Okay, I'm not going to bash the Leyton fans. Its done. Lucas has made his choice. I'm just holding onto the fact that even though Peyton is his dream girl, why does he still have Brooke's letters and why does she still have pictures of them together? Their love wasn't just lust and some stupid high school romance. They actually saw the difference between them and eventually, fell in love.
I can't deny the obvious chemistry between Leyton. They were alike, he always was her hero, and they were always there for one another. I just don't understand why, if Peyton was so fucking special, he kept going back to Brooke? Why was she a possibility if they've been dead since 5th season? Obviously, Mark had an idea, but Peyton had something that he loved the most and he couldn't destroy Leyton.
But that still doesn't make me wonder. Brooke had been close to Luke for 5th season, they talked, and everyone could see them falling for each other all over again. None of you Leyton fans can deny that. We all noticed it. So, Leyton was as good a choice as Brucas. I'm writing only to say we should just let it go and leave our support to Brooke now. Brulian is some shit, but we'll have to deal with it.

I believe OTH is a brilliant show. MS is a great writer. Its always been Peyton and Lucas since episode one. People just want something in the show that relates to their own lives.

leyton is the best is true love, since first season , for all the things that they have been trough, because the comet, and all the things lucas writte about peyton, brooke is just a friend, i don't want brukas because when i see them together i don't feel real love , and it's suppost to people want to see a real love that's why i think leyton is and always be the best !!

oh,and one more thing.i myself doubted leyton,durig season 2 and half of season 3,and thuoght that brucas is end game,but during season 4 i realized that mark has considered them for eachother since the begining and that no matter what leyton is endgame.and now im sorry that i dobted leyton even for one minute,because their love is much stronger than that,or i better say mark wants it to be this way,lol

brucas fans,i mean almost all of them are saying five things:1-it was the safe choice 2-he said he was the guy for brook 3-all of their friends push leyton to be togethere.4-they want back what they had in highschool.5-they didnt show lucas and peyton falling in love.
about the first reason i agree with last comment,it wasnt the safe choice,it was the chioce that would make sense,which last comment explained enough about it,so im not gonna say anything more.about the second reason,again last comment said it already,lucas took it back later,and said he wasnt the guy for brook.and about the third reason,jeez i dont know what to say,i mean if they didnt want eachother,they wouldnt want to get back together,not even if a thousand of their friends and other people would tell them to,i mean its not like anybody force them!their friends just tried to help them (especially lucas,he is confused about his feelings half of the times!)to face the feelings that already was there and existed,its not like they create those feelings for lucas and peyton.and i think the other reason that rest of the crew keep saying that leyton were meant to be(especially in season 5)is that mark wanted to give brucas fans a clue,and make them undrestand and believe that leyton are meant to be,but it didint work out,so he had to come and said it himself this directly.about the forth reason,yeah,of cours they want back what they had in highschool,because it was so good and amazing,it was something both of them always wanted,and now they can have it again.and as for the fifth reason,how could you say that?they exactly showed us how lucas' huge crush on peyton turned to an undying love for her and how peyton fell in love with lucas.and like the last comment said,they didnt even need to show that,because its always been there and always will be.and how you guys can be so sure that brucas has a larger fanbase?and bytheway,if you guys hate leyton this much that you are calling them pucas,stop watching the show,otherwise stop complaining already.brucas is over,deal with it,stop watching the show or accept that.like someone said,its a tv show,and not every thing in it happen the way we want,for example if it were in my hand i never would start this stupid love triangle in the firs place.

Britt, first of all... Lucas WASN'T the guy for Brooke. He said he was earlier in the seasons, but if you remember... he also took it back in season 4 i think it was. Brooke was selfish, and said that she wouldn't fight for him, even though she expected him to fight for her (ugh!), so he said "then i was wrong, i'm NOT the guy for you Brooke Davis." That was brilliant by Mark because that just shows that Brooke didn't care about Lucas enough to fight for him. And that's the whole point of Brucas not working out, but Leyton working out instead. Peyton's feelings for Lucas were way stronger than Brooke's, and that's why in season 4, Brooke finally woke up and realized that Lucas should be with Peyton, not her. And it's a little ridiculous that Brucas fans keep blaming Leyton on the fact that Mark just wants to "play it safe and do what's easiest". Did you ever think he picked Leyton because it's what actually makes sense?? Because it does. The great thing about Leyton is that we didn't HAVE to see the build up for them, and we didn't have to SEE them falling in love... it was always just there. the show just made it perfectly obvious that they had feelings for eachother since day 1. and if you want to talk about the 5th season... the reason that Brucas had a strong connection (FRIENDLY, i might add) was because Mark has said himself many times that he's going to keep Lucas involved in both girl's lives to please the fans. That's why we saw so much Brucas, because incase you didn't notice... the WHOLE 5TH SEASON was about Lucas/Peyton/Lindsey! Every single episode was about Peyton still having feelings for him, and him being confused over her and Lindsey. So ofcourse we were going to get a lot of friendly Brucas scenes, so that Mark didn't leave the Brucas fans out. Just because Lucas and Peyton didn't talk that much, they didn't need to because the rest of the season 5 spoke for itself. And the few times that they DID talk... it was intense and it was perfectly clear that they still had feelings for eachother. I mean come on, he KISSED PEYTON, then went and proposed to Lindsey minutes later... sounds a little like he was scared of his feelings that he still had for her, and was running from them! AND in season 5, it was announced that he was writing yet ANOTHER book about PEYTON! and Brooke and Lucas WERE a typical high school romance, just because Leyton is still together doesn't mean they're trying to keep what they had in high school going. So you can bash Leyton, and Mark, and his decisions all you want... but at the end of the day there are TONS of people that think that Mark made the right decision. and he made that decision for a reason, not to "play it safe", but because it MAKES SENSE. and he knew that while it would piss some fans off... it would make A LOT of fans very happy. i'm sorry but he's not stupid... he's not going to make a big decision like that just because it's easy on him. he's going to put the show first and do what's right... which we all know is LEYTON!!!!! :)

Mark said they were meant to be from the start? Then why was Lucas Scott the guy for Brooke Davis? Why was he the one for Brooke? Why did MArk put all that in if he and Peyton were "meant to be"?

I don't like Leyton, but I understand that Mark wants to keep it safe and go with the original couple, even if they have no chemistry. Even if they hadn;t really talked in four years and suddenly, oops, what do you know? They're engaged! At least Brokoe and Lucas had a STRONG connection in the fifth season. Peyton and Lucas barely even talked.

People are saying Brooke and Lucas was a tyical high school romance, and that Brucas fans are just trying to keep that going. C'mon you guys. Now Peyton and Lucas are just trying to get what they had in high school.

They showed Brooke and Lucas falling in love. They didn't do that in the first or fifth season for Leyton. It was just a lot of brooding significant looks, depressing music, and WHAM! Peyton and Lucas are meant to be.

Whatever. I realize Brooke and Lucas aren't going to get together, it just makes me mad that Mark is STILL trying to make Leyon work, even after it failed so many times.

I don't understand why he would give all those interviews saing Brucas still had a chance, just to go to te typical, safe thing. He doesn't even mention how Brooke and Lucas were in love after the 4th seaosn, because he's playing it so safe.

I'm worried. We all have one thing in common, this show. Why all the fighting and fan bashing. This is exactly what the show wants..for people to care enough to argue like this about it. Mark, don't worry about people who threaten to stop watching the show because their favorite couple didn't win. It's about time the storyline goes somewhere other than an age old love triangle. Thank God Lucas chose someone, now we can get on with the show. I love the new edge Mark took with the Brooke story (her attack and feud with mom), Q's death (that almost made me cry - I never saw that coming). there has to be something other than a love story that's been going on forever. And I think Mark saw that and so he's taking the show to new places. You should all realize that. I'm a fan of both Brooke and Peyton. I think the obvious choice was Peyton. Although Luke has said to both of them at different times that they are "the one". So if it's anybody that needs a good smacking it's him....lol.

Stop hating and just kick back and enjoy the show. And all of you who have stopped watching the show, why you still here arguing anyway?? LMAO!

I don't think Mark was trying to discredit Brucas completely, i think he's just not talking about them, because they're not relevant in the show NOW. Yeah he could have talked about the love that Brucas had... but that was back in the high school years, there's no point in re-hashing that because it's not really relevant anymore. He can talk about Leyton in high school, because they're together now so their relationship back then still matters. But if Brucas is over (which it definitely sounds like they are), there's not really any point in talking about them and how they were as a couple back in high school... you know?

my biggest problem with this isnt the fact that he chose pucas its how MARK discredited the brucas relationship completely seriously i had respect for the guy as a writer but not anymore.

Oh yeah, I know about shipper wars. I was apart of the shipper wars of Dawson's Creek. And it's still going strong to this day. lol

Well Anonymous, lets face it... as sad as it is, we all know that the negative comments are never going to stop. The triangle is a HUGE part of One Tree Hill, and for a lot of fans, it's the main reason they watch the show. There are tons of die hard Leyton fans, as well as die hard Brucas fans... and this on-going battle has been going on since season 1... it's not going to stop now. I agree, i don't like the "bashing" of the FANS of either couple, but we all know that the bashing of the actual COUPLES THEMSELVES/defending of the actual couples is never going to stop! Everybody has their own opinions about who Lucas should be with, and people are never going to stop voicing those opinions. GO LEYTON!!!

I beg to differ. I have watched the show from the beginning, rehana. And at first, I was a fan of Lucas and Peyton together. But then that changed. Peoples opinions of characters do change and I feel that Brooke and Lucas have had the better build-up than Lucas and Peyton.

I would love for Brooke and Lucas to be together, but that's not going to happen. I have accepted it. And it is just a fictional TV show. I just don't appreciate it when fans of a certain couple begin to dish out negative comments of fans of another couple. It happens on both sides. It's getting really old.

i have always been a leyton fan so i am happy about the fact that he chose her. but what i honestly cannot understand is the reason why fans of the show make a big deal out of why he didn't choose brooke instead of peyton and why they stop watching the show just because the couple they were ruding for got cut off. i mean seriously - it's a show - and no matter how much we love watching it - you can't expect everything to turn out the way you want them to. just like in real life they don't. just like sophia and chad. they're just actors interpreting their roles. you shouldn't be making a big deal out of it. apart from that - thanks for a wonderful show :) cheers from malta

Anonymous... how can you need more proof? There have been SO many things in the show that make it perfectly clear that PEYTON is the one that Lucas wants to be with. I could go on and on forever.. but here are just a FEW of the MANY reasons that he should be with Peyton

1) he's proposed to her not once, but TWICE... which clearly shows that she is the one that he truly wants to be with
2) he wrote not one, but TWO books about his love for PEYTON.. how many books has he written about Brooke?
3) his words in his first novel: "at that moment my triumph was not a state championship, but simple clarity. the REALIZATION that we had ALWAYS been meant for eachother and EVERY INSTINCT TO THE CONTRARY had simply been a DENIAL of the following truth, i was now and would ALWAYS BE in love with PEYTON SAWYER"... every instinct to the contrary includes him and Brooke!
4) PEYTON has been the one that he's had feelings for ever since the PILOT!
5) he CHOSE to save her countless times "you didn't just happen to save her a few times. Peyton happened to be there, but you CHOSE to be there" -Skills to Lucas
6) his love for her brought him back to life. in season 4 after his heart attack he told her "and i didn't die, do you know why? because i had to come back and look into those green eyes of yours, and tell you that i love you. you didn't push me away, i came back for you"
7) and MOST IMPORTANTLY, in season 4 after the bball banquet, both Lucas AND Brooke acknowledged that when Whitey was making his speech about the love he had for his wife, he WASN'T talking about the love that Brucas had! and that's when they BOTH realized that it's over and that they're better off as friends!

as i said before, those are just a few of the reasons why they should be together.. i could go on and on!

I think it's very rude to call people stupid because of who they feel has been the most believable couple of the series, beside Nathan and Haley. With Brooke and Lucas, there was a buildup to why they fell in love. We got to see why Lucas felt the way he did for Brooke and vice versa.

Lucas and Peyton may have been "it" from the pilot, but as said previously, the follow-up was terrible. Lucas and Peyton were just pushed together by all of their friends because they feel like they should be together. A conscious decision was never made by them that they belong together. Throughout Seasons 4 and 5, people were saying that they were "meant to be". Well, I need more proof. I need to see that they can live in the present as opposed to trying to regain what they had in high school. Because right now, that's all that I see.

All you Brucas fans are just so bitter and in so much denial it's ridiculous. How much proof do you need to hear that Lucas and PEYTON are the ones that should end up together? Lucas and Brooke were just a typical HIGH SCHOOL relationship, nothing more. It has been all about Lucas and Peyton since the very first episode. Everyone on the show has even acknowledged that he should be with Peyton... EVEN BROOKE! I'm sorry but Brucas has been over for a while now, both Lucas AND Brooke have moved on.. i think it's time you do too! Mark knew getting into the whole triangle thing that he wasn't going to be able to please everybody. And i'm sorry but he made the right choice, there's no arguing that. And i know that there are a lot of pissed off Brucas fans out there that "aren't watching the show anymore", but believe me, if Lucas didn't pick Peyton... i have a feeling there would be a LOT more pissed off fans, and LOT fewer viewers than what there are now. All Mark did was write what made the most sense for the show NOW... and that's LEYTON! This isn't high school anymore, which means that Brucas is OVER! so GOOD JOB MARK!!

I would agree with the comment made about Peyton and Lucas being soulmates. I think that undeniable attraction was made clear in the first season. I think Mark made the right decision.

He might have planned for them to be together from the pilot but he messed up the follow through big time. That's all their relationship has been- the "but they're meant to be, it said so in the pilot" so what if they never actually proved it to us.

I'll watch it online for Brooke and Jaime-Naley, but that's it...

I think that the Brooke and Lucas relationship was more than just energy. Was it energy that had a buildup that was written by the creator?? Was it energy that had Lucas saying that Brooke was the one, his destiny...making the shot?? Was it energy that brought Brooke and Lucas together? That was not a very good description of the friendship, the relationship that Brooke and Lucas have. You can't erase the history of Brooke and Lucas.

I've accepted the direction that the show is going. Sometimes you can't always get what you want. But don't ignore what has previously been created. Don't alienate a fanbase.

He was destined to pick Peyton from the Pilot? Then why even give Brucas fans hope, why even make Brooke and Lucas FALL IN LOVE? Why give Brucas everything (love and happiness) then rip it out from under our feet? MArk never should have started the Brucas storyline if he was going to end it like this, without it being significant at all. MArk took the safe, easy route for the finale, having Lucas pick Peyton. Whatever. This show is barley worth watching anymore, it's so predictable.
