good guy making some horrible mistakes!

Also, you guys are focusing so much on your Lucas and Peyton hate and not anything on Naley or even Haley and Lucas. I love those characters so it'd be nice to hear a bit more from them.

To be honest, I kinda skipped around in this podcast because there wasn't a lot I was interested in hearing.
Usually I love the podcasts, just tonight didn't do it for me.

Didn't really like this Podcast too much on that stupid triangle for all I know both girls can do way way way better. Lucas and his pathetic love life needs to go and I can't believe we are/were still dealing w/ it in S5. God help us all. All I know is that S6 looks different from what I know, so that's a plus I guess.

But I do agree w/ the whole cheating thing and I do Blame all of it on Lucas, some on Peyton but most of it on Lucas. He keeps pursuing after Peyton again and again and again. She's trying to let it go, but when he keep saying things like "I have to be you". "She's great, but she's not you". "I feel it in my heart, don't you". What do people expect Peyton to do. If she's in love w/ him, of course she's not going to run away, even thou that's what she does and is going to do. It's what annoys the hell me and would have made all this stupid triangle be inexistent if Peyton just followed her heart from Day 1 and fest up. (You'll see in the next two Episodes what I mean about running or trying to do the right thing and not sticking to her heart and following it since damage has already been done). But Whatever.

Oh, ps. I do agree with you guys on the whole “people who are meant to be together, find their way in the end or back together” Whatever Brooke said, that he was thinking of Peyton too, I could see him thinking of Karen and Keith, but also I think, he was thinking Peyton and him would be find after this thing w/ Brooke. **rolleyes**

Anyways, thats the reason why I can never get into BL/LP because both girls fall for Lucas and his dumb ass words. They can do better, and that he should end up alone or send of with Dawson and they can live in LaLaland.

also could use more NH in these Podcast or PH.

Ok I take back what I said last time. Now I am shifting all of the blame to Lucas. Because Peyton wanted to stop where as Lucas well he just kisses her which is just so wrong. Mia I agree with you saying that Lucas enjoying being with Peyton is because of the thrill. And I don't know how people can blame Brooke when she is clearly the innocent one in this situation. Oh and Sarah I totally agree with you Lucas is to blame, obviously. And in this episode I do admit that I felt sorry for Dan. I agree with you guys about everything you have said.

Loved the podcast. I don't always agree with everything you say since I am a Brooke fan first then a Brucas fan. But you guys crack me up, I loved it when you said "This is wrong, this is wrong, this is so wrong. Here's my tongue." and when you said "We were on a break."

When I first started watching the show I was a Leyton fan but after this episode and the one before I started hating both Lucas and Peyton so I understand your hate for Lucas. I hated him too but I hated Peyton more because you can't trust guys, especially in high school but your friend is someone you wouldn't think would betray you so easily. Then once the betrayal is revealed that left Brooke with no one. I've mentioned this before but Peyton knows she and Brooke doesn't have the family love/support and they only have each other. So regardless of if she meant to do it or not Peyton took away the two people that Brooke actually got love from (Lucas and Peyton). It took a while but I eventually started liking both Lucas and Peyton again in season 2.

I love that you guys are watching the previous seasons. I like hearing the thoughts from people who are neutral and don't have a favorite couple. It is kinda refreshing. I can't wait to listen to more.

Oh and thanks for the explanation of the differences between your PE classes. LOL.

I loved the NH story this episode, but I guess there was too much drama going on to really focus on it.

And I also thought that when Haley and Lucas yelled at each other, it was very significant. And she tells him that the next time they see each other, "don't talk to me!" I loved Haley for calling Lucas out! But then Nathan says he only went after her at first to mess with Lucas :(

Thank you for pointing out that there's no reasonable way anyone can blame Brooke for the BLP situation. People say that she was too happy, that she shouldn't have ever gone after Lucas, blah blah blah. If your friend is a jerk to a guy and continuously tells you she's no interested in him, wouldn't you feel like she wouldn't be upset if you went after him? Wouldn't you feel that it was OK to he happy and in love in front of her?

It was so sad when Brooke told Peyton that this was "L.O.V.E. mad crushed out falling for him." And Brooke's line about "people that are meant to be together always find their way in the end" is one of the stable quotes for BL fans! We're holding out for "the end." Seasons 2 and 3 give us our most BL juice and evidence that BL are meant to be, but that quote is one of the few things from season 1 that gives us faith...

I feel like LP were first distantly admiring each other. Then, their passion for each other was mostly fueled by the fact that it was "forbidden love" and because they couldn't have each other anymore. And when Lucas said it, I knew that that's what it was to him. And I was crushed by Peyton's comment that it was so much more because she's risking her friendship for it. How can a relationship based on sneaking around, lying, and cheating be "destiny" and "so much more?" How can you put a cheating guy before your best friend? She clearly chose a relationship with Lucas over one with Brooke, a recurring theme...

Can't wait to see people turning this around on Brooke, as always.

Anyway, I remember watching this episode, and then the accident happened, and I was like "LUCAS IS GONNA DIE!? HE CAN'T DIE! HE'S THE MAIN CHARACTER! CAN THEY KILL HIM OFF?" lol. But when Dan said that he was his son, my jaw dropped! And he genuinely looked concerned about Lucas! This is one of those rare moments you like Dan...

Great podcast girls. I dont agree with everything but still great podcast.

BTW as an LPer I dont blame Brooke for the cheating. I had an issue with Brooke when she said "you didnt tell me he was such a great kisser". I thought she was wrong, you dont go to your friend and brag about kissing the same guy that she kissed the night before and think its okay. My main issue with Peyton in Season 1 was she didnt speak up and go after what she wanted and I can understand her reason because she had just come out of a terrible relationship with Nathan. I felt Brooke should have backed off especially when she herself told Lucas the night Peyton was drugged that "its really hard for Peyton to let her guard down but when she does she has an amazing heart" yet she makes out with him the next day. It is very hard for me to therefore say its all Peyton fault because Brooke is not naive in this situation. Now that does not mean I agree with the Peyton/Lucas cheating.

What I hate is the amount of Blers condemning Peyton and have for many season but still wants Brooke to be with Lucas. If Lucas had cheated on Peyton like he did on Brooke in season 1 I would not be shipping LP. The difference for me is Lucas has never cheated on Peyton. Yes he might have cheated with Peyton but he has never cheated on her. Again I repeat Brooke is not innocent in this at all but neither is Lucas or Peyton. Also if B/P had a strong and great friendship they should have had a rule about not kissing each others bf, sleeping with each others bf, kissing/sleeping/dating each others ex. Its a common rule amongst bff that you just dont share guys. I guess they never had that rule.

Hey great podcast!! I agree with most of what you said. However I not really into the whole Lucas, Brooke and Peyton triangle. I hated there whole story line in season one. Could you please talk more about Nathan and Haley, I know they are not the main drama and can easily be overlooked but they are what makes the show for me and most others. Agree with the cheating thing, everyone forgets about the guy and he always the one that should be blamed. This is why I could never ship brucas or leyton because I could not stand Lucas. I think they are both better off without him. Can't wait for future podcasts when Naley becomes the main drama.

THANK YOU, I really don’t get how some LP fans can blame Brooke for LP’s cheating. Brooke completely trusts her best friend and boyfriend but somehow they think it’s her fault for doing so. Oh and another thing I agreed on is how LP’s relationship was built on lies and cheating, I’m so glad you pointed that out. Now, I’m kind of glad you guys are hating Lucas but I think you’re letting Peyton off the hook. I’m sorry but that library scene were she’s all torn about sneaking around and then Lucas says but I have to be with you, gets me pissed all the time. She just smiles and basically says ok screw Brooke let’s make out. What kind of friend is that??? Geese, I never liked Peyton before but these episodes made me loathe her. Also I don’t agree with your interpretation of the “people who are meant to be together” scene. I refuse to believe he was thinking about Peyton LOL. I really think that moment was about his mom & Keith, and that’s why he smiled. I’m really surprised you guys didn’t talk about Laley’s fight. I really loved how she screamed on him, that’s what real friends do. They tell you when you’re wrong and Lucas was dead wrong. Well keep them coming, I really can’t wait till you guys get to season 2 and 3.

OKAY this is about the podcast of one tree hill hanging by a moment, well haven't watched in a while but i think this is the episode that haley bitches lucas out for sneaking aroud on brook 7 they never discussed it. so just puttung it out there

Absolutely in agreement about everything! I was so excited about this podcast, because this was such a big episode.

You guys are lucky that you are watching all this for the first time and don't have to wait through commercial breaks and mull over promos throughout the week until the next episode like we all had to.

I loved the ending where Dan acknowledges Lucas for a son but knowing everything I do I can't be happy about him. Although I'm with Sarah, I love seeing evil Dan. Haha. The only thing I'm a little disappointed about was that you didn't mention Naley. They had a few cute scenes then at the end they have a really important scene that will carry into the next episode. But, I don't blame you for overlooking that scene because the first time watching it I didn't think it was important until the beginning of the next episode.

Wow this was such a great episode and it was nice hearing your reactions to it. I was surprised that you didn’t mention the fight between Lucas and Haley or Nathan telling Haley he was just hanging out with her to mess with Lucas. Anyway, I agree with you about Lucas. I hated him when I was watching season 1 too, but just you wait because he’ll turn things around.
