Gossip Girl News Roundup: Inspirations, Chace's Kisses, Fashion, and a Soundtrack!
Yes, we know it's Labor Day, but we've got something worth abandoning the barbecue for: Gossip Girl is back tonight at 8/7c! We're thrilled, of course, and we're not alone. A whole bunch of publications are sharing the GG love.
*Salon talked with Leighton Meester, who explains why she thinks so many people are entranced with her Queen B character, dishes on how she deals with all the gossip about her and her co-stars, and shares what actors inspire her. She even gives a shout-out to Bette Davis, one of the original tough broads of the golden age of cinema. We like the way this girl thinks!
*People has an interview with Madchen Amick, who plays the older woman Nate is dallying with. Madchen tells us what we've all suspected: Nate knows what he's doing! "“He’s a very good kisser,” Madchen tells the mag. “If anyone gets the opportunity to kiss him, he will not disappoint.” We bet! Plus, she praises the cast on how they deal with the massive fan and paparazzi attention they get: "I don’t know where they found this group, but they all seem to have level heads.”
*The New York Observer gives us some details on the real-life designer behind Eleanor Waldorf's fashion line -- it's Lorick New York, which was created by former Ford model Abigail Lorick. Her designs will be standing in for Eleanor's during a Fashion Week episode that will feature Michael Kors and socialite Tinsley Mortimer.
*Finally, Billboard magazine reveals the tracklist on the first Gossip Girl CD, called "OMFGG -- Original Music Features on Gossip Girl." (Hee)! The tracks were compiled by music supervisor Alexandra Patsavas (the same woman who made The OC the go-to show for new music), and will be available online on Sept. 2. The CD will hit stores Oct. 28. The artists featured include the Virgins, the Republic Tigers, Phantom Planet, the Kills, the Ting Tings and Junkie XL. We can't wait!
